(Y/n) wakes up in a gasp, her hair being (H/l) still. Other than that, everything else seems normal. She jolts up and studies herself in disbelief, pupils dilating as she can hear her heartbeat in her ears. "I'm (Y/n). She's still alive." Trembling, she hugs herself as she leans between her knees.

Her bedroom door then opens, revealing her mom, business as usual. "Hon, are you touching your-" She yelps in surprise at the sight, sweatdropped. She sees (Y/n) bawling, snot dripping down her nose-- an absolute mess. And yes, she is touching her boobs. (Y/n) looked up at the woman, her lips shaking and her voice quavering. "My mom!" She rubs her running nose on her sleeve as she begins crawling her way to her mom, still bawling-- it's quite a frightful sight.

"Mammmmaaaa!!"

Her mom quickly slams the door in her daughter's face, a nervous sweat breaking.

Moments later, the news on the T.V. talks about the comet in the living room. "Tiamat has been visible to the naked eye for a few days now. It will finally reach its perigee at around 7:40, and it's expected to be at its brightest. This spectacular 1,200-year event has reached its climax, and various festivities will be held all around the..." (Y/n) stands in front of the T.V. in her school uniform, her hands holding Kiki and petting her head, deep in thought. "It's tonight. There's still time."

Her mom then walks in wearing her work clothes. She went to greet her, pretending to forget what happened earlier but paused. "You're not (Y/n), are you?" Her voice spooked her daughter, turning her head over with surprise on her face. "Mom... You knew?" It's shown in her tone. She shook her head, making her way to the couch and sitting down. "No, but watchin' the way you've behaved lately brought back some memories. Back when I was young, I remember seein' some dreams myself."

The girl shifted in her spot, Kiki struggling to get away from her arms as she placed her down. She sat by the woman, listening intently. "'Course, by now, I've forgotten whose life I was dreamin' about."

"Forgotten..."

"But, when I met your father," She smiled, "it was like I already knew him, like a long-lost childhood friend; maybe I was the one dreaming about his life." She turned to (Y/n) and placed a hand on her head, patting it softly. "Cherish the experience. Dreams fade away after you wake up. Your dad mentioned that he also went through the phase you're in." The teen pursed her lips, looking to the side in deep thinking.

"Maybe all the dreams by people in the (L/n) lineage." She stared up at her mom, "we're leading up to what will happen today. Mom, listen." Her face gets serious, a scary one that even her mom felt like flinching. "A comet will strike Itomori tonight, and everyone will die." the older woman stares at her like she's gone crazy.

(Y/n) runs down the school road with eager determination, breath running short. 'Nobody will believe that? I guess that's the normal thing for her to say here.' She pushes towards the school. "I won't let them die!"

Finally, she made it to her classroom. Sadako and Riko were seated at their desk, shocked at her new haircut. "Oh my god. (Y/n), what happened? " Riko gasped while the ravenette stuttered with her words. "Y-Y-Y-Y-Your hair!" The (H/c)ette raised a brow, touching her hair with boredom, a light pout being presented. "Oh, this? It looked better before, huh?"

"That's it?"

She shook her head, turning back to them with determination and a light blush. "Forget that! If nothing is done, everyone will die tonight!" The class stops what they are doing and gawks at the odd trio. Sadako and Riko glance at them, sharing the same shocked and bizarre expression, but (Y/n) doesn't care and continues. "That means it's time for us to get to work!" And as stated, the three went to work!

Riko was ordered to go to the convenience store to fetch some snacks and lots of Dorayaki. A middle-aged woman scans a basket full of those items as the girl waits nervously with her wallet in hand and a handbag by her hip. "Why aren't you at school, Riko?" The girl flinches and feels too embarrassed even to give her a response. "Uh..." She turned bright red, "We have to save the town."

"Eh?"

At the A.V. Clubroom, (Y/n) and Sadako discusses their action plan in a crowded A.V. storage room. The two sit on a beat-up couch, hovering over a laptop. "The early warning system?" Sadako nods, "Yeah, those speakers are all over the place." They search up "SUPERIMPOSTION FREQUENCY," reading through some of them as (Y/n) felt herself grin. "I see. That could work!" She bumps Sadako off the laptop with her butt, "This is awesome, Oka-chin!" Sadako, trapped between her friend and some boxes, blushes nervously as she mutters. "Oka-chin? And don't come so close!"

Sadako sits on the couch's backrest, trying to get further away. She sends a teasing smirk up at her, close to her face. "What, embarrassed?" She let out a laugh and nudged her with her elbow. "Hey, hey!" "Stop! A single girl your age--that ain't proper!" She raises a brow at her, then bursts out laughing again. "You're single too! Don't try to be a hypocrite! You're such a gentleman!"

Riko slides open the clubroom door with her foot, her two hands full of snacks, as the girls glance over. "Got them." She placed the bags on the couch, dug in her skirt pocket, and handed some coins to (Y/n). "Here's your change." She replies with a grin. "Thank you! You got the red bean Dorayaki, right?"

"Nearly bought half the entire stock!"

"Great!"

"There's barely any other snack, and you guys know how I hate red bean flavor."

"Deal with it."

After digging through the snacks, Riko opens a small cake and begins to eat it. "How'd it go with y'all?" She brought the topic. "Come up with an escape plan?" (Y/n) and Sadako glance at their blank faces. A mischievous grin spreads across both their faces.

"A b-b-bomb?!" Horror laced her face while her friends nibbled on their snacks nonchalant. "Yessir. We have a water-gel explosive for construction at our warehouse." Riko nearly choked on her cake. "Broadcast hijacking?!" Sadako nodded while (Y/n) was on her fifth Dorayaki. "We can get right into the early warning system using the startup frequency." Swallowing a bite, (Y/n) smirks. "So we can broadcast an evacuation message from the school."

She leans forward from the couch and points to a map. "The high school is outside the disaster area so that people can shelter here." Riko gulped the strawberry on her spoon and was tempted to fall. "W-We're gonna be criminals."

"You talk to your father about the evacuation."

"Huh?! There's no way he'll listen to something like this!"

"Well, sucks for him. He has to." (Y/n) pointed to herself, "I'll be in charge of the broadcast, and Sadako will be working on the explosives," Sadako smirked. "In the end, we ain't gonna get everyone out without city hall's help." The (H/c)ette placed her hands on Riko's shoulders, a reassuring smile shown. "You can persuade him; we believe in you."

"It's the perfect plan."

Riko played with her fingers anxiously, "Fine," she then blushed, "but only if you come with me when I talk to my dad; that way, I'll be less worried about confronting him. Even if it's just a disaster fantasy, right?" (Y/n) froze. "What? Well..." She bit her lip; luckily, Sadako came in to help. "That ain't necessarily so!" She leans over to reach the laptop, spinning it over for Riko to see with a smirk. She leans her body against (Y/n)'s shoulder, nearly shoving the device at her friend's face. "Do you know how Lake Itomori was formed? It's a meteor crater! So this has happened before, a thousand years ago!"

The sentence recalls (Y/n) the cave paintings of a meteor, and a cold sweat formed as she eyes Sadako. "Oh! So that's why..." The girls looked at her with raised brows, (Y/n) pushing Sadako's arms away as she grinned, holding out a fist bump. "You're right, Sadako!" Said friend replies with a grin, too, fist-bumping her until they start doing their one little handshake.

On the other hand, Riko watched their stupidity, furrowing her brows. She jumped at her friend's reactions when she saw them turn serious, turn around, lean, and yell at her. "Let's do this!"

"What on earth are you talking about?" (Y/n) and Riko had made their way to the mayor's office to confront the upcoming threat. Riko had just finished explaining what she and the others were planning; her voice showed slight timidness while (Y/n) stood by the office door, her presence showing support. Being informed, the mayor looked between the girls with bewilderment at the said statement, sitting down and leaning against his leather seat.

Riko cleared her throat and spoke once more. "I said, we have to evacuate everyone in town before tonight, or else..."

"Just be quiet." Riko's father proclaimed, making the girl suck in some air as (Y/n) continued to watch in silence. The mayor let out a long sigh, pinching the bridge of his nose from the ridiculousness. He glanced over at his window, repeating everything his daughter had informed him. "The comet's going to break apart and fall? Over five hundred people will die?" He sent a look between the girls. "How dare you both come to me with nonsense like that? You are both ill if you're being serious with me and actually believing whatever (L/n) is spewing out."

Riko gasped at her father's bold words, glancing behind her to see her friend's expression turn into irritation. "What did I tell you, Riko? It would be best if you had listened to me and avoided being friends with (L/n). Her family is filled with madness as it is."

It was silent.

Too much for Riko's liking, wondering what's being processed through (Y/n)'s mind.

Riko's father sighed once more, reaching his hand to the phone. "I'll get someone to drive you both to the city hospital." He eyed Riko. "I'll listen to you after you get looked at."

"You!" Riko immediately turned her head around with wide eyes to see (Y/n) marching her way over to her dad, anger shown. "(Y/n)--!" The (H/c)ette climbed half her body on the mayor's desk and grabbed his tie, pulling him with such strength as she glared. "You arrogant bastard!" The mayor drops the phone, the faint sound of it ringing. The mayor looks down at her with horror, cold sweat forming while Riko rushes her way to her friend and pulls her away.

"You..." The mayor muttered, his expression faltering, "Who even are you?"

Time was ticking, and the festival was nearing. (Y/n) and Riko walks in silence on the road. Riko glanced over at her friend to see her lost in thought. She wanted to say something, but she didn't know what. She can hear the faint voices of children talking in front of them. A little girl waves to her friends with a smile. "See you at the festival! Bye!"

"Let's meet at the shrine. Don't be late."

"Bye!"

"See you!"

"Later!"

Two kids run down the direction where the teenagers were, smiling. The (H/c)ette perks up and looks at one of them, grabbing them by the shoulders. "You shouldn't go!" Riko's eyes shoot up as she places her hand on (Y/n)'s shoulder, trying to pull her away. "(Y/n), stop it!" The kids looked alarmed as (Y/n) is practically begging them at this point, something she hasn't done in ages. "Get out of town. Tell your friends, too."

"What's wrong with you?" The boy pushes himself away, both kids looking with fear. "What was that?" His friend grabs him by the arm, running off. Riko turned to apologize, but they were far away. She turned to (Y/n) and grabbed her wrists, noticing her staring off to space as she furrowed her brows. "What are you doing?"

"Could (Y/n)-chan..."

"Huh?"

(Y/n) looked to the side. "Could she have persuaded them?" Then she looked at Riko. "Is it just me who can't?" The poor girl was left confused. What the hell is (Y/n) even muttering? "Riko, before nightfall, tell Mom to get out of town with Kiki."

"H-Huh? Wha--"

Riko suddenly shook her head, cold sweat forming as she retorted. "Yesterday, you up and left for Tokyo. Sadako went with you, so that way you were okay, and ever since, you've been acting so strange to the point where you can't recognize if you're you or someone else! What's happening with you?" The (H/c)ette perked up at the sudden information, her shoulders shagging and her grip on Riko faltering. "Tokyo?"

"Riko! (Y/n)!" The girls look over to see Sadako riding her bike with a wave, pulling the breaks when she got close and questioned them. "How'd it go with your old man, Riko?"

"Well, it didn't..." As she was about to reply, Sadako noticed (Y/n)'s concentrated face. "(Y/n)?" She called, but no response; instead, said girl placed her fingers under her chin while profoundly thinking. "Hey," Sadako asked her friend, "what's wrong with her?"

Suddenly, the (H/c)ette gasped, spooking her friends at the sudden noise. Her gaze was fixated on a trail leading into the forest, a distinct ringing of a bell in her ears. She thinks back at the cave behind the waterfall, the wind picking up as it gently blew against her hair. "Are you there?"

"Is somethin' up there?" Riko inquired. (Y/n) turned away from the forest and went to Sadako's bike, pushing her off as he began to bike off. "Sadako, let me borrow this." Sadako nearly stumbled with her footing, almost falling on her behind. "(Y/n)!" They watch her ride off with much confusion. "Hey!" Sadako called again. "What about the operation!?" Their friend looked over their shoulder, being careful not to run into anything, and stated. "Get ready as planned! Riko! You're gonna have to take my place and do the announcements!" She turns her head in front. "Please!"

Drip...

Drop...

Drip...

Drop...

Mikey's body is curled on the ground, the water droplets gently hitting his cheek inside the cave. The fourth or maybe fifth droplet awakens him, a low groan behind let out as he slowly sits up. Opening his eyes, they shot open as he gasped and looked at his body. "I'm Mikey again!" His voice echoed.

The boy hurriedly stood up, making his way out of the cave and being enticed by the raging yellow sun. He makes his way around the waterfall, covering his eyes with his arm. He wondered what or how he ended up in the cave. Was he there to explore or there to see her. "What's Mikey doing here?" He mumbled.

Mikey pushed his way over to the crater's edge, climbing his way up with grunts, nearly slipping a few times. Finally, he gasped when he reached the top, and his heart skipped. The destruction of the town immediately greeted him. He felt speechless. "The town... It's gone." It was just like that day. The same fear he had expressed. The vivid memories of the comet plumbing down the town and Earth are forever ingrained in his mind. "I..."

He felt his body begin to shake. "That night..." His knees began to buckle as he sat down; his heart beating rapidly was the only thing he could hear. "I died?"

(Y/n)'s breath started to become jagged. She probably wouldn't have been so drained if she was in her own body. If only she could go back to when they were just regularly switching and writing advice and thoughts in those entries, she definitely would've told her to work out more. But regardless, she had to push forward.

"Mikey."

"Manjiro."

"Mikey!"

"Don't you remember me?"

She started to remember memories of (Y/n)'s. She could recall her and Sadako entering the train, their school bags still with them. They took their spots and sat in front of each other, gazing at the window for a good while. The ravenette glanced at her friend's gaze. It looked like they were longing for someone. How odd.

"So, why exactly do you want to go to Tokyo suddenly? It's odd for you to make up plans right on the spot." (Y/n) looked away from the glass and over at her. She glanced down on her lap, playing with her nails. "Nothing... I just got tired and wanted to go." of course, her friend wasn't going to buy that excuse, but a thought occurred. (Y/n) noticed her friend form a cat-like grin, which made her develop a nervous sweat. "What?"

"You're meeting up with a boy, aren't you?"

(Y/n) shyly looks away, taking her friend by surprise and mouth to drop. "Huh?! Wait, do you got a boyfriend in Tokyo?! Is that why you're suddenly going?"

"I don't have a boyfriend... I just know someone there."

The train had stopped, and the two moved onto another one. (Y/n) sat by the window seat as Sadako just texted Riko on her phone. 'If I showed up out of the blue, would it bother him? Surprise him? Maybe he'll be upset. It's understandable if he's in a Toman meeting.' The train would continue to travel across the countryside for the next half-hour until the tall buildings came into view.

The girls exit the train, staring in awe at the scenery. "I'm so glad I tagged along." Sadako joked, walking off and expecting her friend to follow; instead, (Y/n) dug through her school bag and flipped her phone, looking through her contacts until it stopped on his.

'Mikey :) !'

She hesitated for a moment but eventually pressed the call button and pressed it against her ear. It rang and rang and when she thought he answered, it turned out to be a voicemail instead.

The number you are trying to reach is not available--

'There's no way we could meet up.' She hung up the call and hurried over to Sadako, who was looking at the map of Tokyo. 'But what if we did?' The girls decided to take a train to some part of the city. Sitting by each other, they hug their school bags and glance at the quiet train ride. They see girls talking to each other, boys asleep, and adults minding their business. 'What should I do? He'll be ticked off at me for sure. Or maybe it'd just be awkward.'

And so, the girls got off the train and began exploring the city. 'Or maybe, just maybe, he'd be glad to see me?' Get on a train, explore that part of the city, maybe even eat or buy something, and repeat. This would be a routine the girls would do.

Finally, they arrived at Shibuya. (Y/n) was anxiously waiting for the train to arrive at the destination. She would've made the plan to go here first, but then again, she thought back to Mikey and his motorcycle and assumed he could be anywhere. The girl dragged Sadako over to the Musashi Shrine, rushing up the many stairs to only be greeted with an empty area. 'That's right. His meetings are usually late at night.'

She pulled out her phone, the time reading 4:30 p.m. She decided to call him one more time.

The number you are trying to reach is not available--

'I'll never find him like this.'

She let out a sigh; a sad smile expressed as she turned to Sadako and apologized for dragging her. The two decided to stop by a convenience store for a quick snack. 'But... I know one thing for sure. If we see each other, we'll know at first sight that you were the one who was within me. And I was the one who was within you.'

As the girls were making their way to the store, one store caught Sadako's attention; filled with beautiful dresses. She nudged (Y/n)'s arm and pointed to the store. "Hey, I'll be right back. You go on ahead and buy whatever, 'kay?" And once she nodded, Sadako was off.

(Y/n) entered the store and began skimming through the aisles. She would occasionally stop when a snack piqued her interest. The store's bell let out a ring, indicating a customer had entered. She didn't pay much attention to it and kept looking between which food she and Sadako would get. What did catch her attention were the voicesโ€”two of them.

One sounded deep, and the other was in between high and deep. She could hear their footsteps nearing the aisle she was in, quickly turning her head away. She could see one person walking through her peripheral and noticed the figures stopped at a shelf a few feet away from each other. Her heart began to pick up its pace, and she got nervous.

When she turned to her right, everything around her seemed to disappear and go quiet.

There he stood. It was Mikey.

He had his uniform jacket on his shoulders, exposing his white tee while wearing some bagging pants. She swallowed, then opened her mouth.

The bike had run over a thick branch, causing (Y/n) to let out a yelp and fall. The bike slips down a small cliff, enough to break it apart as she holds onto a sturdy tree branch. She rushed her way back up and started sprinting with all her might. 'It was two years ago. Back when I didn't know you.' The bike slips down a small cliff, enough to break it apart as she holds onto a sturdy tree branch.

The memories continue to flow through her mind, remembering how anxious and nervous (Y/n) was acting around him. "Mikey." Her voice was barely audible in the quiet store. The blond appeared not to hear her, still searching for some snacks. She let out a small huff, telling herself to speak up and act cool. "Mikey." Her voice was louder now, finally catching the boy's ears.

He turned to her with wonder, making the girl subconsciously give a gentle smile. "Um, it's me!" She pointed to herself, letting out a nervous chuckle as sweat fell down her cheek. "Don't you remember me?" Said boy thought for a moment. The only girls he's ever talked to was Emma and Hina. Maybe he knew this girl in his childhood? No. He only remembers talking to Baji.

"Who are you?"

(Y/n) felt her heart sank at his words. And she felt herself become sweaty and hot. "Ah," She looked away and clutched her school bag tightly. "Sorry to bother you." She stared at the ground, pursing her lips and frowning. 'But it's Mikey...' Mikey still had his eyes connected to the girl while searching for his food. 'Is she Emma's friend?' He seemed to notice the odd girl fiddling with her woven bracelet. It was becoming loose from playing it too much. Suddenly, the store's entrance lets out a small ring as footsteps rampage through.

Entering their aisle was Sadako, who looked nervous and was in a rush. The ravenette approached her friend as she grabbed her left wrist and mumbled enough for Mikey to hear. "Hey, we gotta go." (Y/n) rose a brow, her embarrassment slightly calmed down. "Huh? Why? What's the matter."

"I saw my uncle in the store, and I'm pretty sure he saw me and will inform my family. We gotta go."

Sadako began dragging her away at a quick pace while her friend protested. "Wait, Sadako! Hold on!" (Y/n)'s bracelet gets caught up on one of the retail shelves, ripping it out of her hand as she seems unaware. Mikey watched the accessory fall to the ground, eyeing it for a bit as he went over and picked it up. He couldn't help but admire the beauty and notice the ripped piece on the rope.

He felt his friend's presence behind him, holding Mikey's and his favorite snacks. "Hey, Mikey, found anything you like?" As a reply, the light blond shook his head and began hurrying out of the store. "Ken-chin, go ahead and buy the food; I gotta do something real quick."

"Huh? Where are you going?" But Mikey was gone by the time Draken had given the question.

Mikey shot his head around the crowds, scanning the area to discover the girl while holding the ripped bracelet between his fingers. Finally, his eyes landed on her and her friend pushing through a crowd of bustling people not too far from him. "Hey, you! Wait!" He called out, gaining her attention from the loud city. She turned her head at the speed of light, eyes solely focusing on the boy as a few passerby's bumped into her.

"Can I at least know your name?!"

She gasped, watching as his figure began to grow smaller and smaller. Right now, she needed to scream, or else it'll be too late.

"(Y/n)! My name is (Y/n)!"

Once her name was said, it felt like a portion of something heavy left her shoulders as she soon disappeared from both the girl's and boy's vision. Mikey seemed to completely forget about returning the bracelet, having been too perplexed by the strange girl.

The memories begin to fade in (Y/n)'s head, focusing more on reaching the basin. She let out loud huffs, sweat dripping down like rain as she struggled with continuing. 'Two years ago, I had a moment with you. You came and found me!' Tears began edging her eyes and flying against the wind from sprinting.

_________ ื‚ื‚เซขเผ‹เผ˜เฟ

Mikey remained sitting at the edges of the creator, his knees pressed against his chest while resting his head against his arms. He lets out a small gasp, opening his eyes. He slowly sat up, groaning as he stared at the setting sun. "Mikey?" Turning to the left, Mikey began walking along the edge, eyes remaining on the destroyed down.

"(Y/n)!"

He abruptly stopped his movement when hearing his original voice screaming through the air. he quickly looked around. "Mikey?!"

(Y/n) heard him reply and felt her heart skip. She quickly hurried over the rocks and began climbing the edges. On top, she started sprinting again, glancing around in desperation for him. Even if the edges were long and wide, she couldn't see the figure. She stopped running once more to try and regain her breath as she screamed again. "(Y/N)! You're here, aren't you? In my body!"

Mikey formed a cold sweat, searching the area with determination. "Mikey! Mikey, where are you?!" (Y/n) turned her body to her left when hearing the voice. Pursing her lips, she mumbled. "It's (Y/n). I can hear her, but I can't..." She then continued running while the boy still looked around. "Mikey, where are you?! I know you're here!" He then looked to his right and took off at quite a fast speed. "Mikey!"

They began to grow nearer and nearer, but at the same time, further away. But the moment their bodies ran past each other, a small bell ringed in their ears, stopping in their tracks and looking behind. There was no one, but they felt each other's presence, looking at each other.

They stared at the empty spot, slowly approaching each other. "Mikey, you're..." They stopped in the middle, where they seemed to be a few feet away. (Y/n) clutched her fists. "...right there, aren't you?"

(Y/n) then began raising her right hand, and soon Mikey followed, their hands stretching to the other. But when they try to grab each other, their hands are phased. The glimmering sun shines down upon them. (Y/n) finds herself disappointed, biting her inner lip. The sky then becomes dark; looking to her right sees a rather big cloud blocking her vision.

"It's half-light."
"It's half-light."

She freezes, her words caught in her throat as she slowly turns her head in front of her to see Mikey doing the same. Their pupils widened, and both happened to be back in their bodies. Mikey slowly formed a warm smile, his face relaxed. "(Y/n)." The girl couldn't find the words she wanted to say; they were still stuck in her throat. All she did was stare in astonishment.

"Mikey." She finally uttered. Her hands went to her mouth, approaching the boy. "Mikey!" Her voice croaked, removing her hands from her mouth and placing them against his chest. "It's really you!" The blond couldn't hide his excitement; a big grin showed while his hands hesitated to place against her hips.

She couldn't believe her eyes. He really was there. She wasn't him.

Her eyes glimmered, and tears began cascading her puffed cheeks. She gave a closed-eye grin while letting out a choked sob. "Mikey!" He continued his smile, moving his hand to wipe some of the tears. "I came to find you." He let out a chuckle, ruffling her hair. "Seriously, it was a rough trip! You're way out here." He let her step away to fix herself. (Y/n) looked at him again, wiping tears as her right hand returned to his chest.

She wanted to savor every moment of this. She was memorizing his face, clothes, scent, everything.

"But... how? That night, I..."

"I played the shakuhachi."

She was left surprised. "You did?! Do you even know how gross it was! There was so much moss and bacteria! On top of that, you learned the notes?!" She can see the boy left surprised but quickly formed a cute childish pout. "Come on! Give me more credit! I can put in effort whenever I want to!"

"Oh yeah, and you can't seem to keep your hands away from my boobs!" (Y/n) hugged her chest as the boy in front of her formed a light blush and looked to the side. "Did Mom tell you...?"

"Of course!"

"Uh," The boy started to feel his face turn red, "yeah, sorry, I just... I only did it once." She gave him a narrowed glare. "Just once?" She let out a few grumbles before pointing at his face. "Doesn't matter how many times, shrimpy!"

'Shrimpy?' The boy exclaimed in his head. Usually, he would threaten a fight or argue with someone whenever someone mentioned his height, but he'll let this slide for now. "Sorry..." He rubbed the back of his neck. When he did that, (Y/n)'s guard faltered when she noticed her bracelet on his wrist. "Oh, that's..."

He lowered his wrist for them to see (Y/n) approaching. "Oh yeah, this." He creased his brows as he fiddled to get it off. "Really, why'd you come see me before I knew you? 'Course I didn't recognize you. Silly, (Y/n)-chin." Mikey gently grabbed the girl's hands and placed the bracelet on them. "Here. I've had it for two years. This time, you hold on to it."

She just gazed at him, capturing his beauty. She smiled beautifully, wrapping her bracelet on while Mikey, too, couldn't help but think how pretty she looked. "(Y/n)?" She hummed, "I might sound really cheesy right now, but, has anyone told you how pretty you looked?"

Her eyes shot wide as she playfully smacked his arm. "Shush!" The boy just laughed while his girl placed his hands on her hips and pouted. "Seriously, you're such an..." But eventually, she gave in and began letting out bellowed laughs. Mikey gazed at her with the blush remaining on his cheeks before joining in on their happy moment, both too caught up to notice the comet begin appearing in the setting sky.

Once their laughter died, Mikey looked up at the sky and then turned his attention back to her, his voice stern and profound. "(Y/n). There are still things you need to do. Listen."

"It's coming." She noted, her eyes narrowing up the comet. Mikey placed his hands in his pockets. "Don't worry. You've still got time."

"Yes, I'll try."

A thought then occurred when she looked at the orange-purple sky. "Half-light is almost..."

"...over."

A frown etched the boy's face, but it soon took over with a small smile. "Hey, (Y/n)." She turned to him, watching as he pulled out a marker from his left pocket and opened the cap. "So we don't forget when we wake up..." he grabs her right hand, writing on her palm as the girl holds her breath. Their proximity was really close. She could feel some of his long hair tickle her face from the slight wind.

The writing stopped, glancing at her eyes. "Let's write down our names." He placed the marker over his handwriting, watching as (Y/n) smiled brightly at the idea. She held his hand, her feather-like touch sending shivers. She placed the marker down, beginning to write.

But it falls to the ground.

(Y/n) was gone.

His eyes stare at the vacant spot, his hand still held out until he realizes she wasn't there. "(Y/n)?" He began walking around, head looking around as the sky darkened. "Hey, (Y/n)?" His voice cracked slightly. "(Y/n)?!" He faced the broken town, then down at his palm. There was only a straight/curve line on it.

He held the hand with care. "I wanted to tell you. Wherever you are in the world, I swear I'll find you again." He looked up at the moon, beginning to repeat her name repeatedly. "Your name is (Y/n)." He closed his eyes, letting out a deep breath. "It's okay. I remember." He opened them and smiled slightly. "(Y/n), (Y/n), (Y/n)! Your name is (Y/n)! Your name is..." He pauses, realizing the marker as he quickly scoops it and goes to begin writing her name.

But the minute the black dot hit against his skin, he felt himself shake. "Who... are you? Why did I come here?" The marker falls. He straightens himself. "For her! I came to see her! I came to save her. I wanted her to live! Who was it? Who?" He slowly sat up, "Who did I come to see? Someone dear to me. My treasure. I don't want to forget. I can't forget!" He felt himself crying but tried wiping the tears away.

"Who are you? Who are you? Who are you? Who are you?!"

He couldn't fight against the droplets and finally, let them accessible. They leak tremendously, his voice cracking. "What's your name?"

_________ ื‚ื‚เซขเผ‹เผ˜เฟ

(Y/n) hurries away from the creator, sprinting her way back to town as the tears fall from her eyes. She breathed heavily, closing her eyes and repeating his name in her head. 'Mikey. Mikey. Mikey! It's okay. I'll remember. I'll never forget! Mikey. Mikey! Your name is Mikey!' Her eyes then focused on the comet, following its move as everyone seemed to enjoy the night, unaware of the actions that would soon occur.

The girl had finally reached the town's power plant, trying to regain her breath while seeing the headlights shine on her. She saw Sadako on a motorbike, a helmet on her head. The (H/c)ette smiled. "Sadako!"

"(Y/n)!"

She parked her bike, watching (Y/n) rush over. "Where've you been?"

"He said sorry for breaking your bike."

"Huh? Who did?"

"I did!"

Sadako let out a sigh, adjusting the large satchel bag on her shoulders before smirking and heading over to the generators. "You'd best explain everything to me later!" (Y/n) hurries her way to Sadako's side, the two of them crouching on the ground and zipping open the bag. Sadako placed a pair of white gloves on, pulling out a bolt cutter and a helmet with a flashlight as she glanced at the comet. "That thing's comin' down?" Her expression becomes serious, turning to her friend. "For sure?"

"For sure." (Y/n)'s voice was firm. "Saw it with my own eyes!"

"What? You saw it, huh?" The ravenette nervously grins. "Then I reckon it's settled." She turns to the fenced gate, turning on her flashlight and placing the bolt cutters against the locked chains. "We're both criminals now!" Snap! The chains were cut.

A few moments later, (Y/n) and Sadako were speeding down the hill, on the motorbike. Sadako dialed her phone quickly to Riko, placed the phone on her shoulder, and leaned her ear to the speaker. It was immediately answered, but before the girl could answer, on the other hand, Sadako started explaining everything to do. "What? Do I really have to?" Riko shrieked, clutching the phone tightly.

She was in the Broadcast Club, nervousness taking over and a bright blush across her face as she paced back in forth. "When the town's power goes out, the backup equipment should kick in where you are. You can use the warning system then!" (Y/n) hastily removed the phone from her friend's shoulder, bringing it to her ear and begging. "Please, Iko! Repeat it as many times as you can!"

Sadako couldn't contain her excitement. This was the most adventurous and eventful moment she's ever going to experience in her life, so she might as well enjoy the best of it. She let out a cheerful laugh, fisting the air with a huge grin. "We can do it!" On the other line, Riko just groaned, pulling up a chair and sitting in front of the A.V. equipment. "Oh, to heck with it!"

She flips the switch on the microphone, soon flipping every single announcement switch while the other girls continue speeding back to the town, now closer to the town's lights. (Y/n) glances in the direction where the power plant is, biting her inner lip and looking over her friend's shoulder. "Soon, you think?"

"Damned if I know!"

And the moment she said that, the bombs exploded with tremendous power, causing the area to be aflame. Sadako had pushed her breaks on the vehicle at the town entrance, hearing the boom and turning to see the black smoke and flames. The noise didn't go noticed by the citizens, all looked around to know what just happened. Their eyes shot wide open, Sadako letting out a nervous laugh while (Y/n)'s mouth dropped.

"What was that?"

"Up there!"

The lights slowly shut down the entire town of Itomori, spooking and confusing everyone around. Riko gasped at the sudden action, glancing at the window with astonishment. 'It actually worked! They pulled it off!' Citizens walk to each other and talk about what just happened. A couple of kids look up at the sky and notice the comet as one of them points. "Hey, look!"

The citizens gawk in awe at the beautiful colors, having a momentary peace until the sirens alarm.

"This is Itomori Town Hall." Riko's robotic voice echoes the area, gaining everyone's attention. "And explosion has occurred at the substation."

"An accident?"

"Explosion?!"

Riko had tears edging her eyes, overwhelmed with anxiety as she tried keeping her voice together as she read the script. "There is a danger of further explosions and forest fires. Residents in the following areas, please evacuate to Itomori High School. Kadori District. Sakagami District--"

"Evacuate?"

"Let's go."

At the mayor's office, employees stress and hurry to investigate what's happening. Riko's father walks down an aisle of workers on the phone, speaking loudly. "The broadcast isn't ours? Who is it, then?"

"--Miyamori District. Oyazawa District."

"Let's go, (Y/n)!" Sadako and (Y/n) continue riding on the motorbike, taking a shortcut through a trail at the speed of light. Seeing a flock of stairs, Sadako tries sliding the motorbike to stop but instead falls to the ground while (Y/n) is left okay due to her jumping off it. She gasps, rushing back to her friend. "Sadako!" Her friend just grins, pushing herself up and grabbing (Y/n)'s wrists as they nearly jump down the stairs.

The helmets they were wearing were clipped off and thrown elsewhere to prevent suspicion. Once the two reached the ground, they made their way to a crowd of people, yelling at them while a dog ran up to Sadako and barking. "Run, everyone! A forest fire's comin'!"

"Forest fire! Please evacuate!"

"Run! Fire! Run!"

"It's not safe here! Please evacuate!"

The two continue running around, the dog fond of Sadako mindlessly following while citizens seem relatively calm than worried. "We don't have enough time." She turns to (Y/n), grabbing her by the shoulders. "(Y/n)!" When she faced her, Sadako was left with words. "We don't have enough time."

(Y/n) was crying. The tears cascaded down her cheeks as she choked up a wail.

"What's wrong?"

(Y/n) didn't know what to say. She felt herself panic, and the tears just started coming down again. "His name... I can't remember his name!"

Sadako just stared at her in disbelief, thinking, 'are you seriously thinking about this right now?' Frustration built up in her as she exclaimed, stepping forward while her friend stepped away. "Who the hell cares, idiot? You need to finish this thing you started! We can't evacuate everyone by ourselves! Go on and to Riko's dad and bring him around!"

(Y/n) didn't say a single thing but nod. She turns around, sprinting her way out while the tears continue to fall. Sadako watched with a blank face until another explosion sounded off. She turned around rather quickly, staring at it as everyone gasped.

"Again?"

"Another explosion?"

"Everyone run!" She screamed, running around to get the information across. "Get to the high school!"

(Y/n) rushed down the stairs and remained sprinting, the passersby glancing at her or trying to call out to her, ignoring them flat out. Her thoughts were saving the town, but a part of her was still trying to remember his name and face.

"Terrorists wouldn't attack out here!" A manager from the major's office exclaimed. "What's Chubu Electric saying?"

"They're still checking."

"No forest fire yet?" The mayor speaks on his phone, sitting in his office. "Are you sure? All right." He flips his phone off, stands up at the employee in front of him, and points out the window. "Stop this broadcast! Figure out where it's coming from!" The employee flinches at his tone as another comes rushing in with news. "Sir! The Takayama sensor station just called!"

"The high school?"

"Again, residents of the following areas, please evacuate to Itomori High Sch--"

"What are you doing? Turn that off!"

The sirens immediately turn off outside. (Y/n), running past them gasps. "Iko!"

"Oh, lord," Sadako mumbled, still at the festival.

At the school, Riko felt herself let out small cries. She felt pathetic crying over this while the staff of the school escorts her out, holding flashlights as they stare at her. "What have you done, Hayakawa? Your father is gonna get upset." She doesn't respond, just wiping the tears. The sirens go off again, this time, with a welcoming chime.

"This is Itomori Town Hall. We are currently investigating the accident. Please don't panic, and stay where you are until further notice."

Sadako began panicking at the statement, turning to everyone and trying to convince them. "Come on, y'all need to evacuate! The high school is the shelter!"

"Nishikawa!"

The girl froze at the familiar tone, turning to her right to see her father and his co-workers by him, staring at her in puzzlement as they slowly walk their way toward her. "What do you think you're doing?" She didn't know what to say except feel the loss of defeat. She let out a solemn sigh, the dog by her whimpering at her reaction. "Sorry, (Y/n)." She shut her eyes and lifted her head, hesitant to mutter the two words in her mouth. "It's over."

Opening her eyes, her gaze landed on the comet that was beginning the process of its doom. She let out a sharp gasp, cold sweat following. "It's really splittin' apart!"

All over Japan, people could see the splitting comet in the sky, watching the red and blue hues with wonder.

"Tale a look! The comet has split in two, and meteors are falling!"

"This wasn't expected to happen, was it?"

"The only way to describe this sight is "magical."

"So the comet's nucleus has split?"

"Did tidal forces affect..."

"The comet isn't within the Roche limit, so something within the nucleus must have..."

"The NAO hasn't released a statement so far..."

"In 1994, the comet Shoemaker-Levy 9 broke apart and collided with Jupiter."

Riding on a secluded road with his motorcycle roaring, Mikey, who's 15 here, was hearing all about this comet phenomenon for the past few weeks and wanted to find the perfect place to watch it. And this lonely road seemed the ideal spot.

Parking it to the side, the boy gazed at the expansive sky in awe and wonderโ€”his mouth agape at sight. The wind began picking up, his hair gently flowing within the wind. Unaware, though, Sadako and Riko shook the adults by them, trying to convince them to listen.

"Hey. Who are you?"

(Y/n) was still running with every once of breath she could take, but she knew she was reaching her limit when her form began shutting down and begged to stop. She arrived at the apex road where a small dirt trail diverged down the mountain, making her way down. 'Who? Who? Who is he? Someone dear to me. I can't forget. I didn't want to forget!'

She reaches the roads again, turning a sharp right, her body wavering as the thoughts overcome her. 'Who? Who? Who are you? What's your name!?' She looks down at Itomori's glistening lake, huffing heavily before gazing at the diverted comet. She felt her heart drop at its splitting. "It broke!" But suddenly, her foot got caught on a block of concrete that stuck out, causing her to gasp as she fell to the ground, rolling aggressively until she hit a bump and flew in the air slightly.

There she lay. A wind of air was knocked a bit from her lungs as she lay on her side, bringing her arms to her face while scratches and blood started to form. She needed a moment to regain everything. The pressure was so hard. On top of that, she needed to know who that boy's name was.

"So we don't forget when we wake up... Let's write down our names."

She suddenly remembered that thought. Opening her eyes, she slowly opened her right palm.

I love you.

At that moment, she started crying again. Hiccups rang out as she felt her throat hot from the sobs. Snot trailed down her nose. Slowly, she sat up, almost staggering as she stared at her palm. She held it with care, almost letting out a chuckle. "I can't remember your name with this." She brought it to her face and gripped it tightly, pretending to be hugging him.

With this newfound determination, she wiped her eyes and snot, sucked in some air, and took off running.

Having reached the mayor's office, she bursts through the mayor's room, shrieking with barely any breath left. "Mr. Hayakawa!" Riko, who was being scolded by her father, and the mayor look over with wide eyes. Her friend rushed over to her, worried about the batter's appearance. "(Y/n)?"

The mayor glared, standing up from his seat. "I don't have time to hear your--" But (Y/n) simply pushed her way past Riko and over to the mayor, a hardened glare surprised him as sweat dripped.

"It was almost like a scene from a dream. Nothing more, nothing less than a beautiful view."

Mikey gazed at the comets with a grin on his face, having been fascinated by their beauty, watching the splitting comet slowly zoom by as it heads its way to Itomori. The comets fly through the peaceful white clouds and bright sunlight, falling beneath them and entering the dark land of Japan.

The comet had then landed exactly where (Y/n)'s home was located, destroying everything surrounding it and soon, the entire sound. The explosion was delayed before letting out an expansive boom. Boulders fly everywhere, buildings collapse are flying in the air, trees fall apart, and fire ensues as the town was left demolished in the festive night.

With the destroyed down in view with bright daylight, Mikey, 17, had fallen asleep on the crater edges. He slowly opens his eyes to the bright light before sitting up and standing at the view. He lifts his palm, seeing the single black mark. 'I... Where...'

'What am I doing here?'
