"I don't know if I should say Henry is rude. He sounded nice for the first part of this chapter and rude towards the end. I think I'll wait a few chapter to judge his personality. I like how you don't go all in with the characters."

"Madam, your change no complete." The way my blood was boiling, I could carry stone and throw it at this bike man.
"No be from Kenny's store to my house?!" I snapped at the hideous bike man whose face was hidden with his full helmet. "All this Okada men. Because yahoo boys don dey climb una bike anyhow dey give una big money you think say you fit open mouth waaah, call out price. Oga take your seventy naira joor!"
"Madam I no cheat you," Said the bike man. "Na the price be that. Your money na hundred naira."
"Because say na today I come Lagos." I threw the fifty and twenty naira note at the bike man, then turned to leave. He mumbled some words in Yoruba, but that was his business. He should come and fight me.
Getting to the compound, the first person I unfortunately laid my eyes upon was ancient of days. She was chatting with Sandra, another aproko in the compound. I just couldn't wait for God to bless me so I'd relocate. I walked passed Mary and Sandra and the next thing I knew, they began gossiping about me.
Finally getting to my room, I opened and closed the door angrily behind me. Christy whom was smiling brightly, deemed when she saw my current state.
"What's wrong?" She questioned, as I pulled off my sandals.
"Abeg, take your iPhone!" I flung her phone on the bed, close to where she laid. "See eh, I don't want to see you talk about Henry again. I don't want you to show me his pictures on your phone unless I will delete it. Heartthrob my ass. Ugly gorilla."
I kept ranting, then held my weave on angrily. "Imagine that stupid boy o. I saw him at Kenny'sβ"
"You saw Henry?!" I rolled my eyes. God, bring back Michael Jackson and take my roommate. "You saw the Henry Williams? My future husband?!"
"Future husband kill you there," I gave Christy the waka sign. "That rude proud somebody. Saw him today and ask if he could take a picture with me because my roommate is a huge fan. I even flaunt your phone so he won't look down on me. The mumu said he wasn't in the mood."
"Aha," Christy stood on the bed. She had on an orange crop top and white crazy Jean shorts. "He's a star, he must have been tired."
"Star ko, moon ni. Will you stop defending him jare?!" I sat on the bed so I could operate on my phone which was currently charging. "All those celebrities, it's thunder that will fire them. We waste money to watch their movies in cinema and buy them online. It's our money they are feeding off o. Even the brand he's modelling for, we usually rush it. That's why it's always sold out in minutes. Yet, ordinary picture they cannot."
"You won't blame him na," Christy tried so hard not to let me think ill of her crush. "Well, I've got good news for you."
"Look Christy," I said slowly. "The only good news I can receive right now is if someone wire hundred Kay inside my account."
Christy reach for her laptop and placed it at my lap. "Well if you don't get ready, this hundred Kay won't get to you."
My eyes skimmed through her laptop screen then it grew once I saw the word shortlisted written in green colour. "I passed the exam?" To be honest, I never knew I would. Christy wasn't that smart to give me a pass. "I passed the exam!"
Christy did answer most of the questions so I hugged her tightly for her effort. I now had a fifty percent chance of actually getting the job. I just couldn't believe it. All the stupid annoying encounter I had with Henry was totally gone.
"Now it's left for Baby to do his so called magic." Christy added. I believed in Baby. I believed in his chains of friends. I believed they won't disappoint. Now my Prayer was to let my name do its work again.
_____________
Bang!
The huge Ghana must go landed on the carpeted floor. It was baby with his I've got a guy that got a guy that got a..... Well you knew what he said. Inside the Ghana must go, were items to help with my disguise.
"This cost me forty-two thousand, "Baby dragged, forcing my jaw to drop.
I opened the zipper to peer in. "Lie!"
"I bold?" Baby stepped aside so I could examine each items. "Shipping fee is not a part, talk more less of waybill."
"Why is it that expensive na?" Christy complained. We weren't happy. If we were going to refund Baby, it won't be Forty-two but atleast fifty, if we add the money he spent for both shipping fee and waybill. We would surely pay him back. But the thing was, what if I eventually don't get the job?
"Inside you'll see thicker brows, short boyish hair wig that would make you look like an outcastβ"
"It's you that's an outcast in Jesus name!" I gave Baby the Waka sign. All Baby did was flap his hands in disinterest.
"He meant half-caste, mixed race. Don't mind him." Christy corrected, then turned to Baby. "Hope say the brows no be Chinese sticker brows sha. She needs something boyish and not something that would make her more sexy."
"I no blind," Was all Baby said. He reached for the Ghana must go and brought out a transparent nylon which had two full brows. Like those used for costume. Inside that same transparent nylon were thick short sideburns. That wasn't all. Baby still dug his hand into the Ghana must go and brought out a white wrap.
"What's this?" Christy took the wrap from Baby and examined it.
"For wrapping breast tight, local woman." I took the item from her. "Watch Korean film, you say no. Yet you'll be falling for that fowl."
"I don't blame you," Christy hissed. "Go and marry Lee Min Ho na."
"Who Lee Min Ho help?" I scrunched my nose at her. "When a whole ass Kim Taehyung exist."
"A-hem!" Baby cleared his throat loudly, just to stop Christy's and I bickering. His stern look forced us to go back to what we were doing earlier.
Next thing Baby brought out were several jackets with artificial biceps. Three maxi polos and six joggers. There were four sneakers and a male booth. Each were quite high to boost me to the right height.
"This is all my money could buy," Baby announced. "If you need shirts and shoe just come to my room. But my moneyβ"
"We know!" Christy and I, snapped.
"No be say you be Igbo man," I hissed then held the Ghana must go as I began dragging it to the other side of the room.
"When is the interview?" Baby enquired.
"When be the interview again?" I paused to think. Christy smacked me at my back.
"The day after tomorrow, mumu." Christy fired. I rolled my eyes as we all sat on the bed, staring at the painting on the wall.
"But..." I trailed. The few moment of silence made me to calculate my thoughts. "What if they don't hire me? What if they see through me on the first day and realize I'm a girl?"
"Better swallow those what ifs," Baby said right after. "Cause I need my money back. You would have waited to have the job first before letting me order these things."
Christy let out a long hiss and began to bicker with Baby on how he loves money more than friendship. I sat still, tuning them out while weighing my pros and cons.

So Hope and friends (lol) are getting ready for the interview and have gotten the required things. How do you think the interview will go?
Hope feels Henry is too arrogant. Are you also seeing the rudeness she's seeing?
