The boys and I sit in our normal Circle, although it's almost definitely too early for a meeting of that nature.

Kelso stares blankly at the table, his head resting on my shoulder. "God, I miss Jackie. I can't sleep. I can't think. I can still eat, but... I mean, my life has no meaning. I'm dead inside."

"Oh, so that's what smells," Fez remarks.

Hyde wrinkles his nose. "Yeah, Mr. Broken Heart. When was the last time you took a bath, anyway?"

"Man, I'm so glad Donna's not Jackie," Eric giggles, his lips stained purple from his pop. "But I'll tell you what... I'm even more glad I'm not you. No offense."

I scoff, "Leave him alone. He's going through a hard time, and he doesn't smell bad! But seriously, you have to try to get over her. This lifestyle is really unhealthy."

"No, I have to get her back. I got it! I'll write her a song!" Michael jumps.

"Maybe the other way to get over Jackie is by letting her date other people. Foreign exchange people," Fez suggests.

"No, man, I think a song is a really great idea," Hyde grins, knowing full well that it isn't. "How about this one? 'You don't love me anymore. You caught me cheatin' with a whore.' See? Because Laurie's the whore!"

I inch closer to Fez as tears start trailing down Kelso's cheeks.

"I don't think it's the best idea," I say hesitantly. "Not unless you're very musically and lyrically talented."

"I'm going to write Jackie a song," the sniffling boy finalizes. "I've got to win her back because I just can't stop the tears, man!"

I fully shift my seat to sit by Fez. "Look, Mike, you know I love you, but all of my shirts are soaked through."

"Kelso, we talked about this," Eric says cautiously. "No crying in the circle."

Once he calms down, I lean against Fez's shoulder. "Are you guys doing anything this weekend? I feel like we should go somewhere."

"Yeah, we're going to see a movie on Saturday."

I furrow my eyebrows. "I thought Donna was planning to go out with you that day."

"I told her she could come with us if she wants."

My lips purse. "And what did she say?"

"That it's fine."

"Eric," I sigh. "'Fine' in lady speak means 'not fine'. She's almost guaranteed to be pissed at you for dismissing her like that."

"I didn't mean to dismiss her!" he yelps.

"That doesn't matter much anymore, does it?" I smirk. "Good luck with her. I'm going to go organize my posters at home since I got some new ones."

"Of who?" Hyde quizzes.

"Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, Jefferson Airplane, and, oh, the Rolling Stones."

He rolls his eyes. "You have a trashy obsession with them."

I stick my tongue out at him childishly and head home.

Late that night, my doorbell rings, as I've been locking my door more often to preserve the dryness of my clothes. I'd love to be there to support Michael, but I need my alone time, and he's been over almost daily since the breakup.

I open the door and meet Hyde's piercing blue eyes. He almost immediately cups my face and places his lips onto mine.

I gladly accept the gesture, although it causes me to stumble backward in surprise. Albeit reluctantly, I push him away lightly by his cheeks. As we stand there, trying to catch our breath with our hands on each other's faces, I raise my eyebrows in questioning.

"What was that for?" I query.

"You're pretty cool, Ana. You know that, right?" he pants.

I put the back of my hand to his forehead. "Are you feeling okay?"

He shoves my wrist away, a small smirk on his lips. "Yeah. Want to go to Forman's?"

Choosing to ignore the suddenness of the situation, I follow him to my neighbor's home.

We enter through the house to find Jackie standing opposite Fez and Kelso, who seems to have just performed his song. From the looks of it, it didn't work.

"What's going on?" Hyde asks, plopping down in his chair while I take a seat on the couch. He tosses cokes to Jackie and me.

"Nothing," Jackie says perkily. "Nothing at all. Thank you for tonight, Hyde. It was very special."

I try not to show any emotion as she kisses the corner of his mouth and struts out.

So that's what he was being weird about?

Fez and Kelso release their own noises of disapproval, while I silently cross my arms and stare at him.

"Isn't she nice?" he grins, leaning back in his chair.

"What was that?" I ask stiffly.

"Why? Are you jealous?"

After the other boys exit, sensing in advance that the situation will most definitely be uncomfortable, I answer. "I'm not jealous of her and I never will be. I'm just confused."

He tilts his head, that stupid smile still stuck on his face. "Confused about what?"

"Cut the crap, Steven. Don't act like you don't know what I'm talking about."

His expression drops into a more serious one. I assume he realizes that I'm not in the mood for joking.

"Look, Princess, I went to the mall with her because you and Donna were apparently busy, and then she tried to kiss me. I didn't let it happen, though, so I don't know why you're so upset."

I bite my lip, knowing that I have no valid reasoning for my feelings. "I'm not upset."

He laughs haughtily. "That's the biggest lie I've ever heard."

"Fine. The way she said it implied that you guys... did more."

He leans forward, resting his chin on his hand. "And that bothers you?"

At this point, anything I say will get him a win. I decide that it's less satisfying if the person you're arguing with agrees with you. "Yeah, it does."

He looks taken aback by my response, and a smile almostย quirks at my lips.

"Why?"

"Because you act like you're my boyfriend half the time, and the other half you act like you don't know me."

"Which one would you prefer?"

A beat passes and I shrug nonchalantly. "I don't know."

"Either way, I have to get Jackie off my tail. She's annoying, man." He stands and kisses my forehead.

I scoff in annoyance as he treads up the stairs. "Bye, asshole."

"Bye, Princess."

Once Kelso gets over the breakup, the rest of us deem it safe to hang out in the basement together. Recently, though, Jackie has excluded herself.

"Hey, guys, guess what part of my body I nicknamed 'Pink Floyd'!" Kelso giggles as Eric and Donna walk in.

"Shut up," Donna chuckles, sitting down onto the couch.

"Jackie thought it was cute."

"Well, Jackie's not here anymore," Eric says.

"I was at her house this morning, and she is so down. It's really depressing," Donna sighs.

"I feel bad for her, but she made the right choice," I nod. "Although, she doesn't even want to give me a makeover anymore."

"Shit, really?"

"Yeah. I couldn't cheer her up."

"So she's taking the breakup pretty hard?" Kelso asks. "Cool."

"Shut up, man, you cried like a baby," Hyde scolds as he joins us. I toss him a pop from my spot on the freezer.

"Woah, I did not cry! I had something in my eye."

"For a week?"

"I have allergies! Oh, is it so wrong to feel?"

"So Kelso, now that you and Jackie are no longer an item," Fez interrupts, "I can ask her out, right?"

Michael's forehead creases. "What? No. Since when do you like Jackie?"

"Yeah, Fez, I don't think that's a good idea," Donna advises.

"Man, that's a bad idea," Steven clarifies as he pulls me into his lap. "Jackie's on the rebound right now. Why don't you give her a break?"

"Wow, Hyde's being considerate, guys. Let's buy some lottery tickets," I tease.

"Oh, shut it, Princess."

"Wait, Hyde, since when do youย like Jackie? I thought you and Ana were a thing!" Kelso says incredulously.

"I don't like her," he groans. "And we're not a thing! We're just screwing around."

Donna glances at me, again. Ever since she told me to clear things up with him, she's been trying to get me to figure things out. It turns out that she's very invested in my love life, but I guess Hyde has just given us an answer.

"What, does everyone like Jackie now?" Michael yells, disregarding Steven's answer.

Eric raises his hand. "I still don't."

"Hyde's just saying that Jackie's really vulnerable right now," Donna explains.

"Yes," Fez agrees. "So I must move fast before she gets her self-esteem back."

"Yeah, you can't blame her for being down. After all, I did dump her," Kelso grins.

Eric looks up at him. "Actually, she dumped you."

"Well, I don't think about specifics."

"You hardly think at all," Fez burns. "Nothing will stop me from asking Jackie on a date. Not even ninjas."

For the next minute, we watch silently as Fez daydreams and Kelso nudges him repeatedly. Once the foreign boy snaps out of it, Michael says, "Go ahead, ask Jackie out. She won't go, but go ahead and ask."

"You're damn right I will," he grins before adding a "Hiya!" under his breath.

"This isn't going to end well, is it?" I whisper, leaning back on Hyde's chest.

He kisses me softly with a smirk. "Not at all."

Sure enough, when Donna, Jackie, and I sit outside, Jackie barely skims over her date with Fez, focusing instead on Michael and her beef jerky.

"So, then," she rambles on, "after I finished putting all of my pictures of Michael in my special Michael box, I realized that I'm so totally over him."

"Liar," I scoff. "Jackie, you are so notย over him."

"And if you keep stuffing your face like this," Donna adds, "you're going to get-"

Her head snaps up. "Don't you dare say it, you bitch."

"Fat."

"No... No..." Jackie whimpers, staring off into the distance and chowing down on her jerky more quickly. "Oh my god, Donna, I'm scared. I have to control myself!"

"Okay. Let's start by you handing Ana the jerky."

I carefully reach for it but she swiftly slaps my hand away. "Back off, you Amazon! Look, I just need more time."

"You slapping her hand when she tries to take away the jerky is something a fat girl would do."

Although the words are incredibly shallow, untrue, and harsh, they seem to be the only things that can get through to her.

She tosses the jerky at me angrily.

I stand between Steven and Michael in the Formans' driveway, leaning on the Vista Cruiser as Hyde tells Kelso about Laurie supposedly being born with a tail.

"So what you're telling me is, I've been sleeping with the devil?" Mike asks worriedly.

The other boy nods with feigned sympathy.

"She told me it was a birthmark!"

"Yeah, a mark where they removed her tail. At birth."

"You know, guys, I might actually be starting to feel bad on this one," Eric, the one who first shared the news, admits, stopping the basketball game he has going with Fez.

"Yes," Fez agrees. "It is not right to share others' secrets. I am with you, Doctor Pee-Pee."

I raise my eyebrows. "Doctor Pee-Pee?"

"It's a long story."

Jackie appears, dressed in one of her best pink outfits and looking better than ever. "Hey, guys. Michael, how are you doing?"

"Oh, not so good. I just found out some really disturbing news."

"Well, I hope you're unhappy. Fez, can I talk to you?"

As the two walk off to an area where we can't hear what they're saying, we watch intently. Jackie finishes the conversation by pecking him on the lips and skipping away.

"You're dead," Kelso growls at his friend, swinging at him. Fez easily dodges him and they leave us to chase each other around the block.

Eric goes back to shooting hoops and Hyde turns so that he stands in front of me with his hands resting on my waist while I lean on the Cruiser.

"So, I was thinkin'..." he starts. The corners of my mouth curl upwards, as I know what he's about to say. "Do you want to spend the night together?"

"Are you telling me you want a sleepover?"

He leans closer to me. "You know what I want. I've been celibate for the past two months and that's all great, but sex is pretty fun."

I bite my lip with a mischievous smile. "Are you forfeiting?"

"Ana-"

"You're the first one to ask for sex! I win!" I cheer quietly.

"Shut up," he chuckles before kissing me slowly and passionately.

"Hey!" Eric's voice rings from behind Hyde. "Stop making out on my car!"
