29 - the ideal
After the events of the night prior, Todoroki and Bakugou sat on the dorm couch for an interview.
Let's say it wasn't the best. Bakugou's attitude and Todoroki's bluntness weren't meant to mix. Just hearing Bakugou argue over the small fact that Todoroki considered themselves friends sent Y/N in a spiral. Staring dead at the two, Y/N tried her hardest not to laugh, but seeing Iida, Uraraka, and Midoriya, she couldn't it in.
Snickering in her school jacket, she excused herself to laugh. School was going to be amazing after this disaster.
Indeed, it was as Sero and Denki laughed at the interview exclusion of Bakugou. With the interview being announced long, Bakugou's answers weren't used a bit. Y/N couldn't help but let a snicker out at the information. Seeing Bakugou frustrated, Y/N tried cheering him up. "You know Bakugou, if you weren't an ass, you'd be even more popular than already. Your attitude is a mess," Y/N casually said, not really caring for the blonde's outburst toward her.
Sitting on Midoriya's desk, she turned her attention to his phone. On was a report about the incident that happened in Deika City. Listening in on the report, Y/N could only question what caused the villains to target a place like Deika City. Iida and Mineta crowded around Midoriya's desk.
Listening to their talk, Y/N felt awkward, fidgeting on the green haired boy's desk. As Uraraka and Mina talked about the boy who boosted morale with his famous look, Y/N copied the girls in their movement. As both Uraraka and Y/N did the gesture, Midoriya seemed to smile at the happiness the girls showed.
Soon, the class door opened with a voice calling out. "Don't be too optimistic! Things might be moving in a positive direction, but behind that is a sense of urgency from being in danger," Mt. Lady said before speaking once more, "Are the cheers rooting for those certain to win actually prayers for their victory? Heros have become more about showbiz recently, but no people want them to be heroes in the real sense of the world!"
The classes stared shocked she'd be at the school, especially since she wasn't a teacher for UA. Aizawa soon explained that the teachers asked for her to come to the school as a special instructor. "Today will be a media practicum. I, Mt. Lady, active hero, and gorgeous hot commodity will teach you how a hero should behave!" Mt. Lady announced.
Kirishima clenched his fist tight with a big smirk on his lips. "I don't know what we're gonna do, but let's get through this with Plus Ultra, guys!" Kirishima announced to the class. The class agreed, bursting into a small chant.
Y/N smiled even more at the training for the day. Midoriya looked at the unusually large smile on her face. "Y/N, do you know what today will be about?" he asked, getting her attention. "Oh, I think I have an idea of it," Y/N said without another word, leaving Midoriya still confused but ready for the training of the day
Now with the class outside Mt. Lady introduced the training for the day. "...practice for a hero interview!" Mt. Lady announced, standing before the class on the stage. The class looked at the setup a bit intimidated at the added pressure of everyone watching, plus the added cameras going off.
"This seems like it's up Y/N's alley. As an idol, they have to have some kind of media training," Ojiro said, looking at Y/N. The girl in question continued looking at the stage where each student would go up and answer questions. Finally, out of her thoughts, she shook the thought off. "We have training but it's just to not be a fuck up like Bakugou," she remarked causing the male to pinch her side to shut her up.
Getting the red head to be quiet, the class watched as Mt. Lady called for Todoroki to come up to start the training. To know one's surprise, it was a pretty stiff interview causing Y/N to snicker. "He's so slow. It's totally cute," Y/N praised him with a pretty backhanded comment. The rest of the class soon began to slowly go one by one with interviews.
After Bakugou's disastrous interview and outburst, Midoriya followed behind. Y/N, although proud of everyone, couldn't help but find herself on the ground watching the two class rivals be complete opposites in the worst way. Midoriya was soon asked to demonstrate the new extension of his quirk. Watching with the rest of the class, they watched him charge up a puny strip of the black-like tendrils from the days prior.
Completely happy with his own outcome as he had been trying endlessly to release the quirk, Midoriya cheered for his small improvement. Y/N gave him a small thumbs-up, making his heart melt at the small gesture. Though she was just as underwhelmed as the rest of the class, she knew Midoriya did try his hardest, or at least he looked like he tried his hardest.
Bouncing up the stairs, Y/N took her stop on the stage as the last student. "So Lotus, how is like transitioning from idol work to hero work?" Mt. Lady asked. "It hasn't really changed," Y/N responded, catching most off guard. "I don't want to downplay hero work as it's very serious, but idols and all people in music save people just as much as real heroes. It might not be physical but we heal people with even the smallest piece of music. Just hearing strings on a guitar helps people. I think now being more hands-on with saving people is what's different, and for that, I'm very thankful," Y/N said.
"Modesty and being humble are key to a down-to-earth hero. Y/N is the glowing example of an idol hero. Take notes!" Mt. Lady praised the red head, getting her to smile and bow, thanking her for the comment. "I just do what's right because it feels right," Y/N confessed, surprising a few listening, including Midnight, Aizawa, and All Might in the far back.
"Is there anything, any advice you'd give young individuals aspiring to be heroes?" Mt. Lady asked. Y/N thought about it, a finger on her chin getting a cute reaction out of the others and Mt. Lady herself.
"I'd definitely say to go for it. Take care of yourself, your body, your mind, and your soul before going out to save others. The way you hold yourself up is how others will, too. To be the best, you should feel yourself. So go beyond, Plus Ultra!" Y/N responded, pumping her fist up after her words. The class let out their own Plus Ultra before clapping to their classmate.
As the 24th finally rolled around, Y/N couldn't help but bounce around, having to be held down by her thigh by Midoriya. Finally, the class cheered, collecting, saying Merry Christmas. Y/N smiled still giddy to be celebrating the holiday with her classmates. She even got a hold of her girls, and they wished the class a Merry Christmas. The night was filled with joy, and it only heightened as a knock on the dorm door flew through Y/N's ears.
Seeing Eri there, Y/N immediately brought her into her embrace, spinning her around into the dorms. The others from the rescue team to save Eri came over to see the little girl, happy to see her. Eri seemed to cling to Y/N, though, not leaving her side once in the night. Y/N didn't seem to mind, nor did anyone else. They liked seeing Y/N with Eri. She made her happy, and that's all they wanted for the red head. The night was still young, after all.
