Jocelyn walks in with an assaulter that they had to pick up. After chasing, fighting off the guy, Peña finally kicks him and slams him against the car and arrested him. She was annoyed by the way he swore he never touched her and she was a liar but the proof was all there that he did do it.
"Please, let me go. I swear I will never do it again." He promised Jocelyn as she makes her way through the unit. "I will never go near her again."
"Wait really?" She stops, looking at him. He smiles as she was looking like she had changed of heart. "In that case..."
"Seriously!"
"Hell no." She shoves him to keep walking. They made it to the cell and pushes him in.
"Come on baby, dont be like that." He hangs around the bars, reaching for Peña's attention again as the cell closed. Her lip curled as he called her baby. A monster called her that. It made her stomach turn. "Im telling you, she came onto me."
"Let me tell you something," she crossed her arms and leans forward to look at him. "I don't care what lame ass excuse you come up with, you ripped a woman's life away. She will never be the same because you couldn't handle your little feelings when she told you no, since you like to get everything you want." The man leans back, angry at her as she called him out. "Aw, don't be mad baby, its just the truth." She spat back him and she turns around to walk away.
Jocelyn sighs as tells the officers to get his prints and get the guy situated because she didn't not want to deal with him, so she goes to her desk and starts making her reports.
"How was romeo?" Amanda sits down by Jocelyn, bored out of her mind as she's on desk duty. Mostly she spent her time at work gossiping with Peña and attached to the vending machine all day. Its what kept her sane at the moment.
"Men like that exist, how?" She laughs.
"You know they think they are entitled brats." Amanda pulls out a candy bar from her pocket and snacks on it as Jocelyn worked. "You coming to my shower right?"
"Of course, i wouldn't miss it."
"Are you bringing a date?" Jocelyn stopped writing. She slowly turns to Rollins. "Im just saying, my mom is going to try and hook you up with one of my cousins, and trust me you dont want to be near them, beware."
"Manda, i think im gonna be fine. Date or no date." She smirks a bit. Since being living in New York, Amanda had tried to set Jocelyn up with some cops, and then Evelyn with some guys from work but she wasn't really interested. None of dates went well, because either they would get cut off from work calls or they got scared of the moment she would say she was divorced. Jocelyn just works and thats all she wants to do, because it felt like she had another job. Dating sucks. "Is every done for the baby?" Jocelyn switches the topic and leans back on her chair.
"Almost, probably going to call Carisi to come and build the stuff."
"Good thinking." She snaps her fingers. Amanda rubs her stomach, smiling softly at her belly. "Shes going to be beautiful, just like her mom." Amanda chuckles as she was given the compliment.
"Thanks Jo." Amanda stands up and walks around to stretch her legs . Jocelyn heads her way to the break room to get herself a snack and a refill of her cup of coffee. She zones out as she pours the caffeinated drink into her mug.
"Was that guy hitting on you Jocey?" Sonny walks in, taking his mug from the shelf and joined her side. "You know I could make him go away if you just say the word." Jocelyn smiles as she pours coffee into his cup.
"I can handle it Dom, its part of the job." She sips her black coffee. Sonny looks back at the holding cells to see the guy, face in hands. "At least i get to see a cute face every day." She elbows his arm, talking about him. Sonny smiles as he looks at her.
"Im glad that Fin brings you so much joy." They both cracked up. Sonny fumbles around his jacket, playing around with thick papers. Debating on what was the right time to show and ask her.
"Shut up." She still laughs.
"So i did something digging lately." Sonny chokes. Jocelyn didn't look away from him. "I was lucky enough to snag two of these from Brenton." He pulls out the two tickets that were in his pocket that he was fiddling on his way to work.
"What are these?" She takes a ticket to look closer.
"Two tickets to go see the Mets play."
"Wait? Are you serious?" She tries to wonder why. "Carisi..." She saw that they were playing against the Dodgers. He remembered.
"Mets vs. Dodgers, Sunday." He saw the smile that he created. He knew that the Mets played against the Dodgers soon into the season, hes a HUGE Mets fan. So when Jocelyn said she was into baseball and is a fan of the Dodgers, he knew it would be a great time to take her, make a move. "Wanna go?"
"As in a date?" She raised her chin, smiling up at him.
"Only if you want to make it as a date." He plays along.
"It's a date then." She hands him the ticket back. Sonny took a breath that he held in as she agreed. "I expect you to buy me drinks." He nods. "And when the Dodgers win-"
"If." He cuts her off. "If they win. Which I highly doubt they will." Jocelyn licked her lips.
"When they win." She still goes on. "You are going to have to say that I was right about them and wear their jersey for a day, the next time they play."
"Then i say this, when the Mets win, you will wear the jersey too and declare that they are the best team in baseball history." They shook on it. "I'll make sure to buy your jersey now." Jocelyn scuffs.
Fin watches the two from his desk, enjoying the show. He sips his coffee and takes it in. Amanda sits by him, to see what he was looking at.
"Barba or Carisi?" He asks her.
"Really?" Amanda shakes the thought. "Carisi." She immediately says as she sees Jocelyn placed her hand on Sonny shoulder.
"I dont know, Barba gets flustered when Peña is around, you saw him the day he met her. The man was making moves on her in front of us."
"Have you not heard those two? Come on." She pointed at them. "It's exhausting to sit there and watch them fail to realize that they like each other."
"Thats Carisi."
"Tell me about it."

Jocelyn had dug out her white and blue jersey from the closet. As she got ready, she prayed that they wouldn't be called in for work. For some reason, she was actually nervous to be out with Sonny. Yes they would go out for night caps, lunch, spend time studying and cooking, but this, this was serious. The man remembered the team she liked, bought tickets for her. That says something.
Evelyn was the only person who knew about this date. She was more excited than Jocelyn, she was more enthusiastic when she said it was Sonny that is taking her. Evelyn is a fan. She wanted every detail when she gets home and is going to watch the game just in case they show the two in the screen. Jocelyn laughs away.
Sonny parks his car in front of apartment complex and texts her that he is outside. He gets out of the car, waiting for her to come. Jocelyn hops down the steps, Sonny memorize as she walks up to him. The two wore their team jerseys, ready to see who would win tonight.
"Ready?" Sonny asks.
"Be prepared to get your ass kicked Dominick." He playfully rolled his eyes as he opened the door for her. The two talked about the players and how the team would have a shot to win. They walked into the stadium, Sonny reaching out for Jocelyn through the crowd. She held his hand, staying close.
"Beer?" She nods and he leads their way to the stands to get some drinks and away to their seats. Sonny lets her go first to sit. They got some good seats. "Favorite player of all time."
"Bob Welch, hands down." She praises. "Welch made 267 starts for the Dodgers and finished with a 3.14 ERA back in LA. He earned 115 victories, pitched in an all-star game, and helped Los Angeles win the World Series in 1981. He was my dad's favorite, he had his ball signed by him."
"Show off." Sonny laughs as he drinks his beer.
"Okay tough guy, whos yours?" She crosses her arms.
"David Wright. Nothing to say." The game starts. The two enjoyed their time, buy beer and cheering for their team. so far Mets were losing, Jocelyn was having a blast. Sonny covers his smiles as she cheers and yells at her team.
"Lets go baby! Show 'em how LA does it!" She yells.
"Hey man, you really had to bring a Dodger here." One of the guys in front of the turned to look at Sonny, annoyed at Jocelyn.
"Hey man, take it down a notch." Sonny frowns. Jocelyn sits back down. "We are here to have fun."
"I would be having fun if there wasn't a screaming bitch behind me." Sonny stands up from his seat, risking it all. He saw red as he called Jocelyn a bitch.
"Dom, dont." She stands too, taking his hand to stop him from arguing with the drunk guy. "Just sit." Sonny mumbles that he was getting more drinks, leaving her. Jocelyn sits down and waits for him. It was the mets turn to swing. Sonny comes back. "Just ignore them si? Just you and me, that's all that matters." She smiled softly, earning a nod from him.
It was finally Sonny's turn to be obnoxious for his team. He hollers, calls, whistles. Jocelyn sits there, unbothered but still hoping that her team wont disappoint.
"Should we go buy that jersey? Im thinking Wright." He teases.
"Relax, i still have hope." the night went on, it got colder. Jocelyn leans against Sonny for warmth, he put his arm around her. She had been drinking and she was getting a bit too happy. Soon as the Dodgers hit a home run, winning the game, she immediately stands up, cheering and clapping. "Take that Dom! I was right!" She gets in his face. Sonny holds her, trying to not have her fall. "Say it!"
"You were right." He smiles.
"LA BABY!" She yells. "You are in for a treat!"
"Oh I bet." He waits for the other fans to leave so he had space and tike to help her get out. "Let's get you home, yeah?" He holds her, stumbling out and into the parking lot. Jocelyn kept talking about the game, but ended up talking about delicious those pretzels were. "Okay out you go." Sonny helps her out of the car and he helps her to her apartment.
"You know..." She leans against the door frame, as Sonny looks for her keys. "I had a great time."
"So did I."
"I would like this to continue." Her words her flying out. "Because I honestly think you are really cute and we should definitely do this more. No more night caps, more dinners." Sonny laughs as drunk Jocelyn is more bold. "Like you are really cute."
"Thank you. I like to say that you are cute too." She wrinkled her nose from his compliment.
"Great." She hums. "I want to take you to Amandas baby shower."
"Sure, i will go with you." He agrees. This is actually happening. "You can be my date."
"Good. But we cant let the others know, they will tell Tucker and especially Dodds." She is just adorable drunk. "I like to keep this going."
"So do I."
"Good night Dominck, i will see you at work." She tries to open the door. Sonny helps her out. As Jocelyn looks at Sonny, she looks at his lips, fighting the urge to kiss him. She knew better. She was actually beating herself to not do it. Sonny leans in but she places her hands on his chest. "Not yet..." She whispers. "I want you to earn it." This girl knew how to play, even drunk.
"Ill be waiting then." He gives her back her keys. "Good night Jocey, i had a great night." Jocey hides behind her door, waving and closing it gently. She kicks off her shoes and collapsed on the couch and slept the night there.
Sonny chuckles to himself as she closed the door. He will definitely wait for her. Jocelyn Peña has won his heart and he will never change that.
