Long story short, I allowed myself to be self indulgent for once: I saw this exact jacket at a mall I went to around 2019 (?? I think??) and it immediately struck me as something you'd see at Starcourt, so I got it. (I also personally just love most bright things that dont hurt my )

Later on, when I got to the mall rats scene I was trying to think of a relatively universal thing for Y/n to get--realized Max had bought sunglasses, so that was out. So jackets it was. I let myself write in my jacket for fun cause it felt like it matched the colorful neon vibes s3 had (its also insanely comfortable) The picture makes the colors look brighter than they are irl--and they're definitely more relaxed, but still neon and fun imo
