I lay on the hood of the Cruiser at our school parking lot, my legs hanging off of the edge where Hyde and Kelso sit.
"Man, where the hell is Eric?" Michael whines. "I've got to get out of here before Jackie finds me."
"What did you do now?" Steven asks.
"I didn't say 'I love you' after lunch. I do it all day! After gym, 'Love you, Jackie.' After algebra, 'Love you, Jackie.' Hell, after I say, 'Love you, Jackie,' I say, 'Love you, Jackie.' It sickens me!"
I sit up and wrap an arm around each of their shoulders. "You'll get used to it."
"Hey, man, check it out," Hyde grins, pointing to the car next to us. "Foggy windows."
"Bummer," Kelso sighs. "Someone must have left their hot lunch in their car."
"No, you idiot, someone's in there making out, man."
I tilt my head and glance at the black, steamy car. "That's kind of hot," I mutter.
The boys turn to me with raised eyebrows and I shrug. "What?"
Suddenly, the door closest to us and a girl that I vaguely recognize stumbles out.
"Patty!" Hyde calls as she turns.
"Wh- Oh, hey Hyde," she stutters. "How are you doing?"
"Super," he smirks.
An awkward moment passes. "Okay, well, I'll see you."
As she rushes away, Mike asks, "Hey didn't you go out with that girl?"
"I don't think so," he deflects.
A bell rings in my mind. "Oh, wait, that's the girl that dogged you on that blind date, isn't it?"
"Who cares?" he scoffs. "Let's see what loser she ended up with." He carefully opens the side door and Fez appears in front of us.
"Hello."
"Burn!" Kelso yells as I giggle into his shoulder. "Man, that was a burn."
"Thank you for your advice, Anastasia," Fez smiles. "I put it to good use."
"You're welcome, Fezzie."

Holding up Hyde's Rolling Stones '75 Tour shirt, I contemplate folding it or just stealing it.
I shrug, slipping it over my head and tucking it into the waistband of my bell-bottoms.
"Princess, you're supposed to help me do the laundry, not take my shit," the owner of the shirt sighs.
I smile at him. "Sorry. I told you I'd steal this one."
"You're insufferable."
"Ooh, fancy words."
"Get bent."
I laugh, turning my attention to Patty, who Fez has introduced to us as his girlfriend, and Jackie, who stands by us and chats with her.
"I guess Fez really got me with all of the poems he left in my locker."
"Oh, that is so romantic!" Jackie gushes.
"Well, doesn't Kelso write you poems?"
"No, but he isn't foreign."
"Hey, can we talk about something interesting?" Steven butts in, annoyed.
I lightly hit his arm and lead him away from the girls.
"The Eagles are on Don Kirsner's Rock Concert tonight," Kelso announces.
"Bitchin'!" I grin. Hyde pulls me onto his lap as he sits on the stairs.
"Oh, man, I'm going to miss Eagles because I've got to... I've got to... I'm busy."
"What are you busy doing?" I tease.
"Do we have a date?" Donna asks nervously.
"No, I wish," he grumbles. "I'm going to a movie. With my mom."
"He's got a special night out with mommy," Hyde taunts, smacking my hand away as I attempt to poke his Zeppelin shirt.
"Hey, maybe you'll get lucky," Michael shrugs obliviously.
We stare at him in confusion, with the looks that we typically give Fez when he says something strange.
"And your mom will pay for the movie!" he explains. "God, you people are sick!"
"We should go to the mall together so I can introduce you-" Jackie starts, speaking to her new friend.
"Are you ready to go, darling?" Fez interrupts.
"Excuse me, Fez, I was talking."
"Oh, I know, Jackie. You are always talking."
A "Burn!" erupts from Kelso as he looks up from his TV guide. "Sorry, I just appreciate a good burn."
"So where are you guys going?" I ask politely.
"We are going to the Red Lobster for a romantic dinner," the foreign boy beams.
The door shuts and Jackie immediately stomps to Fez's seat. Steven coaxes me off of his lap and leads me to his chair so we can switch seats.
"I don't like her," the raven-haired girl complains. "I don't see why we have to be nice to her just because she's dating someone in our group."
"Bites the big one, doesn't it?" Hyde grins, no doubt thinking about our current situation with her dating Kelso.
She gives him a nasty look as I point out that they were nice to James for the most part.
"But he was cute," she says, waving it off. Kelso, of course, doesn't hear it, since his nose is still stuck in the guide.
"Well, I've got to go to work," Steven announces, trying to scoot me away.
"I'm not getting up," I huff.
"Why?"
"Because your lap is comfortable."
"Man, get up."
I roll my eyes, standing before reclaiming his chair.
"Don't you hate her, Donna?" Jackie hisses, still seething about Patty.
"No, I actually kind of like her," the redhead shrugs.
As Hyde closes the door behind him, Jackie hits her boyfriend harshly.
"What was that for?" he yelps.
"For not writing me poems!"
I smirk. "It sounds like someone's jealous."
"I am not jealous!"
I shake my head fondly. "Okay, well, I'm going to go pick up some photos. I'll see you guys later."
By the time I step outside, Hyde is long gone, but I quickly drive over to the FotoHut in my car.
Upon entering the small shop, I'm blasted with the smell of weed. My eyes sting slightly from the unexpected amount of smoke and I make my way towards the counter, where The Game of Life is spread out.
I vaguely hear Hyde complaining about Fez to his boss, but approach the desk anyway.
"Hey," I say quietly, not wanting to interrupt them but wanting to get my shit done.
"Oh, hey. Isn't this your girlfriend, man?" Leo smiles hazily.
"No," Hyde denies.
"Well, she should be. I think you like her."
"Leo, man, shut up!"
I shift uncomfortably. "I just came to pick up some photos."
"I'll get them."
"No, man!" Leo objects. "I told you, I'll fire you if you get back to work!"
"I can just grab them if you want," I offer.
"Oh, sorry, no one allowed behind the counter. Especially not girls. We have some stuff back there-"
"Leo!" Hyde hisses.
"Man, you can just hang out here for a bit if you want. We're playing Life, and I got twins, man!" Leo grins.
"That's really great," I assure him. To break the silence, I add, "What were you guys talking about?"
"Oh, Hyde was saying how it isn't fair that his friend got the girl because he's better than him."
"Patty?" I chuckle.
"No, her name was Anaspacious or something like that," he shrugs obliviously.
I meet Hyde's eyes and a mischievous smile creeps onto my face. "Well, Hyde doesn't have to worry. She doesn't belong to anyone right now."
Although he doesn't turn his gaze away from me, his lips quirk up slightly as Leo nods. "I'll let him know. Hey, how do you know what's up with her? Are you psychic? Hyde, man, you should go for her instead of that Spacious chick. She's got magic powers."
I giggle quietly, tilting my head to the side. "Yeah, I agree."
A car horn honks outside, catching our attention.
"We're not here!" Leo yells.
"Man, I have to help that customer. I think he's going to drive away," Hyde presses.
"Man, she isn't even in a car!"
"No, the one at the window."
"I don't need his photo money, I'm a doctor!"
"Okay, enough." Steven snatches the cards out of his boss's hand. "This isn't life. This," he gestures to the Hut, "is life."
"Yeah, but this life is so much better than that one. In the game, I've got kids, man! In real life, my kids split on me."
"Really?"
"Yeah, man."
"My parents split on me."
"And now we found each other. Hey, do you want to be my father?"
He stares at him in disbelief with the traces of a grin gracing his lips. "Sure."
"Okay, spin, Dad!"
I open the window to air the room out. "I got ten!"
"Oh, I have an idea," Leo beams. "She can be my mom!"
I turn with a grin. "Are you up for that, Steven?"
"Sure, Princess."
"Oh, man, my mom is royalty!" Leo gushes.
An hour or two later, they've switched to playing Battleship.
"B-3," Leo guesses.
"Hit. Damn, you sunk my last battleship!" Hyde grumbles.
"You know, a well-maintained fleet is the backbone of any military structure, and with your floating arsenal depleted, your troops are likely to suffer some serious collateral damage."
"Huh."
"Hey, you know what, man? I think I might have been in the navy."
"Alright, well, since you two are done, can I pick up the pictures? Pam wants them back tonight," I request.
They share a look. "You're picking up Pam Macy's pictures?" Hyde asks, dumbfounded.
I roll my eyes. "Yeah, I took them."
"Man, those pictures are in our secret stash that the girls aren't allowed to know about," Leo whines.
"Hold on, you took pictures of naked Pam Macy?" Hyde chortles.
"Get over it," I sneer. "She asked me to take them and we're friends, so I did."
"You saw Pam Macy... naked?"
"Yep. Can I have the pictures?"
He scoffs as he fishes for the photos under the counter. "What are you going to tell me next, that you kissed her?"
I stay silent.
His head snaps up. "You kissed Pam Macy?"
"She said she wanted to keep an open mind about her sexual preferences and asked me if I could help her out," I say. "It's not a big deal."
"Yeah, except for the fact that you kissed a girl! No less, Pam Macy!"
"What's wrong with that?"
"Nothing, it's amazing! How was it?"
I shrug nonchalantly. "It was pretty hot."
"Man, my mom's a lesbian!" Leo chimes giddily.
"I'm still straight."
"You could be bisexual, that's also pretty cool."
"Thanks, Leo, but I'll stick with guys," I chuckle. "Can I have the photos?"
"Princess, do you think I could get photos of you with Pam?" Hyde smirks.
I smack his chest. "Give me the photos."
He tosses them to me and I exchange them for cash.
"Now, every time I make out with you, it's like I'm making out with her, too."
I wrinkle my nose. "That's gross. And who says I'll be making out with you? I thought simple kisses are 'all I'm getting.'"
He leans forward on the counter, pushing his face up to mine. "We both know you can't resist me, doll."
I push him away, pretending to be disgusted. "Get bent. Just don't tell anyone, okay? She doesn't want anyone to know."
"No, this is great. Major blackmail material."
"Of course that's your reasoning."
"Of course it is."
Leo throws his hands up. "Okay, but why do you have to take photos out of our stash?"
"I'm giving you cash," I remind him.
"Oh, okay, that's cool."
"I'll see you guys later," I beam.
"See you, Princess."
"See you, Spacious!"
