At the leadership camp
Have you ever experienced that intense, never-ending anguish that tears away at your bone and marrow, destroying all of your life force? The anguish of heartbreak feels like that. You could now relate to Lord Byron's declaration that "The heart will break but broken live on" since the anguish felt like a hot poker in your fragile heart.
Dahyun's determination wavered before her crush, as she observed his serious and unyielding stance. As she gazed tearfully at the tiny crowd that witnessed the entire spectacle, she felt humiliated, deeply rejected, and devastated. His friends were standing there with dropped jaws, shocked at their calm friend, who turned on so harshly at the poor girl who confessed to him.
He informed her bluntly and firmly that he didn't like her back, and even worse, his girlfriend appeared with a smug look, clasped his arm, and led him back to the entertainment area. Dahyun's confession was likewise exposed too late to her two friends. Since she and her crush were being seen by an audience, they wanted to stop her confession and advised her against doing so.
In front of the breathtaking waterfall, Dahyun drops onto the green, wet grass, letting tears and sad cries escape her throat. She wrapped her torso with her arms to protect herself from the invisible sorrow."As she cried out, her friends rushed to her to comfort and embrace her. Time seemed to be in limbo when she stood up with her cheeks wet with tears, still sobbing.
Dahyun decided right there and then never to confess to a boy that she liked him because that would probably shatter her heart beyond repair.
She got led back to the cabin by her two enraged friends, where Luna, their other friend, continued to nap off.
Seulgi ranted angrily, pacing the room, as Dahyun cried onto Chaeyoung's shoulder, her tears clear, loud, and heartbreaking.
Hearing the commotion in the little lounge, Luna's quick curiosity and intense worry about the situation drew her from the warm bed and she exited the room.
"What happened?" As she walks up to her friends, Lunas peaks in a concerned whisper. Tears were running down Dahyun's face.
As her voice pierced into silence, Chaeyoung took a deep breath. It was cutting with fury, "Soobin didn't simply turn her away, "Right in front of our enemies, he brutally tore her apart, piece by piece," Chaeyoung remarked, waving her hands wildly around.
"Dahyun dared to face Soobin and finally express her feelings to him, and the bloody idol cruelly broke her heart. What the hell! He informed her he never liked her and would never even want to date her, saying she was living in a kind of dark fantasy." She continued.
Luna sensed the sadness in Dahyuns' brokenness. She whispered, "How could he be so cruel...he seems so warm and sweet?" Seulgi snorted but was still fuming as she rushed to the kitchenette area to get Dahyun a glass of water.
Chaeyoung's expression was solemn, but her eyes were filled with empathy, "We got there just in time. It was hard to watch," Chaeyoung admitted. "Yeah we were all so shocked because Soobin's always been this quiet boy, but this... this was so different. It was as if something lit a fuse. He even told her she was just like a sasaeng stalker and that she needed to grow up and stop bothering him. He was so tired of her love confession for two years. And when she tried to explain herself, to tell him that she really liked him and she just wanted him to know that, he just shrugged her off like she was nothing, gosh!"
Seulgi returned and handed the glass to Dahyun, who took a sip with trembling hands.
Seulgi looked up, her expression severe with inner anger as she explained. "Dahyun was so courageous to go to Soobin. I would never, but she finally told her crush how she felt, and he was so cold. He told her she was living in a dream world, that he never liked her and never would. He said he was sick of her pushing him to accept her love, that she knew he liked Park Eunbin for years and that they're dating now, even if it's not allowed in the music business, but his agency allows them to have puppy love relationships. He told her to just accept it and move on."
Seulgi continued; her words were vividly painting a picture of Soobin's cruel rejection, "He was so irritated by her questions and the way he spoke to her... I've never seen him like that, so fierce. He is usually the quiet and reserved one. He accuses Dahyun of becoming a stalker fan and that he hates stalkers and clingy fangirls. Can you believe that? It was brutal."
Chaeyoung nodded swiftly, her expression sombre as she added, "He just turned and walked away after that. Eunbin was there too, looking smug, and she dared to tell Dahyun that she should've known better than to confess love to a boy who was already in a relationship. Can anyone be so stupid also that Soobin never liked Dahyun and that he never will? It broke our friend."
Chaeyoung continued, "---And then as if it wasn't bad enough, Lia, Ruyin, and Yeji came over and practically mocked Dahyun while she was standing there crying so sadly. Dahyun couldn't take it—she just ran, sobbing, all the way to the chalet with us in tow."
The image of the sunny Dahyun, devastated, broken, and humiliated, tore at their friends' heartstrings. The hurt and pain that she had to experience were severe for her sensitive heart, being rejected so openly and so harshly in front of Soobin's friends, their enemies, and his girlfriend.
Dahyun's bewildered, devastated eyes were tearing at all of her friends'' hearts as she jumped up, excused herself, and fled to her room...
