The whole point of creating SodaBubblewas to overtake the show's corrupt merit  
system, to give everyone the chance they deserved.

But then why weren't all the final 12 girls included in the group,but instead only the top 8?

Well, seeing that they were facing an iminent economical threat, losing the group they had invested so much in, the H&S executives went to the 4 last ranking contestants, Bonhwa ,Xifeng, Dorothea and Dasom . They knew they would be desperate to debut so, since the winners wouldn't be debuting, they figured they would offer the job to the people they knew wouldn't refuse.

At first not all of the girls were sure, having grown extremely suspicious of their label over the course of SUGARPOP. But the eldest of them ,Xifeng convinced them to stay with the company.

After the announcement of their debut, the four girls received a lot of hate. They were pegged by the fandom as traitors who didn't support SodaBubblez. Member and Leader Xifeng was also widley disliked through the reality show for her attitude,making their debut a turmoiled process. Due to all of this hate, H&S decided to change their group name from SUGARPOP to ACIDSUGAR. They are set to debut under a girl crush concept in 2020.

Dorothea  is a seventh generation korean  american and often was told she was "practically white " by her asian friends for how disconnected she was from Korean culture. With this in mind at 13 Thea started her own kpop youtube Channel , Kpoptheasis, to prove them wrong. Dorothea  was one of the first kpop channels on YouTube and gained a massive following because of it. As she grew , her audience started noticing she was REALLY PRETTY and started encouraging her to audition at JYP or SM as a model. She brushed it off , and only shifted her content to include makeup tutorials and closet tours.

At 19 Thea found herself wanting to sing again after seeing her little sisters performing at a church choir and, on pure impulse, decided to audition for the reality show, SUGARPOP.
She got in, and her video " IM GOING TO KOREA TO COMPETE IN A SURVIVAL SHOW? " got 2 million views.

Dorothea struggled a lot in the show and it was clear she was a noob with no training. She relied heavily on her fans to keep afloat and the korean public HATED that. She was called a bimbo and thought of as nothing but her looks. A lot of contestants hated her and thought she had no place in the show. They're not proud of this, but Gukhyeon, Pinhan and Bo often trash talked her in the confessionals

Xifeng is  one of the many children the Chinese government sold off to rich parents. She was raised by an italian director and his actress wife. She has two brothers from Benin,a sister from Honduras and a little baby brother from Afghanistan.

At 19 she left her home to debut in China, but unfortunately her and her girlfriend got kicked out of her group after a manager caught them kissing. Her second attempt at debuting, now in Korea ended badly as she debuted in a group with 2 non asian members. Her group disbanded 6 months after debut.

              Xifeng was one of the most high ranked contestants on the show. She immediately impressed with her potent stage presence and ranked 1 in the first two weeks . But it didn't take long for viewers to realize Xifeng was arrogant about her talent, and that with every victory she treated her colleagues worse . She constantly scolded and pressured her teammates and got extremely pissed off when someone got praise instead of her. This made her popularity die down pretty quickly. But the judges decided to keep her in the show because of the drama she provided, even if she didn't have the audience points to continue

With her rank getting lower and lower every week, Xifeng became a bubble of rage and had SEVERAL fights with Bongcha and Jiusi, until eventually they were all made to hesitantly make up after being put in a sub unit challenge. During the survival show the only girl she got close to was Dasom, who she's in a lowkey relationship with.

Dasom was often criticized for having a
" manic pixie girl" personality on the show . She's quite the airhead and has a whimsical childlike  personality. During SUGARPOP she often forgot what they were supposed to be doing mid episode,spaced out and laughed it all off with a flimsy charm when she realized the situation was serious. Viewer's heavily disliked her, especially because even being irresponsible and inattentive, the girl just keep on ranking higher and higher, having a natural performing talent and incredible vocal abilities.

     Bonhwa is the youngest of five sisters.
She is known to be heavily dependent on others's attention and validation. She has a hard time being alone and making decisions by herself. Bada is very sociable and likeable but she is always struggling with social interaction. She's constantly thinking of what people would like her to act like and changes her personality and opinions to please whoever she is with.

Just after her elimination in the final episode, Planetarium Records reached out to her and told them they would really love to have her as an artist, but convinced by Xifeng she stayed with H&S Entertainment. Bada is fully aware that people underestimate and belittle her,but to be honest as long as she's not alone she's okay with it.

In 11/3/2020, 3 months before Acid Sugar's debut date, Moon Bonhwa left the group to pursue a career as a soloist, shocking her members and deeply hurting their relationship. In 6/5/2020 Bonhwa made her solo debut with the single " MONEY"
