The bass thumped through the walls of the crowded club, a steady pulse that vibrated through the floor and into the soles of Jake's shoes. Neon lights flickered, casting an electric glow over the dance floor, where bodies moved in rhythm, lost in the music. The air was thick with the scent of sweat, perfume, and excitement, a cocktail of sensations that filled Jake with a strange mix of exhilaration and unease.
He pushed through the throng, his eyes scanning the dimly lit corners of the room. Somewhere in this chaos, he knew he was there. His heart quickened at the thought of seeing him, his smile lighting up the shadowy space like a beacon. He brushed a strand of hair from his face, hoping he looked as confident as he tried to feel.
But as he made his way toward the bar, a shiver ran down his spine. He could feel eyes on him, an unsettling presence that made the back of his neck prickle with anxiety. He glanced over his shoulder, but the sea of faces offered no clues. He was just one person among many, yet the feeling of being watched was impossible to shake.
Ignoring the unease, Jake focused on his goal. He reached the bar and scanned the room again, searching for him. Little did he know, in the shadows, someone else was watching his every move, waiting for the perfect moment to step out of the darkness.
"Anything you want, sir?" a sudden male voice came from behind him.
"AH? Oh, yeah! Uh...a cocktail, please," he said without even turning around to face the barman.
"What kind of?" the man screamed.
"AH?" Jake could not hear him as the music was loud.
"I SAID, WHAT KIND OF?" the barman repeated.
"OHHH, any! Anything would work!" he said and smiled.
Jake continued to look into the crowd. He was still searching for his beloved Park Sunghoon, who had not attended the church ceremony for the fourth time. Jake had an obsession over him. Sunghoon was famous at the university as a shy Christian boy who went to church every single Sunday. Many university students saw him in the front of the crowd right at the monastery.
"He is so polite."
"He goes to church every Sunday, wow!"
"Boys these days are not like him!"
"Does he have a girlfriend?"
Jake heard thousands of good comments about him. But he never said anything like that to his fans. He just loved the fame and let it be. He was not only popular for being an open Christian but also the best friend of the famous face, or for being good at singing. Everybody at his university loved him. However, who would ever know that Jake was not what he seemed? Who would imagine that he was not a believer in God, but actually an atheist? Or that he was not polite at all, but slightly a psychopath? A male that went to church just to see his three-year crush, Park Sunghoon. Everyone knew he was a straight guy, but from the beginning, he was attracted to the same gender.
Jake was very handsome. He had a youthful and charming appearance, characterized by his expressive eyes and warm smile. He had a slim build and was known for his stylish and often trendy fashion sense. His hair was black, and he loved to do an undercut since it really suited him. That night, Jake wore a black blazer over a white shirt and black tight jeans. The thing was, he was not even bothered that someone might see him this drunk.
"Here is your cocktail, sir." The barman was about to leave to serve another person when Jake grabbed his collar and brought him close. The barman was shocked at Jake's behavior but did not react. He was well-balanced.
"Although I cannot see your face..." Jake smiled idiotically, "I can still say that you remind me of someone and that you are really cute."
The man did not respond for a second but then whispered, "Then why don't you take me somewhere?"
When Jake was about to say something, he heard his name from the crowd. "JAKE! YOU MOTHERFUCKER, STOP THIS!"
Jake let the barman go as he turned around. "WONIEEE!" he screamed loudly as he saw his best friend Jungwon. Yes, he was the famous face mentioned earlier.
Yang Jungwon was his childhood friend. They grew up together because their families liked to visit each other. They always knew about each other's deepest and the darkest secrets. Jake told Jungwon everything, and the same went for the younger one. Himself Jungwon was from the wealthy family always ready to satisfy their child's needs. Jungwon was shorter in height but looked more manly than Jake, but that did not bother Jake since they were both into the same gender. Jungwon had dark brown hair, mainly in dark grey hoodie that covered his cat looking eyes so that no one would recognise him there. The most girls in their university were attracted to his broad shoulders and light personality that was surprisingly unique. He could be both chaotic and calm. That depended on the situation. So now Jake was standing in front of his best friend and waving lightly.
"SHUT YOUR MOUTH AND LET'S GO" he grabbed Jake as the older was about to fall after wanting to stand. " I am so sorry sir.."
The barman smiled mysteriously as he nodded. Jungwon tried to drag Jake out of the club. "Fuck you are heavy !" he whined as they finally went out of the bar.
"WONIEEE, YOU DID NOT LET ME FLIRT WITH THAT CUTE GUY"
Jungwon dragged him inside his own luxury car that stayed on the other side. "You better thank me later for saving your ass virginity" he said as he closed the door wildly and sat himself at the driver seat.
"Wait ! Jungwon !" Jake shouted as Jungwon was about to drive "STOP!"
"What again?" Jungwon turned around annoyed
Jake touched his all his pockets and looked at Jungwon " I FORGOT MY PHONE THERE"
"Are you fucking kidding me ?? We will get back tomorrow after the classes, but RIGHT NOW I AM NOT GOING BACK THERE AGAIN. DO YOU EVEN KNOW HOW MUCH I SPENT TIME TO LOOK FOR YOUR ASS IN WHOLE CLUBS OF THE TOWN?"
Jake whined and started to bit his legs against the door as he was laying on the back seat. "Fine!!!"
"Because of you I ran away again.." he whispered to himself. " Dad will kill me you know?? And that asshole Jay as well" he looked back to see Jake's reaction however he was already sleeping. Jungwon sighed and looked back at the road as he started to drive.
"At least he did not vomit in my car"
