"You have to stop dragging me into your stupid plans, Salvatore." Buffy muttered to Damon in a whispered as the two of them were walking through the Lockwood mansion in search for Elijah, who they knew was here since Damon's new 'girlfriend' Andie, who was a good friend of her mother's, told him he was here.
"One, my plans are not stupid. Two, no, I won't." Damon replied as a smirk appeared on his face when he saw Elijah standing by Mrs. Lockwood.
"Have you spent much time in Richmond for your book? There's such a wealth of history there." Damon heard Carol ask Elijah, who's head had turned to their direction when they had entered the room.
"No, I'm focussing mostly on the smaller regions of Virginia. Lot's of research. Strictly academic." He answered, turning back to Mrs. Lockwood after getting a small look of Buffy's face. She hadn't seen him yet.
"That's fascinating." Carol Lockwood replied with a polite smile while Jenna came walking over to the Salvatore-Sommers duo
"Damon, what are you doing here?" Jenna asked, giving Buffy a weird look. She still didn't understand how her daughter could even stand to be in the Salvatore's presence.
"Hi, you came." Andie walked over to them as well, confusing Jenna even more.
"Hi." Damon responded, leaning in to place a kiss on her lips.
"Hi." Andie kissed back.
"Ugh." Buffy spoke, knowing Damon this relationship would be over in a few days and Andie would be end up hurt. The blonde didn't even know that Damon had been feeding on her.
"Thanks for introducing us, Jenna." Damon spoke, nodding his head at Andie before turning back to look at Carol and Elijah. "Come on, Buf."
"Why am I even listening to you?" Buffy wondered aloud as she followed behind the raven haired man.
"Damon, Buffy what a surprise." Carol said as she saw the two making their way over to them.
"Carol, hi." Damon spoke, pressing a kiss against Carol's cheeck.
"Mrs. Lockwood." Buffy greeted as well as Carol hugged her.
"Carol," Mrs. Lockwood corrected gently with a playful smile, as she released Buffy. "Please, Buffy, call me Carol."
Buffy offered a small, polite smile in return, but her attention was soon pulled to Elijah, who had turned toward them fully.
"Elijah, I'd like you to meet Damon Salvatore and Buffy Summers. His family is one of Mystic Falls' founding families. And of course, dear Buffy is related to the Gilberts, another one of our founding families." Carol informed Elijah, beaming with pride as she spoke about the founding families before turning back to him to introduce them to each other.
Damon hummed. "Such a pleasure to meet you." He spoke to Elijah and Buffy was that even Carol Lockwood saw his sarcasm shining right through.
"Oh, pleasure's mine." Elijah replied, shaking hands with Damon.
As Elijah turned to Buffy, his smile became genuine.

"What can I do for you, Damon?" Elijah asked as the three of them walked into Richard Lockwood's office which was now used a a study by his still alive wife. There was nobody inside of it, so they could talk in private.
Buffy immediately found her way over to one of the seats in the room.
"I was hoping we could have a word." Damon spoke.
"Where is Elena?" Elijah asked him in return.
"Safe. She's laying low."
Elijah, who stood behind Buffy's seat, looked down at her. Buffy, feeling his gaze on her, looked up and nodded, silently saying that Damon was speaking the truth. "
"Why exactly are you here?" Damon questioned the Original as he leaned against the desk in the room.
"Why don't you just stay focused on keeping Elena safe and leave the rest to me." Elijah said before walking towards the door to leave, finding that the conversation was already done, but Damon sped in front of him using his vampire speed.
"Not good enough."
Elijah, not finding the situation slightly as amusing as Damon did, grabbed the Salvatore's throat and sped him against the wall, holding Damon slightly up so that his feet were barely touching the floor underneath.
Damon grabbed Elijah's throat as well, but Elijah just twisted it with an easy hand movement, breaking Damon's hand.
Buffy, who stood up by now, groaned, just imagining the pain of hanging there against the wall while your hand is being broken.
"You young vampires, you're so arrogant. How dare you come in here and challenge me?"
"You can't kill me, man. It's not part of the deal."
Elijah's face hardened. "Silence." And then he stepped Damon in the neck with a pencil that he had seen laying on Carol's desk. He released his grip on Damon's throat and took a handkerchief out of his pocket to clean the few blood drops of his hand while Damon fell forwards, leaning on the desk while pressing a hand to his neck so that he could rip the pencil out of it.
"I'm an Original. Show a little respect." Elijah spoke, holding out the handkerchief to Damon who grabbed it immediately and pressed it against his neck so that he could clean the blood up on his neck so that it wouldn't make people outside the room ask question on why his neck was bleeding.
"The moment you cease to be of use to me, you're dead. So you should do what I say. Keep Elena safe." Elijah said before walking out of the room.
"My plans are not stupid." Buffy repeated Damon's words with a roll of her eyes as she moved over to her friend. "Here, let me." Buffy held out a hand so that Damon could put Elijah's handkerchief in her palm to clean up the rest of the blood that rested on the right side of his neck.
