013 | A Date

── ⚡ ──

Barry had fought against a man that could turn to poisonous gas, helped catch some criminals and spent time with Haylee watching movies in hopes to remove any suspicion she had about him. Haylee had managed to convince Caitlin to hang out more, the two became good friends bonding over their knowledge in the medical field and sharing stories about Ronnie, though Haylee only knew him for a short time.

Cisco had shown up at Haylee's dressed in Ravenclaw robes begging her to marathon it with her to which she agreed, quickly changing into her Gryffindor robes. Haylee spent a lot of time publishing posts and articles to her blog about the red streak and the meta-humans he had been taking down. Jesse had been keeping a closer eye on his sister while watching Eddie and Iris with envy and jealously that he pushed away at the sight of Iris' smile.

Haylee had been helping Joe and Eddie with some cases while spending some time hanging out with Dr Wells discussing science and other topics that the two were interested in. Haylee knew that there was something going on with Barry, his sudden disappearances, his terrible excuses and the way Joe is always backing him up and she wanted to find out why. And the inner journalist plus the adventurous inner child were gonna solve the mystery.

"Leonard Snart?" Haylee spoke up as she walked into Barry's lab in heels, a tight black dress and her hair done up nicely. "I remember reading about him and his father," Haylee added as Joe and Barry looked at her. "Wow, sweetheart. You look good," Joe spoke before lightly kissing the top of her head. "Yeah... Why do you look good?" Barry asked ignoring the amused smirk on Joe's face. "I have plans," Haylee teased vaguely before looking at the mug shot of Snart.

"I won't lie but this feels like an Anakin moment 'cause he is stupidly attractive," Haylee spoke before Barry pulled the book away from her. "Haylee," Joe gained her attention making her sigh. "Why did you stop by?" Joe inquired. "Okay, so I have a date and I was hoping that Barry could be my backup plan," Haylee pointed out as she looked at Joe and Barry. "Backup plan?" Barry asked confused as he ignored the annoyance about Haylee's date.

"Uh, yeah. Basically, if I feel like the date is going in a dreadful, "I'm gonna get murdered" direction, I'm gonna pretend I have an important call and you'll come and save me," Haylee explained with a sweet smile as Barry understood her explanation. "I mean, yeah. I can do that for you," Barry replied causing Haylee to squeal in happiness before she hugged him tightly. Barry wrapped his arms around Haylee, turning his head to Joe who wriggled his brows teasingly.

"Right, well... I should get going then. Please, hold your phone close by," Haylee told Barry before lightly kissing Joe's cheek. She sent them both one last smile before leaving the room, smiling at officers as she passed by them. "I hate this..." Barry mumbled to Joe who chuckled instantly. "Come on, let's focus on Leonard Snart here," Joe pointed out, the two of them getting to work on finding out more about Snart.

Haylee walked into the nice restaurant, her nerves were haywire due to the blind date her brother set up for her. "Haylee Brager?" A familiar voice caught her attention, turning around she smiled at the sight of an old friend. "Sebastian Anderson, what a pleasant surprise," Haylee responded with a smile. "Shall we?" Sebastian offered, Haylee nodded before the two walked over and sat down.

"So, how have things changed in your life?" Haylee asked Sebastian. Sebastian Anderson, someone she went to school with and was good friends with though they rarely hung out because Haylee spent most of her time with Barry and Iris. "Life has been good. Just opened my own company in Starling City. I'm here on business but when I ran into Jesse, I thought it would be a great opportunity to catch up with you," Sebastian says with a smile.

"It is good to see you again, Seb. I'm glad you are doing well," Haylee smiled sweetly at him. The two ordered their food and Haylee updated him with everyone that had happened over the past year. Haylee was enjoying the date, it was nice to catch up with Sebastian again and she was excited to see what may happen between them. Haylee went home with a smile that night sending Barry a message to let him know she was not murdered and enjoyed her date.

"So Joe is still giving Iris the cold shoulder," Haylee spoke up as she walked into Barry's lab with a sigh. "Well, she didn't tell him about her and Eddie," Barry responded as he looked over to Haylee. She was wearing black skinny jeans with a floral top with spaghetti straps, her usual ankle boots and her hair was half up, half down and he found himself mesmerized by her beauty. "That is very true," Haylee replied as she looked to the whiteboard knowing what's underneath the top sheet.

"So, my blog is official now. Which has been a major highlight," Haylee spoke with a wide smile as she jumped up onto the empty table, crossing her legs as she looked at Barry. "And because of that, I was wondering if you'd let me look at the case about the armed car robbery the Streak stopped today," Haylee gave him puppy dog eyes but he shook his head instantly.

"What? I'm not at liberty to discuss an ongoing police investigation with you," Barry spoke as he turned away from her. Haylee laughed as she jumped off of the table with her arms crossed. "Since when? You, Eddie and Joe always keep me updated, that's how I keep my job at CCPN, remember?" Haylee reminded him with made him mentally curse and think of a new excuse.

"Take it from someone who's been investigating the impossible since they were eleven. Blogging about this is only gonna bring the crazies to your front door," Barry spoke honestly, he looked to Haylee noticing that she wasn't gonna budge. "My blog is anonymous, Barr. I'm working on a new name for the hero though, "Red Streak" isn't the best blog title," Haylee says with a wide grin as she thought about Central City's unidentified hero.

"All right, well, anonymous or not, it's not safe. You never know what kind of weirdos are out there trolling on the internet," Barry spoke up. "I can vouch for that," A familiar voice caught both of their attention. Haylee stepped around Barry as the voice continued, "The internet is full of weirdos and nerd rage... lots and lots of nerd rage." Haylee smiled widely, "Felicity!" Barry watched in shock as Haylee and Felicity ran to each other and hugged.

"I've missed you," Felicity spoke before pulling away from Haylee, "And I missed seeing you every day for, uh, work." Haylee noticed Felicity's hesitation but then remembered that Barry was in the room and he had no idea about her involvement with the Arrow. "R-Right! But it is so good to see you, but you aren't here for me..." Haylee trailed off as she looked between Barry and Felicity before remembering the time Barry was in Starling on business.

"So the lightning came through here?" Felicity asks as she looks up at the sunroof. "Yeah," Barry answered with a nod. "All right, well, you are here to see Barry so I'll leave you two be, but make sure to come by before you leave," Haylee hugged Felicity again before kissing Barry's cheek and making her way out of the lab. "Barry, you're blushing," Felicity smirked at Barry's red cheeks. Haylee decided to head home and watch TV for the rest of the day, not really having the energy to do anything.
