I held flowers in my hand as I sat before the graves, resting my head on my hand.
I laughed softly, "Don't think we've forgotten about you..."
My lips trembled, fighting back the urge to cry.
After all, I have to remain strong, right?
I let the most beautiful ice flowers bloom around their graves.
Gojo sat on a rock, his arms stretched out over his knees, "Heart to heart..."
I smiled at Riko's grave, which was filled with red roses that Geto had placed there.
"Geto still hasn't completely moved on from her," he chuckled somewhat sadly, and I glanced at him.
He looked pensive.
"Would you forget someone you loved so much after their death, or would you do anything to bring that person back?"
He surprised me with that question.
I had to think about it and looked at the graves, then back at Gojo, and said hesitantly, "Hmm, probably... do anything to bring that person back?"
I sighed, "But that's absurd. How could you bring back a dead person?"
He smiled at me, and I could swear I saw a flicker of sorrow in his eyes.
"You're right..."
I looked at him, confused. I took a deep breath, stood up, straightened my skirt, and looked at him.
"Aren't you going to get up?"
He scratched his neck and stood up, "Right."
We walked away from the graves, my hands behind my back. Five days had passed since the meeting at Shoko's, and I've been sleeping at Gojo's.
Funny, isn't it?
He tousled my hair, "I need to go see Yuji real quick. Is it okay if I leave you alone?"
I looked at him dumbfounded, "I'm not a child."
He laughed and left, "See you later."
I smiled after him and continued walking. Geto should be coming back from a mission today. I looked surprised at the main gate.
Speak of the devil!
I waved to him, "Hey, idiot, come join us!"
But something was different about him.
I whispered to myself, "Why does he look so grim?"
Has something happened?
Geto came to me, looking beaten. There were bloodstains on his face. He was wearing a white shirt with beige pants, his hair tied back.
I asked worriedly, "Hey, everything okay?"
He shook his head slightly, desperate, "I... I failed the mission."
He looked at his hand, traumatized.
I placed a hand on his shoulder, "What happened?!"
Geto breathed somewhat frantically, "I was supposed to go to a village... there had been frequent monster sightings. Twins were born there, and there's a myth that they bring misfortune. Before I could intervene, the villagers and the parents killed the two little ones, aged five, right before my eyes..."
I gasped in shock, "What?!"
He looked at me, traumatized, "I was so close to... to ki-.." He didn't finish the sentence, just swallowed hard and walked away, desperate.
I wanted to stop him, but he raised his hand, "No, Miura... please, I need some time for myself..."
I looked concerned, "But Geto!"
He just shook his head and walked away.
I need to inform Gojo!
