All My Sounds, Drown Out To The Ocean

"So, did everyone else get interviewed?" Ethan asks as the group settles into the beach house.

"Yeah," Sienna says, playing with her nails. "They kept asking me weird questions, like if I had an urge to murder Sophie."

She glances around at the group, frowning. "They acted like I was targeting her. Which is weird... Why would they think that?" Her gaze lingers, noticing how some of the group shift uncomfortably.

"Anyway, why are we even meeting here?" Jasper asks, ignoring the question.

"Nobody asked you to come," Sienna snaps.

"Lila, my girlfriend," Jasper retorts, making everyone respond with a collective "Oh," their tones a mix of shock and confusion.

"And they interviewed him, for some reason," Lila adds, gesturing toward Jasper.

The group lets out another round of murmured "Ohs," this time in realization. Lila, seated with her girl group, claps her hands together. "That actually makes sense," she says with a small, triumphant smile.

"You guys don't mind me, right?" Jasper asks nervously, breaking the silence. The group exchanges glances but doesn't respond, leaving the air tense.

"The weird thing is," Riley begins, shifting the topic, "they said these murders have something to do with our mom's past." She gestures between herself and Lila.

"Yeah," Lila chimes in. "We knew she had struggles in her past with... well, some kind of killer. But how does this connect to her now?"

"Wait, what's your mom's name?" Ethan asks as he moves toward a laptop sitting on the counter.

"Olivia Monroe," Lila answers.

"And where did you guys live before?" Ethan questions while booting up the computer.

"Woodsboro, California," Lila replies again, watching him log in and start typing.

"Wait—look at this," Riley says, pointing at the first search result on the screen. "What's that headline? Survivor of Woodsboro may have escaped her terror only to face tragedy later..."

Ethan clicks on the link, and the group leans in as the page loads.

"Whoa," someone murmurs as the article appears.

"One of the survivors of the 1996, 1997, 2000, and 2011 incidents before moving to an unknown location, according to sources," Ethan reads aloud.

"Some say she was tragically affected by the 1997 incident, retreating from the public eye entirely, or perhaps by 2011, when she seemingly vanished," the article continues.

"She was really pretty when she was younger," Luna remarks, peering at an old photo of Olivia on the screen. "Too bad she's emotionally scarred now."

"Did you ever think the murders were committed by a hot boyfriend of hers?" Sienna asks, nonchalantly. Everyone snaps their heads toward her, wide-eyed.

"It's always the good-looking ones," Sienna mutters with a shrug.

"So you think this killer is possibly connected to my mom because of the Woodsboro murders?" Riley asks, her tone skeptical.

"It's not just possible—it's true," Ethan interjects, his fingers still hovering over the keyboard.

"Okay, so that means one of us is possibly the murderer," Riley says, scanning the group. "That rules Sophie and Lily out because, you know..."

Ethan nods in agreement. "Right. So it's down to you, Lila, Luna, Sienna, Jasper, and me."

"What about Daniel?" Luna asks, her voice tentative.

"He's too obvious," Sienna says with a dismissive wave. "Plus, he's just a desperate douchebag. If it were him, he would've snapped and killed us all at the assembly." She exhales dramatically.

"Now we're down to seven," Lila remarks, eyeing the group.

"Okay, let's break this down," Sienna says, leaning forward as if she's solving a mystery on TV. "Riley and Lila—legacy characters. The main girls. The potential final girls. You're tied to your mom's past, so if you were the killers, it would make no sense."

Riley and Lila exchange unsure glances, not knowing how to respond.

"Then there's Lila—best friend," Sienna continues, pointing at her. "Found the body, yet somehow wasn't there when it happened? And she's conveniently home most of the time. Super weird."

"Hey!" Lila protests with a pout.

"Sorry, but true," Sienna mutters unapologetically.

"Next, Luna," Sienna says with a smirk. "She's in fairy tale land half the time and is clearly still in the closet. If she did murder someone, it might actually make sense."

"What? And I'm not!" Luna snaps, her voice getting high-pitched each time.

"Denial is a river in Egypt," Sienna quips with a smirk, earning a groan from Luna.

"Jasper," Sienna continues, shifting her focus. "Lila's boyfriend. Top suspect—classic case."

"Okay, now you're just making stuff up," Jasper says, with a dry laugh.

"And then me," Sienna says with a dramatic hand gesture. "Sure, I act like I'd kill someone, but I totally wouldn't."

"I beg to differ," Lila mutters, making the group burst into giggles, even Jasper chuckling.

"Finally, Ethan," Sienna concludes, turning toward him. "The boy who's too nice to be innocent. Suspiciously nice."

Ethan's head jerks back. "Okay, half is true, you're the most suspicious here. You literally make threats and insults like it's a whole personality," he fires back.

"And maybe Daniel is still a suspect," Riley points out. "He's fishy, and I wouldn't rule him out just yet."

"Well, we don't know anything for sure," Sienna says, her voice trailing off. Suddenly, a faint noise catches her attention.

The back door creaks open.

Sienna freezes, her breath hitching in her throat as her head snaps toward the sound. Slowly, she gets up and walks toward the door.

"Who opened this?" she whispers, her voice trembling as the room falls silent.

"No one...." Riley says as the group quiets down, as they walk behind her.

Each step getting quieter and quieter as the wind blows. Out of nowhere, the killer jumps out, making Sienna's eyes widen as they use the bottom of the knife to knock her out on the ground, making everyone scream.

The killer then tilts their head before heading towards the group, making them back away and try to run out the door, but the killer catches up to them and grabs Riley by her hair, about to stab her in the chest.

"Riley!" Lila yells as she holds her boyfriend's hand.

"Not my best friend!" Lila yells, as she kicks the killer away, which makes them fall to the floor. Lila grabs Riley and drags her with them to the door.

They try to open the door, but it's locked.

"Who locked the door?!" Lila yells.

They all see the killer get back up and decide to rush upstairs, but the killer runs after them, grabbing Luna and throwing her to the ground.

Before going after the others, they keep running up the stairs and running to separate rooms to find an open window.

The killer follows Riley and Ethan, who try to open the window, but it's locked. When they turn around, they are met with Ghostface running at them.

Riley dodges and falls to the ground, while Ethan, who was a little late, gets stabbed in the stomach against the window, making it break.

Riley screams as Ghostface pulls the knife up on Ethan before pulling it out. They kick his limp body out the window, making the whole window break as he falls out.

When he falls, Riley hears his body grunt and blood spatter, making Riley's jaw drop.

After that, Ghostface tries to stab Riley but only slices her arm. Jasper and Lila come out of nowhere and run into Ghostface, slamming them into the wall and making them fall to the ground.

Jasper grabs them for a second and punches them before helping Riley up.

"We found a window, let's help get the others and get out," Lila says as they grab each other before running out to grab the others.

They got to the others in time. Lila was helping Sienna, whose head was bleeding, while Luna had gotten up and was with them.

"Okay guys, it's small but it's open, so squeeze in and hurry up!" Jasper says as he helps Lila out the window, which was above where the ocean was, and she fell right in before screaming.

"You good, babe?" Jasper yells out as Lila pops up from the water.

"Just a little cut, now come on!" Lila yells as Jasper helps Riley out the window next, who lands right next to her sister and pops back up.

"Wait, I think we need somebody to hold you while you jump in. One of you girls can do it," Jasper says to Sienna, then the girls, but they shake their heads.

"No, Lila needs you and you helped us so much. You go first," Luna says.

"But will you guys be okay?" Jasper asks.

"Yeah, we got this," Lila says as she and Luna nod.

"You guys sure?" Jasper asks once more.

"Yes! Now go!" both of them say.

Jasper then looks at the two before holding onto Sienna's head and body as they push through the window and jump into the ocean next to the sisters.

"Okay, Luna, you go next," Lila says, making Luna turn her head in confusion.

"What, n—" Luna is cut off by Lila, who yells for her to go.

Luna then heads toward the window, holding onto it.

"But, Lila—" Luna gets cut off by Lila.

"It's okay, we're all going to escape—" Lila says, holding Luna's hand, but her hand lets go of Luna's as Lila falls to the ground with a knife in her back, making Luna scream out for Lila.

But her eyes widen when she sees Ghostface, and she freezes, but Lila sees this and pushes her out.

"Go!" Lila yells as Luna falls into the water. Ghostface pulls the knife out of her and pulls her up against the window, trying to choke her.

As the others yell out for her, she kicks him back with all her strength, and he lets her go.

Lila then falls to the ground and tries to catch her breath while trying to get out the window.

She slowly gets half her body out, which makes the group cheer and her smile, but then out of nowhere, the window drops on her stomach, making the front part of her body drop as she screams in pain.

Ghostface then sees this and pulls it up before dropping it on her again, making her scream, and he does it again, making her still scream out as he keeps doing it until he stops.

Before pulling her head back by her hair and knocking it against the window, over and over, until he stops. She gasps, and then her body falls out of the window like a rag doll into the water.

Making the others wonder where she went as they scream out her name, but they couldn't find her. So Riley dips her head into the water and finds her body under, and tries to drag her up but notices some blood in the water. She turns the back of Lila's body to find a knife in the back of her head, making her scream.

(Author's Note: Jaw-dropping, who do you think the killers are, is someone lying? Is someone faking injuries or deaths?)
