- Hope's POV -
It was the next day for Eniola's interview and I was seated beside Henry on a white soft cup couch. To distract myself a bit, I decided to watch Eniola as she gave instructions to the various assistants with her, before she commenced the interview. The studio looked nice. This was something I'd only seen on TV. Never in my wildest dream would I think I'd be invited here to be interviewed by the Eniola.
Henry was a busy person. He was busy this morning with his movie premier and now, an interview. Being a celebrity was hectic, and that realization forced me to scold myself for insulting him during our first meeting at the supermarket just because he couldn't give me a selfie.
Yemi wasn't here yet which was okay cause we still had about thirty minutes before the interview. Besides, it wasn't like the interview would start without her. I thought I'd be nervous facing the camera but I wasn't. Maybe it was because I had Henry beside me.
Minutes passed and the door to the studio opened, revealing Yemi. She was looking so beautiful in her flowing white thigh-length gown and golden sandals. Her hair which was usually the colour red was now black and her makeup was neatly done which enhanced her beauty even more. Like I'd said in the past, Yemi was the standard. She was so beautiful that even I, had to admit it. Plus, her present outfit made her look so classy and elegant. She looked like the swam princess.
Unlike Yemi, I had a blue designer crop top, black tight leather trousers, and black covered heels. My human hair felt nice and silky as it fell over my shoulders with its scanty bangs almost covering my eyes to give me a different gorgeous look.
What came next was a shock to me. It was like I was in a boxing ring and someone knocked me out with just one blow. "Wilson?"
It was a surprise to see him walk through the door just to stand beside Yemi. He looked straight at me in the eye but unlike me, he didn't look shocked.
"You know him?" Wilson leaned and whispered to me. I nodded. Even in my dreams, I'd know him.
"My first I told you about yesterday night." After the loving sex, I had with Henry last night, I decided to feel him in about Wilson, my first and only ex. He asked because I never mentioned Wilson's name and thought there was no need for that. "Same guy that helped me."
Yemi and Wilson found their way to us and took the other cup couch which was slightly facing ours. Eniola didn't have our time yet, as she was still keeping things in order.
"Hey Henry," Yemi said in her rich girly tone still waving at Henry. Henry had no choice but to reciprocate knowing Yemi didn't do anything too damaging. Yemi's gaze landed on me. "I can see she's doing well."
"She is," Henry glanced at me, then back at Yemi. "Can also say the same for you."
"Wilson told me everything," Yemi waved Henry's statement off. "Well, after the Internet showed me the majority. Isn't that girl your best friend? She claimed she was and that was why I believed and well.... trusted her. I mean she said things a normal person wasn't supposed to know. Was she faking it or was She your best friend?"
"Not anymore," I responded, eyes on Wilson. I remembered he said he'd met someone famous but never in my wildest dream would have guessed it to be Yemi.
"Okay!" We turned our heads to Eniola. She took a notepad and sat at a higher chair, facing the four of us.
"We're going live in five, four, three..." The cameraman behind the camera counted loudly. "... Two, one, go!"
"Hi and hello Nigeria, this remains your favorite host, Eniola Davis. Beside me is the talk of the town. The four sensations ready to break the Internet with their relationship status." Eniola started her words with so much enthusiasm to make anyone and everyone interested in more.
"I bring to you our very own Nigerian heartthrob. And guess what, he isn't alone. Our heartthrob has found his heartbeat in form of a human and she's no other than Hope!" I have never been introduced to such a manner before. She made it seem like I'd won a lottery or something and to be honest, Henry was much more than any treasure out there.
"The heartthrob isn't the only victim of cupid's arrow. Our nation's fairy has finally found her wings. Wings that could send her to cloud nine and that wings are no other than Wilson!" I thought I wasn't nervous, then I guess I was in denial. Eniola introduced Wilson and me like we mattered, forcing me to be a bit nervous.
I smiled awkwardly at the camera and didn't forget to wave. "So Henry, Yemi, weren't you both in a relationship in the past? Like you both were the power couple, the IT item. What happened? Everyone is dying to know."
"Yeah," Yemi stepped in, looking straight at the camera, before looking back at Eniola while biting her lower cherry red lips. "Our relationship was a lie."
"We dating was fake," Henry turned to Yemi. "Not our relationship. Indeed, I didn't have any sort of feelings towards you, but I wanted to be close to you before this whole contract stuff."
"So you both never loved each other?" Eniola asked, though for some reason I could tell she wasn't surprised. Plus, Henry did open up to me last night that he once had a one-night stand with her. It made me happy he was trying to make sure there wasn't any secret between us.
"No. Well yeah, I did have feelings for Henry. Too bad he had eyes for someone else, his bodyguard." I didn't know when I started smiling after she'd said that I guess Yemi wasn't that bad, though she almost ruined me.
"And how about Wilson? Can you introduce him to everyone? Like we are all dying for the tea you know." Eniola wriggled her index finger at Yemi and Wilson.
"Well like you all know, he's my boyfriend," Yemi announced. I found it a bit cute as Wilson dug his head low after her announcement. "He doesn't like all this meaning he didn't want to be here. But at the same time, he didn't wasn't to attend this interview alone knowing his friend and Henry would be here, so here we are."
"Oh, so they're friends?" Eniola leaned forward with a questioning brow. Friends weren't the right term to describe us but we decided to leave it at that. It wasn't like Wilson and I would start announcing our past to the world. It was obvious he told Yemi about our past, the same way I told Henry.
"Back to you Hope," Eniola diverted her eyes to me. "Why did you become Henry's bodyguard?"
"Strapped," I let out a shrug as I tried not to make my voice small. Her question took me unaware and I was trying not to show it. "There wasn't any money on the ground and being Henry's bodyguard held one of the best options."
"You were known as the human fraud right after Yemi released that video and your friend convinced her and made it look like you wanted to trap Henry by being his baby mama." Eniola chuckled at her own words. I won't blame her, it was indeed funny. Christy was funnily stupid.
"Funnily enough, Christy was a good person and I'd be forever thankful for her. What spoilt her was her obsession towards Henry." I felt Henry's arm around my mind, while an assistant gestured for the cameraman to zoom in on that.
"Obsession is a bad thing," Eniola acknowledged. She went on with another series of questions that took close to another fifty minutes.
Finally, the interview was over and we four found ourselves heading out of the studio. Right outside the studio, Yemi stopped, forcing us all to do the same. She of course still had her sassy attitude but now it seemed a bit tolerable.
"I want to...." I arched a brow and waited for Yemi. She seemed to be struggling. She let out a sigh as if giving up. "Apologize for everything. After Wilson informed me of your kidnap, I felt really bad for not just you, but for him too. I never knew he did that."
My eyes widened at her apologies. The Yemi, nation's fairy, apologizing to me? It sounded too good to be true. Wilson on the other hand looked away, trying not to meet my gaze.
"Thanks for helping her man, you don't know what you've done for me."Henry offered, stretching out his hands to Wilson.
"It's alright," Wilson accepted Henry's handshake. "If I knew it was Cherry, I'd never have done it."
"Great!" Yemi clapped her hands then gestured to me, "I'm dating your ex and you are dating my ex. What should we call this? Relationship of exes?"
Her words made me laugh. Maybe, Wilson did make the right choice. I could tell she was trying to become a better version of herself, just like what I was doing right now.
"Your apology is accepted," I informed Yemi, while finally giving in. "It wasn't your fault that you were manipulated by Christy. You did love Henry and wanted what you think was yours. Christy took that to her advantage. I also forgive you for throwing ice cream all over my face."
"Yeah that," Yemi laughed awkwardly after being reminded of that past incident. "Well off we go, Wilson and I are about to go see a movie."
"It's a scary movie, Yemi." Wilson deadpanned as they both turned to leave. "Are you sure you can handle that?"
"Scary is my specialty," Henry and I watched as they got to their car. "And I have you hold on to."
They both got to their car and minutes after, they were out of the premises. "They seem perfect."
"Yeah," I agreed to Henry's words. They were. "Wilson doesn't show his love like every other man but he cares twice as much."
"Do you still-" I stopped and turned to hold both Henry's shoulders. I knew the words that were about to come out of his mouth and I didn't want him to think in that direction. Not at all.
"No, Wilson is my past and will remain my past." I found myself standing close to Henry, ready to plant my lips on his any second. "I do not love him, I love you."
