𝐓𝐡𝐞 air was bitter, and so was Visenya. While her younger brothers were allowed to train and learn to fight from the teachings of the kings guards she was forced to sit outside in the cold and watch them. What a load of bullshit. She thought to herself as she watched Luce almost fall to the ground when he was handed a sword, a sword she knew she would handle a-lot better than him.
Visenya's wasn't mad at her brothers of course, they had no say in the matter, she was mad at the ridiculous men written rules she was forced to obey and of course she was mad at Aegon for mocking her when she was declined a training lesson. If he wasn't wearing a layer of armour and holding a weapon she would have hit him right then and there.
When Visenya grew mad or annoyed at someone, or something, every other little rude or annoying detail she noticed made her ten times mad than it normally should.Like how Alicent glared down her little brothers for doing nothing but enjoying themselves when outside training as her sworn guard, Ser Criston, purposely picked on Jace and Luce and made there training even more difficult.
Oddly enough, what seemed to be annoying her most that day was that while Alicent stared at and judged everyone but her own troublesome children she neglected and ignored Heleana leaving her to collect insects in a corner of the courtyard.Visenya decided, out of kindness and spite of the queen, to accompany her and attempt to talk with the girl over insects, assuming no one else was willing to listen to Heleana much like her.
"Healena?"Visenya spoke as softly as she could but Healena still jumped at the sudden sound of a voice approaching her."Sorry, did I scare you?"She immediately apologised.
"No it is fine"Heleana replied barely above a whisper quickly turning her attention back to the small spider that was crawling around her hand.
"Is that a spider?"Visenya asked trying not look to disgusted as she imagined it crawling on her own skin.
Heleana simply hummed in response to busy protecting the spider from falling as it trailed onto her other hand.
"Does it not it tickle?"Visenya continued as she approached the girl, placing her hands on her knees and crouching down slightly so she could get a closer look at the insect.
"Does what tickle?"Heleana turned her head furrowing her brows in confusion at Visenya's question.
"The spider, does it not tickle your hand?"Visenya clarified forcing an awkward laugh.
"Only briefly, it is quite relaxing though"Heleana spoke softly, although as far as Visenya was aware that was the only volume and tone she spoke in.
Visenya admired her in silence for a while, a small smile on her face, slightly envying how much peace Heleana seemed to be in meanwhile Visenya couldn't even fall asleep without a million thoughts or nightmares running through her head.
"Would you like to hold him?"Heleana offered after a few moments of silence, standing up carefully to make sure she didn't drop and loose the creature.
"It is a he?"Visenya raised an eyebrow, genuinely curious as to wether Healena was smart enough to know its gender or she was just being creative and giving it its own made up identity, either way Visenya found it wholesomely entertaining.
Heleana, once again, hummed in response as she approached Visenya holding her hands out and signalling for her to take the spider from them.
"Oh no thank you, I prefer to admire from afar"Visenya politely decline, shaking her head and holding her hands up in refusal.
Before Heleana could reply to the girl a loud, and highly irritating, yell called for Visenya's attention from the centre of the courtyard.
"Did you see that?!"Aegon called across the courtyard grinning widely.
"No Aegon, unfortunately I do not spend all of my time watching you"Visenya drawled throwing her arms up in the air, slapping them back down on her thighs.
"Well you should, then you would see how terrible of a fighter your brother is"Aegon laughed lowering his sword and allowing Jace to stand up from where he'd been knocked to the ground.
"I assure you Aegon, if it wasn't for Ser Criston being pettier then you and training you against an eight year old you would have no chance in any fight"Visenya shot back crossing her arms, noticing Jace and Luce snickering at her comment out the corner of her eye.
"I could even beat you"She added after a beat of hesitation.
"Really?why don't you prove it?"Aegon challenged, mockingly laughing at her.
"Gladly"Visenya scoffed as she marched over to stand face to face with the Prince.
Before she could reach Aegon a strong arm was held out in front of her stopping her from walking any further.Ser Harwin Strong stud besides her sword in hand as he sent Visenya a warning look which read 'do you really want to do this?'.
"Is there a spare armour set?"Visenya called out as she looked around the courtyard before spotting a set that Ser Criston was holding in his hands.
"Ser Criston"Harwin dropped his hand from in front of Visenya and held it out towards Ser Criston signalling for the armour to be handed to him, as she grinned widely happy that he agreed to let her fight, but instead sir Criston just stud staring at Visenya in complete shock.
"Ser we cannot let her fight!"Criston coughed out in disbelief.
"Why?"Visenya quickly replied taking the guard by surprise with her sudden and very straight forward questioning, clearly he did not know her very well.
"B-because..."He stuttered unsure of what to say without offending the Princess who, although she was barely a teen, had a lot of power over him and his job.
"B-...Because what?because I am a girl?"Visenya interrupted tilting her head as she mocked his stutter causing sir Harwin, and even Aegon, to snort back a laugh.
"Well, yes, Princess, women aren't supposed to-..."Ser Criston awkwardly trailed off again.
"Oh enough with your useless rambling"Visenya huffed breaking past Ser Harwin and grabbing the armour of Ser Criston herself.
She quickly slipped it on over her head and tightened it to her body properly with the help of Ser Harwin, who handed her a sword, before she toke her stance in-front of Aegon, who seemed awfully distracted by something a lot lower than Visenya's eyes.
"You sure you want to do this princess? There is a clear strength and height advantage here"Sir Harwin worryingly called out, pulling Aegon from whatever trance he was in.
"Please he's a mere inch taller"Visenya rolled her eyes.
"And I don't think I need to worry about his strength"She snickered to herself as she looked Aegon up and down.
"You've not had a single day of training, how do you plan on winning this?"Aegon raised his eyebrows, a grin pulling at the corners of his lips, brushing Visenya's comment on his strength.
"Don't put yourself on such a high pedestal Aegon, it will embarrassing enough when you loose to a girl"Visenya teasingly smirked gripping her sword so tight that her knuckles began to turn white.
"If you say so"Aegon held his hands up, more entertained by Visenya's insults then offended.
Aegon ran at Visenya excepting her to go down quickly even with him planning to go easy on her but before he could even strike she hit his arm and sword backwards, distracting him, and giving her the space to kick him right in the chest and send him stumbling backwards, eventually landing on the ground as he failed to catch himself.
"Ha!Well done!"Ser Harwin bellowed a laugh nudging ser Criston who stud glaring at the girl disapprovingly.
Visenya could feel all the judgmental gazes burning into the back of her as she got back into her beginning stance and prepared for Aegon to attack.Aegon quickly got up and ran at her again but before Visenya could pull another sly trick and trip him up she was distracted by the shriek of her name.
"Visenya!"She turned around to see her mother looking down at her with wide eyes, Aegon knocking her to the ground before she could reply.
Visenya let out a yell of pain when she hit the ground, the colour from Aegons face draining rapidly when he realised what he'd done.
"Princess!"See Harwin quickly ran over to help the girl up.
He carefully pried her hand up from behind her back as she hissed and whinced in pain from the slightest touch, it was bruised red with a deep slit reaching from the centre of her wrist to the first knuckle of her thumb.
"You must've have twisted it when you fell, seems you unfortunately landed on your sword"Ser Harwin informed as he turned around her wrist to inspect it, causing Visenya to whine in pain.
"My apologies princess"Ser Harwin sighed as he shook his head.
"It is fine, it isn't your fault"Visenya hissed her breath shaky as she shot a glare at Aegon who was staring at the injury horrified.
"Visenya!"Rhaenyra yelled sounding both furious and worried for her daughter as she ran over, just from her tone Visenya could tell she would be getting a long lecture later.
"What is it?what has happened?"Rhaenyra changed to a softer toned as she kneeled down beside Visenya.
"Your daughter is rather ambitious princess, id keep a watchful eye if I were you"Ser Harwin chuckled as he and Rhaenyra stared into one another's eyes.
Visenya looked between the two incredibly confused, even looking to Aegon for answers but he was just frozen in terror as he stared at her injury.Visenya cleared her throat interrupting the moment and bringing both there attention back to her.
"Come on, let's get you to the maester"Rhaenyra gulped as she hooked her arm under Visenya's, lifting her up of the ground with the help of Ser Harwin.
As Visenya hobbled into the castle, trying not the faint at the sight of the bloody cut, with her hand hanging on her wrist by thread she heard the sound of a very angry Alicent scolding Aegon but she didn't bother to look around at the scene.
𝐖𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬 and cry's filled the room as the needle stabbed through Visenyas skin and sowed her flesh together. She gripped the wooden chair, almost so tight that it shook, as Jace,Luce and Jaehaerys stud beside her watching with faces full of worry and fear.Jace had tried to reach out and hold her hand but Visenya refused afraid she would hurt him with her tight grip.
After almost an hour of being scolded by her mother, Visenya was finally left alone in peace and quiet but that didn't last long as her guard entered her chambers a mere half hour later.
"Princess, Prince Aegon is here to see you"The gaurd spoke sternly staring at the wall behind Visenya, both of his hands at his side.
"Tell him I'm too busy recovering from the injury he gave me"Visenya made sure to emphasise on the "he", not even opening her eyes as her head rested in her hand.
"You look perfectly fine to me"Aegon hummed from the door frame which he leaned on, arms crossed over his chest.
Visenya huffed dropping her hand and lifting her head."What do you want Aegon?"She tiredly replied glaring at the boy which her guard toke as his signal to leave, much to her dismay, leaving the two alone.
Aegon pushed himself off the doorframe as the guard shut it behind him"My mother insisted I come apologise"He grumbled walking towards Visenya.
"Well your forgiven"Visenya sighed nodding politely.
Visenya's face slowly screwed in confusion as Aegon stayed silent staring at her, much like earlier when Visneya injured herself. It was then she realised he was staring at the her injury and it's mangled red skin that had been stitched together. She hadn't bathed since so there was still a dry blood stain covering her normally white, snow like skin.
"Does it hurt?"Aegon whispered his eyes still trapped on Visenya's wrist, which she quickly hid by placing her other hand over it on her lap.
"Not anymore"Visenya muttered pursing her lips, awkwardly waiting for him to leave since they never willing spent time in each others company.
"Did your mother order you to apologise or stare at me for an hour?"A small grin grew on Visenya's face.
"Right yes, yeah"Aegon shook his head as he cleared his throat."...I'm sorry...that you were to delicate to fight"
"Sorry?!"Visenya snapped leaning forward in her chair, her previous smile having disappeared and a much more frustrated look taking over her features instead.
"You heard me"Aegon shrugged his normal cocky smirk returning to his face.
"Would you like to apologise properly or should I go call your mother to make your other cheek red?"Visenya titled her head, sarcastically smiling at Aegon who's smirk dropped at her words.
"I'm only joking"She laughed slumping back into the chair comfortably to which Aegon rolled his eyes.
"But call me delicate again and I will prove you wrong"She quickly added.
"Got it"Aegon clicked his tongue off the top of his mouth.
Visenya turned her eyes back down to her wrist grazing her fingers over the glistening, scarlet red skin carefully. She glanced back up to see Aegon still stud in front of her, with his hands behind his back, swinging back and forth on the ball of his feet as he whistled a tune to himself.
"You can leave now"Visenya let out a awkward laugh looking up at Aegon as she picked at her already short finger nails.
Aegon pressed his tongue to his cheek nodding and turning to leave without saying another word.As he left Visenya caught glimpse of something shiny in his hands which he placed on her bedside table before exiting her chambers.
Visenya waited for a moment, assuming he'd just forget it and would return any second, but when the chamber door stud still and the room fell completely silent she forced herself up and out of her chair to investigate the mysterious object. As she stepped closer she realised Aegon had left a jar of some sort of cream on her beside table.Visenya picked it up and recognised the label, hanging from a thread which tied the lid down, to be something the maesters used for their jars which they carried there medicine and herbs in.
From what she could make out from the smudged and faded black ink Visenya realised it was a cream made for soothing the stinging pain in injury's much like hers.Just from the colour and appearance Visenya could tell this wasn't a cream that any maester would be carrying around but only royal or rich maesters who looked after people like her grandfather and Alicent.
There was no way Aegon had gone out of his way to find this, was Visenya's first thought after her realisation but the more she thought about it the more it scared her.As weird as it sounded she enjoyed bickering and insulting Aegon, she found it to be one of the only entertaining things to do and it shocked her to her core to think about him actually caring for her and them being friends. She shivered at the thought quickly placing the jar back down and returning to her chair.
Visenya did use the cream later that night when her injury began to sting and it was helpful, that she couldn't deny, unlike many other things.
𝐈𝐟 it wasn't obvious enough, Visenya loved dragons more than she loved anything. She spent night and day riding, feeding and training her dragon, Ikarus, the baby of her mothers dragon, Syrax.
Her love for them earned her the nickname of ' the dragon princess ' which most used as a way to mock her claiming she spent more time with dragons then humans, which wasn't a complete lie, and by most she meant Aegon.Although, unbeknownst to Rhaenyra, her nickname ' the realm delight ' was passed onto her daughter, since Visenya was practically her mothers clone, and was used in rather inappropriate ways by, elder, men when talking about a barely thirteen year old girl.
Even with her injury and her mother insisting she rested and stayed indoors Visenya went out for a ride on her dragon Ikarus the very next day, planning it perfectly so she was already up and in the clouds by the time the sun rose and people could realise she was gone.To Visenya kings landing was her chains and dragons were what broke her free from them, and the burdens that weighed her down.
Visenya was completely in her own world when riding her dragon, staring at the sky ahead as she comfortably let go of her reins and sat back to admire the yellow colour the morning sun had given the clouds.Unfortunately her dreams were interrupted by the distant call of her name that she barely picked up on between the sound of her dragons roars and the early morning wind that had numbed her ears by now.
"Visenya Velaryon!"Visenya whipped her head around terrified the by sound of her full name being yelled, automatically assuming she had been caught and was in trouble, to see her father, Laenor Velaryon, flying up besides her dragon on his own.
Since the wind carried most words away, it was impossible for the two to talk above the clouds they their dragons were grazing upon, so Laenor nodded his head to the side signalling for Visenya to follow as he tipped his dragon to the side and soared down, disappearing through the clouds to land.
Visenya rushed through the clouds, squinting her eyes as she did so, as the wind gushed through her hair and whistled in her ears until she came to a sharp land, outside the dragon caves of kings landing.
"Have you not been instructed to rest from riding?"Laenor began before Visenya was even off her dragon.
"Maybe"Visenya shrugged as she jumped down from the saddle of her dragon immediately heading to Ikaru's head to praise him."But what mother doesn't see wont harm her"She glanced around at her father as she stroked the neck of Ikarus admiring his golden scales.
"I think you forget your talking to your father"Laenor gave her a disproving glare placing his hands on his hips.
Visenya turned around with a huff, mocking her father by placing her hands on her hips."Go on then, scold me"She rolled her eyes leaving Laenor speechless.
"Told you so"Visenya spoke out of breath as she brushed past her father, ripping her gloves of her hands using her teeth as she walked.
"How is your hand?"Laenora asked as he spun around jogging after his daughter.
"Fine, not as red...or stinging anymore"Visenya replied as she inspected the, barely fresh, scar.
"Really?well that's good to hear"Laenor smiled linking his daughters arm in his own, pulling her closer to him as they walked besides one another."What even possessed you to think fighting Aegon was a good idea?"
"He called me delicate"Visenya mumbled chewing at the inside of her cheek.
"Ha!"Laenor laughed loudly causing Visenya to flinch as it went right down her ear and she wasn't excepting such a reaction.
"What?"Visenya forced a nervous laugh, paranoid that her father was laughing at her in a mocking way.
"Nothing just..."Laenor trailed off as he thought of the right words to use."...-Anyone with eyes would be able to tell your more dangerous then delicate"
"Really?"Her face lit up with a smile, rather happy with what she saw as a compliment.
"Of course, you are your mothers daughter after all"Laenor chuckled rubbing Visenya's arm reassuringly.
"I suppose your right"Visenya looked down at the floor, trying to fight the cheesy grin that was attempting to pull at the corners of her lips.
"I'm always right"

I hate this omg, the editing was so rushed so ignore any mistakes.
"But Harwin is her father-..."SHUSH
Laenor raised her therefore, in her eyes, he is her father biologically or not.
anywayssss finally gave them a cute little bonding moment ( I've already done SO much research for this book and wrote that scene in the middle of the night when I couldn't be arsed to figure out what cream/herbs would be like in the hotd world so let's just pretend )
P.s the next chapter is going to follow the plot of ep 7 so Visenya is abt 15/16 ( I'm just assuming Aegon is similar age like 16/17🤷♀️ )
Think that's all ENJOY!!!
