"French Revolution."

"I can't believe you just said that to Mr. Anderson, what goes on through your head?" She asks slightly impressed
"Everything." I responded
"I like you new girl, I'm Jae and this is my friend Dylan, you should totally hang with us after school."
"To do what?" I eyed her
"Smoke, chill, break the rules-
"Break the rules?"
"Hell yea, Me and Dylan like to spray paint the school's bathroom and the walls just for fun." She said looking at another student paper continuously.
"Copying it down I see."
"Hell yea, I'm not doing this shit." She said
"He's just going to notice isn't he."
"And I'll just say that he copied me." She smirked
"Evil." I mumbled
"Kali." The teacher called
I turned my attention the handsome teacher who was staring at me from his desk.
"Pick up your pencil." He demanded
I looked at him confusingly doing what I was told.
"Start writing." He demanded
I scoffed in my seat, I heard chuckles coming from Jae herself.
"Jae."
"Yes-
"Shut up." I said
Mr. Anderson stood up from his desk slamming his fist down to get Kali and Jae's attention. "If you talk again I'll fail both of you." his voice sounding harsh.
"But-
Mr.Anderson ran his hand through his black hair while sighing. "Kali come here,"
"And bring your work."
I look at Jae who had her head down trying to hold her laughs, she wasn't slick. I grabbed my items and headed towards his desk.
He pulled up a chair close to him but not too close- leaving us some space. "Do your work here."
"I didn't even do anything."
"You didn't do anything? Hm? You was just talking disrupting my class." his jaw clenches
"Now pick up your pencil and start." He demanded
He was treating me like I was a child in fourth grade all over again- sitting in front of the classroom to do my work. What type of shit was this.
At this point-it had to be a race thing.
I sat there doing nothing, not listening to him, I didn't even pick up my pencil at all. I didn't like being told what to do especially if it's from someone showing aggression.
Mr. Anderson pinched the bridge of his nose as he sighed in irritation. "Do you act like this at home? do you must act like a child?"
"Aren't you nineteen
correct?"
"Yes-
"Then act like it!" his voice causing a disruption to everyone.
"Who are you? My father?"
He chuckled shaking his head, "Pick up your pencil, I'm not going to ask you again."
I hesitated for a second but I did what I was told, picking it up. I opened the book and began to look through the words about the French Revolution.
He averted his eyes to his computer sighing.

I was finally done with my essay, as well as the class. Throughout the process of my writing, I was getting glares from Mr. Anderson. He definitely hated my guts and I hated him as well.
Mr. Anderson stood up from his seat walking to the front of the class.
"Who wants to say their essay first?" he crosses his arms as he perches his ass on the edge of the desk.
Students were raising their hands up excitedly.
But me.
I continued to write down my final touches about my essay. But then I end up seeing Mr. Anderson's eyes on me.
"Kali Torres."
"What?"
"I'll try again."
"Kali Torres." He called
I scoffed with annoyance knowing that he wanted me to reply with 'yes' instead of what.
"Yes?"
"Stand up."
"I didn't raise my hand."
"That's the point." he turned his attention back to the class with his arms still folded.
Oh my goodness..
I stood up with my papers in my hands, I headed over to the front near Mr. Anderson. I stared at the class nervously knowing that I wasn't a big person to speak for a big crowd.
I heard students laughing at me as I stood there awkwardly, their eyes weren't even on me though.
"Fix your skirt." Mr. Anderson whispered from behind my ear
His response made me spooked, I hurried and looked at my skirt which was folded up, I hurried and fixed them back down turning my attention back to the class.
These dumbass uniforms embarrassed me.
I stared in silence.
"Anytime now," he said
Oh shut up.
"The revolution became known for its brutality and violence, with the French people overthrowing their monarchy and establishing a republic led by the "Committee of Public Safety" and its leader Robespierre.
"This was an important turning point in French history, as it was the birth of a new democratic regime that would later be followed by the French revolution of 1848. The impact of these events on world history is undeniable, as the French Revolution set a precedent for political change."
The class clapped up for me, "Dylan your up next."

I was back in my seat still listening to these other students saying their essay just as the bell rings.
"Turn in your essays to me before you leave out my classroom." He headed back to his seat behind his desk.
So dominant, so demanding.
I grabbed my book bag clutching it over my shoulder heading to the door.
"Kali Torres."
I closed my eyes sighing,
"What?" I said with attitude
He chuckled shaking his head, waving his fingers for me to come here.
I head over to him standing across from him, his legs cross over one another as he pinches the bridge of his nose again.
"Who are you talking to?" He glares
"Mr. Anderso-
"Who are you speaking to with such attitude, hm?"
"I am your teacher I could fail you in seconds, if you disrupt my class continuously again you will get a E."
"Now your essay." He held his hand out waiting for it
I sighed as I was handling him my paper.
As he tried to grab my paper I didn't let it go, he glares at my eyes. "One more thing Mr. Anderson."
"Hm?"
"I was talking to you." I finally let go, walking off clearly annoyed.
You know what's funny? Jae was right, this was hell.
My hell.
