002

"Once a killer, always a killer."

I woke up with a throbbing headache, in a split of a second my eyes began to flutter open. The sharp bright light banged against my skull.

"Fuck." I moaned. I tried to touch my temple but instead I felt restraints forcing my hands down. I looked down to my wrists, only to find cuffs in prisoning my hands. The cuffs wrapped all the way up to my wrists, and the chains were attached to different sides of the room. I couldn't see the skin of my hands only the metal that wrapped around it.

I could feel another solid chain around my neck, keeping me from moving only a short distance.

This was my first time getting caught, in my 16 years of experience I've never once gotten caught. There was a part of me that was burning in hell and the child in me who just wanted to sleep.

I sealed my eyes shut, trying to avoid the shining bright light that raged through my brain. The room had three cemented walls and one black glass window.

"She's up" A man's voice filled the empty but loud silence. I heard a commotion from the other side.

"What do you Idiots want?" I spat out, knowing the people who stood behind the screen. I look down at my cuffed hands as my hair draped down on my face.

"Morning Alina had a good night's rest? Sure hope you did, you were asleep for a whole 2 days. We honestly thought you were dead, not saying it's a bad thing because it's not." None only then thee Tony Stark began to blabber.

Two days? That has been the best rest I've had since I was 5.

"I could smell your cologne through this thick glass, Stark." I smirked.

I could hear the older man basically have a tantrum on the other side of the room. I genuinely tried so hard to not laugh but it was the hardest thing I have ever had to do. "How do you expect us to work with her if that's how she acts." My smile faded and my face deadpans.

"Tony stop acting like a child and leave the room, along with the rest of you." A firm voice spoke, ordering the avengers who were in the room to leave.

"We have an offer for you, Miss. Solovkov" The man spoke again.

"Wait wait don't tell me, don't tell me." I paused trying to guess what he wanted. "You need my help!" I joked, my head was still looking at the silver cuffs that held my hands.

He sighed before speaking again, "Natasha Romanoff is one of the most talented spies and assassins in the entire world and a founding member of the avengers. As a child, she was indoctrinated into the Red Room by General Dreykov. You know him, right?"

"Yes yes, what is the point of this? Are you trying to tell me something or what the fuck." I cursed getting annoyed by the 'Follow your mentor's footsteps to heaven' Lecture.

"If you let me get to it, I would tell you." He barked, "More and more dangerous assassins are come out of the Red Room and we need to put an end to it." He firmly informed.

As soon as the words left his mouth a burst of laughter flooded the silence. I continued to laugh to the point where I laid on the floor and rolled of how funny it was.

Even though I couldn't see him, I could feel his annoyance. "It's not a joke." He stood firm, not even cracking a smile.

I felt a cold tear fall down my cheek. "Oh, oh you're serious." I quickly sat back up. "Your plan is to 'destroy the Red Room', That's impossible."

"No, it's not." He denied, I tilted my head out of confusion. I quickly grinned as I caught along to what he was proposing.

"Come on say it, you know you want to say it." I smirked.

I could hear the man's irritation, "I'm not saying shit."

"Okay okay, but why would I want to help you?" I asked trying to seem not interested.

"Because It's the only option you got, and because you want to do it more than we want to do it." He acted like he knew what I wanted it. I mean he's not wrong, I wanted out and no matter how much I tried to escape I could never leave. Of course, I wanted the normal life, with the picket fence and the five kids with the husband and all but at the end of the day, I was never made for it.

I quickly changed the subject, "And how do you expect me to help you when I'm strapped up to chains in a cell?" I threw my hands out but was quickly caught by the chains.

"We had to take extra precautions, you're not really trustworthy, Alina." The voice said as I heard him grab a seat.

"My ass, I'm very trustworthy." I scoffed as I was trying to find things that I'm innocent in.

"You killed 189 people in a day. A god can't even do that." He scoffed.

"I know because I am a god," I smirked. "What's in it for me." I stood serious and looked at him through the tinted black glass.

"The avenger's protection. You won't get hurt or be found by the red room. A normal life, a home." He offered, everything seemed too good to be true, to be real.

"I don't need your protection." I spat, denying his offer. "I've lived a complicated life, and I dont need your bogus team's protections. I'm still alive and healthy." I bluffed,

"Really? Because the bruise on your collarbone says otherwise." I shot my eyes down to my neck to try find the bruise but I couldn't look in that angle.

He was right, if they even find out that I step foot in a room with one of the avengers that doesn't invole me killing someone, I'd be dead. And to say the less, who knows what they could do to me this time. "My answer is no." I blurted out, the rush of emotions splattered out. I was losiing a couple breaths as the multiple thoughts filled my head.

"Alright then, we'll just lock you up in one of the most heavily guarded maximum security prison. I'm sure the Raft would love to have you, especially the prisoners." He chuckled, as the man got up him seat. "Like I need The Daeva Widow on my team, what an utter mess she would have caused." I know he was just trying to say that to get into my head but that was a low blow, even that hurt.

"Okay okay, I'll do it." I stood up from the floor. The chain around my neck forced me down. "I'll do it" It's not like I have much of a choice, I'd be dead anyways, half the people in the prison is in there because of me.

"Good, well start working tomorrow. The team will come in and have you settled in, along with some rules you have to follow." I heard him from across the room this time, shortly after the door closing. I instantly fell back on the floor, my legs and knees hit the cold pavement from the lack of use that I've used them in the past two days. My back arched from how tired and bruised I must have been, I felt every inch of pain sorrowing through my body. Along with a big pinch on my leg, which felt like stitches peeling off my skin.

I sat in complete utter disbelief, my mind was banging of a headache and my body began to shake. One of my major problems growing up was having to know every person's scream from when I would have to slaughter them. Men, women, children, old people, even animals at some point. They never gave me the ability to forget, to go on autopilot, nothing. Only the chance of killing or being killed.

I gave up trying to escape when I was 13, when they would find me again they would throw me in an empty room, chain me by the neck and leave me there for a couple of days without water or food. But now I'm just strolling through life at this point, trying to get past the tunnel, you know the whole metaphor shit you hear.

I groaned before letting out an annoying stubborn tear, "This was probably a trap from the beginning."

"I think you're right." I snapped my head up, letting my guard down for a split second a voice appeared out of thin air.

"Holy fucking shit, what the fuck!" I cursed out to the figure. Silence hollowed out, waiting for them to respond but no one did.

"So you're just going to fucking scare me and not say anything."

"What is there to say to whatever you said." The voice seemed familiar.

"What was the whole point of being so blunt?" I growled, I heard a small laugh. The only laugh who came to mind was James, it was always that annoying low pitched giggle that always made me gag.

I chuckled, "Barnes." I rolled my eyes, "I knew it was you, That fucking evil chuckle of yours that kills orphans."

"I see you're still a jokester."

"And you're still that creepy figure always lingering in the shadows, how's sleep treating you?" i sneakered.

"I forgot how cruel you were." I could hear Barnes's teeth grind against each other. I know it was a joke, I was laughing but i didnt show the emotion.

"dickhead." I cursed underneath my breath, in some way that affected me.

"I heard that you would be staying with us."

"You heard correct, Im going to be an Avenger." I left a villainous grin plastered on my face, barnes scoffed.

"You will never be apart of this team." He growled which caused me to pump with exhilaration.

"oh... Oh and you are? Trust me Barnes, You've killed more than I could have in a day." I Laughed, disregarding the loud tension between us.

"At least the closest thing I have for a family is still alive. In which I didn't have to kill them with a smile on my face."

I would say something back but why would I? I could hear movement beyond the glass, it gives me enough time to let my grin fade. "You know they'll come for me though."

"We made sure of that, we took your tracker out. You're off the grind, dead eve-" Barnes went on but i shortly cut him off.

"Ya Ya Ya I know how it works, no need to tell me how it goes... smartass." The pressure of my annoyance and the grip of the cuffs was causing me a massive pressure between my temples.

Beyond the glass there was faint voices that I could make out, "thank you." Barnes spoke. The door closed, leaving a loud silence.

Shortly after, the door opens from the side of the glass revealing Sergeant Barnes. The man was holding a pile of clothes and some other items.

"Wow, they're really throwing me out there, so cute they're that desperate that they need an active assassin's help." I chuckled, He walks towards me.

In his butt pocket were a pair of keys, he gently puts down the items and grabs the keys in one movement.

"You sure you want to do that?" I gave him a look but he quickly ignored it.

"You wouldn't hurt me, no matter the crazy bitch you are." He scoffs, his hands were steady showing no fear. This was weird for me to experience. He wasn't scared, he didn't move, he was sure I wouldn't hurt him.

"What are you even doing here solider? Still killing with the old hydra?" He said as he removed the chain around my neck.

"I quit that life." His voice was firm, no emotion could reveal what he was thinking.

I looked at his gloved hand, knowing what it hid. "Once a killer always a killer." I played with him.

"Yup, well once a bitch always a bitch." He snapped back, he didn't show any fear to it either.

He continue to remove the chains around my body. He moved to the hand area, gently taking one cuff at a time. He released my hand from the prison, "Dont even think about it." He warned without taking his eyes off the second cuff he was working on.

"I am impressed." I chuckled.

"Ya well you're not the first and I promise you that you wouldn't be the last. Put these on." He passed me the fabric that laid on the floor.

I took them from his hands, revealing my bare skin. I quickly skimmed through to find a sweatshirt, old stark industry sweatpants, leather gloves, and a pair of tennis shoves. He kept his eyes on me inspecting the pair of gloves.

"Put those on, you take them off and we won't take it easy on you. We're trusting you, you fuck up and i'm the first one to put a bullet through your skull." He threatened before leaving the room, he spoke again. "We'll all be waiting for you in the lounge, get ready for your ground rules talk."
