She had seen it.
Emily Winchester encountered the being that was tormenting Derry, she had stood feet away from the monster. After that, Emily had not been able to fall back asleep and instead opted to do the very thing she was trying to avoid that night.
She researched, searching through every book in the room, finding any monster that lined up with that shapeshifting clown she saw. But nothing matched.
Emily had even gone as far as considering a hybrid, a demon-shapeshifter hybrid to be exact.
However, demons nor shapeshifters had the ability to teleport as that monster did, so she highly doubted it was a demon-shapeshifter hybrid. No matter how wicked she thought it would be. Emily would love to be able to say she hunted a demon-shapeshifting hybrid for her first hunt by herself, but she figured whatever it was would be good enough.
The problem that came with this monster was the fact that it was obviously much more dangerous than any other creature she had ever hunted. Not to mention, even after having such a close encounter with it, she still had no clue what it was. Therefore, if she told her father any of this, he would immediately drop everything and come help her with this hunt. He would probably even call Bobby to help once she told him it teleported.
In short, Emily telling John would only make him come back to Derry with no arguments from her.
Emily Winchester did not want that. As childish as it sounded, Emily was enjoying her time away from her family. As much as she loved them, Emily was still the only female in a family of only boys. It was nice to be away from them.
That along with the fact that she truly wanted to kill this thing herself.
Sure, after she killed it, her father would no doubt be upset that she did not say anything to him, but he would get over it. Especially if she killed it.
Of course, if things got to the point where Emily knew for a fact she would not be able to handle this thing, then yes, she would either call Bobby or wait for her father to call and to tell him then. However, right now Emily was determined to handle this on her own, and so, she would not tell her father how dangerous this hunt actually was.
Emily had got six hours of sleep last night, not as many as she was planning, but more than she had gotten in weeks. She had been awake since she woke up to that thing last night, scribbling different notes about monsters, reading up on lore, making changes to her chart, all of it leading up to the fact that she was trying to find out what exactly this thing even was.
Emily knew where it was (in the sewers), but she could not just waltz in with her guns blazing and machetes swinging. Because realistically, Emily had no clue how to kill this thing. After shooting it with a silver bullet last night, something which would have killed any normal shapeshifter or werewolf, and seeing that it did not even affect the thing, she knew she was in deep trouble.
She could always try taking its head off, but she was not even sure if that would kill it. The last thing she wanted was to get ahead of herself, charge into the sewers unprepared with the assumption that it would die if she chopped its head off only to find that it could withstand a machete to the neck. That would no doubt only result in her death, therefore that plan was off the table.
Without knowing what this thing was, she had no background information on it its species, nor any known ways to kill it. Emily could also try injecting it with dead man's blood, as that was a substance lethal to vampires, but she doubted that would have any effect on it.
The Winchester girl knew the second she entered the sewers, she had one shot to kill it. It was either kill or be killed, only one of them was coming out alive, she could not afford any mistake.
Currently, Emily was reading a new lore book titled 'The Mysteries of the World' while throwing on clothes to go to the quarry. She did not actually own a swimsuit, so she decided to simply find the worst undergarments she owned to wear, as she did not want to ruin any good ones.
After a few minutes of digging through the drawers, Emily managed to snag a pair of plain black panties with a random leopard themed bra that was now a size too small. Knowing that she was going to be with a bunch of newly teen boys and the ever so hormone driven Richie Tozier, Emily almost chose not to wear that particular bra as because of its smaller size, it left her boobs nearly spilling out. However, once she realized other than this bra, her only other options were bras that actually fit her, she decided being checked out and possibly giving Richie Tozier a boner was better than ruining her other bras.
The thought of going bra shopping with her dad or brother was a bad enough thought to send shivers down her spine.
Letting out a growl of frustration, Emily snapped her lore book closed, understanding that nothing she found was matching up with the thing in Derry. Tossing the book on her rumpled bed sheets, Emily placed her hands on her hips.
She was going to need to visit the library soon, she was running out of lore books.
Running her hands through her hair, Emily glanced at the clock nearly screaming at the time. "Oh, shit!" She howled, seeing as she was already fifteen minutes late.
Quickly, Emily grabbed a random flannel shirt with jeans, putting them on over her undergarments. After lacing up her converse, Emily grabbed her keys to her dirt bike and motel room, racing out the door.
As Emily ran down the halls of the Derry Townhouse, she nearly toppled a number of people, one old man in particular scowling at her.
"Watch where yer' going, kid!" He screeched, shaking a wrinkled fist in the air.
"Sorry, old man!" Emily yelled back, knowing her words were an offense to him.
Once she made it outside, the bright light hit her face causing her pupils the shrink and Emily to narrow her eyes. However, it wasn't enough to stop her from riding her dirt bike like there was no tomorrow, making it to the top of the quarry where she noticed the others bicycles.
She smiled, liking the fact that she could ride her dirt bike in the forest. After turning off the dirt bike, Emily set it on its kickstand, looking around the area trying to figure out where exactly the others could have gone.
"Say it, Tozier!" Emily tilted her head when Eddie's voice drifted from over the edge of the cliff.
"No!"
Curiously, Emily made her way to the edge, peaking down to waters below. A smile perked at the corners of her lips as she took in the sight of the losers all playing and splashing each other in the waters. However, out of all of them, Richie Tozier stuck out to her the most.
Despite the fact that she could not see him so well from all the way up here, she was easily able to see that he had rid himself of his large glasses and was currently having a splash war against Eddie Kasbrak who surprisingly enough, was actually winning.
Suddenly, an unfamiliar tug in Emily's heart pushed her to join them all down there. It was a tug which she rarely felt, the tug that made Emily want to do something other than hunting or hanging out with her family. It was the tug that made her want to be just like any other fifteen-year-old girl, one who had friends outside her brothers.
With a large grin, Emily ripped her flannel off, her jeans and converse following soon after. Now, only clothed in her leopard print bra and black panties, she stood at the edge of the cliff breathing in the fresh air around her.
Green forests were the only thing to surround the quarry, a beautiful picture for anyone who loved nature.
Emily held out her arms, the wind flowing nicely under her arms and in between her body as she allowed the sun to hit her skin.
The warm sun kissed her skin in a serene manner, Emily loving the way the warmth felt against her.
Usually, she did not wear things that showcased too much skin, preferring a more modest approach in clothing than most girls. Emily; however, contained a natural sunkissed glow to her skin, so even though she did not tan much she seemed to always have a natural golden tint to her.
Beverly, who was splashing with Ben down below happened to look up, her eyes immediately catching sight of the serene looking Emily. Biting her lip, Beverly bit back a smile when she realized just how much Emily was no doubt about to drive Richie Tozier crazy with how much skin she was showing.
Beverly slowly floated on her back, Ben stopping in splashing at her as Stanley and Bill teamed up against him, Eddie quickly helping out Ben.
"Emily, c' mon! The water is great!" Beverly yelled from her place in the water causing all the boys to look at the red-head.
The second Richie followed Beverly's gaze, he thought he had gone into cardiac arrest from how beautiful Emily looked. Richie was convinced that a girl such as herself was not possible, how the hell was it even legal to be as gorgeous as Emily Winchester?
Opening her eyes, Emily smiled looking down at the water. In a matter of seconds, the Winchester girl had leaped in the air, her long locks flying behind her as she fell toward the water.
She swore she was flying, she felt absolutely weightless. With her arms spread like an eagle, Emily managed to almost float toward the watery ground, switching her position last second so she hit the water in a diving motion. The splash she made was little, no excess water hitting Beverly or any of the boys.
Emily Winchester did not swim a lot, but when she did, the girl enjoyed it very much. Unlike her brothers who both hated swimming, Emily could swim for hours on end not caring about how wrinkly or how tired she got. In fact, if Emily was not stuck on the road as a hunter with her dad, she probably would be on the school dive team.
Emily allowed herself to stay underwater for a few seconds, listening to the bleary noises of the lake. When Emily finally did reach the surface, she was met with a pair of deep onyx eyes. Emily and Richie were in closer proximity than they had ever been with each other, so close that they were able to see small details on the other's face they had not been able to see before.
For Emily, she was able to see the sprout of freckles littered over his pale nose and cheeks. She also couldn't help but admire the way his eyes looked without his large glasses, or the way his hair would naturally curl at the ends.
On Richie's end, while he was able to see the freckles that danced all over her face (something he would never admit to, but has already noticed from his constant staring), he also saw something within her eyes that had somehow normally skipped his eye. It was something so magnificent in his opinion, that he was not sure how he had ever missed it.
Within the blue irises of Emily were small flakes of green. Of course, she had her ring of green at the edges that she always had, but these tiny flakes were something that Richie knew he could stare at without getting bored.
Richie Tozier had a new favorite color, it was the color of Emily's eyes.
Emily Winchester, as much as she hated to admit it, swore that Richie Tozier was the most beautiful boy she had ever seen. Despite his foul tongue, or his shorter height, or even his younger age, he was the most striking boy she had ever encountered.

'Do not get a boner, no boner, no boner! But, dear god, I want her. Oh, shit, no boner!' Richie was thinking as stared with no shame at the angel that was Emily Winchester.
After hours of chicken fights, splashing, talking, and games, everyone decided to relax on the rocky cliff edge. Emily now laid on her stomach on the rock at the edge of the cliff. She had already tanned her front earlier, and she was now onto getting her back to be the same color.
Her damp hair was sprawled out to the side, her face turned in the direction of Richie, but her eyes were closed. Emily was already sun-kissed, but now she was the pure color of gold with how the sun had hit her lighting up her skin in its path. Her wet fringe clung to her forehead, and her black panties stuck tightly against her ass, something that Richie could not take his eyes off of.
When she was on her back a few minutes prior, Richie's gaze was solely on her chest, or more specifically her breasts which were popping out in the too small bra. This was the scene of Richie's dreams, and all the fourteen-year-old wanted to do was reach out and touch her.
"I want to take you to my bedroom, tie you down on my bed, and make you scream noises that you yourself did not even know you were capable of--" Richie's mumbling was cut off by Stan hitting him.
Beverly was laying on her towel a few feet away from Emily, making it so she was not as close to the edge of the cliff. Emily claimed earlier that the sun was better by the edge, but Beverly was too alarmed by the thought of potentially falling off the edge to join the older girl in that area.
Richie, of course, agreed with Beverly and tried to get Emily to go away from the edge, but the older girl only scoffed and ignored his useless worrying. What was there to say, Emily was a risk taker. Therefore, Richie said he was not only checking out his future wife but also getting ready to catch her in case she started to roll off.
"Dude, she's too old for you!" Stan whispered a shout, Richie only shrugging while fixing his glasses.
"Age is just a number," Richie said it firmly.
All the boys had been looking back and forth between Emily and Beverly, unsure of what to do with themselves. While Bill and Ben kept their gazes focused on Beverly and Richie on Emily, Stan and Eddie found themselves helplessly looking back and forth between the brunette and the red-head.
As Beverly rolled over to face the staring boys and Emily peeked her eyes open, the boys quickly looked away from the two girls. Coughing while looking away, desperately trying to not allow a boner to poke through his underwear, Richie unzipped Ben's backpack which was right beside him.
Emily shook her head at Richie's noisiness, knowing the boy was acting out of pure impulse.
"News flash, Ben, school's out for the summa!" Richie called in a mock British accent, pulling out papers from Ben's bag.
Emily's interest was peaked, walking until she was behind Richie looking at the beige folder holding many different papers in his hands. Emily nearly fell over when she saw just what the papers were.
"What's with the history project?"
Hundreds of different clippings and news articles about Derry, more specifically the missing cases and rates of disappearances. Squatting down, Emily did not realize how heavily she was leaning against Richie, Richie himself having his breath catch in his throat when he felt the lumps of Emily's breast against his body.
He could smell the mint in her breath, feel the tickles of her long cinnamon hair. Oh, how he wanted to turn around and kiss the living daylights out of her.
Emily's mind flew into overdrive at the news articles, different thoughts and theories about the thing weaving through her mind.
"Idiot, idiot, idiot!" Emily wanted to scream at herself, but she refrained as she didn't want these people who were quickly becoming her friends to think her crazy.
Emily cringed at the thought of friends, knowing that she was inevitably going to become closer with them. She hated that, as she knew she was going to need to leave them in a matter of months before the next school year even started. She would not get to walk them around the ninth grade classrooms, tell them about the best teachers and the worst, or the best excuses to not do your homework, because she would be gone. She would be with her brothers and father on the next hunt.
'If that beast in the sewers doesn't kill you.' Emily flinched at the thought, hoping she didn't end up dead.
As she looked to the news articles, Emily wondered why she did not think to look into the articles and history of Derry. Instead, she had been wasting her time looking into lore rather than where the answers truly lied.
In history.
"Oh, well... when I first moved here, I really didn't have anyone to hang out with, so I just started spending time in the library--"
"...You went to the library? On purpose?" Richie questioned as if the idea was appalling.
Richie handed the folder over to Emily who wished she could take it back to her room but knew that it would be incredibly rude to essentially steal Ben's research. No matter how much it could help her.
After looking at it, Emily reluctantly handed it to Bill, making a note to herself to definitely go to the library and check out the history of Derry. Perhaps that would give her a better idea of what she was dealing with, and if not, she would call Bobby and ask if he knew of any shapeshifting teleporters.
Though, the second she said that the guy would probably pass out and demand she get out of Derry until he gets down there.
"I want to see!" Beverly said as she left her spot on the towel, standing beside Bill as he looked through the article.
Richie was still painfully aware of Emily standing so damn close.
Emily was suddenly pulled out of her thoughts a few minutes later by Ben's voice.
"Derry's not like any town I've been in. They did a national study, turns out people die or go missing six times the national average."
"You read that?" Emily asked, her voice breathy as she wondered why no hunter had ever heard about Derry.
Whatever the hell this thing was had obviously been here for a while. Longer than she previously thought.
"That's just the grown-ups," Ben gulped, looking to everyone ominously. "The kids are way... way, way worse." He explained. "I've got some more if you want to see."
"Yes, definitely yes." Emily breathed, her eyes wide with all the new information she had gotten and was potentially about to get.
