𝐀𝐓 𝐒𝐎𝐌𝐄 𝐏𝐎𝐈𝐍𝐓 𝐓𝐀𝐋𝐈𝐀 𝐇𝐀𝐃 𝐆𝐑𝐀𝐁𝐁𝐄𝐃 𝐇𝐄𝐑 lasergun and joined the fight. She shot down a couple of ships that flew over her head and had to avoid a couple of attacks.

As the brunette had just grabbed one of Rockets special rocket launchers Peter's voice addressed her from afar.

"Talia, do you have any tape?"

The woman frowned at him in disbelieve before she answered him, "Of course, why wouldn't I?"

Peter smiled at her from the large hole in the stone wall behind him. "Great!"

"I was being sarcastic!", she shouted back at him before she scoffed. Talia shook her head, spun around and shot the rocket at another ship that flew towards her, shooting. "Idiot."

In the background she could still hear his voice, "Drax, do you have any tape?"

"Yeah, scotch tape would work!", he shouted over the shooting sounds.
There was a moment of silence before she could hear his voice again, making her roll her eyes in annoyance.

"Then why did you ask me if Scotch tape would work, if you don't have any!?"

Talia's attention was drawn to Gamora who approached her, shouting for a new gun.

The blond grabbed one form her back and threw it at the green skinned woman, who shot a ship from the sky that flew right behind Talia.

The two looked at each other and Talia gluped before she nodded her head at her green skinned friend, "Thanks."

The two slowly looked up into the sky and saw how a bright orange light shot from their ship, destroying all the Sovereign ships that surrounded it at once.

Talia released a deep breath, she didn't even knew she was holding before suddenly their ship exploded as well, making black smoke float into the sky.

Many debris, who were all burning slowly fell to the ground and
Talia's heart stopped for a short moment as she watched them dropp.

The brunette's surroundings went quiet ignored while she released a loud scream.

"No! Peter!", the brunette cried out loudly, which she immediately stopped as Nebula suddenly landed infront of them.

The blue skinned woman stared at them before her gaze slowly wandered off towards the sky.

Following her gaze, Talia spotted Peter and Yondu slowly flying towards the ground.

Yondu was grabbing onto his arrow and Peter was flying with the help of his jetpack as he gazed up at Yondu, laughing loudly.

"What?", the blue skinned man questioned him irretaded.

"You look like Mary Poppins", Peter stated amused, still looking up at the man. "Is he cool?"

After a moment of silence Peter nodded at him smiling, "Hell yeah! He's cool!"

Yondu smirked before he looked down to the others, "I'm Mary Poppins, y'all!"

The two had finally reached the ground as the rest of the ship collided with the stones, making a gigantic explosion go off behind the group.

Peter had just reached Talia as the fire got larger and the two gazed into each other's eyes as if they would never see each other again.

The other's quickly joined them, and they all formed a circle, before Mantis suddenly got hit by a debri against the head.

"Mantis, look out!", Drax shouted at the unconcussioned woman loudly. But before Talia could make a comment about that the bluish bright light came back, making the earth underneath their feet shake.

"She's just unconcussioned", Drax informed the others as he grabbed Mantis and lifted her up carefully.

"How long till the bomb goes off?", Peter questioned Rocket as he joined him.

"Under the unlikely event that Groot dosen't kill us all- about six minutes", the raccoon answered him as he looked at the bright light that now consumed the stones above their head, making them crack open.

"Kraglin, we need the quadrant for an extraction. T-minus five minutes!", Yondu spoke into his transmitter.

"Aye, Captain!", Kraglin's voice answered him immediately from the other side.

They all looked up towards the cracking celling, "Somebody gotta be up top when Kraglin arrives! Drax, take Mantis!"

Peter placed his jetpack from his back onto Drax's, making the man scream while he flew away, "Ow! My nipples!"

Suddenly the ground beneath their feet started to break away, making Gamora suddenly fall into the darkness, screaming loudly.

"Gamora!", Talia shouted after her friend shocked but in the same second Nebula jumped after her sister.

The brunette's eyes widened before her attention was caught by the stone behind her, which had changed into a gigantic face.

"Come now Peter. I know this isn't what you want! What kind of father would I be if I let you make this choice?", Ego questioned him while his bluish-bright energy tentacles surrounded Yondu, Rocket and Talia.

Peter started shooting angryly at Ego's face while Talia shot several times at the tentacle that wanted to grab her.

"Soon, Peter, we will be all there is. So stop pissing me off!", the man screamed at Peter before the brunette man and Talia were hit away by the tentacles.

The brunette hit the ground with her head and groaned as she rolled over onto her back.

The blood was dripping from the cuts on her forehead. She felt dizzy and just as she was about to sit up a tentacle hit her and pressed the brunette to the ground.

She let out a loud scream as she felt the pressure that was put onto her body.

"I told you I don't want to do this alone. You can't deny the purpose the universe has been upon you!", Ego shouted at Peter angryly while he approached his son.

Suddenly some of the energy tentacles stabbed Peter into the chest, his back and his head, consuming his power.

"It dosen't need to be like this Peter. Why are you destroying our chance? Stop pretending you aren't what you are. One in billions. Trillions. Even more. What greater meaning can life possibly have to offer?", Ego questioned him sceptical as he eyed Peter.

"I don't use my head to fly the arrow, boy! I use my heart!", Yondu shouted over at Peter before the stone had burried him completely.

Peter's gaze wandered from Yondu slowly back to Ego. He balled his fists and after a moment the sand started moving along his legs.

The blue light got brighter by the second and Peter stared at Ego in anger, "You shouldn't have killed my mom and squashed my Walkman!"

After he had finished his last word the man shot forward and attacked Ego immediately.

In that moment the tentacle let go of Talia and the brunette felt how the pressure disappeared from her chest, making her gasp for air.

The brunette sat up quickly as she placed a hand on her chest, breathing heavily.

As Rocket approached her, Talia got onto her feet and quickly activated her aero-rig before she flew into the air, joining him.

"Yondu, we're about to blow!", the raccoon informed the blue skinned man.

"Get to the ship", Yondu answered him demanding. "Not without Quill!", Rocket stated seriously as he shook his head.

"You need to take care of the twig!", the man argued with him and Rocket shook his head again, "Not without you!"

Talia was the one who now spoke up, "Rocket, I'm not going without Peter!"

The raccoon and the blue skinned man looked at her before Yondu shook his head at her, "I ain't done nothing good my whole damn life, girl. You need to give me this."

Talia stared at the man infront of her sceptical, but at some point the blond finally gave in. "Just make it back in time!"

Rocket grabbed a package from his pocket and handed it to the man, "A spacesuit and and aero-rig. I only have one of each."

Yondu nodded at him before Groot spoke up, "I am Groot."

"What's that?", Yondu questioned curiously as he frowned at them.

"He saying, welcome to the frickin' Guardians of the Galaxy! Only he didn't use frickin'", The raccoon stated as he nodded his head in agreement at the blue skinned man.

Talia smiled at the man sadly before she nodded her head at him in silence, which he did too.

They all exchanged one last look before Talia, Rocket and Groot turned and flew away. "Bye, twig!"

"We're gonna need to have a real discussion about your language", Rocket stated as he peeked at Groot, who sat on his shoulder, shrugging carelessly.

As the three finally arrived by the ship, Gamora and Nebula already awaited them, next to a still unconcussioned Mantis.

"Where's Peter?", Gamora questioned them immediately and Talia looked out of the ship, worrying about if Yondu and Peter would make it back in time.

"Rocket, where is he?", Gamora questioned the raccoon louder than she had before.

The raccoon looked onto his monitor, making Gamota go nuts. "Rocket, look at me! Where is he?"

The raccoon silently shook his head as the green woman shook her head and looked over at Talia.

"They will come", the brunette stated stubborn as she stared out onto the destroyed landscape.

They all exchanged a worried look before Rocket sighed and shook his head at the brunette.

"They are not going to make it!", Gamora explained to her and Talia shook her head, "No, I'm not going without him."

She quickly grabbed a gun that leaned against the wall and prepared herself to jump out of the ship before suddenly a electro shock went through her whole body.

The brunette fell to the ground unconcussioned and Rocket quietly sighed to himself, "Sorry, but I can only afford to lose one friend today."

"Kraglin, go!"

The group could hear Drax shouting from above, asking if Quill was there, but Rocket just ignored his screams as the doors slowly closed.

𝐖𝐇𝐄𝐍 𝐓𝐀𝐋𝐈𝐀 𝐀𝐖𝐎𝐊𝐄 𝐋𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐃𝐀𝐘 𝐈𝐍 her quarter, Gamora sat besides her bed, sharpening her sword silently.
The brunette immediately shot up from her laying position as her eyes were widely opened.

"Peter!" She spotted Gamora in the chair as she quickly jumped onto her feet. "Gamora, where's Peter?"

The green skinned woman slowly stood up as she placed a hand on Talia's shoulder and pushed her back onto the bed.

"Calm down, Talia. He's safe", the green woman assured her as she gave her shoulder a squeeze.

Talia exhaled deeply before her face expression suddenly darkened, "I'm gonna kill that stupid rodent." The blond got onto her feet again before rushing out of the room, followed by Gamora.

She dashed through the ship corridor, that lead to the main area until she spotted Rocket standing casually next to Peter.

The brunette reached the raccoon and grabbed him by his back and raised him into the air. "I'm gonna kill you you little basta-"

Rocket let out a scream but before Talia could finish her scentence, her gaze fell onto Yondu's lifeless body, laying on the table infront of her.

Her hands immediately let go of Rocket before her gaze slowly wandered off to Peter, who had tears in his eyes as he stared at the blue skinned man in slience.

Peter placed the last flower onto the mans body before they all silently took their places around the table.

"I told Talia how when I was a kid I used to pretend David Hasselhoff was my dad", Peter told the group, still looking down at the body.

Rocket and Drax exchanged a questioning look. "He's a singer and actor from Earth, really famous guy. Earlier, it struck me-"

There was silence before he continued, "Yondu didn't have a talking car, but he did have a flying arrow. He didn't have the beautiful voice of an angel- but he did have the whistle of one. Both Yondu and David Hasselhoff went to kick-ass adventures and hooked up with hot women- and fought robots."

Talia watched him with sad eyes, "I guess David Hasselhoff did kind of end up being my dad after all. Only it was you, Yondu."

Tali watched how a tear made it's way down his cheek as she placed a hand on his shoulder.

"I had a pretty cool dad. What I am trying to say here is- sometimes that thing you're searching for your whole life, it's right there by your side all along. You don't even know it."

Her heart was aching for the man besides her and a tear was slowly rolling down her cheek. And in that very momen, Talia finally realized that there indeed was, an unspoken thing between the two of them.

The blond let her gaze slowly wander over to Gamora, who looked at Nebula sadly. The blue skinned woman saw her gaze and quickly left the room, making Gamora follow after her in a hurry.

"I am Groot", Groot said as he looked at Yondu's body. "He did call you twig", Rocket stated as he looked at his friend.

When Gamora was back from her conversation with Nebula, they burned Yondu's body and sent him out into space as tiny little glowing pieces.

As Talia looked out of the window she was amazed by how beautiful it all looked. A sad smile made it's way onto her face as she thought about Yondu's and Peter's relationship.

Suddenly hundereds of space ships appeared in the dark sky, right in front of their ship, "What is happening?"

"I sent word to Yondu's old Ravager buddies, and told them what he did", Rocket informed the others as they all watched the ships come closer and closer.

"It's a Ravager funeral", Peter exclaimed from besides Talia as Groot suddenly jumped onto her shoulder. The blond smiled at the little tree as outside the colourfull fireworks went off.

"He didn't chase them away", Rocket stated with tears in his eyes as he stared out of the window.

"No."

"Even though he yelled at them. And was always mean. And he stole batteries he didn't need", the raccoon said as his gaze wandered off towards the ground.

The brunette man looked at him surprised, "Well, of courss not."

Talia handed Groot carefully over to Gamora before her head turned back to Peter.

Her eyes lingered on his side profile before the man looked at her as well and smiled. "What?"

"It's just-", she stopped while her eyes wandered towards his eyes. "-some unspoken thing."

The two looked at each other for a very long moment and at last Talia got onto her tip toes as she slowly pressed a gentle kiss onto his lips.

Peter's eyes widened immediately as he quickly placed a hand onto her hips, pulling her closer towards his vody and kissed her back passionately.

The two remained that way for a few more seconds before Talia leaned back again. Peter's arm was still around her waist and she leaned into his body while watching the fireworks.

"It's beautiful", Mantis stated amazed while she watched the fireworks and Drax nodded his head in agreement before he spoke up, "So are you- on the inside."

Talia couldn't contain a smile from forming on her lips as she listened to her friends. Everything she had ever wanted was right there.
