FESTIVE MUSIC RANG through her ears, laughters echoing throughout the glistening night. The air was filled with much happiness and joy, even in the chilly winter.

Y/N stood on the fallen frozen stars of the sky, beneath the silvery night. Soft diamonds pecking her skin every now and then. When her hands lifted into the wintery air, she allowed the small golden paper of hot air balloon to float into oblivion while it carried her wishes.

Her E/C eyes were fixated on her sky lantern elegantly floating up to the heavens. It would then slowly shift and meet with deep pink ones.

For once in his life, Hyoma felt himself shivered from someone's gaze. He could not identify what was this odd sensation that he feels. It wasn't the feeling of playing soccer, it felt like... thousands and thousands of butterflies fluttering in his soul. He had never before, stared at someone with such awe, and such... fear.

When the boy noticed that his eyes were locked onto her form, he immediately averted his gaze somewhere else. Pink tints then began to crawl beneath his cheeks, adding a darker hue to his already blushed face from the chill.

For a moment, nothing happened, and when he looked at the direction where she stood, the girl was nowhere to be found. His blush died down, wariness filling deep pink eyes that seemed to slightly widened. The boy looked around everywhere, trying to find the girl that looked like a dream under the winter night.

"You were staring, ohime."

She whispered into his ears, wind shifted and shuffled behind him, leaving the boy befuddled. She was fast— almost as fast as him. Or rather, she just lacked the presence to be able to reappear right behind him.

That was what confused Hyoma. It was as if the moment you look away from her, she becomes one with the snowy season, falling down gently and elegantly if she wants to.

A chuckle escaped his lips, regaining his usual composed self. He was impressed at her, she could be on the same level as him with whatever ability she has. His eyes moved to the bottom once her hands extended out from behind him, holding out two paper of sky lanterns awaiting to be build and lit up.

"Would you like to light one up with me?" she said, more louder than just a mere whisper, her vocals as calm as the ocean. Her scent began spreading around him, filling his nose with bliss. She smelt like a mix of winter and spring, with the side and softer scent of her favourite flower lingering on the pearl-colored kimono she wore.

"... sure," he replied ever so nonchalantly as he turned behind to look at her. There the same look he had plastered on her face; the stoic expression that carries a superiority complex. But, the girl had a much more contrast to his, completing the perfect look.

One could see the meaning of the dusk with just a single glimpse of her eyes. It was mysteriously gorgeous.

Chigiri Hyoma had fallen in love with the eyes that held the darkest secrets of the deadly night, on the night of a sky lantern festival.
