Chp 31 A fearsome vow
Sarahs pov
"How could they do this to me knowing i love him they want me to get married to Zain, I don't even like him I..I can't do this Sarah" .. she says tears streaming down her face.
"I'm so sorry, Uzma. I can't believe they would do this to you, especially knowing how much you love Umar. And getting married to someone you don't even like? That's not fair," I replied, feeling angry on her behalf.
"We'll figure something out, don't worry," I assured her, rubbing her back gently.
As we sat there, I could see that Uzma was getting weaker by the minute. Meanwhile, Jake was trying to call Umar to see why he was late and where he was. I knew that time was running out, and we needed to come up with a plan fast.
"Uzma, we need to think of something quickly. Do you have any ideas?" I asked her, hoping that she had some kind of plan. But she just shook her head, tears still streaming down her face.
I took a deep breath and tried to think of something, anything, that could help. But my mind was blank. We were running out of time, and I didn't know what to do.
"Umm I umm .. my house is empty I mean my parents are out so do you want us to take her there , we'll contact umar and tell him to come there directly" Jake replied..
"That's a good idea, Jake. We can take Uzma to your house and contact Umar to come there directly. Let's do that," I replied, feeling relieved that we had a plan.
I helped Uzma stand up, and we slowly made our way to Jake's car. I could see that she was barely holding on, and my heart ached for her.
Once we got to Jakes house, we made her comfortable on the couch and tried to make her relax. We contacted Umar and told him to come there directly.
As we waited for Umar, I could see that Uzma was still upset and scared. I sat next to her and held her hand, trying to comfort her.
"Don't worry, Uzma. We're here for you, and we'll figure this out together," I said, trying to give her some hope.
Finally, Umar arrived, and we all sat down to talk. We discussed everything, and Uzma finally told Umar how she felt. Umar was shocked and hurt, but he understood.
In the end, they decided to take some time apart and figure out what they wanted. It wasn't a perfect solution, but it was a start. And I knew that we would be there for them no matter what.
"I hope they find a solution soon" I say , rubbing my hands out of anxiety.
"They'll be fine" he say's taking my hand in his.
Though the situation was soo tensed I still felt butterflies.
Umar said " We will do nikah, secretly. We won't tell anyone until the time comes. Eventually, her father won't get her married to Zain when we both will already be married," he looks at Uzma with a reassuring smile.
I could see that Uzma was still unsure, but she nodded her head in agreement. I knew that this was a risky plan, but it was the best option we had.
"Are you sure about this, Uzma? It's a big step, and we don't want to rush into anything," I said, looking at her intently.
Uzma took a deep breath and looked at me. "I'm sure. I love Umar, and I can't imagine marrying anyone else. We'll make it work," she said, determination in her voice.
I smiled at her, feeling proud of her bravery. "Okay, then. Let's do this. We'll help you every step of the way," I said, feeling hopeful for the first time in a while.
And with that, we all hugged each other, feeling a renewed sense of hope and determination. We had a plan, and we were ready to fight for Uzma and Umar's love.
I was in the middle of a conversation with them when my phone started buzzing. It was mumma , and she sounded worried. "Where are you? The run took you too long," she asked. I quickly thought of an excuse, "I met Uzma, so I'm with her. I'll be home in an hour, you all eat," I replied, hoping she would believe me.
My mother insisted that we have lunch together, but I had other plans.
"We should get it done now," Umar suggested, trying to sound casual. I was pretty shocked but then Jake suddenly blurted out, "I'll take Umar with me." I knew it was a secret nikah, but I couldn't help feeling nervous.
Every girl wants to look perfect when marrying the love of her life. So, Uzma and I quickly went to a store and picked out a nice white dress that wasn't too flashy. It looked perfect on her. We came back to Jake's house, and I helped her get ready. I gave her a good touch-up and took her to the mosque, which was very far away from where we lived. Of course, we didn't want to be caught.
As we waited for Jake to arrive with Umar, I noticed that Uzma was becoming impatient and worried. She was rubbing her hands together nervously.
We were about to go inside the mosque, it suddenly dawned upon us that Jake could not enter. Poor guy had to stand out until the nikah began. It was a bit of a downer, but we had to make do with the situation.
When we finally went inside the mosque, the shaikh was a little hesitant to do the nikah as we were alone. We didn't have any elder with us to give their blessings. But Uzma and Umar were determined to go through with it.
I kept praying inside, asking Allah to help them as they were not doing anything haram. It was a beautiful moment when they exchanged vows. I could see the love in Uzma's eyes, and I knew that they were meant to be together.
After the ceremony, we all went back to Jake's house. Uzma and Umar cut the cake together which Jake had already bought . It was a beautiful day, and I was glad that I got to be a part of it.
As Jake looked at me with his eyes sparkling, he said, "I wish we had a bond like Uzma and Umar." His words made me blush, and I couldn't help but feel a little flattered.
But I knew that building a strong relationship takes time and effort. It's not just about being close, but about being there for each other through thick and thin. Uzma and Umar have been through a lot together, and that's what makes their bond so special.
I looked at Jake and smiled. "We'll get there," I said. "We just need to keep working on the relationship and building it up over time." He smiled back at me, and I knew that we were on the right track.
I bid farewell to them, Jake offered to drive me home, and I gladly accepted. I appreciated his concern for my safety and privacy.
As we drove, Jake had a sheepish smile on his face. Suddenly, he asked, "Soo... do you want to go on a real date with me?" I could see his cheeks turn red as he waited for my response.
"Umm Jake, you know I can't," I said, feeling a little embarrassed.
But Jake wasn't willing to give up that easily. He pulled the car over to the side of the road and turned to face me. "What are you doing?" I asked, confused.
"I'm not taking you home until you agree to go on a date with me," he said, his eyes glinting with determination. I couldn't help but feel a little flustered by his persistence.
I took a deep breath and looked at him. "Jake, I appreciate your interest, but I don't think it's a good idea," I said, trying to let him down gently.
"Why not?" he asked, his voice tinged with disappointment.
"Because... well, for one thing, I don't want to ruin our friendship," I said, feeling a little guilty for him. "And besides, I don't think it's a good idea"
Jake looked at me for a moment, then let out a sigh. "I understand," he said, his voice low. "I just had to ask."
I could see the disappointment in his eyes, and I felt a pang of guilt. I didn't want to hurt him, but I knew that going on a date with him wasn't the right decision.
As he started the car again and drove me home, I couldn't help but wonder if I had made the right choice.
I kept feeling uneasy, and I knew deep down that I also have feelings him. So out of nowhere, I blurted out, "Alright, I'll go out with you" The suddenness of my answer made Jake hit the brakes, and we both jerked forward. 'Damnnn, Jakeee,' I exclaimed loudly.
'Ok, promise me,"he said, smiling and holding his hand out like a kid.
"Okk, promise I'll go on a date with you" I said, feeling a little nervous but also excited.
"See, that was soo easy, isn't it?" he said, grinning from ear to ear. He started the car again, and we drove off.
As we drove, I couldn't help but feel a little giddy. I had never been on a date before, and I didn't know what to expect. But I was excited to spend some one-on-one time with Jake and get to know him better.
We arrived at the restaurant, and Jake held the door open for me. I felt a little shy as I walked in, but Jake put me at ease with his easygoing charm. We sat down at a table, and Jake ordered for us both.
As we ate, we talked about everything under the sun. Jake was funny and charming, and I found myself laughing at his jokes. I was surprised at how easy it was to talk to him, and I felt like I could tell him anything.
After the food, we went for a walk in the park and it was almost night. The moon was full, and the stars were out. It was a beautiful night, and I felt like I was in a dream. Jake held my hand, and I felt safe and secure though I knew it's not right but I couldn't let go of his hand.
As we walked, Jake suddenly stopped and turned to face me. "I know this might sound cheesy, but I have to say it," he said. 'I've been waiting for this moment for a long time. I've liked you for so long, and I'm so happy that you gave me a chance."
I looked at him, and I felt my heart swell. "I'm happy too," I said, feeling a little shy.
He took my hand and kissed the back of it, and I felt fireworks explode in my heart. It was a magical moment, and I knew that I had made the right choice.
