"-Tomorrow's gonna be a long day but I'll try my best to make sure the movie comes out great." It was past ten in the night yet Christy wouldn't let me sleep with all her squealing.
"Ahhh!" I jumped in bed upon hearing her loud squeal.
"Stop na! Watin be your own na? Watin?!" I cried in annoyance. "Must you show yourself everyday?"
I tried going back to sleep knowing I got a long day tomorrow. Finding out my schedule for tomorrow through Dorcas, wasn't a work in the park. My whole day tomorrow would be spent watching two grown-ups play mama and papa play with no sand as food.
"Henry's starting his shoots tomorrow?!" Chirped Christy while I tried ignoring her. "Why didn't you tell me?!"
"How could I? When you went out to go meet your ancestors." I said sleepily. "You came back and I was already tired and had forgotten to inform you. Let me sleep mbok!"
"I can't sleep!" Christy said excitedly.
"That's a you problem...." I trailed, my heavy eyes began to drop.
Finally I could feel the sleep coming and I couldn't wish for any other thing except to sleep. "Look at his well structured face! Can your crush ever?!"
"Christabelle!" I yelled, smacking the pillow hard across her face. "Don't let me naked curse you o!"
___________________
I sat in bed, smacking my head as my already due weave-on kept itching me. Rubbing my eyes and letting out a loud long yawn, I got up from bed with a wrapper wrapped around my chest and a towel in hand. I reached for a bucket filled with water and my soap case. Looking at Christy whom was still sleeping, I dashed out to go have my bath.
"Cold dey o," I exclaimed to myself once I stepped out of the room. Baby was out taking a smoke and Mary happened to be with Sandra, as she gave her company while doing her laundry.
"Baby howfa?" I greeted while walking passed him. He nodded his head in acknowledgement. I proceeded in walking passed Mary and Sandra but their annoying laughs kept me in place.
"Who she wan impress?" Ancient of days commented, "Her yansh don open."
"But I been think say Christy and her be big babes o." Sandra opened her mouth like the fowl she was.
"Big babes for inside one room," Mary snorted. "Christy? That one is even worst. I'm sure inbetween her legs is one big borehole."
"Will you shut up?!" None had the right to speak to Christy with such ridicule. "Good riddance to bad rubbish."
"Like yourself," Sandra laughed with Mary.
"Atleast guys flocks around Christy and I. What about you?" I placed my hands on my waist while Baby watched the show. "Atleast I can say guys ask Sandra out even though she looks like small letter 'i'."
I watched Sandra sink further into the small stool she was sitting on. "And what about you? Your face alone would make a masquerade think they are the face of 2022. You've got a nice shape but can't even take care of yourself."
I moved closer, placing my bucket down. "You smell Mary, smell! Last time you were looking for a pant that would be rejected by others to use as a rag."
The only thing Mary could do was to glare at me because she knew quite well I'd finish her if we both get into a fight.
"Nice chitchat, wasn't it?" I scoffed in a sarcastic manner and turned to grasped my bucket handle. "Catch you both later."
I heard Baby laugh his usual mocking laugh as I approached the bathroom and opened the door. Upon seeing the ceramic pit, I almost threw up on sight.
"Who shit no flush!"

I stood alone on the set location, not quite far from where Henry was reading his lines. Base on the scenery, it was obvious Henry was a photographer that loves capturing moments. The set was a studio apartment that looked a bit rusty. Henry sat in bed and held the script loosely in his hands. The other girl meant to act on this scene with him, was getting her makeup done.
Are you ready?!" The director yelled to get everyone's attention while I stepped back to make way for him to walk through. "Who are you?"
It took me sometime to know the director was actually talking to me. I cleared my throat to ready my voice. "Henry's bodyguard."
The director gave me a one way look but chose not to comment on it. Asshole.
I turned to look at Henry but caught him already staring at me with the script in his left hand. I gulped and look elsewhere trying not to ever make such eye contact with him ever again, as the director yelled 'action!'.
Henry was seen arranging some set of paintings the character he was playing, owned. The side character which happened to be the girl getting her makeup done earlier, walked in and placed her manicured fingers on his broad shoulders. "Buchi darling, you've worked hard. Why don't you come relax?"
Henry playing the character Buchi, stood erect and turned to the girl. "You know well enough I've got an appointment with C.R.B collection, Vicky."
"But I'll be quick," The girl playing Vicky, gave a very seductive smile that could lure any man into sin. I'd have to give it to them, they were very good. I could never.
"I'd be back this evening," Hen- sorry, Buchi leaned to kiss Vicky right on the cheek but Vicky pulled away before he could have a chance. "What?"
"Friends with benefit, remember?" Vicky said without any trace of sympathy laced in her voice.
Buchi let out a disapproving sigh but folded his project nonetheless. "Sure, whatever you say."
And Buchi walked out of the scene.
"Cut!" Yelled the director while the crew scurried to the actors. "Henry you were perfect. Ugo," The girl playing Vicky looked at the director expectantly. "You were a bit lacking, how about we do a retake." That wasn't a question.
I let out a sigh as I watched them act the exact same scene for the second time just because 'Ugo was a bit lacking'. Thank God they pay them well.
Yemi used that moment to arrive on set and immediately was treated as royalty as everyone tried hard to get on her good side.
"Hope," Yemi called during one of her shoots, pronouncing my name as 'houpe'. I sighed internally and bounced over to her direction.
"Yes ma'am!" I said in a baritone voice. Well I hope it was a baritone.
"Can you head over to Diamonds meal and get me lunch?" I scrunched my nose at her. Was the meal on set not delicious enough to her taste?
"Ma'am with all due respect, I'm here to watch and keep Henry safe." Yemi chuckled at my words while I dragged my attention elsewhere. "I can get you someone to help get your lunch, ma'am."
Yemi let out another snicker as she turned to the side in disbelief. I didn't give a fuck with whatever was going on in her mind. I was a bodyguard not an errand boy.
"Aren't you Henry's bodyguard?" His bodyguard not his servant was what I wanted to say. "Aren't I his girlfriend? What's his, is automatically mine. So you're mine too."
I wanted to scoff. Nation's fairy my ass. She made it look like I was an item or something.
"So go get me what I ask for!" She whisper-yelled at me. I took in few breaths through my nose and let it all out through my mouth. It was the only way to control myself from bitch slapping this idiot.
"Money?" It was like I had just won best comic act of the year, as Yemi opened her dog mouth to laugh to her heart content.
"Use yours," She must be joking. I should use my last six kay on her? It was like she was begging for curses. "We pay you, don't we?"
Henry's manager pays me not you, was what I wanted to say. "What do you want me to get for you?" Came out of my mouth instead.
Yemi rosy red lips formed a huge grin as she thought hard on what she wanted. "A small plate of ice-cream, burger, large donut and a plate of fried rice. Oh!" She lifted her pointing finger upon remembering an item. "With one table water."
I felt like bursting with the rage sipping into my system. All this she mentioned was present on set, yet she decided to display her wicked trait. "Yes ma'am."
I hated being weak, hated having no damn right to speak my mind, hated bring run over. Right now, Yemi was doing all three to me.
Why does celebrities act like some demi god or something? I asked as I finally stopped a bike and got on it. Did they know that without us - fans - they would be nothing? Yemi was someone that was appreciated by almost all Nigerians. How I wished Nigerians would see the life of the one person they adore so much.
This life no just balance.
The bike finally stopped at my destination. "You fit wait for me? I no go take time."
"Kai oga you go pay me o," The bike man grumbled while I scrunch my nose. "Kai oga you go pay me extra for wasting my time o, oga."
I hissed at the man. "Abeg take your money!" I threw two hundred notes at him and snatched my fifty naira change from him before matching to the eatry entrance.
Getting to the entrance, the door men placed there made me feel like an important person. They bow and greeted me before sliding the door open for me to get through.
This people can burst person head with services.
I moved further into the building and noticed how sophisticated it was for an eatry. The first thing that crossed into my mind was how expensive everything would be in here. I moved to where I could place orders and luckily there wasn't a queue.
"Good afternoon and welcome to Diamonds meal. What would you like to order?" Services na your mate? Was the only voice in my head.
"Um..... Small cup of ice-cream, a burger, a big donut, table water and one place of fried rice." I listed everything Yemi asked me to get her.
"Okay," The lady smiled in a flirtatious manner before moving over to a different section to get my order.
Within seconds she was cross checking my orders before punching on a cash calculator machine. "Eight-five, sir."
"Eh?!" Stunned by my action, the lady still let out a small smile. I fucking knew the moment I stepped into this place that their things would be very expensive.
"Eight thousand five hundred naira, sir." She said each words slowly while I gulped. My village people remembered me today.
"Can I pay with ATM card and then cash?" I enquired. To my luck the lady nodded. I brought out my card and handed it over to her. J watched as she slid my six kay from my account as I punch my pass code. Thank goodness my bank let me withdraw up to zero naira, unlike Christy's that usually leave one thousand naira for the bank.
I reached for my wallet and brought out my last cash. Two kay with six fifty naira notes. I handed the two kay plus five fifty naira notes to her which left me with just fifty naira as I retrieved the items. I moved out of the eatry with my head low in thoughts.
Right now I was expected to treck back to set? "Yemi I swear, e no go better for you."
"Hope?" I pressed my lips and sucked in breath. Slowly I turned to see Jackson with a leather jacket, gray inner and blue reap jean. His brows arched amused at something. He heard that, there was no fucking way he didn't. My village people did remember me today.
"H-hi Jackson," I had to stutter? Way to go Cherry. I needed to get a grip on myself. There was still a possibility he had no idea I said ill things towards Yemi.
"I believe that's for Yemi?" It was official, Jackson heard. My village people were really good at this game. And to think because I know get money I go village earlier my village people no poison me. So this was their plan? To ruin me. I was quite sure if I was the main character in a book it would be titled my village people. But who would want to read about my boring life?
"Yes," I cleared my throat and replied in a manly way. "She was hungry and needed to eat."
Jackson face all of a sudden morphed into pity for unknown reasons. "That's a lot of fat, I doubt she'd eat any of these."
I looked down at the nylon bag in my possession but made no comment. "Are you going back to the set?" I nodded at Jackson's question. "You can wait in the car, I'll take you back. Let me just go get something inside."
He clicked on his car remote and I spotted a car beep twice.
"It's open," He informed me, I nodded again, short of words. Maybe not all celebrities were bad after all. Jackson represented the few.
I walked over to the car and sat at the front seat. Gosh was it so comfy. He had cds and mixed songs and I decided to go through it to while away time. Surprisingly, his album or single wasn't among the cds.
Why wasn't he listening to his own songs? He was literally one of the Nigerian musicians that had rhythm and an actual voice. The Door opened and I yelped, falling most of the cds as they landed close to my feet.
"Sorry," I responded out of habit.
"What?" I looked up to see Jackson staring down at me with a ghost smile. Did I use my actual voice on him? No way.
"I said sorry," I morphed my voice back. He nodded and found himself on the driver's seat.
"See anything you like?" He asked, starting the ignition.
"Uh?"
"The music," He pointed at the many disc scattered close to my feet.
"Ah," I proceeded in picking it all and placing it at their earlier spot. "Not into Nigerian songs. But I like yours."
I heard him laugh a little as we were finally back on the main road. "Are you just saying that because I'm sitting right here?"
"No, it's true." I tried telling him. "Atleast yours comes with a nice music tone."
He chuckled once more, driving with just his left hand on the steering wheel. "Thanks, you sound like a fan girl."
G-girl?
"Uh, no." I made my voice way deeper than usual. "How can I sound like a girl when I'm clearly a boy?"
Jackson drifted his attention from the road and spared me a few second glance before setting his attention back on the road. "Of course."
I looked out the window feeling so uneasy. I needed to say something to make me look like a man before I blew my cover. Korean movies made this gender presence look so easy but it was far from it.
"So, I've got a friend. He's a rapper, a potential one." Jackson nodded in silence. "His name is Baby."
Jackson laughter took me off guard as I tried to figure out what was so funny. "A rapper named Baby? Cute."
"He's a friend," I continued. "Not a baby at all."
"So a monster baby?" Jackson lifted a brow. Finally we got to the set and Jackson found a suitable spot to park his car.
"Something like that," I mumbled, taking off my seat belt.
Jackson nodded, pulling his key from his ignition and grasping what he bought earlier from the eatry. "I'm happy you got your friend in mind but I do not need a rapper right-"
"What about your upcoming album?" I insisted.
"Even in my upcoming album," Jackson said slowly, making his decision known. "I think it's about time you get Yemi her order before it gets cold."
My mind went straight to the ice-cream. God abeg make e never melt.
Before Jackson could say Jack, I rushed out of his car and towards the set. Getting close I noticed everyone packing up.
"What's going on?" I asked one of the crew.
"We're going to the new set to shoot Yemi's scene." I was informed by the new development. I scanned the area for Yemi but she was nowhere to be found. Unfortunately I spotted Henry instead. He was busy with a wardrobe change.
"Your outfit for the next scene are all ready Mr Williams, do you want to test them out?" One of the officials in charge of wardrobe change asked.
"Can it wait? I'm looking for-" Henry stopped once he made another eye contact with me. I gulped as I tried looking the other way, reminding myself never to connect eyes with that asshole. Without completing his sentence with the poor lady, he took long stride towards me.
"Where did you run off to?" He demanded, a bit angry. I cleared my throat, how could I compete with such voice. Mine definitely sounded like broken record compared to his.
"Your girlfriend asked me to get her few things from an eatry." I knew I should be more polite when it comes to Yemi but even her attitude towards me wasn't worth any fake politeness.
"What are you here for?" Henry wasn't hearing any of it. "To go on errand for Yemi or to be by my side?!"
I knew being by his side meant meant protecting him from every harm but why did I read such word with a double meaning?
"She's your girlfriend, what's yours is automatically hers." I quoted Yemi's words dryly.
"You're not an item," Thank you! For once Henry decided to speak with sense. "What's that? I supposed the things you got for her?"
I looked at the nylon bag still in my possession. "Did she give you money for those?"
"No but-" Henry let out a frustrated breath.
"How much?"
"Uh?" I wasn't sure I heard him right.
"How much does it cost?" Henry was willing to pay? For real?
"Fifteen thousand naira sir," I gulped as Henry looked at me straight in the eye. His stares always had this effect which reminded me not to look at him directly in the eye. "Sir, this eatry is a pretty expensive one. Funnily enough, the ice-cream I got alone they charged for the cover, plate, ice-cream itself and the nylon, talk more less of the other items. They even charged for the service rendered."
"The money altogether was meant to be eighteen thousand naira, but I priced it." I really hoped Henry was an idiot to believe me. "You know when someone has pricing in their DNA? I inherited it from my lineage so it was easier to bring down the price to fifteen."
"Your account number?" My lips paused. Compared to my rambling, Henry had a calm soothing voice. I called my bank details for him and watched as he worked with his phone. Soon, I heard my phone beeped and saw a message from firstbank before looking at Henry with wide eyes. "For your troubles."
"Twenty thousand naira sir?" How could he believe what I just said? And to think Christy and Baby usually call me a horrible liar. Mugu don enter.
"When did you start giving your staff money?" I felt a presence behind me.
"You came," Henry said instead.
"The director is speaking to my manager about my wages. I'm quite expensive you know." Jackson said to Henry, no longer behind but beside me. The way I got lost with whatever shit they were talking about.
"I'm thinking of making an original song for these movie," Jackson stated his plan to Henry. "What do you think?"
Henry stared at me for a bit then shrugged as he looked back at Jackson. "Sounds great."
Jackson nodded, glancing down at his wrist watch. "You seem busy, don't want to keep you."
"You plan on going to the studio later today?" The more they keep prolonging their talk the more I kept staring at the ice-cream that was probably melting.
"Yeah, just came to look around after I gave...." Jackson trailed, staring at me. ".... Your bodyguard a lift. I should get going."
I finally sighed seeing how their conversation was over. The sooner we leave the quicker Yemi reunite with her orders.
"Let's go," Henry said to me, moving ahead while I walked behind him with spread arms.
"Mr Williams!" A voice called. I turned to see it was the person in charge of wardrobe change. "What about the outfit?"
"I'll see it at the new site," Henry replied without looking back. Getting out we still saw Jackson. They both acknowledged each other once more before stepping into their various cars.
Of course by stepping into, I meant me driving and Henry, relaxing like the king he was at the back.
_______________________
I rushed in once we got to the new set but not too much so I wouldn't look desperate.
Unfortunately for me, Yemi was acting her scene and so I waited, and waited. I met with her personal assistant once I knew the wait was getting too much and that one decided to flirt with me rather than answering me. Finally, Yemi was done with her shoot and it was time to handover her orders. To my dismay, Henry was dressed fully in his character. He moved to the front camera and began acting his scenes with Yemi. I had no choice but to watch.
Scenes after scenes after scenes, the director decided to call it a day. Call it a day at fucking nine-thirty pm! I got up nonetheless as many rushed to Yemi and Henry, to cover each with a blanket and treated them like a god.
"Yemi, your order." It wasn't my fault I was giving it to her by this hour. Even after they had breaks I didn't have the chance to meet her, knowing she was either getting her hair done or her makeup touched.
"My order?" Yemi asked. "How do you expect me to eat brunch at ten in the night?
"It isn't my fault, it's-"
"Mine," Yemi shrugged, spreading her arms and then placing it beside her again. "How can you protect my boyfriend with such incompetence?"
I remained quiet. God, was I boiling inside. If it wasn't for this disguise of a thing, I would have bitch slapped her. The worst she could do was to either sue me, which she obviously won't do so it won't taint her pure image as the nation's fairy. Congratulations Henry, you just became my second least favorite person.
"Lemme see that ice-cream?" Yemi said instead. I pressed lips as I shoved my hand into the nylon and brought out the ice-cream she asked for. Base on the temperature, I could tell it has already melted. Obviously.
I handed it over to Yemi as she opened the lid, wiggled the ice-cream and watched it slid both sides at every turns. It came so sudden but the only thing I felt later on was sticky liquid splashed hard across my face.
I sucked in breath as I wiped some sticky substance away from my eyes. Once I could see properly, I noticed the smirk plastered on Yemi's face. "Oops."
I couldn't do anything to Yemi. I wish I could but I just couldn't. For the first time because of a stranger, I felt like crying.
Feet sounds came afterwards and the next thing I knew, Henry was standing beside Yemi. He took note of my present condition. Was what I expecting? For him to say something? The only thing he did was to grasp Yemi's hand and pull her to trail behind him.
"It wasn't my fault," Yemi managed to say while being dragged by Henry. "My hands must have slipped and-"
I couldn't listen to the rest as they were completely out of sight. Of course, no one care about some bodyguard. The others went back to what they were doing.
I let out a sigh and walked out with the nylon still in my possession. The evening air was cold and since I wasn't Henry nor Yemi, I wasn't given a blanket. Why did I have to wear stripe long sleeves? I should have won the jean jacket Baby wanted me to wear.
Stepping out I spotted Henry and Yemi. Both seem to be in a heated argument. Henry most have sensed me watching as the next thing he did was to look sideways to meet my gaze. I quickly looked away and cleared my throat. Though it didn't help that I side glance once in a while. Henry said one last thing to Yemi, then left her standing alone as he stormed towards me.
"Take me home," He ordered coldly. I didn't think twice as I followed him to where I had packed the car earlier. He got to the back seat as usual while I sat at the front. Carefully sliding the key in the ignition, I reverse from the spot.
Holdup was the best name for it to be honest. This traffic was the real definition of standstill. We stood still for hours and began to go-slow every few minutes.
"I'm sorry," I almost hit the breaks. "For what Yemi did."
"It's okay, social ladder permits anything." Which was true. If I wasn't poor I wouldn't be so desperate to become a bodyguard. If I wasn't a bodyguard, I wouldn't have been humiliated by Yemi.
"Still," Henry said at the back. "It's not right."
I scoffed, "I thought you hated me minutes you saw me, sir. You should be rejoicing your girlfriend did this to me."
"I hated the thought of you, not you." I looked at the rear view mirror to see Henry staring out the window. "I really don't want a bodyguard yet my sister won't let it end at that."
Maybe I misjudged him? The thought of what he said to me at that club came flashing in and my mouth formed a small frown. Certainly not. He was an asshole in sheep clothing.
"It's alright sir," I forced myself to say. "It's good we both know where we stand."
We finally got to his house as I parked his car under his car tent. We both stepped down and I handed his key over to him with a slight bow.
Henry looked at his phone, "It's late, you can stay the night."
"No sir, I clearly can take care of myself. I'll just call my ride." I said to him.
"The guy from the other night?" Henry looked up from his phone and I nodded. "You drove on that road and saw how busy it is. It's few minutes passed eleven, stop being stubborn."
Henry turned and started moving towards his mansion, leaving me no other option but to trail behind. This was the first time I was really moving into his house.
Inside was grand, attractive, captivating, expensive, and what other adjective needed for description. I tried not to show how awestruck I was as I walked into the living room that looked like a large hall. All these celebrities that would use all their money to buy house. I won't be surprised if he dedicated a large room for an indoor swimming pool.
Stepping further into the room I felt small as the chairs were large and the huge plasma TV was against the whole. Everything echos, even our footsteps.
"Welcome," Henry said, his voice echoing. He reached for the TV remote and turned it on. "Come with me."
I nodded and didn't hesitate to follow. We both climbed the flight of stares and funnily enough I kept counting each steps out of habit.
With this sort of money I won't mind to becoming his baby mama. Hundred thousand naira was obviously like hundred naira to him.
We got to a room and to my surprise was a single room. Don't get me wrong. It was incredibly large, like twice the size of the room Christy and I was sharing. It had a large bed, a mini fridge, an AC, fan, wardrobe, Center rug, reading table and a chair, light lamp, but no adjoined bathroom.
"This is the guest room," Henry said, giving me reasons why there wasn't a bathroom in it. "There are probably hoodies and sweat pants in there. Take any and shower up. The single bathroom meant just for you is located across the hall."
I could do nothing but just nod at his words. His eyes lingered on me for a few seconds and I watched him shook his head before leaving me to myself. Once he was gone, I closed the door and squealed so loud. I jumped on the bed and was surprised at how bouncy the bed was, unlike that mumu foam.
"Shey if Christy dey here na I for use her iPhone snap picture." I spoke to myself. I didn't let that bother me as I managed my phone camera. So this was what the rich were enjoying. They get house?
I jumped down from the bed and moved to the wardrobe. Indeed hoodies, joggers and some loose shirts was placed neatly and ready for use. I searched for the perfect hoodie and sweat pant to cover my shape as I rushed to the bathroom.
The bathroom seemed bigger than the room Christy and I shared. It had a rectangular mirror plastered on the wall, a sink, a new set of toothbrush that was already placed, and a toothpaste. It had a shower and a bathtub. It also had a small curtain demarcating the toilet seat from the rest of the toilet area.
I stood in front of the mirror with a sigh, wishing I had this sort of life for real. I pulled my shirt as I stared at my wrapped breast in the mirror.
I let out another sigh. I just had to endure for like three months. My breast was aching and I couldn't wait to take the wraps off. Placing my arms on the wraps, the door flew open forcing a loud gasped from me.
"Oh my God, so sorry!" My head snapped to the side only to witness Jackson covering his eyes as he tried to step out of the toilet and closing the door behind him.
"I thought the bathroom was occupied," I heard him say behind the door. "Damn Henry didn't tell me it was occupied by someone. I'll go to my room instead!"
So he had an adjoined bathroom but decided to come into the guest bathroom? I felt mad, but all anger dissolved when a thought flew into my head.
"D-did he see?
My eyes landed on the white wrap around my chest, I gulped the lump down my throat. I felt so stupid for not locking the door.
God please, let him not see. I hardly pray but even I knew when things were beyond my control. Atleast let me receive my first month salary before drama.
_______________________
Minutes passed, I had freshen up and wrapped my chest with a new set. I wore the gigantic hoodie and sweatpants before putting on my external disguise. Once I was back to the room, I thought it would be best to heat up the burger and donut. I placed every item inside the mini fridge as I walked out of the room to go ask Henry for permission.
Reaching downstairs and moving to what looked like the dinner area, I spotted both boys having dinner.
My eyes lingered on Jackson for few seconds before moving to Henry. I stood at attention like I was in the army and had my head held high.
"Sir," My voice deep and firm. "I ask for permission to heat up some snacks."
Henry didn't bother to look at me while I noticed how hard Jackson was trying not to laugh. I let out a sigh. He doesn't look like he saw. If he did, he would have been blabbering about it by now.
"Loosen up a bit," Henry finally said. "Throw those snacks away."
I should throw my eight thousand five hundred naira away?
"But sir-"
"And fetch yourself dinner from the kitchen." He completed. Good thing I didn't bring the snacks down. There was no way I'd waste money like that.
"Thank you sir," I turned and moved over to the kitchen. I dished a full plate of jollof rice and deep fried turkey. Just looking at it got me salivating. I walked out of the kitchen and was automatically at the dinner area again. "Thank you sir."
"Where are you going?" Henry asked when he saw I was walking passed the area.
"To the room, sir." I thought that part was obvious enough.
Henry cleared his throat. He was sitting at the edge of the dinner table, while Jackson was sitting close to him at his left hand side. Henry stretched his hands to the right, also close to him. "Sit here."
My eyes moved from him to Jackson and then back to him again. So many things went through my mind as I complied. Did Jackson see? Did he tell on me?
I sat down and placed the food in front of me. Henry saw how huge the size of my meal was but didn't comment on it. Right in front of me was a table spoon, fork and a table knife. Na there wahala dey o. How do they expect me to enjoy turkey with fork and knife? Don't they know the joy it brings when you tear the meat with your teeth, break and suck on the bone?
"Yemi will try talking to you tomorrow," Jackson randomly stated. I guess it was the conversion they were having earlier. I watched as he reached for an orange juice and poured it on the glass cup close to me.
"Thank you," I mumbled as I stared at the cup and wondered if he really didn't see.
"I really don't want to talk about her right now," There was something in Henry's voice that I just couldn't place my finger on. He sounded like he...
"Don't seem to like her," I whispered but my eyes doubled in size when I realized I didn't only just voiced out my thought but Henry and Jackson probably heard me.
"See, even your bodyguard can tell." Jackson chuckled. They weren't mad at my outburst which gave me the boost to speak on.
"Well, if you're no longer in love with her, I've got a friend." I clumsily reached for my phone and searched for Christy's most sexy picture before showing it to Henry and Jackson. Well Jackson looked at the picture but Henry didn't pay it a second glance. "She's a very huge fan of yours, Beautiful, sexy, gorgeous, nice personality, trustwor-"
"Then why don't you date her instead?" Henry responded dryly.
"Iyama!" Jackson lifted a brow as he watched me with a playful smile. "She's just a friend, definitely not my type."
Jackson finally let out a laugh while Henry angrily place his fork harshly on the ceramic plate which let out a harsh sound. He stood up so suddenly, forcing his chair to squeak.
"Eat and go to bed," He instructed, wiping his hands with a napkin and placing it on his plate perfectly filled with food. What a waste. "You have a long day tomorrow."
Sighing, I sink into my chair. This people should be paying me more than a hundred kay.
