Light peaked through the curtain in the bedroom. The air was warm and the soft hum of the central air unit filled your ears. The room was quiet. The entire house was quiet. The soft fabric of the comforter rubbed against your legs as you stirred awake, groaning in the process. Your eyes were so heavy you didn't feel like opening them. "Morning, Rin." You mumbled, letting out a big stretch as you clenched your eyes shut.
Silence. You rubbed your eyes before finally opening them, only to be met with an empty bed, your boyfriend nowhere to be found. Your brows furrowed at his absence in which caused you to get up. Stumbling over your own feet as you got out of the bed, you called for Suna as you walked out the bedroom. The cold hardwood on your bare feet made you wince, shivers sending up your spine as you hugged yourself to warm up.
"Rin!" You shouted, walking towards the bathroom, opening it to find it dark and empty. Maybe he had to go to work? Shaking your head, your body was barely ready to get out of bed, mind still foggy and eyes still heavy. You wouldn't be surprised if you fell asleep again. Crawling back into the warm bed, you wrapped the blanket around you, hugging it close to your body as you grabbed your phone off of the nightstand.
2 messages from Rin
You quickly unlocked your phone, clicking on the message notifications from your boyfriend.
Had to go into work early didn't wanna wake you
I love you <3
You smiled at the little message, typing back an 'I love you too' before you rolled back over and moved towards his side of the bed, grabbing his pillow and laying your head on it. It smelled like him. His cologne and natural scent mixed together on the fabric of the pillowcase. You closed your eyes, ready to fall back asleep before there was a knock on the front door.
Eyes popping open, you rolled them and let out a frustrated sigh. Whoever was on the other side of the door knocked again, causing you to let out a scream of frustration into the pillow. "Hold on!" You yelled, snatching the blanket off of the bed and wrapping it around your body as you waddled to the front door. Quickly unlocking it, you met face to face with none other than Aran.
There was a moment of shock and awkwardness as you both stared at each other. Both of you expecting someone else. "Hey." He cleared his throat. Your eyes narrowed, remembering the fight between him and Suna after Aran called you a bitch. "Suna isn't here." You quickly dismissed his greeting, getting straight to the point before he had time to make small talk. "Know when he'll be back?" Aran was fiddling with his hands.
You peaked your head further out the door, looking at Aran's car in the driveway. You took in a deep breath as you saw a familiar face, Eliza. You were surprised they were still together with the way she acts. "Don't know." You shifted your gaze back to Aran, blinking at him. Aran nodded his head, avoiding eye contact with you before he opened his mouth again, "well can you just tell him something when he gets back?" Aran asked.
"Why don't you just call him?" Your brows furrowed. Aran let out a breathy chuckle, "he blocked me months ago." He looked at you. Aran recalled the morning in school. The argument and fight they had. The words that came out of his mouth were disgusting of him to say. There's no excuse on his end. He feels like shit for treating his best friend and his best friends girlfriend like shit. Aran doesn't even think him and Suna are friends anymore.
"I just want to apologize to him," Aran quickly spoke. "And I wanna apologize to you as well. Calling you a bitch was way out of line." Aran clenched his jaw. "You don't say." You raised your brows, speaking in a sarcastic manner. "I'm being serious, y/n. I'm sorry for causing a fight. I'm sorry for calling you a bitch. I fucked everything up." Aran's expression was sincere as he stared at you.
"What do you mean you fucked everything up?" You questioned. Aran leaned against the doorway, looking down at his feet like he was hesitating to answer the question. Little did you and Suna know that the entire friend group had broken up after the fight. "The group broke up. No one talk to one another anymore. I said some shit behind Suna's back to the others after the fight." Aran spoke quietly, ashamed to even bring this situation up. "What did you say?" You grew concerned.
"It wasn't just Suna I talked shit about. I said some shit to everyone's faces. I don't even wanna say it," Aran shook his head. "Just know that after that fight, everyone was on edge and I pushed everyone off of it. I apologized to everyone except you and Suna." Aran explained. You bit the inside of your cheek, still having one question on your mind. Why?
"Why'd you do it? Was it really because of what happened with the dancer at that party or was it because of something else?" You asked. You were genuinely curious. Out of everyone in the group, Aran was the one that blew up that day. Why? "Maybe cause a part of me was jealous that Suna actually got you. Yes we were talking about the party before that but I just kinda lost it when I saw you step in to help him." Aran finally gave you the answer you've been looking for.
"Aran," you scoffed, "you were talking to Eliza while talking to me. You made me look like an idiot at that party when you invited Eliza. And didn't make it any better when she walked in after we kissed!" You explained to him, slightly raising your voice. "Be honest with me, would have ever chose me over Suna?" Aran questioned. You looked at him in shock, "what?!"
"Be honest. Were you really feeling what we had when we were talking? Or was it just to get Suna jealous?" Aran leaned in closer to you. "Aran, I'm not answering that." You shook your head at him. "I wanna know the truth." Aran argued. You looked at him, a few seconds of silence before opening your mouth, "aran, you were sweet, attractive and funny. Yes. But choosing you over Suna? You never gave me enough time to decide. Remember, you fucked up that night when you were two timing me and Eliza." You placed your hand on his chest and slightly pushed him away from you.
This conversation took an unexpected turn in your book. Never did you think that situation would be brought up again. Especially since it seems so pointless, but clearly it isn't to some. "I really liked you, y/n. That day I saw you sitting in the hallway by the lockers, I liked you." Aran explained. "Aran, please, not now. Me and Suna have been together for months now! There is no point in bringing this up. Me and him are happy and I'm sure you and Eliza are doing just fine! I thought you came her to apologize!" You held the bridge of your nose.
"You asked why. And I gave you why," Aran stood there in silence for a few. "Just tell Suna I want to apologize to him and to unblock me." Aran turned his back towards you, walking down the steps of the house towards his car. You let out a sigh, shutting and locking the door. Not being able to comprehend what just happened, you just stood in the entryway of the house for a while, basking in the silence.
