A part of you felt nervous as you waited for Suna to come pick you up from your apartment. This is the first time you'd be hanging out with him in weeks, and you know that all of the fighting you guys did would cause awkward tension. It was funny how easily he could make you forgive him-not that you fully forgave him just yet, but you forgave him enough. There was always that thought in the back of your head, the voice telling you that he could be a father of someone else's child. Not yours.
Of course you weren't ready for kids yet, you and Suna were still young and living life, but his carelessness caused him to be in this situation and he knows it. You can see the guilt in his eyes every time he looks at you, and you know he's sorry, but no amount of apologies would ever make you forgive him if that baby is his. And that's why you have to tell him that not everything is okay right now, there's still some boundaries that you two need to go over. You just hope that it doesn't cause an argument.
As you finished packing your bag for the night, you heard Suna's beep his car horn, the only person who would do that instead of calling or texting you. Rolling your eyes, you shut off your light and carried your bag in your hand as you walked towards your front door. Quickly slipping on your shoes, you opened your front door to see Suna's leaning against the car, grey sweats on with the sweater to match. His hood was over his head as he waited for you, looking at you from afar.
Turning around to lock your door, you twisted the key until you heard the 'click' sound. The smile on your face couldn't be stopped as you made your way towards Suna, seeing a small smirk on his face. You hated how much of a grip he had on you, like a school girl with a crush. Suna held his arms out before enveloping you into a bear hug, squeezing you tightly but gently at the same time. "Hi, pretty." He kissed the top of your head as you hugged him back, feeling how warm he was compared to the crisp night air.
His cologne was the first thing you smelled, the scent wafting into your nose as it was carried by the wind. "Hi!" You smiled up at him, eyes glistening under the moonlight. "You ready to go? Got everything?" He questioned, taking your bag from your hand. Nodding your head, you watched as he put your bag in the backseat of the car. "Alright then, let's go!" He chuckled, unable to contain his excitement.
Suna would be lying if he said his heart wasn't beating a million miles per hour right now. Just talking to you over the phone, hearing your voice, that was enough to get him nervous about you staying over. He was certain the nerves would go away as he driving to pick you up, but he was wrong. Seeing you walk out that door, he couldn't get over how pretty you looked, even if you were in sweats, a baggy shirt, and a sweater. Anything you wear looks good on you, Suna was sure of it.
The car was silent as Suna drove to his house, and he couldn't help but feel like you were scared to speak to him. He would glance over at you from time to time, but your eyes never once met his. They were glued to the window, watching the building and cars that passed by on the street. "Hey, you alright?" Suna placed his hand on your thigh, the pad of his thumb caressing it, hoping it would ease your nerves. You looked at him, "yeah, I just...I wanna talk to you when we get back to the house." You reminded him, your head resting in the palm of your hand.
Suna nodded his head in agreement, "I know. I promise we will. I just don't want you to feel uncomfortable. I know we haven't been on the best of terms, but I genuinely just want to spend time with you tonight and tomorrow before you leave me again." Suna slightly pouted, the thought of your time together coming to an end. He's so used to you staying at his house, living there. Everything of yours was always around the house. It made it feel more like a home.
"Rin, we're spending two days together! Stop thinking about me leaving!" You laughed, shaking your head at him as he focused on the road. "How can I not? I'm already missing you." He frowned, batting his eyelashes at you. "You're so corny!" You playfully push him by his shoulder, rolling your eyes at him. He laughs along with you, his free hand grabbing yours and intertwining your fingers as he placed a kiss on top of your hand. "Only for you." He whispered.
Suna turned on his street, slowing down the car until he was in front of the house. "It feels weird being back here." You let those words slip out as you looked at the house. "You know this place is yours too, right?" Suna took his key out of the ignition as he watched you stare out the window. "I don't pay for anything, so it's not." You chuckle, looking back at him. "What's mine is yours. Always been that way."
"You're sappy." You giggle, unbuckling your seatbelt as you reached for your bag in the back. Suna's jaw dropped, an offended look on his face, "I'm trying to be romantic!" He called out to you as you stepped out the car, ignoring him. Suna quickly followed after you, keys in his hand while he walked up to the door. "So, what is it you wanna talk about?" Suna asked, turning the doorknob to let you inside. The warm embrace of the house welcomed you, a contrast to the freezing cold outside.
He shut the door, locking it before taking his shoes off as you did. "Well," you started off, "I wanted to talk about you and Faye. More specifically the baby situation." You cleared your throat, standing in front of Suna. He felt his heart drop at your words. Didn't you guys talk it out the night you came here? He wasn't going to try and argue with you. He didn't want to. If anything, Suna wanted to respect you, he just didn't want to lose you. "Okay, well let's bring your stuff to the room." He smiled at you.
With a nod, you walked down the hallway towards his bedroom. Not one thing has changing since you've been here, you didn't really expect it to but it was just a thought you had. With a sigh, you placed your bag down in the corner of the room, sittin down on the edge of the bed. Suna unzipped his sweater, shrugging it off to reveal and skin tight black shirt under. "Tell me how you feel." He spoke aloud, breaking the silence.
You had to be blunt and tell him the truth. The decision was finalized in your head and your heart and you needed to let him know. He sat down beside you as you fiddled with your fingers, nervously picking at them as you tried to find a way to distract yourself. Suna took notice of your actions, the slightly frown on your face and the lack of eye contact, he knew you were afraid to speak your mind in fear of hurting him.
"Hey, baby?" He rubbed your back. Turning your head slowly, you looked at him, "I just...I don't want to say this to you because I don't want it to become a reality. I love you, Rin. You know I do." A shaky breath left your lips as you finished talking. "I love you too. But whatever it is you have to say, I know it's the truth I need to hear-a reality check." He continued to rub your back. With a nod, you clenched your eyes shut. Why was this so hard?
"If...if the baby is yours," you opened your eyes to look into his, "I don't want anything to do with you. Nothing. I wouldn't be able to handle that-knowing you got someone else pregnant while I was hurting. I can't," you shook your head, "do that to myself. You know I love you. You know I want us to work out. But I am giving you until the paternity test can be done to see if things changed. We aren't back together just yet, but I want us to show each other that there's still a chance." You blinked at him before looking back down at your lap.
Suna's had stopped rubbing your back a long time ago. He was in slight shock. But you had a fair point. If he was in your situation, he wouldn't be able to handle you having someone else's child. He would lose his shit if he found out. But the fact you're willing to try with him and him time, he appreciates you so much. He doesn't understand why you give him so many chances, so many opportunities to love you again when he feels like he doesn't even deserve it. You were so special, so generous with him even after everything.
"Don't feel bad. I needed to hear that, to know that you weren't just gonna sit here and take my bullshit over and over," Suna hooked his finger under your chin to make you look at him. "If the baby is mine, we'll end our relationship. Together. I don't want you feeling like you're at fault for leaving me. Okay?" He eyes searched yours. "Okay," you barely spoke above a whisper, nodding your head at him.
"And I'm sorry about Hiro," You added. "What I did that night was wrong. I saw chance to get back at you for what you did and I took it when I never should've. I was so hurt and I thought hurting you more would make me feel better, but it only made me feel worse. And now he's talking shit. I should've know he didn't change. I'm sorry, Rin," Your eyes flickered back down to your lap, feeling the same and guilt washing over you. "What was he saying about me to you?"
Suna shook his head, kissing the top of your head, "don't worry what he was saying, I don't want to upset you any more than you already are," He sighed. "Just know that I handled it. His bitch ass is just mad because he can't have you anymore." Suna chuckled. "Did you...fight him?" You asked, knowing how usual it was for a fight to break out between them. "I did, but he didn't lay a finger on me." Suna informed you.
You gasped, looking at him with wide eyes, "you could've gotten fired! Why would you do that?!" You asked in disbelief. "Because when it comes to you, I'm not gonna have anyone talk shit. You know that. I'd go to jail for you if I had to."
"Alright, now you're pushing it!" You laughed, pushing him off of you. "What? You don't think I will?!" He laughed. Shaking your head, you laid back on his bed, "you're crazy." As you got comfortable, Suna crawled on the bed beside you, laying down his spot. "I love you." He wrapped his arm around your waist, pulling you in closer to him. As a reflex, you threw your leg over his. "I love you too," You smiled, playing with the strands of his hair. "Your hair is getting longer."
Suna sighed, "I know, I need to cut it." You shook your head no, still playing with it. "It looks good on you, especially when it grows a bit more. I like it." You smiled. "Oh yeah?" He smirked, poking at your sides. "Yes! Stop that!" You grabbed his wrist, trying to pull him off of you. "No." He pecked your lips, still trying to poke you.
"Rin!" You warned, glaring at him. "Okay, okay, I'll stop." He laughed before pulling you closer, placing his lips on yours. The two of you kissed, slowly moving at the same pace. Suna gripped your waist tightly, deepening the kiss. He wants to enjoy this with you while he can, while he has the time. If that baby is his, he'll no longer be able to do this with you, hold you, feel you, kiss you. He wants to bask in your embrace while he still has a chance. He's yours. Even if you don't feel like he is, Suna is always yours.
