Lyla glanced up through squinted eyes at the afternoon sun, clutching the stems of the bouquet tighter in her hand. It saddened Lyla that she felt so gloomy on such a beautiful day, however, cemeteries were never meant to illicit happiness.

She sucked in a deep breath, clenching her jaw and looking down at the headstone in front of her, the glass vase that held the now dead roses from the week prior sitting on the bottom of the stone. The grass around it wasn't yet overgrown, but the dead leaves from the end of Autumn had gathered atop and around it, as well as dirt and dust. She bent down, resting her thighs against the heels of her sneakers and placing the bouquet to the side on the grass, the water bottle beside it.

She brushed the dirt and leaves off the stone, before moving the discarded leaves on the grass to the side, revealing the bottom of the stone, as well as the name engraved into it.

"Hey, Alli."

Her voice was soft, almost a whisper, the blonde smiling weakly at the stone before reaching for the flowers. "Lilys and daisies today." She mumbled as she grabbed the vase, removing the dead flowers and dumping out the water. "They were out of roses, but these looked just as pretty." She uncapped the water bottle and poured it into the vase. "It's been a month, and I still haven't heard from Isaac, I have a feeling he's not contacting me to save me the heartbreak." She placed the bouquet in the vase and placed it back on the stone.

She sighed, adjusting the skirt so it laid over her knees, "Little does he know the heartbreak is never-ending." She weakly chuckled, reaching up to fiddle with the ruby around her neck, "Your dad called me a couple days ago, though. Says France is beautiful, but not as beautiful without you. And that he's been going to the places you visited together over the summer. The pictures he sent are amazing." Lyla pulled her lips to the side, biting the skin of her lower lip, "Melissa got Jo a job as a receptionist at the hospital, way better pay and more hours, meaning we get to keep the house and not move into an apartment." She swallowed thickly, throat closing as she updated her life on deaf ears. "Oh, and I brought my grades up. I'm back on track for senior year."

Lyla huffed, rubbing her sweaty hands on her skirt, "That's...sorta it this week. I miss you...You haunt my dreams, Argent." She whispered the last part, biting the inside of her cheek to prevent to tears from falling and standing to her feet, pressing her fingers against the stone. "See you next week."
