━ chap 17. the spider society !

Red Venom's bottom lip trembles as her eyes went wide in fear, and felt two different hands help lift her up, but she was solemn focused on the now terrifying looking Spot, "What..?"

"See you back home..." His words trail out in a eerie, and dark way as the abys around him began to be pulled into his body, and then disappeared without a trace, "(Y/N)."

Despite the building starting to fall apart around her in where once the Spot was, everything was muffled for her ears to hear, as their was an eerie ringing echoing in them instead.

Two figures were crouched in front of her disserted self, as she saw Miles trying to talk to her, and Hobie's hand on her shoulder, also talking but she couldn't understand what they were saying.

She groaned under her breath with another sharp pain in the back of her head, and clutched the sides of it in her hands, wanting to ignore what was occurring around her. Though the boys wouldn't allow that to continue, as they both tugged Red Venom up by the arms, and Miles grabbed onto her wrist watching as she tripped back down.

Red Venom let her brother lead her out of the crumbling building, her vison blurred while her thoughts raced uncontrollably, cascading like an avalanche of fears and worries at what Spot really meant. Each attempt to break free from the shackles of panic, it seemed to only tightens it grips around her.

Hobie was running next to her making sure she didn't lag behind them, as Gwen and Pav were in front to lead the group out, and Miles still had a hold on her wrist to pull her along safely. He lead her through the hallways, and out of the labs as Pav was shouting at everyone to get out of the fallen building.

Sun light had hit her now sensitive eyes underneath her mask, and reached up a hand to block it out as she was tugged by Miles just before a rock could slam into her. The Alchemax building was splitting apart from Spot's event, and was going to fall on top of the city below.

The Spider-lings all run up to the railing above the mess, as Red Venom's senses were slowly coming back to her after her bad state before, and stood in between them all, "We'll clear the path," She placed a hand on Pav's shoulder seeing him freaking out, and directed her words at the others, "you slow down that building!"

As she told them that she hopped onto the ledge of the railing, and took the first nose dive off it as the others all followed her lead straightaway, webs shooting to surfaces to catch themselves.

"I'll do it, only because I'm a fan of yours. Not because you told me to!" Hobie called out to her, as he and Gwen disappeared away from the other three to deal with the falling building, and swinged around to place webs all around it.

When they had gotten grips on the building with their webs tied around it, Hobie and Gwen were standing on top of another building on opposite side, and began to try and slow the fall.

Down below where all the citizens were in harms way from the loose rubble, one of them was knocked down with a yell, and was easily caught by Pav. Right underneath him swinging through the bridges passing, the Morales siblings were passing him, and aimed two webs in between two different surfaces to produce momentum for their big jump.

Once their masked eyes caught onto a few people still on the bridge, their holds on the webs were let go, and their bodies were flying directly towards where the family was. Red Venom picked up a little girl who immdienly latched onto her body, and Miles grabbed the kids father in his arms.

They met up with Pav swinging in the air, as all the Spider-lings attention was drawn back onto Alchemax, and their eyes go wide in sync sensing the webs weren't going to hold it up. And not even a second later, the webs around it snapped which sent the building toppling down fast, and created a even more mess of flying rubble and dust.

The citizens in the houses, apartment's, and buildings around the area all screamed seeing this happening, and rushed away from the windows to get to safety if they could. Red Venom had placed the girl in her arms somewhere safe who thanked her with a kiss on her cheek, and was back again up in the air afterwards.

As much as she wanted every single Alchemax to crumble and burn in hell, she knew she had a job to do and rescue all these innocent people who got tangled up in their work. Sharing nods with her team all beside her, they all went to act at once and began to grab the peolpe around them.

Red Venom shot two webs in front of her, ignoring the burning pain she now felt in using her weapons, and swinged herself inside of the open window of a building. She landed gracefully inside, and plucked up two people underneath her arms, throwing them up into the air, and many more as she run through the crumbling building.

She jumped out of the window at top speed with two more people safely in her arms, and felt her Spider senses tingle causing her to throw the citizens in her arms to the others flying in the air. She twisted her body back around, and gritted her teeth as she aimed a kick at the massive rock falling down to the, as it now smashed into many little pieces.

Above her Pav and Miles appeared to come help her out, as the latter swooped down to catch a few people in his arms, and Pav used his yo-yo swing to wrap a web around their bodies. He span around with them in his web, as his free hand latched onto Red Venom's one who held onto Miles one, and all dumped the people safely on another building.

Red Venom and the other two outstretched their arms to aim a web at the same spot, and were all propelled forward to land in sync on the crooked building of Alchemax. She skidded on her suited feet to get a grip, as she shot another web at the edge of the building, and pulled herself forward to flying above in the air.

All the others soon joined her in a side by side sequences of poses, as Red Venom was certained in the middle of the group, her arm out behind her, and knees bent to her chest to hold herself up in the air.

A lot of terrified screams, cries, and shouts came from down on the main bridge of India, as the fleeing citizens witnessed the falling building about to land on them up above. The Spider team all turned to Red Venom who sent them a smirk, and a head nod down to the bridge.

Many webs shot out to latch onto the people on the overpass that was raining rubble, and dust from within the air, and the webs all tugged them away to safety. Hobie was on the bridge already grabbing a few civilians in his arms, and got them away, as Pav was struggling with saving a falling bus, that had his girlfriend inside of it.

Gwen had just picked up two people in her hold, and placed them gently on a roof's ledge as she takes a breather for a second. That was until Lyla's voice and hologram popped up on her watch, "Gwen, heads up. Markers are predicting an incoming canon event."

She warns the Spider, while looking at the stuff on her screen, and then glances up at Gwen with a serious look, "Don't let Red anywhere near it. Miguel's mad enough as it is with her being here, don't make it worse."

Ghost Spider gulped nervously, as she nodded her head and swings down back down to the bridge as Lyla's figure disappears from the watch, "I'm on it." She assurees, and picked up another person over her shoulder, webbing away to safety.

Red Venom swinged through the bridges chaos with four people in her hold, two being underneath her arms, another being around her back, and the last was attached to a web she was holding tightly.

She landed with a heavy pant down beside Miles, and Gwen, as she lets them people off carefully who thanked her frantically with tears, and soon run off down the railing away from the area. She gripped the railing with both hands to stable herself, and felt another sharp pain in her head that caused her to audible wince loudly.

Miles heard that noise from his sister who felt his stomach twist with unease again, as he now saw how hair's ends were completely scarlet red, and spotted how bad her hands were shaking. Before he could even say anything, she was already back up and glancing around rapidly to find something.

Red Venom's Spider senses piked up an massive amount, and turned her head to see a man still on the bridge with a small child, trying to run away but couldn't, "I got them, I got them!" She called to the others next to her, and went to dive off by their hands outstretched to grab her wrist.

"No! You're in bad shape right now, (N/N)-" Miles tried to protest in a worried exclaim, but she just sent him a reassuring grin, and tugged her hand out of their hold easily, while shooting a web at their arms.

"He's right, Red! It's too dangerous for you-!" Gwen also yelled in rising panic knowing what would happen, and tried to rip off the web around her wrists, but it wouldn't budge whatsoever.

"Relax. I'm Red Venom, remember?" She assured confidently as she descended towards the ground with her face facing them, pointing to her chest and ignored their shouts for her to come back, "I'll be alright, promise!"

Just when she disappeared from their view, her expression shifts into a determined one, and flips herself over as she aimed a web at a pillar, and tugged forward quickly. She swiftly swooped down to grab onto the officer, and child as she run across the bridge, dodging the falling pieces behind them just in time.

However she wasn't so lucky, when the entire Alchemax building ended up crashing where they were, and all their figures vanished within the dust in the air. Miles, Gwen, and Hobie landed on the wall beside this, holding on with one hand as Miles' eyes went wide in horror not spotting his older sister anywhere.

He quickly jumped down from where they were perched onto, and the other two follow afterwards as Hobe helps Pav with bringing up the bus. Miles and Gwen were frantically looking around for their missing team member, the one who was most important right now.

"(Y/N)!" Miles called out in a desperate tone, as he rushed up to where the rumble was and placed his suits hands on it, "No, no, no, no..." Tears began to sting his eyes, as he pushed away some of the objects with Gwen's help, and glanced to another pile of rumble across from them, "Red! (Y/N), answer me!"

A sudden loud grunting noise coming from within underneath the rumbles they were arriving at, and Miles' gasped in utter relief spotting who was there. Red Venom used her incredible strength to stop the massive rock crushing them, using one shaking arm to hold it up as the other was cradling the scared child.

"Little help here, guys?" She strains out through her teeth, muscles tensing and veins pulsed on her forehead, as she felt herself beginning to cave from the weight of the rock.

Miles chuckled breathily with teary eyes still, and placed his hands under the rubble with Gwen beside him, as they all pulled up the objects on them with grunts. They pushed away the rubble easily all together, and Red Venom exhaled heavily to catch her breath.

"You're alright!" Miles tackled his older sister in a rough hug, making the air get knocked out of her chest, as he rested his masked face in the crook of her neck, and his arms wrapped around her back, "Don't scare me like that again!"

She smiled faintly down at him, and used her free arm that wasn't being hold by the child to hug Miles back, "I promised, remember?" She aimed this at Gwen also who released a breath of relief, and nodded her head back, despite knowing what was going to happen now after the rescue.

Next to them out of the rubble, Cayatri's father Inspector Singh appeared and sent Red Venom a grateful smile, and then to the other two with her. Once the bus was up on the bridge, Cayatri run up to her father to hug him, and Red Venom stood near them with the girl cradle in her arms tightly.

"Not bad, right?" She moved her masked gaze to a worrying Gwen opposite to her with Miles, and raised her lips into a joyful smirk as they had saved this city.

Gwen glanced down at her glowing watch on her wrist, stomach churning with unease as she saw the 'Canon Event Disrupted' in big writing on it, "Right.." She answered hesitantly, masked eyebrows slanting up.

"Thank you for saving me, miss." A small voice spoke up from within Red Venom's arms, and it made the hero's eye direct down to her, seeing the young girls bright grin, "You're so cool!"

She chuckled bashfully and gently placed the girl on the ground who slowly removed her clinging hold on her, "Anything time, kid." She replied, voice soft yet resolute as she watched the girl wave back, and run towards the crowd of people whom held her parents.

Miles and Gwen smiled at the scene also, this part of the job they always enjoyed and loved watching it happen to others. The trio all turn around hearing Inspector Singh and Pav talking with Cayatri, who were all wearing grateful expressions at Red Venom.

Pav placed a suited hand up to his chest at Red Venom, and bowed his head a little bit to show his gratitude, causing her to grow bashful again, but sent him an even bigger grin back.

"Girl like, (Y/N)!" Hobie's familiar British accent called out, him appearing beside the star hero right now and placed his hands on her shoulders, shaking her a little, "This is why you're m'favourite."

She tilted head sheepishly towards him, seeing how his body changed to pink somehow when he touched her, and he continued to shake her around. The others all came up beside her in the other, as the crowd around them began to clap, and cheer for their heroes saving the day.

Hobie gently fist bumped Red Venom's left arm, and reached over to do the same thing to Miles, while he kept one hand on the girls shoulder, all savouring in the cheers for them.

Though the happy moment didn't last very long surpsingly, and just as the objects in Pav's universe began to glitch, Red Venom's body also freaked out and it caused her kneels to buckle. Before she could fall over with a pained groan, Hobie and Miles were quick to catch her sides, and hold her up in between them.

"It's getting worse," Gwen mumbled to herself in concern, eyebrows furrowed deeply, and looked down at her watch from beside them, muttering lowly some more.

"Yeah, you think?" Hobie's tone was sharp a bit, and took over holding the girl up by the waist, while Miles stayed close to them. Hobie shot Gwen a look from underneath his mask, and walked with Red Venom up near the edge with the others to glance down.

"Guys, what's that?" Pav questioned in a small, nervous voice, as he held his fingers together and looked to his friends for some answers.

Hobie stepped a bit just over the edge, making sure to keep Red Venom back away as he saw a black hole forming, and the buildings getting sucked in, "It's a metaphor for capitalism."

Red Venom bit back a tired snort at his sudden comment, as she was leaning her weight against him, and heard Gwen's eerie answer, "It's a lot worse than that."

More glitching waves pulsed over the environment, as the group looked up into the sky an saw a descending ship that seemed to be a spider. It's long legs opened up, and landed ontop of the bridge, as the ramp transformed out to see Spider-lings walking out of it.

"Okay, guys." Jessica's familiar figure was one of these Spider's, as she motioned to the area around them and walked onto the ground, "Secure the area, clear all civilians, and let's contain this quantum hole."

Red Venom's lulling head perked up hearing Jess' voice, and removed herself from Hobie's hold who let go reluctantly, "Jess! I don't know if you remember me," She began off in a awkward way, and pulled up her brother beside her, "but this is Miles! My brother-"

Jessica just went past them without answering her, and kept her face straight ahead which stung Red Venom a little bit, "I know who you two are," She spoke over her, and sent the younger girl a small side glance, "you most importantly."

The (H/C) haired girl made a confused sound hearing this, and sharded a look with Miles who shrugged with a bafflement also. They followed behind the group towards the edge again, and watched as the new Spider group drop down to the dark abyss below.

"Okay... let me- let me explain-" Gwen tried to fumble out excuses as Jessica turned around to walk back, and the younger one gestured to the Morales siblings.

"Miguel wants you back at HQ." Jessica answered the girl quickly while typing something in her watch, and the same she spoke caused Red Venom's stomach to flip inside out with butterflies. Not good ones either.

"(Y/N), and Miles were just about to head out-"

Jessica pointed a finger at the small group, and interpreted Gwen's words once more, "All of you, that includes Red." She replied sharply, and went to walk off back into the ship.

"I don't follow orders. Neither do they." Hobie wrapped his arms over the siblings shoulders loosely, and tapped their arms in gesuerment.

"We're invited to HQ?" Miles perked up with a cheer, and clapped his hands as he broke out of Hobie's hold, who pinched the bridge of his suited noise at the males response, sharing a look with Red Venom who chuckled nervously.

......

The four of them travel through the colourful, glitching portal down into their next detestation, despite how badly Red Venom wanted to dip after hearing who would be hear, and where they were heading to.

They all flip over to land gracefully inside a barely lit elevator, as the Morales siblings land beside each other behind the other two. Red Venom pressed the button on her wrist underneath her suit, and her mask slowly disappeared with a hair shake to rustle her locks.

Miles also pulled off his mask to release a breath of air, and their eyes fall on Hobie who pulled his mask off also. (Y/N)'s mouth also drops seeing what he looked like underneath, as his dark eyes flickered to them, and sent a smug smirk her way.

"How are you even cooler under your mask?" Miles questioned the other make, breaking the silence and took the words right out his sisters mouth.

Hobie tucked his hand in his jacket pockets, and raised one of his eyebrows, as his retorted with confidence, "I was just cool the whole time."

The corner of (Y/N)'s lips lift up at the interaction between them, and only then realised they were actually upside down inside the lift as her hair was upwards. Her jaw drops in awe spotting the outside environment, and pressed a hand against the glass to look out more with Miles next to her.

EARTH- 928

"Hey." The siblings felt taps on their shoulders, and turned back to see Gwen standing there while motioning to the exist of the evaluator, "Over here."

Another bright light had hit their eyes as the lift doors slowly opened up, and the siblings follow after the group closely, "Yo, this place is wild!" Miles exclaims starstruck and (Y/N) instantly agreed with her younger brother, gazing around at the scene around them.

Many pathways filled with Spider-lings were everywhere, starting from the bottom and up, cris crossing, and so on. There was no where inside that a Spider wasn't seen on, nor walking to get wherever they needed to go.

Her hand gripped onto Miles' suit sleeve despite her being the older sibling, she still acted like the younger one when it came to crowds of unfamiliar people. A lot of conversations filled their eyes, and she felt the gazes of many trained on her, followed by whispers that seemed to be talking about her arrival.

"This is unbelievable!" Miles comments with a wide disbelief grin, and slips his hand into his sisters one to pull her up beside him, sensing she was lagging behind with Hobie.

"This is the lobby." Gwen answered the male as they arrived at the end of the hallway, and pointed to the everlasting paths of Spider-lings in the building, "Welcome to Spider Society!"

......

The group moved up onto a pathway where it wasn't upside down, as the girls hair was now laying down on their shoulders. Hobie walked in between the siblings towards Gwen, "Bit much, innit?" He mumbled to them, gaining a small laugh from (Y/N) and a look from Miles.

"What happened to that small elite strike team?" Miles asked in an accusing way to Gwen, as he saw all the Spiders around them which was a lot compared to what they were told.

She waves her hands in the air with a awkward chuckle, "A lot of these are part-time." Gwen tried to assures them, which didn't help whatsoever as they contuiend to walk behind the group.

"Gwendy, how much have you told them?" Hobie asked the shorter girl beside him, as he had his hands in his now coloured changed orange jacket, "About this place and all this?"

"A little-"

Before she could continue talking, behind them to siblings began to glitch again, and it caused (Y/N)'s knees to buckle with pained pants. Her hands were pressed against the floor, as the glitching still kept going even after Miles' stopped, which caused Gwen to rush over to her in distress.

"Maybe not enough." Hobie voiced in concern as he was crouched beside (Y/N)'s heavily breathing figure, and shared a sharp look with Gwen next to both siblings.

The Morales girl was seriously getting sick of this bullshit, as it really did hurt her badly, and felt it inside her veins every time it happened. Her Spider senses weren't helping the pain either, as it made it tens time worse, and once again didn't realize how her hair was even more scarlet red now, followed by her eyes becoming darker shade for a second.

"Here." Jessica throws the siblings something from her spot, and Miles catched them both to give his sister hers, as he slipped it onto her wrist gently, and his next, "It's to keep you from-" (Y/N) glitched once more even with the wristband on, causing the four around her to furrow their brows worriedly, "...doing that."

Once the freak out was over on her body, she released a labour breath of air, and got pulled up by Miles and Hobie, "M'fine guys, don't worry." She reassured with a tired smile, and motioned ahead lazily, "Let's keep going."

No one protested at this though they kept their eyes closely on her just in case, as she walked beside Miles again, his hand gripping her suits forearm material.

A group of marching Spider-man's in different suits come through the pathway they were on, holding some sort of canons and spotted the (H/C) haired girl, "Ooh! Look! It's the girl who boss talks about!" One of the Peters comment in a cheeky tone while passing them, as the girl sends him a incredulously look and turns away with an embarrassed expression.

"Hey, Red Venom! Big fan of yours!" Another Spider-man calls out to her from his group, as her group walked upwards to another path, and she sheepishly waved a greeting at the Peters.

"Peter, take a team to the transport deck to help deal with this Spot mess." Jess orders the car buggy that just pulled up beside them, and many more Peters land inside the car, as it drives away now.

"I wouldn't call it a mess." Miles corrected the woman with a toothy smile, and popped up behind her with (Y/N) glancing around at everything, "More like a... success in progress."

Jess ignored his words with a bored face, and looked to the male on the wall they were walking past, "Ben, I need you to-"

"Sorry. I can't talk right now." He held a hand up to show he couldn't, as he had his head placed against the wall along with one of his arms bent, "Thinking about my past."

"Actually, we need you here, for some reason." Jessica reponed with a deadpan, and they passed the man who groaned loudly hearing her words, slowly sliding down the wall.

(Y/N) winced in sympathy for Ben's behalf as she walked next to Hobie, who was only a few inches shorter then her and stops to look at the groaning Ben. Though a sudden neighing noise caused her to yelp surprise, and spotted a horse directly in her face.

"Hey, the name's Web-Slinger." An upside down male with a cowboy hat introduced himself, and tipped his hat down at her, "And you must be the lovely, Red Venom,"

She blinked rapidly at the last comment, not knowing how to react as she soon started to giggle a little bit when Web-Slingers horse licked her cheek, and nuzzled her masked head into the girls face, "Why does the horse need a mask, though?"

"To conceal her face." Web-Slinger answered in an accent, just as his horse pulled back with another neigh and huffed out some air, "Giddy... up!" He was tugged upwards along with his horse by his webs, and disappeared from her view.

......

"Who is in these laser cages?" (Y/N) now questioned curiously as she had caught up with the group, and was walking through a hallway full of what she said right beside Miles once more.

A hologram figure of Lyla appeared above her eyes, making the girl yelp surprised and back off a little bit, "Anomalies. Folks who wound up in the wrong dimension." Lyla answered with a welcoming grin, and waved her small hands, "Hey again, Red! Nice to see you."

"Y-yeah, same goes to you." (Y/N) mumbled with a nervous smile, and watched as Lyla sat on her shoulder comfortable as they walked through the pathway, and didn't bother moving just yet.

"They're not very interesting." Gwen voiced her opoin with an arm nudge to the siblings, and Lyla felt offended hearing the girls words, as she shot her a weird look.

Lyla disappeared from (Y/N)'s shoulder to appear in the air, and began to motion to the many captured things inside the jails, "We got a bunch'a Doc Ocs. A Mysterio, a Missterio." A female version of the second one was shown in a laser jail, hands on her hips, and Lyla moved onto something different.

"Video game guy," Lyla pointed to a Spider-man behind the prison as Miles would comment his input sometimes, and spotted the other video game character, "another video game guy..."

(Y/N) tuned out the rest of the conversation between Miles and Lyla, as she felt her Spider-senses go off all of a sudden, making her glance around the area rapidly, Her (E/C) eyes narrowed down on the roof where she spotted a camera trained on them, well actually pointed at her, and sent a heated glare up to it having a feeling she knew who was currently watching them.

She kept that gaze up until she knew it landed its effect, and turned her head straight forward when Lyla appeared back on her shoulder, still chatting away. (Y/N) watched a little bit amused, as Miles was talking to Spider-Byte, aka Margo Kess and saw how Gwen was hurrying them up.

Catching up with the group the Morales girl stood in between them all, and raised her eyebrows at the machine across the room from them, "Now, what does that do?"

"Apart from having a great name?" Hobe nudged his shoulder against hers, and placed his hands in his jackets pockets again to face her way.

Gwen crossed her arms over her chest beside Miles, and made a wide eyed facial expression, as she answered, "Go Home Machine."

"What'd I say, eh?" Hobie says in a knowing tone, as he dipped his head up a little bit, and (Y/N) sent him a grin that made him chuckle amused.

The machine began to create a colorful forcefield around the glitching person inside the barrier, and Spider-Byte goes to explain what it does from her computer, "It detects whatever dimension your DNA is from, and sends you there."

"Super humane, and not creepy." Hobie murmured when Spider-Byte appeared over next to them, and the Morales siblings faces shifted into shocked ones. They watched the male inside the machine start to disappear in a massive light show, that lit up the room and the groups faces standing there.

Lyla sways her legs back and forth on (Y/N)'s right shoulder, and waves her hands smugly at the anomaly, as she calls out, "See you, guy! Don't come back!"

Once that was over Gwen was straight back into her formal ways, "We should go. We don't wanna keep Miguel-" Her words trailed off in the distance, as she walked off towards the exist with Jessica.

"Hey, good luck out there guys." Spider-Byte spoke to the two still beside her, and sent (Y/N) a small smile to which she gave one back, but yelped when Hobie shot a web at her back, and pulled her along with Miles up to where they were.

"Miguel sounds hangry." Lyla comments when they were all together, and appeared over (Y/N)'s head again as she looked up with wide eyes hearing his name again, "But I think he'll be calmer now that Red's here."

Everyone in the group agreed with Lyla's statement, expect for the siblings as (Y/N) stuttered with a gaping mouth, and stomped her way up ahead of them, not wanting to hear anymore of their silly conversation.

next chapter is gonna be so (not) great to write omg shits just gonna get worse for y/n, and her 'issue' right now.... yeahh angst, and all that shit comin right up frr 😋😋
