(The Potters and the Prisoner of Azkaban, act three, chapter five)

π–₯” ݁ Λ–Φ΄ ΰ£ͺβšβ‚Š ⊹

It was currently 11 pm. A time where most of the Hogwarts students and teachers were asleep. Only the Prefects that were scheduled for patrol and two third year's were still awake and outside their common room.

"I love watching the stars." Nora Potter muttered. It was a thing she had been doing some of the nights that Harry had been already asleep but when she couldn't get herself to close her eyes. At least since she had gotten a bedroom.

"Really?" Theodore Nott asked her, surprising the girl who thought he wouldn't have heard her. But the two were lying pretty close together by the Black Lake on the blanket that Theo had brought in case she got cold.

"Yeah. It's calming." The girl replied. "I don't know why. Something about watching stars is just so amazing. That probably explains why one of my favourite subjects is Astronomy."

"Yes, it does." Theo replied with a small laugh.

"Oh, come on. You can't deny that watching the stars is one of the most amazing things to do." Nora spoke. Maybe she had her love for staying up and watching them from her mother or maybe from her father. A question she'll never have an answer on. "What else can you do when you're awake?"

"Writing." Theo answered as Nora rolled on her side, her eyes on Theo rather than on the many stars above them.

"Hmm. Okay, I'll admit, that's one of the most amazing things to do at night to." Nora admitted. "So do you do that a lot."

"Writing? A normal amount of time." Theo replied after thinking about it for a few seconds.

"Really?" Nora asked with a giggle, laying back down on her back, eyes back to the night sky.

"What?" Theo asked sitting up so that he was part of her view as well.

"I don't know. I just didn't take you for a writer."

"Oh, no, totally not. It's not like we spend the summer writing letters to each other." Theo spoke with sarcasm, causing the girl to let out another small laugh. "So tell me more."

"About?"

"You."

"Well, what do you wanna know?"

"Everything. What else do you love?" He asked.

"Uhm, I love Quidditch. Chocolate. My cat, Belle. My brother. He's really the most important part of my life. I wouldn't know what to do without him. Than my friends too. I'm really close with Hermione and Ron. And with the twins of course, both the Weasley and Longbottom twins, and then there is Lee of course. Oh, I l love reading too. And well, of course, like you already know by now watching the stars." Nora sat up, looking ahead of them to see someone or something approaching them. "A dog."

"Dogs? I took you more for a cat person." Theo replied, staring at Nora, but he quickly figured out what she had meant when the head of a growling dog appeared above his face, causing him to sit up.

"Nora, wait-" Theo started, thinking that the dog would attacked her when she reached out het arm to pet him.

And surprisingly enough, the dog didn't. The dog let the girl pet him without any growling.

"You were saying?" Nora asked, looking over at Theo with a small smirk on her face.

Theo rolled his eyes, playfully, before his own hand reached out to pet the dog as well, but the dog started growling at him again.

"Well, I don't that dog likes me."

"Maybe he's just more of a girl's dog?" Nora wondered aloud.

"I think so." Theo spoke and he could swear that that dog was now glaring in his direction.

"I wonder who he belongs to." Nora replied as she checked her way home for the time. "I think we should head back. I know it's Percy's time to patrol and I know that he is passing by the front door in a few minutes."

"Okay."

"I'll come back for you with some food." Nora whispered to the dog, who looked way too thin, as she petted his head once more before leaving the Black Lake with Theo.

"Thank you." Nora spoke to him.

"For what?" The Nott boy asked her.

"This was really fun." Nora said, making aΒ  soft smile appear on Theo's lips.

Sirius and James high fived. "Good job, Padfoot."

"So, from who does she have it? Watching the stars?" Rebekah asked, knowing that her brother didn't do it.

"Definitely Regulus." Sirius answered, and Regulus nodded, for once not annoyed to let his brother know that he was right.

"That's the same dog as that night." Elijah realised.

"Yes. From when the Knight Bus picked them up." Finn added.

"Could it really be a death omen?" Klaus asked.

"I don't think so. I mean you just saw it for yourselves. The dog didn't do anything to her." Rebekah said.

"Remember, these visits to Hogsmeade village are a privilege. Should your behavior reflect poorly on the school in any way that privilege shall not be extended again." Professor McGonagall spoke the next day to the crowd of students before her and Filch, who was accepting the permission forms to check that their parents or care takers had granted them permission to go to Hogsmeade, as the Potter twins came running over to her, both with an empty, not signed by uncle Vernon, paper.

"No permission form signed, no visiting the village. That's the rule, Potters." She said, already knowing what they were going to ask her.

"All those with permission, follow me. Those without, stay put." Filch spoke to the students, following the professor, who had just tried to walk away from the Potters, over to the other students.

But Nora and Harry quickly managed to stop Professor McGonagall from walking.

"We thought if you signed it, then we could." Harry spoke,Β confirmingΒ McGonagall's thought.

"I can't. Only a parent or a guardian can sign. Since I am neither, it would be inappropriate." McGonagall spoke, closing the conversation for discussion. As she walked away, she turned to them once more, putting a hand on Harry's shoulder in comfort. "I'm sorry, Potters. That's my final word."

"Forget about it, guys. See you later." Harry spoke to Ron and Hermione, who were standing not much further away from them. The two had also hoped that McGonagall would have been willingly to sign the paper so that their two best friends could go with them as the visited Hogsmeade for the first time.

With short nods, Hermione and Ron walked away, over to the rest of students.

"Well, this definitely sucks." Nora let out a sigh.

"Tell me about it." Harry replied with sarcasm. "So, what do you wanna do?" He asked her, hoping that she had found something to entertain them till Ron and Hermione returned.

"Professor Lupin and Professor Macdonald invited us over for tea. Lupin sent me a letter this morning, but I forgot to tell you, since we were trying to get into Hogsmeade,Β sorry." Nora explained. "Maybe we could do that today?"

Harry nodded, already on his way to walk back inside the castle.

Nora held him back. "What do you see about a game of Quidditch first? The first match of this years is coming soon and now with almost everyone gone, the pitch will be as good as empty. And Lupin said we could swing by any time."

"All right." Harry said, already feeling more cheered up with the thought of playing Quidditch with his sister.

"One of them is so teaching me how to play Quidditch." Kol spoke.

πŸŒ•πŸŒ•πŸŒ•

"Professor, can I ask you something?" Harry asked as they sat down, while Lupin came back with three cups to drink their tea. Belle was softly purring on Nora's lap as she got petted by her.

"Can I?" Mary asked, nodding her head at Belle.

"Of course." Nora spoke, allowing the woman to pet Belle as well.

"You want to know why I stopped you facing that boggart, yes?" Lupin asked and Harry nodded. "I thought it'd be obvious. I assumed it would take the shape of Lord Voldemort." Remus explained.

Nora and Harry, telling him that they understood. "I did think of Voldemort at first. But then I remembered that night on the train and the dementor."

Nora shook as she thought back about the dementors. Oh, how she hates them.

"I'm very impressed. That suggests what you fear the most is fear itself. This is very wise."

"Before we fainted we both heard something, sir.Β  A woman screaming." Nora spoke. She didn't know why, but she felt like she could trust them and maybe one of them could even explain it to them why they had heard the screams, and not Hermione and Ron or Remus himself.

"Dementors force us to relive our very worst memories. Our pain becomes their power." Mary explained, taking a sip of her tea.

"I think it was my mother the night she was murdered." Harry spoke, making the Professor quiet for a few seconds.

"The very first time I saw you, Harry, I recognized you immediately. Not by your scar, by your eyes. They're your mother, Lily's." Harry looked up at him, surprised. "Yes. Oh, yes. I knew her. Your mother and Nora's mother were there for me at a time when no one else was. Not only was they were singularly gifted witches, they were also uncommonly kind.Β  Both of them had a way of seeing the beauty in others even, and most especially, when that person could not see it in themselves. And your father, James, on the other hand he had a certain, shall we say, talent for trouble. A talent, rumor has it, he passed on to you." Harry's smile turned up even more, hearing this about his parents and aunt. "You're more like them than you know, Harry. In time, you'll come to see just how much."

"Really. I think both Jasmine and Lily were one of the best people I have ever met. They could bring so much comfort." Mary added, seeing how happy hearing about their mothers made her niece andΒ nephew.

"Professor." Nora spoke after a few minutes of silence, not being able to control her question much more.

"Yes, Nora?" Remus and Mary asked at the same moment.

"Did you know my father as well?" The black haired girl asked him. If he knew their mothers and James so well. He must have an idea of who her father was. Even with the slightest new information, she would be happy.

Remus placed his cup down on the table. "I'm sorry, Nora. I wish I could help you but I only know that he was a muggle that she once met." He said, making the hope slowly drift away from her.

"Oh." Nora spoke, taking a sip of her tea, hoping to hide her disappointment as much as possible, even thought she knew that Harry and Remus had seen the look on her face.

"Why did they lie about Sirius?" Finn asked.

"Well, I think that they thought telling her that her father was the person who was coming after them to kill them wasn't the brightest idea." Lily responded.

Elijah's mind was going crazy with thoughts. Did she now think that she was a mistake that happened from a one night stand? Or maybe she thought that he left because he didn't want her or even worse because he hated or didn't like her.

πŸŒ•πŸŒ•πŸŒ•

"Honeyduke's Sweetshop is brilliant, but nothing beats Zonko's Joke Shop." Ron spoke. He had been reporting everything he and Hermione had done today for the last five minutes to the Potters. "We never got to go to the Shrieking Shack. You heard it's the most-"

"-most haunted building in Britain. We know." The Potters finsihed Ron's sentence togther since they heard Hermione say it so many times before. But they weren't focused on Ron and his stories about Hogsmeade anymore when they shared a confused look with each other when they saw the uproar upstairs in front of the portrait of the fat lady.

"What's going on?" Harry asked the others, asking if they had seen anything.

"Probably Neville forgot the password again.

"Hey!" Two voices came from behind Ron.

"Oh, you're there." Ron spoke as he looked over his shoulder at the Longbottom twins.

"Let me through, please. Excuse me! I'm Head Boy! Get back, all of you. No one is to enter this dormitory until it's been searched." They heard Percy Weasley say as he walked down the stairs, also over to the crowd before the opening of the common room.

Ginny came running down, over to them.

"Ginny, what happened?" Nora asked.

"The Fat Lady! She's gone!" The youngest Weasley replied with clear worry.

"Serves her right. She was a terrible singer." Ron spoke, clearly not as worried about the situation as his sister.

"It's not funny, Ron." Nora heard Hermione scold him with anger and worry from behind them.

"Keep calm, everyone. Break into fours. Back to your common room." Percy spoke, trying to keep everyone around him calm.

"Make way! The headmaster is here!" Filch's voice came from ahead of them.

As soon as Dumbledore passed by them, Nora climbed further up the stairs, coming to a stop one step below the Weasley twins and Lee.

Dumbledore stepped closer to the now empty portrait of the Fat Lady, while Mr. Filch, with his cat, started to look around the staircases for any sign of the missing woman.

"Mr. Filch? Round up the ghosts. Tell them to search every painting in the castle to find the Fat Lady." Dumbledore ordered the caretaker, his fingers brushing over the scratches on the painting.

"There's no need for ghosts, professor. The Fat Lady's there." Filch replied, pointing to one of the paintings on one of the other stairs.

Nora was one of the first persons to follow up the stairs behind Dumbledore over to the portrait that the Fat Lady was in. Or at least the one that Filch told them she was in.

"Mind where you're going! Slow down! You listen! I'm Head Boy!" Percy's voice came from somewhere lower on the stairs, but nobody listened to him.

"Dear lady, who did this to you?" Dumbledore asked the Fat Lady, coming to a stop right in front of her new portrait.

"Eyes like the devil, he's got, and a soul as dark as his name. It's him, headmaster. The one they all talk about. He's here, somewhere in the castle! Sirius Black!" The Fat Lady replied, letting out a loud sob.

"Secure the castle, Mr. Filch. The rest of you, to the Great Hall." Dumbledore ordered the caretaker again.

Hermione and Ron who stood beside the Potters didn't miss the way their faces went in direct worry.

"Come on." Hermione spoke, grabbing Nora's hand and making them both go downstairs to the Great Hall.

"How did he get passed the Dementors again?" Caroline asked.

"And how in hell did he get into the school?" Jeremy asked.

"Yeah, isn't that supposed to be one of the safest places in your world?" Bonnie questioned, thinking back about Hagrid's words to the Potters back in their first year.

"By now we know it's not the safest place." Elena answered.

"Okay, but entering the school is one thing, but how did he get all the way up to the Fat Lady without being noticed? Someone must have seen him?" Stefan asked around, but nobody really knew how to answer that question.

"Poor Neville, though. People always thinking that he forgot something." Bonnie spoke.

πŸŒ•πŸŒ•πŸŒ•

"I've searched the Astronomy Tower and the Owlery. There's nothing there." Filch spoke to the headmaster when he returned back to the Great Hall, where now all Gryffindor students were asleep in.

"Thank you." The headmaster replied with a nod.

"The third floor's clear too, sir." Flitwick also informed Dumbledore.

"Very good." Dumbledore replied with yet another nod.

"I've done the dungeons. No sign of Black, nor anywhere else in the castle." Snape added as well.

"I didn't really expect him to linger." Dumbledore spoke.

"Remarkable feat, don't you think?" Snape asked him.

"Quite remarkable, yes." Dumbledore answered.

"Any theories on how he managed it?" Snape continued.

"Many. Each as unlikely as the next."

"You may recall priorΒ to the start of term I expressed concerns about yourΒ appointment of Professor-" Snape was cut off before Harry could know which Professor his least favourite teacher was talking about.

"Not a single professor inside this castle would help Sirius Black enter it. I'mΒ quite convinced the castle is safe. And I'm more than willing to send the students to their houses."

"What about the Potters? Should they be warned?" Snape questioned.

"Perhaps. But for now, let them sleep." Dumbledore came to a stop right next to the Potters. "For in dreams, we enter a world that's entirely our own. Let them swim in the deepest ocean or glide over the highest cloud."

The camera went from Dumbledore and Snape over to the Potters, one pretending and one really asleep in their sleeping bags on the ground.

Harry was in the sleeping bag next to Nora, but on the side she was facing was Fred, who's fingers wereΒ intertwined with hers as the two slept side by side.

"Cuties!" Caroline spoke.
