⊹₊ ⋆ THE DATE WITH ALICE AND MELANIE WENT better than expected, especially with the tension that filled the car that night. The group of immortals, minus Edward, were all sat in the school cafeteria pretending to eat as the usually did when Alice and Melanie were making there way towards them.

"Hey, where's Edward?" Melanie asked as she took a seat next to her wife.

"We don't know," Rosalie mumbled.

"I saw him walk into the woods with the human." Caroline grinned.

"What's he doing with her?" Rosalie sneered through gritted teeth.

"Why don't we find out?" Emmett says with a grin almost going from ear to ear.

"Oh no," Melanie spoke up instantly already knowing what her brother in law was thinking. "I do not want to know what's going through his head when he's with her." She whisper yells across the table.

"Come on. Don't be such a party pooper." He laughed loudly in response.

Melanie looked to Jasper who simply just shrugged telling her to do what she wants.

"Please." He begs again attempting puppy dog eyes. "For me."

"Ugh, fine." She snaps causing him to grin. The Denali girl closes her eyes in an attempt to help her concentrate until she found him and Bella, tapping into her powers more she was able to hear what both the vampire and the human was thinking.

That it's self would piss Edward off, the fact that she could hear Bella's thought and he couldn't. Or maybe it was the fact that he knew she wouldn't tell him anything she was thinking just to piss him off more.

"I wanted to kill you." She heard Edward say which made her frown in confusion. "I've never wanted a human's blood so much in my life." He continued.

Melanie pressed her lips together trying to control her anger.

"I trust you." Bella states.

"Don't."

"I'm here. I trust you." Bella says moving forwards slightly before Edward speeds away. That was enough for Melanie, She didn't want to hear anymore. Melanie's eyes pierced open, the once topaz with mixed red eyes were now pitch black in anger. Jasper could feet the rage practically oozing out of his sister in law.

"What is it?" The empath asks.

"She knows." That was all Melanie says looking up from her fists that were balled up to her family who each had a different emotion plastered on their faces.

Rosalie had anger which was as lethal as Melanie's, Jasper and Caroline both had a shock on their faces but otherwise not too bothered by it. Emmett and Alice both had concern on their faces. Not because Bella found out but because of how angry their mates were.

The fact they were in school, filled with humans didn't ease their concern either, in fact, it made it worse.

Luckily for the family, and most importantly for the humans, the two raging bulls didn't do anything stupid, instead, they both stood up speed walking out of the building.

Probably on their way to kill Edward.

"How could you!" Melanie shouted at the younger vampire pushing him slightly in the chest causing him to trip backwards but luckily he caught himself before he fell.

"What are you talking about?" Edward stutterer. Oh, he's deciding to play stupid, Melanie thought.

"You know fine well what she is talking about," Rosalie yelled. "What? Did you think we wouldn't find out?"

"Find out what?" Edward replied.

"What's going on here?" Esme chimed in as her Carlisle walked into the living room together were the argument was taking place.

"Why don't you tell her Edward?" Melanie said crossing her arms over her chest.

"I have no idea what they are talking about." Edward rolled his eyes looking at his adoptive father with a pleading look.

"Well, why don't you tell us, Melanie?" Esme suggested.

"Oh happily," Melanie announced. "Edward, being the amazing person he is, decided to put us all in danger." The words Melanie spoke made Edward's eyes widen, finally realising what she had found out.

"You read my mind?!" Edward seethed.

"You do it to us all the time what's the difference," Rosalie growled at her adoptive brother.

"You know I can't help it!"

"It was supposed to be a joke! Emmett wanted to know what you and your little human were doing in the woods. We were expecting use to be making out or being all flirty. He wasn't expecting me to find out you told the human that we were all vampires" Melanie yelled causing Esme to gasp and Carlisle's eyes to widen.

There are laws in the vampire world. As stupid as it seems they are, there wasn't many but they were important.

Hunts must be inconspicuous, victims who were unlikely to be missed and their remains must be disposed of and the territory must be changed often.

Incapable of self-control and therefore a threat of exposure. Immortal children are not to be created. Such creation is the ultimate taboo and punishable by death to both child, creator and those who defend the child and those who know of its existence.

Dealing with werewolves or shapeshifters, except for the purpose of extermination, is prohibited.

False witness, regardless of the intent is also punishable by death.

Hunting is forbidden in the Volterra, the town is the residence of the Volturi.

Attention should not be drawn and vampires should not be noticed in open sunlight.

The creator is responsible for its newborn's behaviour and teaching the laws before they can be released on their own.

And lastly, a vampire's interaction with humans must not draw wide attention. If a human becomes aware of them, the vampires at fault would be responsible for silencing that human. This mostly leads to two options: make the human join the immortals or silence that human permanently.

Of course, Edward would never turn Bella, and he also would never kill her. Meaning if the Volturi found out, they would kill not only her but the rest of the coven too.

"She won't tell anyone," Edward revealed.

"That doesn't matter! It's illegal." Rosalie replied.

"Humans aren't supposed to know, we will all be in danger if anyone finds out about this," Melanie yelled once more. Alice who had walked in with the rest of the family placed her hand on her wife's shoulder in an attempt to calm her down.

"Unless you turn her Edward there is only one other solution," Melanie says, Rosalie nodding in agreement knowing what the girl was getting at.

"No one will be killing Bella!" Edward snarled, after hearing what the older girl had thought he lets his anger take over. speeding towards Melanie, grabbing her by the throat and through the front door.

As soon as they got outside because unlike Edward, Melanie respected Esme and knew it would be her to have to clean everything up, she grabbed ahold of Edward's right arm that was holding her throat and pulled it off her.

Holding the same hand she flipped him over her back and onto the ground, using her magic to keep him in place.

The rest of the family had sped out to see what was going on when they saw Melanie's eyes glowing red as she continued to keep Edward in place on the ground.

"That's enough," Carlisle yelled as he sped over, pulling Melanie away from Edward and into Alice's hold then holding his adoptive son in place when he tried to once again run for Melanie.

Alice placed both of her hands on Melanie's stone-cold face speaking sweet words in an attempt to calm her down.

"Let's go hunt, okay?" Alice whispered, taking a hold of Melanie's hand as the sped into the woods together.

Not returning until later on that night.
