{11} Bugs Drinking Sake
Denki Kaminari was late.
You could argue the reason behind it, but the young blonde didn't give any type of shits. After many months of longing and unreciprocated love, he finally got nailed by his crush. Actually, not even his crush anymore:
His boyfriend!
As he rushed down the streets of the waking town with unkempt hair and a half unbuttoned uniform, he couldn't help but wonder what would've happened if he stayed that morning.
"Aish, no. I mustn't think about that," Denki shook his head, already feeling the rising heat in his cheeks. "He's probably gone back to bed!"
After passing by the bakery to grab a light breakfast, a bagel (denki = nagito komaeda confirmed), he made his way towards the dock. As expected, his fellow workers were already preparing cargo ships to sail, tying arriving boats to poles, and what he was in charge of, inspecting cargo.
"Oi! Denks!" a bright voice boomed in his right ear.
A little devil popped onto his shoulder, a.k.a Ashido, who was beaming brightly.
"You're a little late today don't cha' think?"
Tape man appeared to his left, leaning on him with a smug look.
"Well, would ya' look at that."
"What!? What's going on Sero!?" Mina asked.
"That's a pretty nice bug bite you got there."
Sero pointed to a patch of dark red badly hidden behind a collar, standing out from Kaminari's pale skin.
Mina's eyes were the size of dinner plates. Her breath shaky, she slowly turned to Denki with fists balled, a sickening smile tugging to her ears.
"Denki Pika Pika Kaminari..."
"Ashido Pinky Pinky Mina..."
"KAMINARI!" A voice called from behind, interrupting the beginning of a murder.
The blonde stops to hear heavy, ragged breaths that sound all too familiar.
Shinsou looks up, sweat dripping. "You... ha... run fast, Baby."
"BABY!?" Mina screeches. Denki felt the warmth rising back into his cheeks.
She grabs his collar and starts shaking Kaminari as he'd had thrown her John Deere Z335E 20-HP V-Twin Dual Hydrostatic 42-in Zero-turn Lawn Mower with Mulching Capability in the ocean.
"YOU IDIOT IM LITERALLY GONANANS KILLDKD YOUDUD WHYDYD DIDID YOUI AGAGAHSHSHSH//$/&&$:$::!;&"
"Iโ" Denki started to say, but was stopped as a pair of strong arms loop around his waist.
"Y'know, I was gonna make you breakfast~"
Shinsou whispered hotly into his ear, the blonde felt his stomach tighten.
"Oh, haHA... r-really?"
He leaned in closer, their bodies pressed together. Denki squirmed under his embrace.
"Yeah, and I was planning to have another round later."
"How about right now?"
"You asked for it."
"Could you get your head out of each other's asses? We're still here y'know."
Sero yanked the two hoes apart, nonetheless both still looking hungry for each other.
Meanwhile, Ashido... she was knocked out by the overwhelming amount of happiness.
After a minute or two, the four went about their morning doing their separate jobs. In the meanwhile Mina bombarding Denki with questions whom he denied. As the day went on and the sun now bright in the sky, he couldn't stop taking glances at Shinsou. Who in fact was staring at the blonde as well.
The blonde smiled softly, tugging a piece of his yellow hair behind his ear.
He could remember every touch, every breath, every mark that Shinsou left on his body. It made himself heated even at the thought of recalling it.
The morning turned into an early afternoon, and the Bakusquad were sacks of potatoes at this point. Their shift had ended, which they were undoubtedly thankful for. Immediately they changed out of their uniforms at a nearby restroom.
"Ah... so, what do you guys want to do today?" Mina asked once they all reunited back on the boardwalk.
"We could go bike?" Sero suggested.
"Too hot," Mina waved him off.
"How about we go to visit the lighthouse? Haven't been there in a while," Denki said.
"Perfect!"
Children were running down the streets, shops bustling with customers, and adults gathered on the cobbled floor, making decorations for the upcoming festival.
Ah, that's right, the festival.
"You guys going?" the blonde gestured at the banners.
Mina nodded her head excitedly, "I'll be able to wear my new yukata my dad bought me! Might even be able to spot a cute boy!"
Sero winced at the last remark and Denki gave him a sympathetic smile.
"I'll be going as well," the tall boy answered, scratching his nape. "Might find some fresh oranges."
They all kept moving along until Denki noticed two figures sitting at a table outside of the cafe. His stance stiffened as he realized who they were.
-
"Shitty Hair. Calm. The Fuck. Down," Bakugou said for the millionth time today.
"You. Shut. The Fuck. Up."
They were seated at an umbrella table, the ticked off blonde tugging his hair in frustration. He had enough listening to Kirishima blubber about being a bad friend when all he had to do was just apologize and all would be over with it.
Bakugou sighed and took a sip of his drink, not even annoyed anymore, just exhausted.
"Bakugou... what if... what if they drop me?" Kirishima whimpered as he tapped the table anxiously. "They've been my best friends ever since we were kids!"
"If they've been your best friend since you were kids, I don't think a little tantrum would put an end to it all."
Kiri slowly lifted his head and tilted it. "You really think so?"
Behind him, the blonde notices a familiar trio of dumb idiots, standing there looking awkward as hell. Letting out a 'tch', he motions his cup towards the group, making Shitty Hair tense up.
"You can do it," Bakugou mumbled softly, giving a reassuring nod.
Kirishima stands up, first curled in a tight ball.
"Guys... I was being a complete asshole yesterday!"
"You think?" Denki raised a brow as Mina smacked him.
"It was wrong of me, to.. bring out my emotions onto you all. I know y'all just wanted to have fun exploring and I had to be the party pooper. I apologize for everything I said to you, I didn't mean it. Well, I kind of sort of did because I really do care aboutโ"
Before Kirishima could even finish, he was wrapped into a tight hug.
"Kiri... you should have told us you were going through shit earlier," Mina whispered.
"I know..." Kirishima closed his eyes.
"We're your bro's for life dude," Denki mumbled. "No way we're splitting up over something like this!"
The redhead smiled as he heard a cackle erupt from Sero, the others following. He still felt the guilt in him, but it was tiny now.
At this moment, he had his best friends back, and boy, was he relieved.
Bakugou watched as Kirishima's sullen expression disappear, his dorky grin and puppy personality switched back on again. He wouldn't ever admit, well, this is Bakugou, he doesn't do feelings (#edgy).
But now, he had his Kirishima back, and boy, was he relieved.

After that whole soap opera incident, Alien insisted on dragging the group to a lighthouse. Bakugou had seen the lighthouse while passing by on the island but never had the opportunity to go. So, this time he didn't have any reason to complain.
Per usual, he stalked behind the group, hands in pockets, looking out towards the sea. So much had happened the past week, and the blonde had felt as if he'd had lived at Yama Island for his entire life.
At this thought, he frowned. He was getting way too attached to this place.
"And I like, jumped y'know? Like really high!"
Bakugou's eyes darted to Kirishima, who was walking side by side with Eyebags, whom Dunce Face picked up along the way.
Kirishima's red orbs sparkled and ears tinted with pink.
He looked at Shinsou almost as if....?
Wait, why does he care who Kirishima likes or dates? He's his friend. Besides, that redhead and him could never become more than friends. Mostly because the blonde couldn't see him anymore than that.
Right?
Katsuki grunted and shook his head. No need to think about nonsense like that. He felt for his camera and held it up towards the sea, the sunny sky, and busy harbor in view.
He smiled until he saw three monkeys photobomb his winning shot. His eye twitched as he stuffed his camera in his bag, sprinting uphill.
"GET BACK HERE YOU IDIOTS!"
"Wah... it really has been a while.." Mina sighs with a small smile, setting her bag down on the floor.
After many stairs and many races, they finally made it to the top of the lighthouse. Bakugou was the last to arrive and was surprised to see the room in front of him.
It was almost like those secret headquarters in movies. There was a gigantic map of the island on the floor, crayons, markers, toys, and other things scattered about. Messy drawings hung on the wall, looking to be child-like.
Bakugou couldn't hold in a laugh when he looked at one, seeing it was a drawing of what seemed to be a group hug of all of them. But instead looked like multi-colored stick men having a wrestling match.
"So, Shinsou, Bakugou, whaddya think?" Mina asks, gesturing around the room.
"Not too shabby for a spy quarters," Shinsou shrugs, picking up a book.
Mina grins and turns to Bakugou expectantly. But is let down to see him already outside and leaning against the railing. The Bakusquad follows him up the last flight of stairs to the balcony. As always, Bakugou takes out his camera to take some photos of everything, making Kirishima smile.
"Hey Bakugou," he said as he placed a hand on his shoulder. "Wanna take a picture of me?"
"No."
"Please?"
"No."
Denki pressed up against the blonde.
"Kirishima said please Daddyโ"
Denki walked away with a concussion.
"Y'know I'm a good model," Kirishima mused, leaning against the glass behind him.
"I don't care."
"Please?"
Bakugou hesitates for a moment behind the camera.
"No."
Discouraged, the redhead pouts and goes back to talking with the others, leaving Bakugou alone. The blonde sighed as he slumped on the railing, letting his camera hang from his neck.
"Hey!"
His eyes found the pink-haired alien approaching him, carrying a bottle of sake in hand.
"What's up? You're quieter than usual."
"How do you know that?"
"Eh, I can read people's aura," Mina smirked as she took a sip from the bottle.
Bakugou rolled his eyes but took the bottle when Mina offered it to him.
"I guess..." He starts. "There's a lot on my mind."
"Like what?"
Katsuki's eyes slowly make their way over towards the side. But then closed them tightly shut, hearing an erupting giggle.
"Why are... you... laughing?" He asked through gritted teeth.
Mina just smiled and twirled around, slightly tipsy from the alcohol and from the giddiness in her heart.
"Kirishima," she stated blatantly.
"What.. about him?"
"You FANCY OOOO ๐ค๐ผhim don't you?"
Bakugou froze.
Pinky's eyes widened but at the same time, a big grin stretched from ear to ear.
"Hey, hey, it's okay you're a great guy sโ"
"No."
"Hm?"
"He's just a friend. It's impossible to imagine doing anything else more than that."
Mina passed the almost empty glass of sake to Bakugou and leaned against the railing as well, looking off to sea. As Bakugou drank the last drop, the pink-haired girl said,
"Then you wouldn't mind if I kiss you?"
He choked and spit out his drink, brows furrowing. Bakugou's face contorted as Mina began to pucker up and lean in. He took a step back and smacked her lightly with his palm.
"That's what I thought you'd do!"
The blonde scowled. "No, I did it because you're fucking repulsive."
"Whatever dude,"
Mina put a hand on her hip, using the other to gesture down. "There's a festival happening next week in town and I think you should take Kirishima."
"Why?"
"Don't 'why' me! If you and him are such good friends, I don't see a problem taking a good ol' buddy! You think I was suggesting something else?"
"What? No, no of course not," Bakugou murmured.
"Brilliant! In that case, Shinsou and I will help you get ready for the festival!"
Kirishima's crush and/or Dunce Face's Boyfriend?
"What'll I get out of this?"
Mina thinks for a minute before turning on the heel.
"A manly broship."
-
"Guys, I have to tell you something," Denki says with a low voice, head hanging down.
"What's up Denks?" Sero asked, downing another bottle of sake, lazily spread out on the floor.
Kiri threw a dart at a bullseye hung on the wall. "You didn't lose Fish the hermit crab again did you?"
"No, it's not that! He's doing just fine."
They all had gathered back inside, the sun beginning to set, and the wind blowing softly through the room. The walls were dimmed yellow and pink from the old lampshade and late afternoon light.
The whole afternoon everyone got drunk, had a few laughs, and now, mostly everyone has sobered up. Some more or less than others.
Kaminari fiddled with the seams of his shirt nervously. Finally, he raised a hand, which was interlocked with Shinsou's.
"I'm... we're.. ah, fuck it we're are dating."
Mina snorted. "No shit Sherlock."
"You think we didn't notice?" Sero smirked, throwing his arms over both their shoulders. "Especially with the late morning and special breakfast~?"
The young blonde laughed shyly while Shinsou turned away with a smug grin.
"Woah! Congrats you two!" Kirishima exclaimed, throwing a double thumbs up.
Bakugou looked at the redhead. A small smile formed on those rose-colored lips, seeming longing.
The blonde felt a sting.
He was sure that Kirishima liked the purple-haired boy, analyzing the signs over the past few days. It bothered him.
The surfer caught Bakugou's stare.
"Ain't it wonderful those two finally got together? Well, to be honest, it's not a surprise!" He laughed.
Bakugou frowned.
How could someone be so happy to find out their crush is dating one of their best friends?
"I guess," He replied with a shrug. Besides, he already knew anyways.
"Hey, hey, hey!" Sero clinked a spoon against an empty bottle.
The whole group silenced as Sero walked to the back of the room, pulling out more packs of sake, a mischievous smile on his face.
"In honor of our newlyweds, I pronounce drinking party part two!"
He hands each a bottle. Bakugou grabs his and opens the lid carefully. While on the other side of the room, Mina and Denki were already halfway done.
Despite what most people think, Katsuki wasn't a heavy drinker. A drink or two was enough for him, Mostly it was because when he drank too much, he became vulnerable, and no one, especially him, wants that.
Taking slow sips every once in a while, Bakugou watched as the others guzzle theirs down.
He was not sure why, and sure he'll never know, but with these people, these idiots, he felt a feeling so nice it made him feel weird.
There was Alien, the weird, trendy, gossip girl. She could be a little too muchโ screw that. She could be VERY much. Quite annoying. But at the same time, she's considerate and earnest. Bakugou had never met anyone more determined to deepen a "broship" more than her.
Weedy Long Legs. His description is basically in the name. Standing at 177 cm, the tall boy would always cheekily mess around with everyone, poking cheeks, and most ironically interesting of all just being a "plain face". Bakugou would somehow feel refreshed with him. Who was a stoner but in a different font. Also, annoying.
Dunce Face. A dumb ass bitch who highkey is in real life Pikachu. Like the others, annoying but on a whole different level. Being around him was like having a fly buzz in your ear and even if you swat at it it still won't go away. There was one good thing about him though. His only redeeming quality was his eagerness, which was also his worst quality. As said before, annoying.
Eyebags. Not much to say about him. On the same wavelength as Bakugou. But nevertheless, the blonde despises him. However, overall, chill dude.
And then...
Shitty Hair.
Well for starters, like his hair, he was shit for brains too.
Despite saying this, Kirishima wasn't dumb at all. He was probably as smart as the blonde, Bakugou admits. Fit, handsome, charming, the man's a whole package.
He admired the surfer.
But 5ft away in the hot tub of course, cause no homo.
Bakugou finished the last drop of sake from his bottle. Setting it down, he leaned up against the wall to take in everything in front of him.
Denki and Shinsou sucked faces on the tattered couch, music blasting, Sero tp'ing the whole room, flashing colors, Mina crying about how pretty she is, and Kirishima, who like him was enjoying the circus.
The redhead sat across the room, drinking his sake, laughing fondly at his friends. His eyes met Bakugou's through streams of toilet paper and his smile grew.
"Picture?" Kirishima mouthed, his hands doing a camera clicking motion.
Bakugou nodded, finally giving in to Kirishima's persistent request. Taking out his camera, he held it up to his face, then paused, looking through the viewfinder.
He looked at everybody, these idiots, his friends.
Tonight he felt so,
Happy.
People who'd he'd use to call "friends" would either use him or be used. Because of this, Bakugou had given up trying to seek relationships, friendships, or anything in that field now as an adult.
It sickened him and made him feel like complete Mineta-shit.
But right now, he couldn't say that about these people.
Annoying as hell they were. But deep down, Katsuki's frozen heart was slowly starting to thaw little by little by their company.
He took the picture then set the camera in his lap to look at it.
Bakugou smiled.
A certain surfer was the only one looking at the camera. His eyes a deep rose red, practically smiling along with his sparkling grin.
They were in a lighthouse but somehow, he shined brighter.
