THE RELAM HAD BEEN DELIGHTED WHEN THE NEWS THAT PRINCESS RHAENYRA TARGARYEN AND LAENOR VELARYON WERE EXPECTING THEIR FIRST CHILD HAD BEEN ANNOUNCED.

A new babe to be of both Targaryen and Velaryon blood was an exciting time for both the realm and the royal families, but only Rhaenyra and Laenor knew the truth about their forthcoming child.

Jaessa Velaryon came into the world quiet and as healthy as a horse. The quietness from the babe had scared Rhaenyra at first, but she quickly realized her daughter was observing the world around her fresh out of the womb. It took a mere seconds to Rhaenyra to fell love for the newborn babe in her arms — the princess had taken one look into Jaessa's dark brown eyes and knew she would protect her daughter no matter what.

As Jaessa Velaryon grew it became obvious that she was not part Velaryon — her hair too dark, her eyes too brown, everything wrong with her. Whispers quickly went through the realm that Rhaenyra Targaryen's daughter was a bastard, though no one dare say it to the princess' face or her King father's.

The whispers only grew the longer her dragon egg did not hatch, but it was on her second name day that the gray egg finally hatched and the whispers of Jaessa Velaryon being bastard born simmered — for surely a bastard born Targaryen could not be a dragon rider.

The more Jaessa grew the more she became a spitting image of her mother — in personality that was. Jaessa could care less about her studies that her Septa tried to teach her and more about riding her dragon, Daytir — the fierce.

When her mother grew pregnant again the realm was once again delighted, hopes of this child looking more Velaryon were on everyone's minds — especially Queen Alicent's. It was ill-mannered when Jaessa came out looking more like Ser Harwin Strong than Laenor, but it was just outright disrespectful when the Princess' second child was born. Once again the babe had dark eyes and dark hair.

Jaessa was a smart child and she soon put together that Laenor Velaryon was not her or her brother's real father, but he acted as such and treated them as such so the young girl never questioned her mother. However, the whispers once again began that Princess Rhaenyra had once again given birth to a bastard and Queen Alicent was at the head of the whispers — her and her sons.

While her uncle Aegon liked to use her brother's company as a way to taunt his younger brother, Jaessa had forged a bond with Aemond Targaryen. She protected her younger uncle from the taunts of his brother and hers. The bond between the Velaryon girl and Targaryen boy was one that could not be broken — until the dance of the dragons began and their love for one another would be tested.

Jaessa should be sent on a royal tour like her mother was, trying to find a suitable husband. I originally planned on her meeting a Tarly his fc would be Barry Keoghan. You can choose if you want to keep that fc/ and plot line. I do have some graphics I made for this story you can use if you'd like just ask me for them.

There sound be a lot of angst between Aemond and Jaessa once they meet again after what happens at Driftmark.
