   𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗿𝘂𝗯 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗱, slowly opening your eyes to see your vision is blurry then rub your eyes, you blink multiple times to get your vision stable. You see you're in a net and in some vehicle, you shift your eyes to Knuckles. 

   Knuckles was telling Eggman directions then in the corner of his eyes he sees you staring at him, so he glances at you which made you finch and bit your tongue. His stare made you feel intimidating by it, your ears pin down as you shuffle away from him slightly. 

'Does he fear me?'

   Knuckles thought, he hands Eggman the compass who happily takes it, Knuckles looks back at you then he decided to start a conversation.

"Hi hedgehog."

"It's Y/n."

   Knuckles takes in your name to memorize it.

"Why are you with the other hedgehog?"

"Cause you're after him and you want to kill him, isn't that kinda obvious why I would stay with him?"

   Knuckles was annoyed that you're defending Sonic but he kept calm even though his hands didn't show it (He was clenching the vehicle in jealousy 😏). You seemed to notice and sweat drop then you tilt your head.

"Why are you angry?"

"O-oh."

   Knuckles was surprised that you've noticed his anger/jealousy, he was awfully a bit flustered by how cute you looked when you tilted your head, it was like a puppy! He feels heat on his cheeks that soon covered his muzzle, the cold air didn't help either. 

   You deadpanned at him when he was silent, so you huffed and tug the net. It didn't budge as you shuffle in the net.

"Hey don't move around or else–"

"Ouch!"

   You flinch by a small shock on you body, it didn't hurt much but it stilled hurt, it sting your cut in your arm making you wince as you run it. Knuckles sighs in relief seeing it didn't do much damage on you but it did made him a bit furious that Eggman put you in a electric net that hurts you. It harms you.... He doesn't want that. Then again, you are powerful so it's kinda understandable to keep you in there.

"Why am I in here?"

"We don't trust you, well he doesn't."

   He answers almost growling at Eggman. You hummed and pulled your knees to your chest.

"Do you trust me?"

"W-what?"

   Knuckles eyes slightly widens as he stiffens up, he side eyes you then grumbles looking away more.

"No, n-not fully cause your sided with the hedgehog.."

"Ah, well I'm sided with him cause you're doing bad stuff."

"—You're hurting your dear mother."

"Help my son to realize of what he's doing is wrong."

   Knuckles raises a brow and turn his head at you. You looked back at him softening your eyes.

"All this? Is wrong, your on the wrong side Knuckles."

"Tch, you're wrong. That Sonic took everything from me."

"But it doesn't mean that you should do the same."

   You huffed feeling a bit annoyed by how stubborn he is to accept the truth, so you cross your arms and look up at him. Your position kinda made you look cute in Knuckles eyes.

'He looks adorable—Wait what. Why am I think such things?'

   His thought made him to flush in embarrassment, feeling his heart beating faster like it wants to pop out his of his chest, his head is clouded with denial of this feeling was making him have a headache, he hopes the cool air would help his heated face.

   His thoughts and feeling was stopped when Eggman laughs as he stops the vehicle.

"I know where the emerald is!"

"Really? You know where the master emerald is at?"

"Yup! Hand me a ring."

   Knuckles grabs out a ring and hands it to Eggman who later tosses it in the air. Your eyes slightly widen in fear of his knowledge about the emeralds location making you wonder if Sonic and Tails are alright– Wait.....

WHERE ARE THEY AT!!?

   You slightly panic and look at Knuckles.

"W-where's Sonic and Tails!?"

"We left them at the cold, FREEZING, mountains, and probably died during that snow avalanche!"

   Eggman answers, your facial expression change. Your eyes widen as you begin tremble, you face away from Knuckles as you grip your fist, you wanted to refuse the information but this pain felt familiar, it was a cut of pain that had come back by a substance to burn it alive. 

   Tears would've come out your eyes but you don't feel like crying, nor you feel like wailing, you instead sat there in silence as you listen to Eggman and Knuckles get off the vehicle, leaving you inside.

   Knuckles looks back at the floating vehicle in concern for you, he felt guilty but he did truly believed that they're still alive, he sighs and grabs the compass and leads Eggman inside the portal along with the drones and you inside the vehicle.

   You suddenly felt heat all around, you perk up to see a island with beautiful ocean blue and palm trees, you look around like a child in amazement of how tropical this looked. 

"The owls were fools to think they could hide this."

   Eggman paid no mind as he taps on his gloves that activates a scan, you peek over to see what's happening, of course you struggled to keep balance because of the net. Eggman kicks sand over revealing a carving, something clicked in Knuckles mind as places the compass down. 

   A sudden power rushed through your fur making you stumble down, you wince as green electric sparks around you, you clench on the net as you tried your best to contain the power. You suddenly hear rumble, you try to get up but you almost fall so you grab on the edge of the vehicle and look over.

   Then a sudden green light beamed to the skies, it blasted far and wide moving the waves and making the wind harsh, your eyes widen.

"Oh, no.."

   Your ears were hearing whispers from the light, they sounded faint but you can hear some words clearly.

"The emerald—

Power.

We plea for you.—-

   You whimper at Eggmans reaction cause he seemed a little too happy. Knuckles was surprised as he looks at the view with a gaped mouth. The light died out soon but the water all parted ways revealing a stairway down to the temple. 

   You lower yourself down and shut your eyes as you held a hand to your chest.

"Sonic, please be alive,..."

   𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗮𝗳𝗮𝗿 𝗼𝗻 𝗮 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝘀𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱, Sonic perks up hearing a faint voice.

"Y-Y/n!?"

    He instantly turned around to see no one but he sees a beamed of green light with dark clouds around it. Tom and Maddie look at the light with worried.

"Sonic,... What is that?"

"A big problem."

   Sonic looks back at Tom.

"The compass led Robotnik to the emerald."

"That's got to be hundred of miles away."

   Maddie exclaimed looking back the beam of light. Sonic furrow his brows in worry about the voice and clenches his fist.

"Y/n..."

   He whisper your name quietly, feeling something in his heart telling him to run to you. Keep running until he sees that you're alright. 

"All right, huddle up. Let's figure out a plan, Together."

"There's no time for that! I'm the only one that can get there fast enough."

   Sonic walks off to the shores but Maddie speaks up.

"Sonic this is way too for you to do by yourself."

   Sonic pauses as he frowns then turns around.

"You see that little fox over there?–" he looks at Tails who's unconscious and leaning against a palm tree "–He came all the way across the universe to meet his hero, and what did his hero do? I practically got him killed!"

   He feels guilt all over him then he shut his eyes for a bit to take a deep breath in.

"I have another f-friend over there who's in danger, he's captured by Eggman and this guy named Knuckles! I need to stop them and save Y/n!"

   Sonic huffs as he could feel more panic and guilt over him, Tom and Maddie look at him as they're confused and also surprised of a mention of another person. 

"You know what? You were right."

   Sonic looks down with his eyes closed and open again.

"My moment came and I blew it, I'm no hero..."

"Wait–"

"No. I'm not letting anyone else get hurt because of me,—"

'I won't let Y/n get hurt again.'

"—I'm gonna fix this while I still can."

   He zooms off leaving Tom and Maddie with Tails.

   𝗕𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗘𝗴𝗴𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗞𝗻𝘂𝗰𝗸𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝘄𝗮𝗹𝗸 𝗶𝗻, Knuckles pauses and looks at the vehicle where you're at.

"Oi, what will we do with other hedgehog?"

"Simple, we'll leave him."

"What! Why?"

"He'll be in the way and it would make it more hard to avoid traps with an insane powerful critter!"

   Knuckles furrow his brows and looks at the vehicle where he sees you peeking up with your ears to listen, he feels heat on his cheeks seeing the cute ears.

"I guess that's responsible..."

"Goodie! Now let's go! Off to get ULTIMATE POWER!!"

   Eggman marches down with a devious grin with his drones following behind, Knuckles looks back at you to see your ears gone.

    He grumble as he walks down, he was kinda happy you'll stay in the vehicle cause he doesn't want you to get more harmed or injured. It would hurt his heart to see you in that state–

'Why am I feeling so worried about the hedgehog?'

   He feels more heat on his face, he breathes out a shaky breathe of his frustration with you in his thoughts, I mean. Of course he will feel hurt seeing you hurt, in any physical or emotional, you're rather small and fragile looking, he wants to hold that small body for comfort and protection to keep you safe, you have a mind of a child a bit seeing how you're obvious and curious... 

   He would kill to make sure you're safe... Heck maybe Sonic too.

   With these thoughts he growls but he almost falls into a pit of quick sand, Eggmans drone picks him up and takes him to the other side. Eggman glares at him.

"Get your head out of loo-loo land and stay with the game!"

   He shouts. Knuckles grows a tick mark and snarls at him, he sits up and take a breathe taking you out his mind for a while...

"Let's go."
