038 | Warning

Barry sat on the edge of the table, Haylee stood with her back to his chest between his legs with Caitlin seated by then and Cisco standing next to her as they watched Hartley and Harrison through the security cameras. "I really don't trust Hartley," Haylee told them as Dr Wells left the entry to the pipeline. "He seemed scared of you Haylee," Caitlin pointed out with furrowed brows while Haylee shrunk into Barry's arms, she never did too well with people fearing her due to her time as Raven.

Dr Wells wheeled into the room gaining everyone's attention, the older scientist let out a slow breath. "I assume you were all listening," Dr Wells guessed before sighing, "Well, Hartley was telling the truth. I have not been honest with you. With any of you." Haylee sighed as she looked at Barry before focusing back on the older man. "The accelerator... Hartley warned me that there was indeed a chance that the accelerator could explode," Dr Wells began causing the four others to falter.

"His data did not show 100% certainty, just that there was a risk, but it was a real risk. And yet I made the decision that the reward... that... everything we could learn and everything we could achieve, that all of that... simply outweighed that risk. I'm sorry," Dr Wells expressed before sighing however, Haylee's body was tense and Barry noticed. "Then the next time you choose to put our lives, and the lives of the people that we love, at risk, I'll expect a heads up," Caitlin said before leaving the room, Cisco followed after her.

"After the explosion, when everyone else left you... Caitlin and Cisco stood by you. You owe them more than an apology," Barry told him as he carefully rubbed his thumb back and forth against Haylee's knuckles. "They might soon get more than that what with Hartley so intent on sending me to the next world," Dr Wells replied. "What are... that wouldn't make it right with them," Barry shook his head at Harrison. "You broke their trust. Our trust," Barry told him before moving towards the door.

He looked back at Haylee who was still standing in front of Harrison. "I'll wait outside," Barry told her before leaving the room. "You knew the risks. You ignored the warnings and now... now there are people out there who have had their lives changed, people who have died because you thought that the reward was far more important. I'm sure things have changed for you but I... I'm just so disappointed," Haylee told him before shaking her head, a tear falling down her face before she walked out leaving Harrison with a frown.

Haylee let out a breath as she dropped onto her couch, she knew Jesse was out working so she was able to just close her eyes and relax in her spot. A sudden whoosh followed by a thump caught her attention, the brunette jumped up and turned around to see someone standing in front of her. Their suit held similarities to The Flash's yet it was a matte black with a navy blue vein-like design similar to her own, they had a mask on their face with a hood covering their hair as they looked towards the ground.

"Who are you?" Haylee hesitantly spoke up, she let a ball of energy form within her the palm of her hand not trusting the person's intentions. "You'll see," They replied before throwing lightning at Haylee, the meta instantly blocked it. "In my own home?" Haylee asked incredulously before throwing the ball of energy at them, they dodged it before rushing out of the home. Haylee rolled her eyes before letting her eyes glow, building lightning before pushing off the spot to go chasing after them.

Throughout the streets, two streaks of blue tangled and collided with one another as they fought. One a dark navy blue that seemed to be duller than the sky blue aura of the second streak of blue, one would think that legitimate lightning was striking off of the ground rather than within the clouds. Glitch become incredibly annoyed by this other meta who seemed to have similar abilities to her, the whole situation reminded her of Flash and Reverse-Flash and she was begging that wasn't her own version of Reverse-Flash.

It wasn't long till they reached the empty runway where the team would train, the navy blue streak grabbed the sky blue and threw her to the ground, the Glitch tumbled across the pavement before letting out a pained groan from the impact. "This isn't nice," Haylee muttered as she turned her head to the other meta, they stood a few feet away just watching her. They crossed their arms and Haylee swore they had a taunting smirk on their face.

"You're good. But not enough for what you will face," They stated before standing like a soldier, head high and hands clutched behind their back. "What are you talking about?" Haylee asked as she pushed herself off of the ground, another pained groan left her lips due to the bruising on her side. "You're still running. You've accepted your new life without accepting your old one," The meta told her with a stern voice, one that held a lot of familiarity to Haylee.

"I forgave myself, I'm not running anymore," Haylee replied harshly, she had forgiven herself for Luka's death and it helped her move on. "But you haven't accepted yourself as Raven. If you were to unite both alter ego's together, then you would be ready," The meta told her before their stance twitched ever-so-slightly which gave Haylee enough time to prepare as he ran towards her, throwing a powered punch into her chest before she could block it.

She was sent back a few feet as the air had been knocked from her lungs leaving her gasping as she hit the ground so harshly, it created an impact into the concrete. "You need to stop running, stop walking on eggshells. Raven was a powerful fighter," The meta spoke standing in the soldier stance. "Raven was a killer," Haylee breathed out, her voice hoarse from the hit. "Raven was an avenger. She killed those who deserved it, saved many lives and ensured generations of pure bloodlines," The meta told her.

"Whereas, Glitch... Glitch is an awakening. Glitch is a broken code within the timeline that holds capabilities beyond our words natural coding," The meta continued as they walked towards her, she attempted to pull away but he grabbed her arm and pulled her to her feet. "Why are you doing this?" Haylee asked him with watery eyes. "Because I made a promise... And I keep my word," The meta told her before shoving her back and kicking her in the stomach.

"Now show me who you are Haylee Noelle Brager. Show me, Raven... The Glitch in society or... die," The meta rushed forward throwing balls of energy at her, each hit her causing her to stumble. Haylee's breath was ragged and hoarse, the pain throughout her body caused tears to stream down her face, she dropped to her knees. "Or maybe... maybe I'll go kill Caitlin or Cisco. Iris, Joe, Eddie, Harrison. Maybe I'll pay Star City a visit and go after Felicity or Diggle..." The meta taunted as he walked towards Haylee.

Haylee's eyes began to shine brighter as they spoke, electricity sparked over her body in a deadly manner before she pushed off the ground and towards him, but as she reached him, he became transparent and she went through him before tumbling to the ground. "Or maybe... I'll kill Oliver and Barry," The meta finished off as the clouds in the sky began to form to a dark threatening grey, behind the meta Haylee hovered off of the ground as thunder crashed within the sky.

The meta turned to look at Haylee, lightning coursed over her body as a bright aura shone off of her. She turned her menacing look towards the meta who smirked, they began to hover off the ground in a replica of her style before the two pushed off the ground and crashed into one another, their matching power bouncing off each other sending them to the ground. Both of them rolled to a stop on their knees before looking up at each other.

Haylee's breathing was heavy from the large use of power but she didn't fight the smile that appeared on her face from the euphoric feeling she got from the power itself. She furrowed her brows before cracking her neck, lightning from the sky struck her and she instantly used the recharge to rush forward in a blur before the meta had a chance to block. She threw a sharp punch into their face followed by a calculated kick into their side.

As the meta clutched their stomach, Haylee grabbed their arm and flipped them over her shoulder as she mixed her training as Raven and her acceptance as Glitch to fight. The meta began laughing, the sound held so much familiarity that it caused Haylee to falter and stumble back from them. She lifted her gaze to the meta as they stood up with not a wince of pain but a teasing grin as their hood had fallen off.

"I know you..." Haylee breathed out, her chest rose and fell at a fast pace from the fighting but it hitched when the meta removed their mask. "Hello little sister," Jesse's voice spoke. "J-Jesse? How? What?" Haylee stepped forward as the clouds cleared, both of their shields fell as Jesse shrugged. "I'm not Jesse from this time. As you can tell by the older look, I'm from the future," future Jesse spoke before letting out a slow breath.

"What I'm going to tell you, you cannot tell anyone else. It can be a huge risk to the future of everyone you love," He warned her before nodding satisfied by her nod. "In my time, they call me The Bolt. I am known as Glitch's brother along with a member of Team Flash and another group known as The Legends of Tomorrow," Bolt explained to her. "So Jesse has meta abilities?" Haylee asked. "Not yet. I didn't develop my abilities until... a certain moment in time," Bolt told her before dropping the topic.

"But how did you get here from the future? And who are the Legends of Tomorrow? And what the hell is going on?!" Haylee exclaimed before stopping in front of Bolt. "All right. You need to relax," Bolt told her with a chuckle. "I travelled here with the help of a friend of mine, Rip Hunter. And the Legends of Tomorrow is a group that is yet to form in your time, but they are legendary heroes who protect time; some of them you'd least expect to play hero," Bolt explained with a smile on his face.

"And in reference to what is going on... I needed to ensure that you were ready for what is coming your way. I couldn't let time repeat its mistakes and despite not being able to tell you anything more, I had to change your fate for my own selfish reasons," Bolt told her before grabbing her hands. "You need to trust your instincts, trust your doubts and please do what's best for you, Haylee," Bolt warned her as a large spaceship appear behind them leaving Haylee stunned.

"J, it's time to go!" Rip Hunter called out before smiling at Haylee, he nodded his head to her before looking back at Jesse. "We've gotten an alert, the team is awaiting your return," Rip told him before disappearing back into the spaceship. "Haylee..." Bolt breathed out as he looked back at her, his eyes were glossy with tears which only confused her. "Please keep in mind... Those closest to you aren't always who they seem. Trust your instincts," Bolt told her before kissing the side of her head and rushing off to the ship.

Haylee stood silent as she watched the ship pushed off of the ground and disappear into the sky leaving a slight pulse of energy behind. Those closest to you aren't always who they seem echoed through her head on repeat as she tried her best to make sense of what happened. She shook away the thoughts and noticed that the night had passed into the day but she hadn't noticed due to the storm she had created. She pulled her phone from her pocket to see an SOS from Caitlin which made her curse to herself before speeding off to Star Labs.

After facing Hartley alone, Barry had begged Haylee to stay with him while his hearing was a mess which she thoroughly enjoyed as she talked softly just to tease him even though it just ended up with the two making out for a while. And while Barry slept soundly, his arms around Haylee's waist holding her against his chest for comfort, Haylee was awake thinking over what had happened with Bolt and who he could've been talking about. She couldn't stand it, she needed to be honest with herself; something was off about Harrison Wells and she was gonna find out what it was.

Author Note
I loved writing this chapter. I hope you like some more original storyline and I had to write some connections to Legends Of Tomorrow because I like Rip Hunter. Anyway, What did you think of this chapter?
