Two faces same person

Jake's eyes locked onto Sunghoon's as he stepped out of the bathroom, the world around them fading into the background. They stared at each other for a long moment, neither of them moving. Sunghoon's expression was blank, revealing nothing of what he might be thinking.

Jake's heart raced. He tilted his head slightly, squinting as if trying to see through a haze. Was this another hallucination? The uncertainty gnawed at him, twisting his perception of reality. The tension built until it felt like the air itself was vibrating.

Then, without warning, Jake started to laugh. The sound echoed through the empty hall, loud and unrestrained. He clutched his sides, bending over as the laughter shook his body.

"Another one," he managed to gasp between fits of laughter. "I'm really losing it."

Sunghoon's eyes widened slightly, a flicker of confusion crossing his otherwise stoic face. He watched Jake with an unreadable expression, unsure of how to react to the outburst.

Jake's laughter gradually subsided, and he straightened up, wiping tears from his eyes. He took a deep breath, trying to steady himself. When he looked at Sunghoon again, the uncertainty was still there, but the laughter had brought a momentary clarity.

"Are you real?" Jake asked, his voice quieter now, almost a whisper.

Sunghoon didn't respond immediately. He just stood there, watching Jake with that same impassive gaze. The silence stretched between them, heavy with unspoken questions.

Jake's heart pounded in his chest. He reached out tentatively, his hand trembling as he moved it towards Sunghoon, needing to know if this was real.

"What are you doing?" coldly asked Sunghoon as he stepped back.

"So you ARE real?" Jake narrowed his eyes and moved away the hand. Sunghoon did not say anything again. Jake laughed again

"W...What are you laughing at?" Sunghoon asked with already little panic in his eyes.

"Don't believe noooo, I don't" Jake arced his back backward and put his hand on his forehead like a psycho. "I am going crazy ! JUST going crazy. I have not seen you for a while and right now I am seeing you in front of me in my OWN university. Don't tell me you actually study here. Or worse, TURNING TO MY TEACHER?" Jake grabbed his stomach laughing

"But I am actually..." Sunghoon was about to say something when he heard footsteps. "I need to go now" he said and left by the corner. Jake was still laughing when he turned around and saw the principal.

'Huh?" the older raised an eyebrow. "Sim Jake what are you doing here huh? And at what are you laughing at?" he said with an unsatisfied tone.

Jake was speechless as everything seemed so serious now.

"Uh..."

"He is with me sir" Jungwon said from the back as he came back. The principal turned around and a huge smile appeared on his face. "Jungwooonnn, and you are here too? It's time to go home now you know? Your father be waiting for you. How's your career processing ?"

"Fine" he said shortly and grabbed Jake's arm "Let's go now Jake hyung" he said and pushed him to stairs. "Bye sir!"

"Bye-bye Jungwon...TELL YOUR FATHER I SAID "HI""

Jake and Jungwon walked slowly through the bustling streets, the noise of the city wrapping around them like a heavy blanket. The air was thick with the sounds of honking cars, distant chatter, and the occasional shout. Neon signs flickered overhead, casting colorful reflections on the wet pavement from the recent rain.

Jungwon kept his hood up, the fabric casting a shadow over his face. He moved with a deliberate caution, avoiding eye contact with anyone they passed. Jake could sense his friend's tension, his own nerves jangling in response.

They kept to the edges of the sidewalks, weaving through the throngs of people. Jake stole glances at Jungwon, noting how his friend's posture was hunched, his steps quick and purposeful. The celebrity life was a heavy burden, and Jungwon's desire to remain unnoticed was palpable.

"Do you think anyone saw you walking?" Jake asked quietly, his voice barely audible above the city's din.

Jungwon shook his head slightly. "I don't think so. Just keep walking."

Jake nodded, following Jungwon's lead. The club wasn't far now, just a few more blocks. The closer they got, the more Jake's anticipation grew. He needed to find his phone.

As they turned a corner, the familiar neon sign of the club came into view. The streets here were a bit quieter, the crowd thinner. Jake felt a small measure of relief, but he could still feel the eyes of the city on them, a constant pressure that never seemed to fade.

"Almost there," Jungwon murmured, his gaze fixed straight ahead.

Jake kept his head down, matching his pace to Jungwon's. The club's entrance loomed ahead, a beacon in the night. They quickened their steps, eager to reach the relative safety of its shadowy interior. Finally, they stood before the club's door. Jake glanced around one last time, ensuring no one was paying them any undue attention. He exchanged a look with Jungwon, who nodded, and together they slipped inside, leaving the noisy streets behind.

As Jake and Jungwon stepped into the club, the atmosphere was calm, almost serene, with a quiet anticipation hanging in the air. The usual thumping bass and pulsing lights were absent, leaving the space in an unusual stillness.

Dim, ambient lighting cast a soft glow over the interior, highlighting the polished bar and the rows of empty tables and chairs. The dance floor, typically packed with bodies moving in sync to the music, was now a vacant expanse, its surface gleaming under the sparse lighting.

A few staff members moved about, preparing for the night ahead. They arranged chairs, wiped down tables, and stocked the bar with bottles and glasses, their movements purposeful yet unhurried. The smell of cleaning products mingled with a faint, lingering scent of spilled alcohol, a reminder of last night's revelry.

The DJ booth was unoccupied, its equipment silent and waiting. Occasionally, the faint sound of a glass clinking or a chair scraping across the floor broke the quiet, adding to the subdued ambiance.

Jake and Jungwon walked further into the club, their footsteps echoing softly on the floor. The familiar space felt almost foreign in this calm, a stark contrast to the chaotic energy that would soon fill it.

"Feels weird, doesn't it?" Jake remarked quietly, glancing around.

Jungwon nodded. "Yeah, it's like a different place."

They made their way to the bar, where a lone bartender was arranging bottles on the shelves. He looked up as they approached, recognizing them immediately.

"Back already?" he asked with a slight smile. "Lost something last night?"

Jake nodded. "Yeah, my phone. Did anyone turn it in?"

The bartender shook his head. "Haven't seen it, but you're welcome to check around."

Jake sighed, glancing at Jungwon. "Guess we'll have to look."

Together, they began their search, moving through the calm, dimly lit club, hoping to find Jake's missing phone before the night's chaos began anew.

Jake and Jungwon methodically searched the dimly lit club, starting with the bar area. They checked under stools and around tables, peeking into nooks and crannies where the phone might have slipped away.

"Let's check the booths," Jungwon suggested, pointing towards the seating area along the walls.

They walked over to the booths, the soft glow from the ambient lighting casting long shadows. Jake slid into one of the seats, feeling around the cushions and underneath the table. Nothing.

Jungwon moved to the next booth, mimicking Jake's actions. He bent down, his fingers brushing against something hard and rectangular wedged between the seat and the wall.

"I think I found it," Jungwon called out, his voice tinged with relief.

Jake hurried over as Jungwon pulled out the phone, holding it up triumphantly. The screen lit up with a soft glow, confirming it was indeed Jake's missing phone.

"Thank God," Jake sighed, taking the phone from Jungwon. "I thought it was gone for good."

Jungwon smiled. "Now let's quickly get out! I cannot let anyone see me here !"

They made their way towards the exit, the calm atmosphere of the club still enveloping them. As they went out Jake sighed.

"Imagine if I have lost it?" Jake laughed ironically

"That would be something Jakey" Jungwon laughed. "But that wouldn't be a problem since I could buy you a new one"

"No need. I found it" he shook the phone in the air.

"Also Jungwon!" Jake said while looking at the phone. It had a low battery. 13 percent.

"Hm? What is it?"

"I cannot believe I actually flirted with that guy. He wasn't THAT attractive, but I would say he was SO cute" Jake laughed and put his phone in his pocket. Jungwon stopped smiling for a while and thought about something. Jake frowned suddenly as well.

"What happened?"

"Jake" Jungwon said starring at one point. "It wasn't him"

"Huh?" Jake raised his both eyebrows. "What do you mean "It wasn't him"?"

"The bartender that you have flirted with, had dark purple hair and...glasses. Not like him. He was blonde and shorter. The guy you flirted with was taller than anyone else in the club" Jungwon looked at confused Jake.

"Maybe you just misunderstood the hair colour during the lights in the night" Jake said. "After all he recognised us both"

Jungwon thought for a second. "I think you are right, but still...their faces are different as well"

"Oh cmon ! Okay, maybe I have flirted with another guy so what ? There is no need to think about it" Jake tapped Jungwon's shoulder.

"I am just scared...what he tells everyone that Yang Jungwon was in the club? Oh, Jake , dad will end me if he sees the breaking news" Jungwon closed his eyes with both hands.

"Nothing will happen, he won't tell anyone ! It's not going to benefit him in anything at least if he is not a hater of course"

"Okay, okay, can we.. shit, I don't even want to go home right now" Jungwon humped and looked away. "I have missed like...two day schedule, I can imagine how crazy it is in our house now" Jungwon laughed.

"Okay fine..." Jake looked at the sky that was darkening. "Wonie...I had to go home now...I have something to do"

"What is it?" Jungwon tilted his head as Jake seemed dreamy.

"Some university stuff for tomorrow" Jake smiled. "Okay see you tomorrow and Jungwon..." He grabbed both Jungwon's shoulders "Be careful"

Jungwon just smiled at this. "You know you won't get away from me. I will be okay. As always"

Jake hugged Jungwon tightly and same did the younger. At this point Jake stopped hugging and ran away waving goodbye to Jungwon.

Jungwon stayed there alone and waved back to Jake even tho Jake turned to another corner. For some seconds he just stood like this as he put his both hands in his pockets.

Soon as he started to walk to the other side, Jungwon was greeted by the cool touch of a light breeze. The evening air was crisp, carrying with it the fresh scent of rain-soaked earth and the subtle fragrance of autumn leaves.

The sky was a deepening shade of blue, stars beginning to peek through the thinning clouds. Streetlights cast a soft, warm glow on the wet pavement, reflecting the shimmering light in small puddles scattered along the road. The gentle rustling of leaves in the trees overhead added to the serene ambiance, a stark contrast to the bustling noise of the city around them.

As he walked, the breeze playfully tousled his hair, providing a refreshing counterpoint to the lingering humidity from the earlier rain. The night felt alive yet peaceful, a perfect balance of nature's quiet beauty and the city's constant hum.

As soon as Jungwon arrived back to the station he noticed Riki-his bodyguard, leaning against the luxury car and waiting for him.

For the last time he did an exhale and said loudly.

"Riki ! Let's go home "
