Haylee had dried tears on her face as she sat on the roof of Jitters, her laptop sat in her lap as she unclipped her hair letting it flow over her shoulders and over her face. She did her best to wipe the makeup from her face before giving up on it and just letting it be, her heart was still pounding as her ribs ached painfully. She had finished patching up her open wounds and threw the rest of her medkit into her backpack before closing her eyes and taking in deep breaths. She slowly opened her eyes and looked at the laptop, her blog shining back at her.
To understand what I'm about to tell you, you need to do something first. You need to believe in the impossible, can you do that? Good, because all of us have forgotten what miracles look like. Maybe because they haven't made much of an appearance lately. Our lives have become ordinary, but there is someone out there who is truly extraordinary. I don't know where you came from. I don't know your name, but I have seen you do the impossible to protect the city I love. So for those of us who believe in you and what you're doing, I just want to say thank you.
Haylee hit publish before leaning back against the wall, closing her eyes as she thanked the wounds for being hidden by her jeans and sweater. The sound of a whoosh zoomed by bringing a smile to Haylee's face, she opened her eyes to see Flash standing there. "Your welcome," Flash spoke up with a smile, due to the night light he didn't have to blur his face. "How did you... Are you stalking my blog?" Haylee teased with a smirk. "Speed Reading," Flash replied with an echo in his voice.
He moved closer to her taking notice of the dried tears, his heart pounded in his chest as he knelt down completely forgetting to blur his face. "What happened?" Flash asked panicked, he didn't like the sad expression that morphed on her face. "I-I..." Haylee's voice was caught in her throat as she let out another sob causing Flash's heart to break at the sight. "Hey, hey," Flash cooed before pulling her into his arms, he switched them around allowing her to curl into his hold as his back rested against the wall.
Haylee cried which was something she rarely did as someone who often bottled up her emotions and pushed them away. Flash rubbed her back, Barry underneath the mask felt a rush of anger as he remembered the date she was supposed to be on. "I'm right here," Flash assured her, closing his eyes to relax his seething anger. "H-He... played me," Haylee sobbed out as she remembered what had happened hours earlier.

Earlier that night...
"Dinner was amazing," Haylee expressed to Sebastian as they walked down the street away from the restaurant. Sebastian smiled at her before he interlocked their hands, swaying them between them. "It was. I must admit, I was hoping for fancier food but the simplicity of that meal was delightful," Sebastian told her before focusing ahead of them. "Oh yeah, I understand. But the simple things in life are pretty good," Haylee replied to him.
Something made Haylee's spine tingle, like an instinctive reaction to danger as she looked around and realised that the street was completely empty besides her and Sebastian. She shook her head subtly to brush away the feeling before smiling up at Sebastian, though he had a deadpanned look on his face as they turned the corner we three people stood. Haylee furrowed her brows before realising who was standing there.
"It's been quite some time, Raven," Trevor Mitchell spoke with a sly smirk, his eyes began to glow a vibrant red causing Haylee's heart to start pounding. "You're a metahuman," Haylee stuttered out before looking to Sebastian as he walked towards Trevor, standing behind the man as he glared at Haylee. "Sebastian?" Haylee whimpered out but he just crossed his arms. "I forgot to mention... Luka was my little brother," Sebastian informed her with gritted teeth.
Haylee's heart shattered as she stood there, the pounding in her ear made her feel like passing out. "You used me..." Haylee whimpered out as she tried to steady her breathing. "You murdered my little brother," Sebastian replied. "Goodbye Haylee," Sebastian turned and walked away without looking back while Trevor and his two goons stepped forward. "It's incredible what I can do now," Trevor taunted as the metal in the area lifted from the ground.
Haylee's eyes widened, "Oh great... Magneto... You can take that, so let's call you Copper Control." Haylee dodged the metal that was thrown her way, rolling across the ground before initiating a fight against one of the goons. Haylee dodged his punch and swept his feet, the guy hit the ground with a thump as the second goon approached and kicked her in the ribs harshly. Haylee stumbled away and groaned in pain before punching the guy in the stomach, elbowing his back.
Haylee turned to Trevor but was met with a large piece of metal that sent her flying back from them and hitting the ground. "Ow..." Haylee pushed off of the ground and looked to Trevor as she had an internal battle, does she fight back or let Trevor get his revenge. She was down on one knee as she focused her breathing when she remembered what Lavera had taught her, she needed to forgive herself for the mistake, don't forget; forgive.
"She's mine now, boys," Trevor announced, the two goons stepped away as Trevor made his way towards Haylee. "You'll pay with your life. Eye for an eye," Trevor expressed angrily. "Makes the whole world blind," Haylee replied as she looked up at him, her eyes were shining their vibrant blue as an aura of electricity formed around her. The electricity was flowing over her majestically as she accepted her power, forgave her past and controlled her emotions.
A ball of energy formed in her hands as Trevor stepped back from Haylee with wide eyes. "I'm not Raven anymore. What I did to Luka was a mistake that made me put the bow down," Haylee expressed to Trevor as a tear fell down her face, the small drop of water singed against her skin. "I am sorry for what I did, nothing will ever make up for what happened to Luka but is this what he would want?" Haylee asked him as the ball of energy beamed in her hands.
"I wouldn't know, he isn't here," Trevor snapped before throwing more metal her way, Haylee threw balls of energy towards him sending the metal away from her at the force. Haylee was growing tired quickly, she hadn't done any training for her stamina so using this much energy without a source was draining her. "You'll die for your mistakes," Trevor seethed as he stood in front of her, she was down on one knee as the blue aura of electricity faded.
Haylee closed her eyes as Trevor held up a sharp piece of metal, slowly opening her eyes in preparation for death she was stunned when a flash of yellow went by her sending the metal into the wall. Trevor stumbled back with wide eyes as Haylee furrowed her brows knowing that The Flash had a red blur, not a yellow one. "Who is that?" Trevor shouted before a full vibrating being stood in front of Trevor.
"This doesn't involve you," Trevor seethed at the mysterious being. "Hurting her does involve me. I can't let you do that, it's not her fate," The mysterious man replied before raising his hand, his arm was vibrating as he sent it through Trevor's chest causing Haylee's eyes to widen as she watched Trevor's body fall limp to the ground. The mysterious man looked up at the two goons who got into the car and drove away with fearful expressions.
The man turned around to look at Haylee, the girl attempted to stand but fell back down making her groan. The mystery man approached Haylee and knelt down in front of her, "You'll be alright, Haylee. You are too kind for this world." He rested his hand on the side of her face, Haylee's eyes began to shine as she absorbed the energy he was producing which instantly caused her to let out a breath of relief.
Haylee closed her eyes allowing the new energy within her to recharge, her body already felt relieved compared to the draining feeling she had. "Till we meet again, Haylee," The man spoke before a sudden whoosh of air sent Haylee's hair everywhere. She opened her eyes and noticed she was now alone with just Trevors body, she let out a shaky breath before making an anonymous call and disappearing into the shadows.

Haylee focused on Flash's heartbeat, the steady thumps soothed her as she kept her eyes closed with her head resting against the city's heroes chest. "T-Thank you, Flash. I'm sure you had more important things to worry about," Haylee expressed before moving out of his hold and standing up. Flash immediately missed the way her body felt against him as he watched her walk to the edge of the roof, she wrapped her arms around herself and looked out to the city.
"You didn't deserve that," Flash expressed as he walked towards her. "Does anyone? God, I can hear Somewhere Only We Know playing like a backtrack on this moment," Haylee rambled making Flash chuckle before playing the song from her laptop with his speed. "Dance with me," Flash offered, holding his hands out to her. Haylee smiled before walking over to him, she placed her hand in his before placing the other on his shoulder.
Flash placed one of his hands on her waist before tightening the grip on her other hand, the two stepped perfectly with the song. "Is this what you often do?" Haylee asked him with a smile. "No. But I wanted to see you smile," Flash answered softly as they began slowly swaying together, the music was the only thing they could hear as they looked at each other. Haylee swallowed slowly before pushing up on her toes, Flash leaned in and slowly their lips connected.
Many people use fireworks are an example of the perfect kiss that just felt right but Haylee would rather the term, electric. And maybe that was ironic due to her abilities and his, but that's what it felt like to her. The slight tingle throughout her body didn't feel like mystical explosions that fill the sky with beautiful colours that you can't help but stare in awe or applaud; it felt like the tingle static of electricity flowing throughout her body as their lips moved together.
Haylee pulled away slowly for air, her eyes still closed as Flash opened his own admiring the beautiful girl in front of him until he remembered, she didn't kiss Barry Allen, she kissed The Flash. He cleared his throat and stepped back, frowning at the hurt expression on her face when her eyes opened. "I-I... We shouldn't have done that," Flash said before looking at her with an apologetic expression.
Before she could speak, sirens sounded in the distance gaining the heroes attention. "I gotta go," Flash told her before grabbing her waist and laptop and leaving her at her car. Haylee leaned back against her jeep and let out slow breaths as she focused on the euphoric feeling she got from their kiss. Haylee wasn't someone to believe in cliche 'true love's kiss' troupes but if there was a way to describe their moment, those are the three words she would use.
Haylee drove home and went straight to bed, but she didn't sleep at all the night as she processed everything from Sebastian's betrayal to the mystery saviour and finally, the kiss she had said with the masked hero known as The Flash. She tossed and turned all night before she decided to take advantage of an empty house and work on her suit. Meanwhile, Flash was getting beaten up by a familiar face that would lead to a major change in Haylee's life.
