An alternate universe in which spies exist. A boy is simply waiting in his car for his friend to come out, when an unknown girl jumps in his car, giving him a surprise.

A/n: By the end of this AU you may have the sudden urge to strangle me; please try to control it.

"Crynn I told you, I'll reach your house till 12.00. I won't be late. In fact, I'm going to drive up to your house right now. I'm hanging up now, bye." Ruel drops his phone in his pocket while sitting in his car. He puts the keys in the ignition and turns them, making the engine roar. He drives out of the driveway and goes on his way to his friend Crynn's house. His favorite song comes on the radio and he gleefully increases the volume and grooves to the song till his drive to Crynn's house.

Not more than 10 minutes pass and Ruel reaches Crynn's home, or as Crynn likes to call it, his humble abode. Ruel, expecting Crynn to be waiting for him outside, stops his car in front of Crynn's gate. But not seeing any black haired boy on the front porch, a look of perplexness clouds his face. His hand trails down to his pocket to pull his phone out. His thumb taps across the screen as he dials Crynn's number. Just before he could call him, the door of the car opens.

"Thank god you're here I was just about to call-" Ruel looks up from his phone to not see Crynn, but a girl. "Who... who are you?"

"Drive!" She shrieks. Her hair was messed up and kept on coming in her eyes, blocking her vision, but she didn't bother to brush them out.

"Wha-"

"I said drive you fool!" She turns to look out the window. A few people in entire black attire are running up to the car. "Oh my god they're coming! Drive!"

Ruel steps on the gas and begins to drive. "Listen miss, I was supposed to pick up my friend-"

"There's no time! Please just drive!"

"Who are you though?"

"I'll tell you everything later, but for now drive faster! You're driving like a grandma!"

Ruel gasps and shakes his head at her before stepping his foot on the gas even more, accelerating the car. He takes a sharp left turn and the two jerk sideways.

"Where are we supposed to go?" Ruel questions, picking up more speed.

"Anywhere, just out of here." The girl keeps on checking out of her window to see if they are being followed. "Shit we're being followed!" She yells when she sees a black car following them with the same people in them as before.

"What am I supposed to do?" Ruel expressed frantically, taking random turns and driving across random roads. "I've never been in a car chase before. I'm scared, and nervous, but this is so fucking exciting!" He lets out a breathe with a mixed expression on his face which depicts, as he said, scaredness, nervousness and excitement.

"What if I told you you can get killed if you don't drive properly?" She says, looking at him with an exasperated expression. The excitement on his face increases even more.

"That's what makes it even more exciting!" He yells. The girl shakes her head at him as Ruel keeps on driving. She looks back again to still see the black car following them.

"Stop chit chatting, just focus on driving! We have to lose them. Now."

Ruel accelerates the car even more than before as he drives forward. They come across a railway track. The barricade is slowly making its way down. Just before it could entirely come down, Ruel fastens up his speed and whizzes past the railway track. The barricade in front of the track comes down, and the black car is, thankfully stuck on the other side. The girl lets out a sigh and Ruel drives at a less speed now, taking turn into a small lane. He parks his car in front of a park.

"So miss," Ruel shifts in his position, "who are you, and why did I just save you from possible bad guys? You're welcome, by the way."

"I'm y/n, and-"

Y/n gets cut off with a buzzing voice coming from Ruel's phone. He picks it up to see Crynn's name flashing across thr screen.

"Shit, I forgot all about Crynn." Ruel mumbles as he swipes his thumb across the screen, accepting the call.

"Hel-"

"WHERE ARE YOU RUEL?! YOU AREN'T HERE! I HAD TO TAKE A CAB. I GOT SO LATE SERIOUSLY RUEL WHY DO YOU MESS EVERYTHING UP?!" Ruel aggresively runs his hand across his face. Crynn is shouting so loud that y/n can hear everything. She grimaces at Crynn's words and realises it happened all because of her.

"Listen Crynn," Ruel speaks calmly, trying to cut through his agitation, "I just couldn't come. I'll explain everything to you later, right now I'm busy." With that, Ruel disconnects the call. Y/n looks at him with an apologetic look.

"I'm sorry, I know that happened because of me. I really am."

"It's okay, just tell me why the hell you are in my car right now."

"Okay, I'm y/n and I was being chased by bad guys and needed to escape from them. Your car was the first thing I saw, so I had no option but to do this." She gestures to herself sitting in an unknown person's car. Ruel looks back at her with a deadpanned look.

"Oh I had no idea you were being chased by bad guys," Ruel says with sarcasm lacing his tone, making y/n roll her eyes at him, "but why are they chasing you, to be exact?"

"I... uhh... how do I put this? Uhh..."

"Spill already!"

"I was, uhh.... sneaking in their place and they caught me..."

"Sneaking but why?"

"You can't tell anyone about this. Promise." Y/n says sternly while pulling up her pinky finger. Ruel mumbles a 'promise' and intertwines their pinkies. "I'm a spy, and I had to undercover their secrets."

Ruel's eyes widen so much that y/n can't decide what's bigger, his eyes or saucers.

"I didn't know spies exist." Ruel whispers.

"We do exist, and it was my mission to undercover their secrets. I can't tell you what my mission is. But you know I'm a spy, and you aren't supposed to reveal that to anyone." Y/n stares right at his soul. "Promise."

Ruel swallows the big lump in his throat before nodding. "Promise."

Y/n lets out a deep breathe as she rakes her hand through her hair. She rests her elbows on her knees and buries her face in her hands. She keeps on breathing deeply, letting out all of her worries and pain.

"Anyways," She says, lifting her face from her hands and looks at Ruel, "thank you..."

"...Ruel. Ruel is my name." He finishes her unfinished sentence.

Y/n nods. "Thank you Ruel. I'll leave now, we've lost them. I know my way from here."

"You'll be safe right?" Ruel asks, worry flashing in his eyes.

Y/n nods with a smile on her face. "Yes Ruel, I'll be fine."

"If you need help with anything, you can contact me. If you want we can exchange numbers." Ruel fumbles. "Real smooth Ruel." He mumbles to himself.

Y/n giggles, pulling out her phone from the back pocket of her jeans. She unlocks it and Ruel saves his contact as 'Ruel :)' on her phone. Y/n saves her number in his phone as 'The spy girl ;)', making Ruel laugh at it. Y/n and Ruel shake hands before y/n steps out of the car. She waves at him from the window and sees Ruel drive away.
