y/n's point of view:

GRIPPING ONTO MY LIGHT BLUE BACKPACK STRAPS, careful with my thumbs as I didn't want to sprout plants from my new bag, I hurriedly pulled myself closer towards the classroom.

Today was my first day of preschool! Where kids like me can meet and become friends with everyone! A place where everyone will be happy, and also where I can

...show everyone my quirk!

Rather than putting me into an elite school with the other hero descendants, my mother had decided to put me into an average, local one as not to attract excess media attention. And to be completely honest, I don't really care about that stuff because either way, I'd be making friends! FRIENDS! I've read so many novels and picture books about kids like me befriending each other on their very first day of encounter, and staying in the happy relationship until the very end.

They go through thick and thin, sharing juicy secrets, helping with each other's homework, hang out, have sleepovers, and ultimately creating unforgettable memories together! I've always found myself daydreaming of having a best friend. Maybe we can even make friendship bracelets or have one of those matching best friend necklaces!

Turning around the corner, the door to my new class appeared. Stopping a few feet away from the doorway, I curiously leaned towards the door and listened in to the laughter and chatter seeping through the wooden plank that was separating me from my future classmates.

'Hmm... this kid had pancakes for breakfast? Lucky~

Huh? He still wears diapers to sleep, pfTt.'

As time tics by, my back began to grow heavier and heavier from the awkward position I was standing at.

'Ouch, maybe I shouldn't be standing like that and just go in already.

WAIT

OH MY GOD HAD I JUST BEEN STANDING THERE LIKE A CREEPY PERSON FOR SO LONG MY BACK GOT SORE?'

I inwardly face-palmed myself and readjusted my straps so its wasn't digging into my shoulder. Deciding that it was about time, I took a deep breath in through my nose and placed my clammy hands onto the door knob. 'Alright, let's do this!'

Anxiously, I swinged the door open and stepped into the classroom, peering at my classmates. Weirdly, all the chattering had stopped the moment I strolled in. They just continued to stare at me with their scorching, curious gazes burning straight through my skull. I couldn't determine wether the stares were there to judge me or not, but I averted my views to the floor anyway to avoid any possible eye contact.

Brushing off the multiple pairs of eyes, I continued to wander to the front of the room and peered at the paper at the stadium, scouring through the foreign names in search of my own. Landing my eyes towards the left, I glanced back up and scanned the lined wooden desks before striding towards my seat. My long luscious white hair followed gracefully behind me, bouncing ever so slightly after each little step.

I plopped into the seat and shoved my backpack underneath my desk. Not long after, a mob of students appeared to surround me. A blur of sounds produced to channel through my ears, making it difficult for me to pick up on any words.

"AHHh, you look so pretty!"

"Hey, come to play at my house sometimes. I can show you my hero cards collection!"

Feeling a bit overwhelmed, my eyes darted quickly, flipping through the many unfamiliar faces, attempting to answer some before being rudely interrupted by another. Defeated, I quickly gave up, letting out a heavy, helpless sigh and pouted. 'Geezus All Might, do they even want me to answer? Let me talk!'

Another sigh escaped from my lips, growing more and more uncomfortable by the second, I began sliding my bottom further down the plastic chair, leaving only half of my upper torso above my desk. Crossing my arms over my chest, I huffed a loose strand of hair away from my eyes. 'I guess I'll just sit here then.'

"What's your quirk?" A voice suddenly asked.

Everyone grew quiet, hearing the commonly asked question directed towards me. 'I guess they were all curious enough about that to shut up, huh.'

I peered over the questioner with a small smile. "Nature's Touch, if I touch anything with all of my fingers, plants would grow out from the surface." Demonstrating, I opened my backpack and pulled out my pencil case. Taking out an eraser cap, I placed all five fingers on the lid. A dandelion began sprouting from the said cap, earning series of oos' and aahs' from my classmates.

"That's so COOL!"

"Man, I wished I had a cool quirk like that."

"Oh, right, what's your name?" the same questionnaire inquired.

"Matsu, Y/n Matsu," I replied sheepishly.

Saying my name to my classmates might've been a wrong decision on my part. Just typing in my last name into Google is enough to learn about all the countless scandals over the years that my mother had done. But it's not like they would judge me for it, right? I technically had nothing to do with most of them, and I mean, my mom didn't say I couldn't say my name, so I don't see the harm in it... not yet at least.

"Nice to meet you Matsu, I hope we can be REALLY good friends in the future!" the questionnaire beamed. I smiled in reply. 'I hope so too.'

Class began, and everyone shuffled back to their seat. Nothing noteworthy happened really, time rolled around relatively fast. Not long after our third class of the day, the bell ringed, signaling that it was time for lunch.

People huddled around my desk once again, inviting me to sit with them for lunch. I learned a few names too, including the questionnaire's; her name was Uraraka Ochaco. Her bright, friendly smile always seemed to light up the whole classroom effortlessly. It wasn't hard to make up my mind and decide that I'd be sitting with her for the time being, or maybe even the rest of the year. We talked about many things; food, our likes, and dislikes, and even our favorite heroes! Is this what it feels like having a friend?

Placing my tiny, plastic fork on my bento, I turned around to face Uraraka and called out her name.

"Yeah, Matsu-chan?" Uraraka tilted her head, her mouth still stuffed with her lunch, resembling a tiny chipmunk.

Shyly, I glanced down at my shoes, allowing strands of my loose white hair to cover parts my face. "Do you...want to be best friends?" I asked.

Instantly, she bounced up and down her seat in response, her umber eyes gleamed so brightly I had to shield my eyes with my hands. 'Since when was she standing in front of the sun?'

"Of course Matsu-chan! I was gonna ask you if you could too!"

Confused, it was now my turn to tilt my head to the side, brushing the white strands behind my ears. "R-really?"

"Yeah! You seem like such a cool person! Who wouldn't?"

I smiled. "Then, can I call you Ocha-chan?"

"As long as I can call you Ma-chan!"

I lifted my hands to cover my face, feeling my cheeks burning underneath my sweaty palms. "M-ma-chan?"

"Mhm!"

"Okay!" I chuckled and clamped my hands together in front of my chest in determination.

"Yay!" Ocha-chan exclaimed. "From now on, we are best friends for ever and EVER! Okay?" She queried, flailing her arms up and down like a fledgling learning how to fly.

"Yup! Forever and ever!" I agreed.
