┊ ➶ ❁۪ ｡˚ Aoi was born in 2003 in Osaka to a family of sensitive teachers. Aoi's parents always prioritized making sure Aoi had autonomy, that even though she was a child her opinions and feelings were heard and valid. They are very open minded and trusting people who wanted Aoi to know that nobody could ever undermine her . With was with this confidence and autonomy that their 11 year old daughter asked them to move to Korea with her to help her achieve her dream of becoming a kpop star. Aoi was always a 'project' kind a girl, she likes to find things to fully commit to, so after becoming absolutely endeared with kpop group Red Velvet, Aoi spent 6 months learning all of their choreographies and trying to improve her school choir singing skills enough so she could sing their songs. After being absolutely knocked out by their little girl's preparation and dedication, as she showed them cheap living areas and companies known for taking in japanese trainees, her parents hesitantly agreed to letting her audition. They flew with her to audition and they tried everything, big and small, popular and no name, Woolim, J&Star, Fantagio, all companies rejected her. Aoi came back home with a bruised confidence and a bit of an inferiority complex. She made her parents waste such money, time and faith in her, it filled her with shame.Now she had to succeed, to show everyone. At 13 she auditioned for a japanese idol conpany and got in, just to be dropped from it 6 months later after refusing to wear some revealing clothing , she then joined another japanese company that went bankrupt after one year of Aoi's training there. At 14 she and her mother rented a house in Hongdae so she could participate in Idol School but unfortunately there she ranked 10th. After her appearance on the show she was finally noticed and accepted to train at Pledis, but in 2019 Pristin's disbandment brought on massive layoffs of female trainees, Pledis knowing another girl group would be far away and needing that extra cash. Aoi joined H&S Entertainment one month before SUGARPOP shooting started.

┊ ➶ ❁۪ ｡˚ Our baby Aoi sure is a stubborn one. Aoi is a sucker for commitment and planning , she likes to put 100 percent of her trust and investment into projects and people. She holds a lot of self knowledge and internal emotional intelligence, she knows what she's capable of, what are her emotions, how do they manifest and is really good at addressing unhealthy coping mechanisms and misunderstandings. Unfortunately this rare skill of Aoi's has been severely damaged with the years of rejection and pressure she has faced. Aoi now has an unconscious insecurity problem and often fails to recognize her own worth. Aoi constantly struggles with this, she wants to be confident and knows she's not worthless, but her brain has just been wired to never value herself as she spent her formative years working tirelessly just to be dismissed and insulted. Aoi has a deep perception of things and can often sear into the most intimate parts of someone just bybobserving their mannerisms and opinions. Although she is a highly sensitive person, Aoi often tries to hide her tears and worries, feeling like she will be scolded for it and needs to be tougher. She cries easily but never lets her sadness consume her, no matter how hopeless she always gets through her episodes.
Aoi is easily attached to people and likes to make this pretty clear, she's a supporter by nature and always knows exactly how to be there for someone. She's always subtly holding on the members, fixing their hair and asking for food, they know Aoi depends a lot on having a support system so they constantly shower her with affirmation and love. Aoi is naturally friendly and giddy with an subdued extrovert personality, she's really good at connecting with people and holding their attention.

🍱 —- Aoi is known as the Unnie Whisperer because literally any older woman she meets becomes her bitch, it's astounding, they're all whipped her and randomly buy her things. Some of Aoi's most notable Whipped Unies are IU, Ladies Code, Twice''s Japan Line and all the former members of HELLOVENUS . Aoi is often mobbed by unnies during music and award shows

🍱 —- Aoi has a diary where she writes poems and song lyrics about her life, her members and family. When she and her mom moved to Korea she used to send them to her father so he wouldn't miss them too much. The two members who have received poems from her as birthday gifts, Hina and May cried after reading them.

🍱 —- The members often clown Aoi for her old person interests, she loves knitting, playing crosswords, playing spot the difference games and sending those good morning stickers nobody asked for on the group chat.

🍱 — It is often pointed out how differently the members treat Aoi, she's the princess of the household, everyone treasures everything she says and pays ultmost attention to her.Not even the Taiwan Twins give her hard time or mock her. This is how SodaBubblez looks at her :

🍱—- Aoi became really attached to Hina during SUGARPOP. Hina pretty much held her hand through the entire show and acted as a maternal figure. Aoi had a really hard time as she was consistently fat shamed and told to lose weight, she would always be pointed out during group performances and the other contestants treated her like a burden. This caused her to overwork herself massively, sustaining minor injuries several times. She had something sprained almost every week. All of this kind of broke Aoi and Hina became the most important person in her life, as she gave her support and mentoring when everyone else had left her.

🍱 —- Aoi had a really wack run on Idol School, she always placed second or first throughout the competition but the judges and coaches always treated her like she was lacking , needed to push herself harder and lose weight . She had a really terrible traumatizing time there only to go from 3th to 10th in one week and not debut in Fromis_9. Co2s strongly believe that she did not make it to the final lineup due to the fact that Aoi was a foreign japanese trainee.

🍱 —- One good thing that came out of Idol School though, was her friendship with soloist Natty!! They are really good friends and brought bouquets to each other's debut stages.

🍱 —Dont tell anyone but........all the hardships and bad things that happened to Aoi, somehow make her proud? She's still scared one day she'll wake up and everything she fought for will fall apart and she'll be back to that place of struggle, but when she remembers how hopeless she felt when all her opportunities got ripped apart, she feels really proud of how she was able to get through all her obstacles. It really reassures her and honestly......it makes her feel like a bad bitch

🍱—— Aoi is the most stubborn person EVER, she doesn't have the spine to fight over it but she just passively never ever changes her mind. The member's are often surprised that Aoi still thinks she was right even after something she thought was proven to be completely wrong, she often suffers face cracks for not being able to admit she didn't know what she was saying.

🍱—- Aoi voice also unsettles people, it's really rich and soulful, it doesn't look like something that would come out of such a tiny girl. The fans often accuse Chungnam Creative of making her sing in higher childlike voice in their songs.

🍱—- Aoi likes to pick pocket little things from her unnies just to see how long it takes for them to notice it's gone and notice she took them I TOLD U SHE'S STEALTHY

🍱 —- Aoi was given the nickname Kiki because in the first episode of their survival show Aoi wore a big red bow in her hair, just like the anime character Kiki from KiKi's Delivery Service
