THIRTEEN

time skip

a couple of months passed. taehyung and jungkook were back to being boyfriends. these months were filled with so much happiness and love. it almost felt like the old times...

today was december thirtieth - taehyung's birthday.

jungkook sitting hopelessly on his bed staring at the floor. not only did he remeber about his birthday so late, he also didn't have a present for him. they were supposed to meet up at a park and have a sleepover at taehyung's so that tomorrow they could celebrate new year.

he wanted to give him something special but nothing seemed to fit the requirements.

maybe i'll visit some type of shop on my way... there must be at least something i can get him.

grabbing his dark purple bag with all the things needed for their sleepover, jungkook closed his house door and went straight on the main street. it was four in the afternoon and they planned to meet at the park at five.

an hour to look for something extraordinary for taehyung will never be enough. but who knows? maybe there would be some present jungkook could buy for his loved one.

traveling the busy seoul streets, he noticed an old book shop. jungkook stepped closer to the wooden trashcan next to the entrance and stood there for some time having a distinctive monologue with himself.

what did taehyung even like? they've been dating for a couple of month but tae never mentioned anything about his likes or dislikes.

looking at his phone with a dirty screen, jungkook's eyes became the size of jupiter.

how is it 4:42??

jungkook not having another option, jumped into the book shop.

he was greeted with warmth and a pleasant, sweet smell of hot chocolate and cookies. the light was dimmed slightly and hundreds of books took their places on the wooden bookshelves.

an old lady, probably in her late seventies, put down her cup and slowly stood up walking up to jungkook.

"annyeonghaseyo! what brought you here, young man? i've never seen teenagers visit my old shop." the woman said with the sincerest smile in her face. her wrinkly cheeks with a tiny tint of pink rose up to her eyes making them look like crescent moons.

jungkook suddenly felt a bit dizzy. those eyes... he closed his eyes for a moment and a picture of some young man with brown hair, smiling came through.

he quickly pushed the thought away just like mr. kang taught him to do so he wouldn't have to faint everytime a memory comes back.

"annyeonghaseyo, miss but i am nothing even close to a teenager, I am 23." jungkook answered politely with a chuckle.

"oh goodness, stupid me, my eyesight always betrays me.." she said and walked up to the cash table.

"umm.. i would like a book for someone special..." jungkook rubbed the back of his head nervously.

"oh i have a perfect book for you, then" the old lady went somewhere behind the bookshelves and returned with a red book in her hands. "this is a beautiful book."

jungkook took it and carefully flipped through some pages.

me before you

that was the name of the book. jungkook took out his wallet deciding to buy this for taehyung since he didn't really have any other choice.

"thanks, i'll take it."

while the woman counted up the change, jungkook looked pitifully at the lady.

"isn't it hard keeping such a shop for you?"

"oh it definitely is but i have a grandson who will soon own this amazing place along with his loved one."

"that is so sweet! i will definitely come here again, bye-bye, thank you so much !" jungkook chirped and ran out the door seeing how little time he had left.

"bye-bye, cupcake. "

jungkook ran to the park with all his strength. he could feel how his hair was a mess and his heart was basically pounding out of his chest. and of course being the clumsy bunny he is, he bumped into someone on his way.

"ok i know you've missed me but your hugging could be a little less violent." jungkook heard a familiar deep voice under him.

"tae? omg i am so sorry!" jungkook apologized getting off the elder and brushing off the dirt from his jeans.

"haha, it's ok, let's take a walk, shall we ?" taehyung grabbed the youngers hand and lead him towards some park isle.

jungkook deeply blushed at his cuteness and lowered his head, hiding in his scarf. taehyung, noticing that, came closer and lifted jungkooks head up with the tip of his finger.

"why are you hiding? you look so good today... you look everyday!" taehyung praised him pecking his lips and smiling afterwards.

they stood there, looking at each other until a slight wind picked up, making rustling sounds with the bag jungkook kept the book in.

"oh right!" jungkook took out the book and handed it to the elder. " i... i am so sorry i couldn't find anything better... tae... you deserve the world but i only got you some stupid book..."

"kookie, you are the world, my world. and that's all i need, besides, i've always wanted to read me before you. so, thank you so much, bunny."

jungkooks cheeks turned a pretty shade of red and both of the boys, holding hands, walked the cold december streets, feeding off each others warmth...

"your point is...?"

"my point is that bunnies are calming creatures, that means everyone should have a picture of one hanging in their room."

jungkook and taehyung just came to tae's house and were undressing themselves from the warm clothes, whilst discussing... bunnies.

"what about buying a real bunny?" jungkook suggested, while taking off his shoes.

"well, if people want to clean their shit, then okay, i mean...."

"taehyung!!!"

"what? it's true... but i still love bunnies, and i am sooooo happy i have one all to myself."

jungkook gave tae a confusing look.

"you never told me you had a bunny... where is it?"

"right in front of me."

"... wait you mean me? i am your bunny?" jungkook said getting flustered.

"yeah, dummy and you know what?"

"what...?"

taehyung got closer to jungkooks face, leaving inches between them.

"i love...

chicken nuggets."

taehyung turned around and went to the kitchen.

"w-what? i thought you only loved me! you bastard.... or should I say... mustard? ahhaha get it? cause like chicken nuggets and mustard."

jungkook was laughing to himself still in the corridor while taehyung peeked out of the kitchen.

"who even eats chicken nuggets with mustard?"

"i don't know, never tried them."

"wait what!?!?!?"

taehyung ran out of the kitchen and stared at jungkook with shock.

"let's go we are cooking chicken nuggets. now."

"o-okay.."

a/n: i've eaten chicken nuggets, like, once in my life so idk what ppl eat them with... ketchup or mustard? i like neither :'>
