Chapter 32*๏ผŠโœฟโ€๐ŸŒผ๐Ÿ€โ€โœฟ

Since the creation of the universe
Everything was destined

Monday arrived unexpectedly fast, signalling the moment for you to bid goodbye to your dear Chimmy. He was visibly saddened, unable to bear the thought of your departure. You had to reassure him that you would meet again soon in Seoul if fate allowed. Although he would be on tour, there was a possibility of encountering him at a fan meet, though uncertain.

That morning, your farewell was filled with kisses, like he was enlisting for military service. He wasn't prepared to part ways with you. The mere thought of being without you for a week already caused him anguish. The prospect of being on tour while you remained in his motherland troubled him deeply.

Where you both snuggled up in each other's arms, you gently caressed his cheek with a soft smile, "Hey, Jims, don't look so glum. We might catch up again real soon. I'll be in Korea for nearly three months, alright? I'll manage. The gaming gig isn't right in Seoul, but it's close enough for you to sneak off, you just gotta be dead careful. You 'know you're a big deal back home. Paparazzi will be watching your every step."

Jimin nodded, but his eyes wore a miserable look. "I know... but I'm desperate to be with you. How should I focus on the tour when I know you're in Seoul waiting for me? I'll be constantly worried about your safety."

You grinned, giving his pouty lips a quick peck. "Aw, Jims, you're a proper drama queen, mate! Get your head in the game for the tour, and give it your absolute best. I'll be keeping an eye on your fan cams, so no messing up those dance breaks, alright?" You playfully waved your finger at him, teasingly tapping his nose. He smiled softly and leaned in for a passionate moment, his warm lips meeting yours.

You hugged him tightly around the shoulders, reciprocating his longing for you, knowing it might be the final intimate encounter.

Your heart felt heavy, realizing this might be the last time you could be so close. Every second felt precious as you poured all your heart and soul into loving him. Knowing he could meet his destined soulmate at any time left you feeling breathless. You hoped to handle the loss despite the devastation, aware that you entered this forbidden relationship with eyes wide open.

After refreshing showers, Jimin's eyes betrayed inner turmoil. Leaving the secluded resort behind, the harsh reality loomed. It was time to brace yourself for the world outside.

Uncertain about dealing with the paparazzi and hoping the frenzy from Friday had died down, you hadn't checked your messages all weekend, feeling anxious about what awaited beyond the resort. The morning meant meeting your estranged dad, a meeting you weren't prepared for but hoped to find closure. The weight you'd carried for years had taken a toll on your mental well-being.

Seeing him again would resurface all the old wounds of abandonment and pain. How could he make amends for the hurt he caused? The pain had carved a deep hole in your heart, and you weren't sure if you could ever truly heal. But for the sake of your mom, you decided to hear him out, uncertain of what might unfold. The idea of accepting his new wife and your half-siblings felt like they had stolen away your family's happiness.

...

In the lounge area, you and Jimin stood tightly embraced. Looking up at him, you could sense the depth of affection in his sad eyes. He took a deep breath as he released you from his hold.

"Baby... have a safe trip. I'll see you in Seoul remember thatย  I love you so much," he breathed out. Hugging you again.

You smiled, cupping his cheeks and kissing his lips again, renewing the passion that left him breathless.

"I love you. Stay safe," you whispered, running your fingers through his golden hair.

He smiled, "Don't forget what you promised me- if it happens on your birthday. Once you're in Seoul, send me your home address, and your birthday gift will arrive. Promise me you'll accept it with an open heart," he said with an expectant look, teasing with a smirk.

You looked a bit cautious, "As long as it's a little thing and not too expensive but seeing you again will be the best birthday pressie."

He playfully waggled his eyebrows. Suddenly, there was a knock at the door. One of his driver/bodyguards and Ms. Cheong stood there with broad smiles. Both of you greeted them and thank Ms. Cheong for allowing this secret time together.

After one last embrace with Jimin, Ms. Cheong had the lesser-known bodyguards drive you to the designated hotel where you were to meet your dad.

During the ride, you checked your messages and found numerous texts from your family, concerned about your well-being. Fortunately, you had already informed them of your plans. Your mom and Dr. Hyun flew to Seoul with Becky, who excitedly messaged about her pre-acceptance at Seoul National University. You and Bryant would be home alone. You and Melissa were set to fly to Seoul by Thursday afternoon, and her excitement was palpable. She had grand plans, including dating hot "oppas" and meeting K-drama stars, topping her bucket list.

The girls sent you a message in the chat group, filling you in on the Ms. Freshette finals and campus events.

Melissa: Girl, the uni's buzzing! You're going to be voted the most popular girl in the year-end poll. The hype here is insane. Even the lecturers are asking about you. Non-Armies are suddenly ARMYs! Twitter and all socials are lit up. ARMYs think you and our Chimmy are soulmates, and the frenzy won't stop, it's wild.

Janice: "Enjoy the weekend, and don't stress. Remember, haters going to hate. Just savour your internship in Seoul. I'm super envious. I'm off to Japan on Thursday, too."

Samantha: Girl, it's good you're getting out of Sydney. You won't have a moment alone now. Greg even grilled Brendon to find out where you went, but we kept it hush-hush. He couldn't believe your sudden popularity. He pushed Brendon to spill if you and the Asian guy are serious. He sneered that Jimin isn't your type. He thinks you'll realize a celeb isn't a good match, and you'll come crawling back to him, waiting for you to wise up.

You smirked at Greg's arrogance. What a tool! He thinks he's the bee's knees! Jimin's character outweighs his, and you'd never go back to Greg, even if Jimin met his soulmate. You'd rather be alone than with a filthy cheater. You brushed off those irritating thoughts of Greg and his delusions.

Melissa: Oh, don't forget your passports and docs. My mum's taking us to the airport on Thursday evening.

Janice: Before I forget, two girls from your floor reached the top three spots. Jenna won Miss Freshette this year, Holly came second, and a floor five girl came third. Sadly, our floor didn't rank as well as those loose girls on floor six.

You were surprised by the results, but you all cheered for Jenna. It was unfortunate this article had disrupted your time with them. You felt hurt for not being able to support your freshmen friends. Janice promised to send you pics of the event.

You planned to congratulate them all once you were settled back home. You hoped Bryant hadn't faced paparazzi issues at home. Dr. Hyun had involved the police to remove trespassers when you didn't return home for the weekend.

You quickly replied to their messages.

You: "Hi guys, I'm safe and sound. I am meeting my dad and his family at a nearby hotel. Wish me luck. I'll catch up soon."

Samantha: "Morning, bestie! Will do. It's good to hear you're better after the Friday craziness. Someone must've had a fab weekend. Your phone was off. We need all the deets. Good luck with the meeting and try not to lose your cool with your dad, alright?"

You chuckled. You didn't chat with your friends andย had gone MIA that weekend. You and Jimin had been alone, getting better acquainted in a very intimate way. Not for the faint-hearted.

You: Yeah, I'm calmer but still slightly shaken from Friday. I'll try to keep it together with Dad.

Melissa: Hey girl, can we have a little send-off bash before we all leave Sydney? My mum's cool with it. The gang won't be around to celebrate your birthday on Friday. So we four can celebrate it earlier.

Janice: I'm so in. But let's avoid places where Ruby might get recognized. It'd be a downer if our day gets spoiled.

Melissa: How about you all sleep over at mine from Tuesday till Thursday? It's private, and no one will bother Ruby. We'll just let Ruby's brother know she's with us.

You: Wow, that'd be awesome. We can be together before heading off for three months.

Melissa: Then we leave together on Thursday. Ruby can head home and pack.

You: Oh I've already packed for the trip. Samantha can bring my car with my luggage. Everything is in my travel folder.

Samantha: Sounds fun. Should I pick you up for the hotel?

You: Yes, please. I won't need a ride with my dad. Thanks. I'll inform Bryant that I'll go straight to Melissa's place. He can see me off on Thursday at the airport.

Janice: Alright, we live a bit far. So I'll head over to Melissa's tonight. My dad will drop me off and pick me up. All packed because my flight's early on Thursday, too.

You had a bit more of a chat until you arrived at your destination. Nervous tremors fluttered in your stomach. Unsure of what to expect from your father and his new family, you resisted the urge to feel bitter. You planned to stay friendly and hear him out.

You thanked the driver, wishing him a safe flight. You were dressed in a white striped sweater, a khaki long ,sleeve coat, black skinny jeans, and black and white Nike sneakers. Sporting a tight bun under a black beanie and oversized, dark sunglasses, you were unrecognizable to the watchful eyes of the public. Aussie-ARMY has been on high alert since Friday.

Swinging your small weekend bag over your shoulder, you entered the luxurious Crown Plaza hotel through its massive glass swinging doors. Grimacing as you reached the reception lobby, you couldn't help but notice the opulent and spacious surroundings, understanding that it fit your father's status as a prominent lawyer in New Zealand.

A welcoming lady stood by the reservation desk, and your cautious eyes scanned the lavish open space. It had been ages since your family had taken a vacation. Your dad must have the means to afford such an exquisite beach holiday.

His wife, surely high-maintenance, seemed to have a taste for luxury. You felt sorrowful for your mother, who had given up her dreams and medical career path to support your dad's law success. But she could never enjoy such vacations with him.

Taking a deep breath, you forced a tight smile, politely greeting the lady. The lobby was pretty empty, with only a few guests either checking in or out. Some were smartly dressed and chatting on the long chairs.

The gracious lady gave you a wide smile. Her shiny black hair was in a tight bun, and her elegant black uniform suited her well.. You returned her wide smile as her clear grey eyes observed your features. Inhaling deeply, you removed your sunglasses.

You inquired about your dad and his room number. She promptly called his room, and he agreed to meet you. Politely, she shared his room numberโ€”204. You nodded in thanks, expecting a long elevator ride to the top.

Luckily, the elevator was empty, allowing you to gather your thoughts. Glancing at your reflection in the mirror, you removed your beanie, letting your red hair cascade around your face. Your trembling fingers nervously ran through your hair as you tried to steady your breath and the hollow feeling in your stomach.

Your gaze shifted to your jacket pocket, where your phone was. A few notifications awaited your attention. You briefly read messages from your mom and your boyfriend. A small smile crossed your face as you read through Jimin's message.

Jimin: Hey baby... did you meet your dad?

You: I'm heading to their floor and feeling a bit nervous, though.

Jimin: Don't worry, listen to him, okay? Keep your cool.

You: I won't lose it. But I'm not sure what to say to him.

Jimin: Just let him explain, but be open-minded and forgive him. Maybe you'll feel better. I'm so proud of you for being brave. Ruby Red... I love you.

You: Thank you, Jims. Love you too. Are you heading home?

Jimin: Not yet. Got an interview and photoshoot with a fashion mag. My agency approved it. We'll be on a charter flight later tonight.

You: Australia wants a piece of you! Glad I'm not on social media.

Jimin: It's for the best. Social media's still buzzing. We're the hottest topic on Twitter, even in Seoul. Unfortunately, my agency had to clarify something to satisfy fans and the media. Ruby... I'm sorry. They confirmed we had a short relationship in 2017, but we called it off when I left. But we have fond memories of each other.

Your eyes widened in shock. Oh gosh! You'd be in trouble in Seoul. How would you hide? Jealous and toxic fans were on the hunt to harm you, not wanting their bias in relationships. The mystery had to remain intact. Jimin's enormous popularity meant everyone wanted to know the girls he and even his bandmates dated.

According to Melissa, online reports said that hair dye companies like L'Orรฉal and Garnier had seen a surge in orders for red shades. The 'Copper Passion,' a vibrant orange, sold out instantly after Esquire's article was released early. All thanks to ARMYs' buying power and BTS' Midas touch.

Garnier was baffled as their least popular dye suddenly flew off shelves. The magazine showed your hair as a sun-kissed, vibrant orange-copper hue, nearly impossible to replicate.

You: Oh, Jims. I'm going to be targeted unless there are other red-haired girls in Seoul I can blend in with.

Jimin: Lots of Asian girls are now rocking reddish hair. Some K-pop idols girls think I prefer red heads, which I totally do, but only yours. So don't stress, baby. You'll be okay.

You: I hope so.

Jimin: Heading to the mag office. Keep your phone on. Love you, Ruby, miss you already.

You: Love you too, Jims. Take care. I'll let you know when I'm online.

Your exchange continued until you bid each other farewell. You already missed him dearly. It all felt surrealโ€”officially dating a celebrity again. Jimin assured you that if you got any legal notices, he'd take care of the fines since he already had a soulmark. Your face flushed as you thought about the intense moments with Jimin during the weekend.

You received a text from your dear mother, who, along with an excited Becky, had arrived with Dr. Hyun in South Korea.

Mum: Hi Merida! We just landed at Incheon International Airport. It's huge! Hyun and I spotted a drama actress; Becky explained who she was. The place is immaculate. I hope you and your dad can mend bridges. Give him a chanceโ€”he loves you. Hyun's brother and sis-in-law are picking us up. We're meeting his mum. I'm letting Hyun's younger son have your numberโ€”just a heads-up. We had a great family dinner on Saturday; the kids are lovely. Take care, baby.

You smiled softly. You were grateful that your mum found love after 14 years. Jeez, it was about time Mum started looking after herself. Becky's about to graduate Year 12 and step into her adult life. This move's a biggie for her, deciding whether to switch to an International school in Korea, stick with Mum, finish the year back home with her mates and live with Bryant, or do online school for the rest of high school. She's the only one from her class with a pre-admission to SNU thanks to her top-notch classes.

After the term break, you'll finish your finals early and make a career call. Melissa's dead set on living it up in S.K. if she bags the converted job after internship. You reckon you won't feel settled. Your heart was set on heading to America, but with Jimin in the picture, you're feeling unsure.

Hoping the intern months will be exciting without Jimin casting a shadow over you. You're keen to soak up as much as possible at the famous game company.

You'll chat to Mum and Becky soon. You haven't even opened her messages, already arriving at the top floor of the hotel.

You gulp, a wave of dread suddenly hitting you hard. How will that first meeting be after all these years?

Taking a deep breath, you leave the safety of the elevator, slowly making your way to the hotel door. Your heart suddenly races. Nervously, you give the door a soft knock. Your legs feel like jellyโ€”you're not sure what to expect.

As the door opens slowly, your eyes meet the nervous dark eyes of the man who is your dad, and intense emotions flood both of you. You sense his teary and awed gaze on you, taking in your warm honey-brown eyes, your long, copper-red wavy hair flowing over your shoulder down your waist. He's taken aback by your beauty, as if he can't believe how much you've grown and how radiant you look. The intense emotions get the better of him as he sees your teary eyes.

"Ruby... oh, my beautiful Rubina!" his voice cracks with deep feelings of love and regret.

A/N: Ruby met her dad.
