🔸⟢Interview of @Yoonkeeri

Interviewer: Hello Yoonkeeri!! We welcome you to Mystic Book Club!

YoonKeeri:
Thank you! It's a pleasure! 🍓

Interviewer:
Firstly can you introduce yourself to our audience and tell us a little about your background??

YoonKeeri:
Hello, guys.✨I am Keeri, also known as Yoonkeeri on Wattpad! 🍓 I am currently a third-year college student majoring in mathematics. I am an artist, a writer, and a nail artist. I love reading highly romantic books, but my favorite genre is mystery-thriller. I often read books by Ana, a famous writer who wrote "The King of Sins" and the "Twisted" series. I also do portrait commissions and fan arts of BTS. Nice to meet you all. 🥰🍓

Interviewer:
Ohh sounds interesting!! We would love to know more about you!!
How did you first get into writing and what inspired you to start writing on wattpad??

Yoonkeeri: Oh, I started writing when I was 15 years old, inspired by various genres of anime I had watched. It was just a childhood dream to write stories like anime with my original characters and make animated movies in Japan.

But then I discovered the world of K-pop through BTS, and I got drawn into that music-filled universe.✨ I stumbled upon some of their fanfiction on Wattpad, and that's where it all began for me!!✨

I used to read all types of fanfiction about them on my phone. While doing nothing, I would think about some plots of my own, wishing those stories existed. Then I realized, why not write it myself?🥰

That's when my whole writing journey began again!! 🍓

Interviewer: Ohhh wow! You have deep connections with books.

Yoonkeeri: ♥️

Interviewer: How do you balance writing with other aspects of life??

Yoonkeeri: To be honest, it's quite challenging...! I have been writing since 2021 but only managed to publish my first book last year. With college occupying my time from morning to evening, I only have nights to write. So, I've decided to write on all six days of the week, reserving Sundays for updating any of my books. During exam times, I take some breaks from Wattpad but often find myself writing scenes if inspiration strikes during study breaks.

Balancing my writing life and personal life have felt overwhelming at times, but I've managed to handle it so far and continue writing while maintaining that balance.

Interviewer:
It sounds really challenging!!

Yoonkeeri:
Yeah

Interviewer:
What is your favorite book you have written, and why??

Yoonkeeri: The title might sound unusual, but my first book that I had written was "My Spanking Partner," and it's my all-time favorite. It revolves around two main characters: one, a college student mirroring aspects of my life, burdened with bills and struggling to find a well-paying job while managing academics. The other character is a doctor whose life is consumed by work, lacking any form of love or relief he craves. The book delves into their challenges, and seeking different forms of relieves, they both join a website called 'My Spanking Partner,' setting off their journey together.

This book holds a special place for me because it marks my debut journey on Wattpad. It's been almost a year since I started, gaining numerous supporters and readers through this story.

Unfortunately, it was deleted by the app for supposedly containing explicit content, which I believe wasn't the case. Nevertheless, I've started rewriting the book again last month and continue on this journey.

It's a fanfiction of BTS.

Interviewer: Ohh it sounds interesting!!!

Yoonkeeri : 🥰

Interviewer:
As a reviewer on wattpad, what do you look for in a good story??

Yoonkeeri:
I look for interesting plots, unique characters, and a captivating writing style. Even if there are some grammatical mistakes, my main focus is always on the plot because it is the backbone of the story. I personally enjoy analyzing each characters in a story and how well their emotions are portrayed. Therefore, I prioritize a strong plot, distinctive characters, and engaging writing style when evaluating a story.

Interviewer:
Okkk!!
What are some common mistakes you see writers making on wattpad??

Yoonkeeri: This is a really great question because there are many common mistakes I come across in some books on this app. First of all, one common mistake is rushing into explicit content too quickly. In many stories, within the first 5 chapters, writers introduce explicit scenes without developing the emotions of the characters involved. Displaying the characters' emotions is crucial because when the sexual elements are introduced hastily, it can break the chemistry and depth of love between the characters, making the plot feel less intriguing anymore.

Other common mistakes include pacing issues within the story and the overall plot structure. Many books I have seen get everything right in terms of elements and portrayal but lack in pacing, which affects the overall flow of the narrative. Additionally, some plots seem too similar and lack uniqueness despite having good writing styles.

Interviewer: Ohh!!
What role do your readers play in your writing? Do you interact with them often!!

Yoonkeeri : I always interact with my readers, reading and replying to every comment I receive because I love their feedback. Their comments, often cheerful, bubbly, and sometimes funny, play a special role in my writing journey. They motivate me to write more and update my stories regularly. My readers are like cheerleaders for my writing, and their love for the story fuels my creativity.

As I always say, 'What more do I need as an author other than my readers?'

Haha, I truly adore them, they are my energy boosters!!! 🥰

Interviewer: !! That's cute!!
Is there any upcoming projects you are excited about! If yes can you share a little with us!!! (edited

Yoonkeeri: Oh, yes, actually, I was just working on my new book 'The Kings Of Kpop: A Survival Show'. It revolves around a global competition for male pop groups, hosted by a famous company.

BTS decides to participate at their company's nice suggestion, aiming to have fun while not knowing that their company was also eyeing the great prize money and the winner's exclusive five-year contract for collaborative projects and promotions, also the title 'The Kings Of K-pop' given to the winning group.

Initially attending to have a relief from their hectic schedules, BTS soon discovers the show is filled with competitiveness and toxicity, as rival participants move to violence, harassment, and even attempted murder to secure victory.

The story centers on BTS remaining united as seven members, supporting each other till the end and trying their best for their Armies throughout the challenges, even with several injuries.

It's my first fanfiction featuring all members of the group in a brotherly dynamic, unlike my previous works that focused on some romantic plots of the two eldest members of the group.

I'm really excited about this new plot that I came up with and is eager to share the process with my readers.

Interviewer: Ohh it sounds really good!!!
What feedback or comment about your story meant the most to you???

Yoonkeeri: I love comments that feel genuine and not forced and just for the sake of commenting. It's hard to choose a favorite, but recently, I've really appreciated comments from a reviewer named 'Jinleen' who was reviewing my book and a judge named 'Nobodyelsebutyo' who was judging my book for an award book. They praised me for the dialogues in the first chapter of that book, which meant a lot to me. No one had previously complimented me specifically on my dialogues, so I was really happy after reading their comments.

Interviewer: What's the best piece of writing advice that you have received??

Yoonkeeri: Oh, I just received a review for one of my books the day before yesterday. The best piece of advice I got was on how to improve the world-building in my story.

All the reviews of my other books also mentioned the need to enhance world-building, which involves describing the setting where all scenes take place.

The reviewer, Jinleen, advised me to enrich the world-building by effectively describing it through the five human senses: sight, hearing, smell, touch, and taste.

It was a surprising idea for me, and I feel like it's the best advice to help me portray the surroundings of my scenes and strengthen my storytelling skills.

Interviewer: Ohh that's great!!
What advice would you give to new writer's??

Yoonkeeri: The best advice I could give to the new writers is:

Don't rush or panic. Don't underestimate yourself by comparing your writing to others'. Every successful author has gone through a long journey of learning and improvement. Your writing journey will also be a process, where you might doubt your abilities, your plots, or feel you're not good enough.

It's natural, but what's important is 'to never give up.'

If the results don't meet your expectations, use it as a motivation to improve rather than a reason to quit. Writing is a journey of discovering your unique style, which takes time and dedication.

You can write more well by reading more books. Read as much as you can because reading enhances your ability to express your writing skills effectively.

So, avoid rushing, panicking, or doubting yourself. Focus on enjoying the process of writing, because that's what truly matters, not how others see your work.

Interviewer: Ohh!!! That's amazing!
Let's ask the final question!!
...
How do you hope to be remembered as a writer and a reviewer on wattpad??

Yoonkeeri: Oh my goodness, that's a question that makes me reflect on everything.

Well, I would like to be remembered as a writer who's good at writing spicy scenes, creating amazing plots, and making her characters suffer. Haha. In all of my books, I put my characters through hell but still give them a happy ending. This even earned me the nickname 'Keeri, the Cruel Devil' of Wattpad from my readers.

So, I would like to be remembered as the cruel devil author on Wattpad whom my readers love, the one who gives good spoilers when updates are nearing, the one who they can talk to freely, and the one who loves hearing her readers' points of view about anything in her book. I don't need to be remembered as the best author, but as someone who enjoys writing her stories and stands out even in a million.

As a reviewer, I would like to be remembered as someone who helps people improve their writing styles and plot development skills. I want to be known as a reviewer who is thoughtful about reviewing books, giving the best advice, and helping my fellow writers to enhance their stories.

Both these roles mean a lot to me, like really a lot! And I hope I can live my whole life with these titles. 🍓
