in which the older henderson sibling finds herself hating steve harrington a little less
ย ย ALEXANDRA HENDERSON HAD absolutely no fucking clue what to do. I mean, what? She was a boring human girl running around after her younger brother and his annoying friends, fighting shit like demodogs, I mean, what the fuck is a demodog? Also, what the fuck was a shadow monster wait, no, a mind flayer?
Dustin had explained it all to his sister very quickly and she still didn't understand . . . but she simply went along with it. She ignored the complexity of it, merely just helping fight the ugly, alien looking things and trying not to die. But then Steve Harrington somehow got dragged into it all and that's when Alexandra knew that she wanted to die, I mean, 'King Steve', really?
Dear God it was all simply going tits up, wasn't it? Alexandra didn't like Steve full stop. She thought he was a liar and a bad friend. And it was true, he had been a liar and a bad friendโboth to Alexandra herself.
ย ย Long before Tommy H and Carol strolled into his life, he had Alexandra. There was three of them in their little group, Steve, Alexandra and Juno. Ah, Juno Cooper, Alexandra's best friend. She moved to Pittsburgh back in '79, and Alexandra nor Steve had seen her since. They still talked, of course, well . . . Alexandra and Juno did. But Juno's a story for another day, back to Alexandra and Steve.
ย ย Like I was saying, there was three of them. Thick as thieves, and even with Juno gone Alexandra and Steve remained close. Until Tommy H and Carol ( cue eyeroll ), Tommy H and Carol, in Alexandra's opinion, were the most annoying people to ever walk the earth, and yes that's including Nancy Wheeler.
ย ย Tommy and Carol had lured Steve into their trap and ripped him right from Alexandra's grasp. When he started hanging with them more and Alexandra less she figured out he had lied to her, every single damn time. Which she didn't understand why he did, what was she gonna do if she found out he was hanging out with other people? Cry? Oh, boo-hoo. When she wasn't with Steve she was with Deena, so what was so sketchy about him hanging around others?
ย ย Maybe that's what hurt her, the lying. Or maybe it was the fact that she knew him so well, the moment he opened his mouth she knew he was lying, but when she dismissed his half-assed apologies, telling him that it was 'fine', he believed her. Guess he didn't know her as well as she thought.
ย ย Oh, well. Like I said, she wasn't gonna sit and cry about it. She did anything but cry to be honest, the longer time went on, and the more Steve drifted off into the world without her . . . she came to resent him for it.
ย ย But enough of Steve 'The Hair' Harrington. Alexandra had bigger problems, problems like what if those ugly, plant looking alien things came back?
ย ย ย She'd be screwed, but it's whatever.
ย ย It's all a bit of fun and games, well . . . it is until your past creeps up behind you and snatches you in its grasp.
