"so, whats going on between you and matt?" cici asked kate with curiosity as they walked to class.

kate turned her head, "what?" she questioned as she scrunched her eyebrows in the middle of her face.

"oh, well matt whispered in your ear, you've been staring at matt a lot today," cici started listing.

"okay, woah. that doesn't mean anything. and plus, we do not like each other like that. we don't like each other, period." kate corrected cici as she rolled her eyes.

"sure." she dragged the e in her sentence as she raised her eyebrows.

cici could feel the tension between kate and matt. so she was trying to make it more interesting by talking about it all the time and shipping them together. she knew she secretly liked matt. kate just doesn't know it. but cici can tell she does.

after class, they all met back up together at the same spot they were at before first period.

"hey kitkat." nick exclaimed happily.

"hey nicolas." she mimicked nicks voice.

"ew. don't ever do that again." nicks face scrunched up like he spelled something rotten.

"well, you did it first." kate argued as she crossed her arms.

"hey guys!" someone called out, and they all turned to see who it was- it was holly. kate rolled her eyes in annoyance.

oh god, it's her. i thought she got in trouble, kate thought.

"what the fuck is she doing?" nick whispered to kate, making kate shrug her shoulders.

"i don't fucking know." kate whispered back with annoyance.

kate plastered on a fake smile, and holly just rolled her eyes at her. kate's expression quickly dropped as she rolled her eyes. god did she hate that bitch.

"hey matt, are you free this weekend?" holly asked him in a flirting tone.

matt was free, but not for holly. he literally despises her. he didn't like how she's always tried to flirt with him, it made him uncomfortable- which was odd because he's always hanging out with other girls. she genuinely made him want to throw up. he would rather walk on fucking lava then date holly.

"uhh no. i've got plans." matt lied as he rubbed the back of his neck.

he quickly looked in kate's direction, and she looked at him in confusion. holly shot a look between the two, and immediately made a disgusted face and rolled her eyes.

"what? you got plans with the miss know-it-all." she huffed sharply as she pointed at kate.

kate rolled her eyes, "oh please. i would never want to hang out with him, we hate each other." she spoke as she crossed her arms.

holly just let out a huff as she crossed her arms and rolled her eyes. kate made a disgusted face- she hated the way she acted. she acted like the world revolves around her.

"holly, i thought you got trouble." nick told her, clearly annoyed with her presence.

"yeah, i got detention tomorrow." she replied as she rolled her eyes at him.

"that's your own fault." kate thought, not realizing she said it out loud.

holly snapped her head at her kate, "excuse me?" she argued with her arms crossed.

kate looked at her as she furrowed her eyebrows, "what?" she answered with confusion, but she knew what she'd said.

"why the fuck are you talking about me?" holly snapped at kate angrily.

"why can't you just learn to shut your mouth and stay quiet?" kate immediately argued back at her.

holly just stood there as she crossed her arms and let out a huff. matt stared at kate in amazement, not realizing that he was starting. holly rolled her eyes at matt, she wished she was the one he was staring at, not kate.

"okay, you know what holly? why don't you just leave? you're causing trouble." cici spoke up. she was pissed, no one talks to her best friend like that.

"whatever. i was gonna leave anyways." she groaned as she threw her to her side and walked away from the friend group.

"good, we didn't want you over here anyways." kate yelled to her as she walked away.

"kate!" cici whispered loudly through her teeth.

"what? she was being a bitch." kate exclaimed as she crossed her arms.

cici rolled her eyes and groaned, "what! i thought you didn't like her?" kate yelled. the friend group looked over at her with wide eyes.

"i do, kate. but that doesn't mean you have to be a bitch about it!" cici's anger made her snapped at kate, and it just rolled off her tongue without realizing what that she said it. cici's eyes widen as soon as she realized what came out of her mouth.

"kate i didn't mean that-"

"shut up cici. don't talk me." kate's voice broke as she interrupted her.

she walked past her and walked away from the friend group. everyone watched kate leave, then they all looked over at cici.

"what the hell cici?" nick snapped at her.

"nick im sorry-"

"you know what? just leave, cici." nick interrupted her.

cici stared at him for a few seconds, thinking he was joking at first, but he just stood there. so she just sighed as she turned around and walked off. the rest of them watched her walk away.

"im gonna go find kate." emily finally spoke first.

"okay, do i need to come?" chris asked her as he turned to her.

"no, its fine." she replied to him as she smiled.

"okay then." he smiled back at her.

chris, nick, and matt all watched emily walk away to find kate, and for some reason, matt felt worried for her.

hiiii i finally finished this chapter it took SOO long. ive had writers block for SO long too and its making me mad.

also, again, the tension between kate and matt are KILLING MEEEE.
