I see people sitting in a room
Laughing and having fun
There is only joy around
For sorrow, a place none.

I look around my empty room
My family screaming in the next
With no one to talk to,
I switch to the comfort of text.

How can you miss someone you've never met?

I read tales of love
One that consumes your being
You'd give your life for them,
A love that doesn't bind, but is freeing.

I feel my empty heart
With no one to love
I remind myself, my life has just begun,
But who knows when i'll go above?

I crave for that feeling,
Of complete fullness
Of love, laugh and joy,
Of never-ending goodness.

They say the world is cold,
That life is uncertain,
And how can it be full,
When i'm not sure of myself as a person?

so i pick up my phone again
Call some friends who always 'forget',
And with a sad smile on my face i wonder,

"How can you miss someone you've never met?"
