EMERSON CARTER JOINS THE CW'S THE VAMPIRE DIARIES

Former Reign and H2O, Emerson Carter has announced she is joining the CW's hit TV show The Vampire Diaries. The show's producer, Julie Plec, revealed Emerson will be playing a surprise role and will play as a series regular on the show.

Emerson's recent show, Reign, ended after its fourth season. The show followed the life of the previous Mary, Queen of Scots. Emerson was seen walking around Atlanta with her best friend, Claire Holt.

The actress recently moved to the U.S. for filming and she has been residing in an apartment in Atlanta. The actress has kept a low profile ever since her split from Xander Martin who has been cast in a number of movies since their split.

The CW has since released a few photos of Emerson's character.
