Speak NowโWilliam Vangeance
โย WILLIAM VANGEANCEย โ
But you aren't the kind of boy who should be marrying the wrong girl.
The bells are ringing, the organ's starting to play a lovely song and everyone is looking at the main entrance of the church. You, being William's ex-girlfriend and uninvited to his wedding, sneak on the large patio windows.
You could see your friends inside, your co-captains, and as well as your squad members inside the venue, wearing their pastel tuxedos which are really too...girly. You cringed at the sight, probably it's the girl who planned the motif. Knowing William, he'll choose something more classy...than just pastel pink.
Just then you remembered Jade, the bride for today, was yelling at a bridesmaid somewhere back inside the room while she's wearing a gown that literally looked like a cake. No, no offense, but it just really looked like a pastry. Everything is pink, the curtains, the carpet, the cake, chairs, and tables, ugh! Everything!
Positioning yourself behind another large door of the church, you saw William patiently waiting on the altar. You awed at the sight, imagining, "What if I'm the one he's waiting for?". You can't help but smile but deep down, you're heart's breaking.
This is your last chance.
You know, you both know, that William isn't happy. This isn't his dream wedding. And Jade isn't his dream girl.
But you.
Actually, you still love William. It's just that he's arranged married that's why you have to break up with each other but after that, you both grew miserable. Your hearts are shouting each other's name and this is your last chance of getting back your man. There's no more turning back!
Fond gestures are exchanged as the lovely bride-to-be starts to walk down the aisle like a pageant queen. She floats like a cake, but she's still beautiful.
But you know that William is still wishing that it was you.
The groom doesn't know you sneaked here in the venue, all he knew is that you're out of town for some mission. Little did he know that you finished your mission just right on time before rushing here in the church. The priest started the mass and sadness and disappointment are painted on Vangeance's face but he chose not to let everyone notice it. For him, this wedding is a job. He doesn't want to mess up.
And as if on cue, you heard the preacher say the words you've been waiting for. You smiled devilishly, entering the church silently, pretending to be one of the attendants who just happened to pass by.
"Speak now or forever hold your peace..."
That's it, Y/N. The cue! Raise your hand! Damn it!
You're shaking. You are shaking! You can't find your voice and your body froze. You aren't the type of girl who should rudely barge in on a pink veil occasion but you knew William isn't the type of boy who should be marrying the wrong girl.
Your hand shot up, walking into the aisle. All eyes were on you.
Horrified looks from everyone in the room were shot back at you but you're just looking at William.
Sorry, but I have to get my man back, you thought.
You saw Vangeance surprised as he mindlessly loosens his grip on his bride-to-be's hand. You smiled as you tried to look for your voice, and fortunately, your body didn't fail you. The aura inside the room is very suffocating but you chose to fight it off.
"I-I...am not the kind of girl..." Your voice is shaking.
"...W-Who should be ruining a perfect moment like this. But..."
Looking at William, he has tears in his eyes. You took a deep breath before finishing your sentence. No one tried to move, no one speaks, and probably, no one's breathing at the moment.
"...I'll just get back what's really mine."
Using the last drop of energy you have inside you, you ran to the altar before grabbing William's wrist as you both run outside the church. Everyone was shocked. No one made a move but the both of you are laughing. When you were sure you got enough distance away from the commotion, you both paused for a while, catching your breaths.
"T-That was...unbelievable."
You were the first one to break the silence. Panting, your knees are shaking because you just came home from a tiring mission yet you chose to rush to the wedding.
William gave you a sudden hug, his body still shaking. "Baby, I didn't say my vow."
"I won't let you say it though," Speaking the truth with a hint of a chuckle, you hugged the latter back.
"I'm so glad you were around when they said, "Speak now."
You let go of the hug before looking straightly at William's face. Removing the mask, you kissed him passionately, his hands snaking on your waist, deepening it. You are both happy, satisfied with the scene you just caused. Who knows, how will the both of you face the consequences? Well, that's not the issue now. As long as you're both under each other's care, you're both fine.
And there's nothing more you could ask for.
"I'll be the one to marry you, William. Remember that."
[ ALTERNATIVE ENDING ]
You're shaking. You are shaking! You can't find your voice and your body froze. You aren't the type of girl who should rudely barge in on a pink veil occasion but you knew William isn't the type of boy who should be marrying the wrong girl.
Your hand shot up, walking into the aisle. All eyes were on you.
Horrified looks from everyone in the room were shot back at you but you're just looking at William.
What should you say? What should you do?! Everyone was looking at you, even William. His eyes...are full of remorse. Yet, you want to give him hope. It feels like he's mentally screaming, asking for your help. You can feel it, he doesn't want to get married to someone he doesn't know.
But...
"Y-Y/N-chan?" It was Asta, calling you.
"I..."
Your voice broke and your sight's starting to get blurry. It feels like you just want the ground to eat you whole. You were frozen.
I'm sorry William. I'm so...sorry.
"Can I go to the washroom?"
Those were all you can say before dashing out of the church, tears falling from your eyes. What the hell was that?! You're scandalous, thinking you have enough courage within you to get your man back. But no, you don't. You just made a scene on the most memorable day of William, the only man you love.
Slamming your fists against the wall, you cried your lungs out. It was your last chance. Yet due to loss of courage, you let it go.
You damn let it go. Your only chance, your last chance of happiness.
You shouted so damn loud, but no one heard you. Not even William. Just you. Alone.
"Speak now or forever hold your peace.", you heard the priest say.
Unconsciously, you chose to hold your peace forever.
