One order. That's all it took to forever change the galaxy. After three years of what seemed like a never-ending conflict between the Galactic Republic and the Separatists, the war stopped. But nobody won. Instead, this war birthed something even worse. 

The Galactic Empire. Nobody saw it coming. Chancellor Palpatine orchestrated everything from the beginning. He started the Clone Wars. Played on both sides. Manipulated the Senate and the Separatists leaders. And put an end to this war that gave him what he wanted: the birth of his Galactic Empire. He planned everything for more than twenty years. He could have done it sooner but didn't. He waited for who everyone called the "Chosen Ones." Twin siblings that could destroy the galaxy on their own if they wanted to.

Hemera Matthews, despite not being a clone trooper, saw first-hand what happens when they hear those three words. After being with the Bad Batch for a couple months, she had to watch the events of that order unfold. She saw clone troopers killing the Jedi Master they served under for three years. If it weren't for Hunter, the young padawan would have also been killed.

And when she thought she saw the worst, the unthinkable happened. Crosshair. The man she fell in love with, turned his back on her, aiming his weapon in her direction.

"𝖂𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐃𝐎 𝐖𝐄 𝐃𝐎 𝐍𝐎𝐖 ?"

A question without an answer. Something Hemera and the rest of the Bad Batch have been wondering ever since they left Kamino, leaving Crosshair behind.

They spent a lot of times trying to find their place in an ever changing galaxy. Just as they started to find their place, they found out that the Empire was after them. Especially her.

Hemera Matthews. The only non clone soldier of the Bad Batch. The Empire wanted her. For a very specific reason. 

𝐇𝐄𝐑 𝐏𝐎𝐖𝐄𝐑𝐒.

For her whole life, Hemera had always felt different. Like something was wrong with her. And now she knows why. She's not just human. 

She's what people call the "gifted people." Hunted down. Wanted for their powers. Tracked by bounty hunters. Only a thousand of them exist, and that's why they're so wanted. Some people want them to steal their powers. Others want to kill them for being "freaks." Unless someone puts them under protection, they can't live a normal life.

Hemera was one of the "lucky ones" as she got to live a normal life. Until the fall of the Galactic Republic. As she was only starting to develop her powers, she had to be on the run for the Empire. And not just them. Her biological parents are also after to kill her and take her powers. 

And just as she's finally getting a hold of them, she gets a message from her biological family. She has to face them. They want to end this once and for all. And so does she.

If she has to kill them to save herself, and the people she loves...

From 2023 : I can't put into words how EXCITED I am for you to finally read this story ! I've been working on it since January and the work I put into it is MASSIVE ! And it's also it is my first fanfiction written in English and since it's not my first language, I apologize in advance for any grammar mistakes I could make (if you notice any, feel free to tell but be respectful about it)

If you follow me on Instagram (coraex.wp) you know how much I worked on Hemera's storyline and her background (did a massive research about Greek mythology (I literally did researches for THREE DAYS non-stop) because, of course, Hemera's story was gonna be a lot more than just her relationship with Crosshair and I'm super proud of everything I've created for her ! Steal any of this and I really won't be happy about it ! With all the events of seasons 1, 2 and waiting for season 3, Hemera's character's growth will be really visible.
