OP. 11: CARS THAT GO BOOM

Beacon Academy. 1544 hours. Ms. Goodwitch office.

3rd Person POV.

Glynda: "What in the world were you thinking!?"
-The teacher shouted, slamming both of her hands into her desk as she looked angrily at the responsible of the mess from before. The Marine himself, whom looked at her with an emotionless expression.

Donovan: "What? That bitch-ass deserved it."
-He replied, looking at her with his arms crossed, sitting down on the chair in front of the teacher, whom sighed heavily.
She facepalmed and took a breath. After explaining every detail of the incident between him and Cardin, this is the response she gets.

Glynda: "Mr. Donahue... I can agree with you that Mr. Winchester is not one the best, but you have to understand that an agression towards a student will not be tolerated."

Donovan: "I hope you told him that too, 'cause I remember getting his fuckin' hands off a student he was harrasing."
-The Marine replied, looking up at her, still sitting down in the chair, now sounding a bit angrier.

Glynda: "I will take care of him, don't worry about that. But you have to understand I can't punish him and leave you be."
-She responded, now trying to reason with him. She had to admit she didn't like Cardin either and that she would also have some rough reasoning with him, but unfortunately she couldn't.

Donovan: "I'm ok with the punishment. Well, scratch that: I could care less, Ma'am. I don't regret kicking his ass... I leared that diplomacy sucks with assholes like him."

Glynda: "Mr. Donahue, violence is not the way you should react to that sort of problem! You report it to a teacher and let them handle it!"
-The teacher shouted, still upset because he didn't regret doing what he did. Unfortunately, that didn't help... It only angered him even more.

Donovan: "Oh yeah!? For what!? So he can get puniest punishment ever!? And after that's over he goes on doing his shits all over again!? Fuck that, Miss!" -the Marine shouted back, now standing up and slamming his hands on the teacher's desk, facing her.- "If you're gonna do somethin' about it, you better do something good. 'Cause if I see that asshole doing that again, I'll break his arms."
-He replied before grabbing his belongings and leaving the office, slamming the door behind him and not even letting Miss Goodwitch say a word.

Glynda: "Oh Oum, give me patience..."
-She sighed heavily, facepalming as she looked down, already knowing that dealing with him will be tough.
But he was right... She'll have to do something so Cardin won't go around bullying any other students...

Meanwhile...

♪We like the cars, the cars that go "boom"~♪
♪We're Tigra and Bunny, and we like the "boom"~♪

The song blasted through the portable radio speakers, which was connected to Alex's cellphone, as the rest of the team was maintaining the Humvee. Christian was minding his business below the car while Alex was checking on the top-mounted M240. David was hanging some of the heavy equipment they wouldn't need to carry around that often.
All of this was done right outside the academy. Some of the students even passed by and looked at them, or their vehicle, which they had never seen before.
Hell, some even stopped to enjoy the music they were playing, some thinking the singers' accents were adorable.

David: "How's it going down there Chris?"
-The Sniper asked his friend as he went down to take a sip from a water bottle they had around.

Christian: "Well... Humvee's greasy as fuck sooo... Nothing new. Making this thing go slightly faster will be a pain in the ass." -the Ranger replied as he rolled out of the bottom of the car, grabbing his friend's bottle, whom offered it to him.- "Thank you."

Alex: "Dude, you're a better mechanic than a medic."
-The team leader responded, looking down at his buddies while chuckling a little bit.

Christian: "Tell me about it! I mean, I did quit med-school not that long ago, so that kinda makes me a doctor in Jersey."
-The Ranger said before taking a sip of the bottle while the other two started laughing a little bit.
And just in time, Donovan arrived, chuckling a little bit as he heard the music from afar.

Donovan: "Ayo! Who's the one who played that track?" -The Marine asked as he arrived, all hands being pointed at Alex.- "Mad respect, brotha."
-He said as his companions chuckled too, with Alex now singing the rest of the lyrics, being followed by his buddies.

Alex: "And see, my boyfriend really knows where it's at~♪"

Donovan: "♪He's got 50-inch woofers all along the back~♪"

David: "♪He makes a comment on going to my room~♪"

Christian: "♪But I'd rather stay out with his car that goes 'boom'~♪"
-They all sang individual verses right until the chorus, where they all did it at the same time.

The Unit: "♪We like the cars, the cars that go 'boom'~♪"
"♪We're Tigra and Bunny, and we like the 'boom'~♪"
-The whole team laughed before realizing they were gathering quite the audience... And by "quite the audience" I mean a group of 10 students no less, whom all chuckled in response. The thought of four buffed and tough men singing such a song seemed funny to them, but not in an offensive way though.
After that, they all went back to work on the Humvee.
Christian opened up the hood in order to get a better look at the engine and start his handiwork.

Christian: "Well... Judging by what I have to do in order to get this done, we'll have to leave the truck parked for another day. I'll also need some better tools."

David: "Not a problem, we still have VTOL jets around here so it's better than a fucking bus."
-The sniper chuckled as he opened the door to the passenger seat and sat down.

Donovan: "Yeah... Hey Alex, how's that gun lookin' up there?"
-The other Marine said as he jumped on top of the Humvee to get a look at the top-mounted M240.

Alex: "Not bad. You burned a lot of rounda through it, so I had to put some lube in it... By the way, what happened with you and Glynda?"
-He asked his buddy, recieving a long, tired sigh in response.

Donovan: "It was about that thing back in the cafeteria. Said that I shouldn't do that, can you believe that shit? I mean, yeah, punching people is bad and all that bullshit, but he was bullying the girl just because she had rabbit ears? What the fuck?"

Christian: "It's some sort of discrimination you're too familiar with..."
-The Ranger replied as he looked up at his buddy, noticing what he was talking about.

Donovan: "Of course I'm familiar with it, nigga! That's why I was so pissed with that bitch when she called me on her office."
-He responded to his friend as he got up and looked at him from above the hood.
That sort of discrimination angered him, since he also suffered a lot of it too. Yes, she had rabbit ears and his skin colour was dark, but it was the same: discrimination from having a different physical trait.

David: "Hey buddy, don't think about it too much." -David said as he tapped Donovan's leg from below, since he was sitting right below him.- "Besides, I'm sure that kid will not hit that girl after what you did to him. I mean, dude. Did you see how even his buddies told him to leave before you even strangled him?"

Alex: "Yeah, they were shitting their pants!"
-He laughed at David's comment, just like the rest of his buddies, even Donovan, whom managed to calm down a little bit. After that, the song that was on the radio had finally stopped playing.

Christian: "My turn!"
-The Ranger shouted as he dashed towards the radio and searched for a song on YouTube, since they got the Academy's WiFi password.

Donovan: "Oh hell yeah!" -Donovan shouted as the song began, while looking at Christian, whom instantly walked back to the front to keep working on the engine.- "Nice one, homie!"

Christian: "Thanks man!"
-The Ranger replied right before the lyrics began, with him whispering them as David and Donovan began making dumb dancing gestures.

THE NEXT DAY...

After some progress yesterday, The Unit decided to take some rest on their dorm, where they eventually slept. And now, after their morning routine of showering, which was a bit complicated since they only had one bathroom, getting dressed and breakfast, it was now time for class. And this one was gonna be useful, since it was history class.
Unfortunately, it would be hard to understand his teacher. Not because he couldn't explain things propperly, but because he was so high on coffee that he spoke and ran at the speed of sound.

Oobleck: "Yes, yes! Prior to the Faunus Rights Revolution, more popularly known as the Faunus War, humankind was quite, quite adamant about centralizing Faunus population in Menagerie."
-Proffesor Oobleck, the Academy's history teacher, explained as he pointed the island of Menagerie shown in a map of Remnant. Said map was all over the board, with many pictures pinned above every important place in the planet.

Christian: "Jesus..."
-The Ranger whispered as he heard his teacher's explanation, barely understanding what was going on due to how much information was thrown at him so fast. The same could be told about his team, who could only catch a breath to swallow all that information as Oobleck took a sip of his coffee before continuing, dashing all over the place as he did.

Oobleck: "Now! While this may feel like ancient history to many of you, it is imperative to remember that these are relatively recent events! Why the repercussiong of the uprising can be seen to this day!" -the teacher continued to explain before pausing to, once again, taking a sip from his mug.- "Now! Have any among you been subjugated or discriminated because of your faunus heritage?"

Donovan: "Hmm..."
-As soon as he heard that, he looked at Velvet, whom saw a student raising his hand. He didn't know, but that probably encouraged her to raise hers too. Some other students did too, which made him feel bad for them considering he had been through similar stuff too. He didn't raise his hand though, since he wasn't a Faunus. He also didn't know if skin colour discrimination was a thing here, he hoped not, so he kept it to himself.

Oobleck: "Dreadful! Simply, dreadful! Remember students, it is precisely this kind of ignorance that breeds violence! I mean, I mean. Just look at what happened to the White Fang!" -now that seemed curious to the Americans. They didn't know what the White Fang was, since Ozpin didn't mention that when they met him, but judging by the teacher's recent statement, they didn't seem nice.- "Now, which one of you young scholars can tell me what many theorists believe to be the turning point during the third year of the war?"

Weiss: "The battle at Fort Castle."

Oobleck: "Precisely! And, who can tell me the advantage the Faunus had over General Lagune's forces?"
-The teacher asked, recieving no answer yet. Unfortunately, another student, a blond, white-skinned male, was sleeping during the explanation. And was woken up by no other than Cardin Winchester, whom threw a piece of paper at him.

???: "Ow, hey!"
-He replied, somehow knowing who threw the paper at him. Sadly, Oobleck thought he was paying attention to the class, so he dashed straight at him.

Oobleck: "Mr. Arc! Finally contributing to class! This is excellent, excellent!" -the teacher said as he leaned towards him. Now The Unit knew who he was, and aparently he was one of Cardin's victims too.- "What's the answer?"

Jaune: "Uhhh... The answer... The advantage... The Faunus had... Over that guy's stuff..." -he nervously mumbled nonsense, trying to remember the answer. He didn't know, but someone else knew. Another student, a red-haired, white-skinned girl, whom did a gesture putting her hands around her eyes, like binoculars... Or what Jaune thought were binoculars.- "Binoculars!"

Oobleck: "Very funny, Mr. Arc." -the teacher replied, with an obvious hint of irony, as the whole class laughed at Jaune.- "Cardin. Perhaps you would care to share your thoughts on the subject!"

Cardin: "Well, I know it's a lot easier to train an animal than a soldier."
-The student replied, with a mocking tone, still openly expressing his hate towards the Faunus.

Alex: "Listen dude, nobody likes you. Stop pretending you're cool."
-Alex replied as he looked back at Cardin, now tired of his mocking behavior. He understands why Donovan wants to kick his ass again.

Cardin: "What, you got a problem with that old man!?"
-The boy replied as he stood up, looking down at Alex and his team, still thinking he's bettee than them... Even after one of them kicked his ass.

Alex: "This old man is a retired soldier and an active Special Forces member. And you look like you struggle with simple tasks."
-Now that angered Cardin, which made him leave his desk and walk towards him. Sadly for him, someone was on his way to stop him dead in his tracks.

Donovan: "Take one more step foward and I'll hang yo' guts all over the place like a fuckin' birthday party."
-The Marine stood up as well, threatning Cardin, whom sat back down after his team members told him to.

Oobleck: "That's enough! If you two want to handle this issue like this, I suggest doing it on Miss Goodwitch's class!"
-The teacher interrupted them, dashing right between the two. Now his suggestion peeked the interest of both individuals.

Donovan: "The combat class... Yeah, Imma kick his ass."
-The Marine chuckled, with an evil smile in his face, looking at Cardin. He definetly won't go easy on him.

Cardin: "It won't be that easy this time!"
-The student replied before the class continued. The final answer was given, which was apparently night vision. It seemed interesting to the Americans, specially to David, since he worked with his NVGs pretty much all the time. Even in the daylight due to them being an advanced piece of engineering that enhanced the user's vission during daytime too.

After that, the class kept going after some more students roasted Cardin, which angered him even more.
Still, he didn't know he didn't stand a chance against the fully trained Marine he was about to face...
Finally, history class was over, and the students proceeded to go to the next one. On their way there, the Americans stumbled upon Jaune, whom walked up to them.

Jaune: "H-hey..." -the boy said, still a bit shy and scared to speak to them. But he still managed to talk.- "Thanks for helping me back there."

Christian: "No need to, buddy. If there's something we can all agree with, is that that asshole sucks."
-The Ranger replied as he patted Jaune's shoulder, while they all chuckled.

Jaune: "Good luck with the fight."
-He turned to Donovan and looked at him. He knew Cardin was a strong and skilled fighter, but he didn't know how Donovan would do against him.

Donovan: "Don't worry, my man... I won't need it."

HEY YA'LL, IT'S ME AGAIN!
Sorry for this long delay, but I've been really busy lately. I also had a lot of free time but no motivation to write anything.

This chapter was originally suppossed to include the fight between Donovan and Cardin, but will sadly be written on the next one, since there's little to no inspiration for that now.

But here's a 2600ish chapter with some interesting stuff happening. I honestly like making these kind of scenarios where the characters just throw beef at each other lmao.

Anyways, I hope you guys enjoyed this chapter. And as always, have a nice day!
