βͺ good eye, want a dog bone . . . β«
A brunette stood in the dark - eerie forest, bow in hand, aimed high against her cheekbone. Taking a deep breath she let the arrow go, hitting the tree trunk's wooden center.
That night had been senior prank night. Hence why she isn't with everyone else but practicing her archery -- something she hadn't done in what felt like years. To say she was rusty would be an understatement.
"Arrow." She said raising her hand out.
"Arrow." Terra shuffled with the bag in her arms handing her best friend the midnight coloured arrow, with glowing runes littering it's sides.
Placing her arrow against her quiver she began aiming once again.
Terra glanced around the dark forest worriedly, "Shouldn't we just join everyone tonight? I mean, it'll be less creepy then being in the creepy forest where anything can come out and kill us." She nervously whispered.
Rory stifled an eye roll, "It's senior prank night. Emphasis on senior."
"So?" Terra huffed with an eye roll, "Come on, please? Plus, your brother keeps texting me asking what we're doing. He still thinks we're having a movie marathon." She mumbled pulling out her phone from her dress pocket.
Rory chewed on her lip as she let go of the arrow. Her doe eyes narrowed at the object that now laid on the floor.
"Fine."
"Thank you." She breathed out holding the duffle bag out to the brunette with a wide smile.
Shaking her head in amusement she grabbed the bag shoving her things inside. She tilted her head to the side holding up her father's dagger between her nimble fingers. Deciding on being safe rather then sorry she shoved the blade into her leather coat pocket.
A gold chain caught her eyes, she chewed on her lip and grabbed her necklace shoving it in her jacket pocket.
Entering the blue Prius, the two girls made their way down to the school.
"This is going to be so much fun." Terra chirped driving down the narrow road. "Imagine the look on Ric's face when he goes into his class tomorrow morning?" She glanced to the quite angel who fiddled with her phone. "What's wrong?"
Rory shrugged, "I don't know. I feel like something's gonna go wrong tonight. Just don't know what . . ."
Terrasighed, "If you think we're gonna get caught, we won't. Nothing's going to happen tonight other then prank velour. It's not like anyone's going to die tonight." She faked a gasp, followed by a chuckle.
Rory's lips twitched upwards, followed by an eyes roll. "Yeah, yeah, you're right."
"I'm always right. What could possibly go wrong?"
at school . . .
Rory and Terra's heeled boots hit the floor as they strutted down the empty and vacant hallway. Hearing a loud 'seriously' the two girls looked to one another giggling arriving to the classroom, where their friends all stood in glaring at Matthew Donovan.
"Thank God." Caroline breathed out seeing the two cautiously walk in looking down at the now sprung rat traps that littered the floor. "Matt screwed it up."
Alec rolled his eyes making his way to his sister.
"Thought you guys were watching movies tonight?" He asked side hugging his sister.
Looking to one another the two girls shrugged, "Uh, we decided on coming to help. And judging by the looks of it, you guys could use all the help you can get." Rory chuckled looking around the room.
"Haha." Matt rolled his eyes. "I forgot."
"Here we go." Alec mumbled.
"How could you forget? We've only been waiting for this since freshman year." Caroline ranted.
"Yeah, Matt. If I'm doing this, you're doing this." Elena nodded to the dirty blonde.
"I'm kind of surprised any of you are doing this." Matt admitted glancing between his friends.
"Caroline's making us." Bonnie piped up.
"Yeah, considering the fifty texts she sent us." Rory murmured from next to her brother.
Caroline sent a glare to the brunette who smiled sheepishly, "We're about to be seniors." Alec and Tyler let out a groan knowing her next words. Though Caroline didn't seem fazed by the two boys as she continued her speech. "These are the memories that stay with us forever, and if we don't-"
"If we don't create these memories now, then what's the point of it all?" Alec finished.
Caroline glared at the handsome boy, "Go ahead and make fun, I don't care."
"Well, if you didn't care you wouldn't have brought it up, blondie." Alec remarked with a smirk.
Terra snickered.
"You're all lame. And I've got ten more classrooms to prank. Alexander you coming?" Tyler nodded to the boy who groaned at the use of his full name.
"Nah, you go, I'm going to take these two juniors and show them how it's done." He said confidently.
"I LOVE YOU!" Caroline shouted at the two girls and boy who began exiting the classroom.
The trio made their way down the halls occasionally bumping into one another.
Rory watched her best friend and brother with a small smile as she trailed behind the duo.
Alec pulled out his phone furrowing his brows at Matt's strange text message.
"What's wrong?" Madison asked from next to the tall boy.
"Uh, yeah, hey, you guys take these to Avery's class, I'll meet you two there soon." He handed the toiletry to the two girls. "Call me if anything." He said to his sister who nodded in confusion.
"And then there were two." Terra shrugged walking down the hall. Rory glanced back to her brother's retreating figure and chewed on her lip. "Rory, you coming?"
"Yeah." Rory nodded walking after the strawberry blonde.
"Make it three." A voice said from behind the two teenagers.
Terra furrowed her brows glancing to Rory who swallowed thickly. The two slowly turned on their heels facing the intruder.
"Theo?" Rory breathed out not believing her eyes.
He hadn't promised, but he still came back.
Before she could so much think of something to say, her feet had began moving forwards to his figure at the end of the hallway.
Rory wrapped her arms around his waist pulling his frame into her own tightly. She pressed her cheek against the vampire's heart, breathing in his comforting scent that she had missed.
"I-I thought you weren't coming back." She whispered, tears breaming her doe irises.
Theo's eyes softened at her words, tightening his hold around her body. "I didn't want to let you down if I promised you something I couldn't keep." He murmured into her ear, kissing the surface.
Terra smiled at the two, slowly she made her way over.
"Why are you here?" She asked, "Not to be rude but, Klaus wouldn't just let you and Stefan go."
Rory pulled away looking up at the man's emerald irises in confusion.
Theo nodded, "You have to get out of here." He instructed placing his hand on the huntresses lower back pushing her down the hall next to the witch.
"What about everyone else?" Rory asked coming to a halt.
Theo parted his lips, "Everyone else?" He repeated looking at the two.
"Well, isn't this cute?" A feminine voice piped up from behind the trio. "Huh, she's cute. I can see why you fancy her, Theodore."
Rory looked at the blonde across from them as Terra walked forwards standing in front of the couple glaring at the pretty blonde.
"And you would be?" Terra asked with narrowed eyes her lips wrinkled in distaste at the smirking blonde.
"Madison, don't." Theo warned pulling Rory behind him.
"Awe, you're no fun." Rebekah feigned a pout to the glaring vampire, "You'll have to excuse me, I've had a very exhausting day. My name is Rebekah." She smirked, "And you must be Charlotte."
Clara swallowed thickly.
Madison raised her hand to the blonde giving her aneurysm.
"Go, go, get out of here." Theo pushed Rory back, as Madison walked backwards from the chuckling Original who clutched her head.
"I'm not leaving you." Rory denied.
"Go!" Theo shouted startling the brunette who stared into his now, black ones. Swallowing harshly she grabbed Terra's hand and sprinted down the hallway.
"Now, that's not how you treat a lady." Rebekah groaned out standing to her feet once again. "Then again, you were always so rough." She smirked, "I guess she also fancies that about you." With a blink of an eye, Rebekah snapped the vampire's neck. "Consider me jealous."
The two best friends pushed the gym doors opened only to regret their decision immediately.
There stood Klaus Mikaelson, Elena Gilbert, Bonnie Bennett, Matt Donovan, Alec Fray, and Tyler Lockwood.
Hearing the door behind them swing open the two turned on their heels seeing Rebekah dragging in a limp Theo Salvatore.
"Sorry, he was busy betraying us once again." She huffed dropping his arm on to the floor brushing past Rory and Terra.
"Everyone this is my sister, Rebekah. Word of advice she has a bit of temper." Klaus smiled to the Mystic Falls group, "Anyways, now that we are all here. Dana, why don't you relax?" He called out to the whimpering brunette who fell against her boyfriend. "You and Chad sit tight."
Rory sent a glare to the hybrid as she knelt over Theo's body, placing his head in her lap. Tears breamed her eyes looking down at the vampire who laid semi-dead.
Looking up she watched as the group conversed with one another - argued.
Discreetly she grabbed the gold chain in her jacket and shoved it into the vampire's front jean pocket.
"I assume you two are the reason Elena's still walking around alive?" Klaus accused the two witches.
"That's right. Blame us." Bonnie nodded.
"Good eye, want a dog bone?" Terra sarcastically asked.
Klaus chuckled shaking his head at the beautiful strawberry blonde, "Oh, there's no need for blame, love. If you're offering." He smirked nodding to the witch's neck, "But it seems your witchy interferences have cause some undesirable side effects. And since you two cause the problem, I'm going to have you two find the fix."
Klaus made his way over behind Tyler grabbing the wolf by the back of his neck. "I'm going to make this very simple-" He announced turning the wolf to the group, "Every time I attempt to turn a werewolf into a vampire hybrid, they die during the transition. It's quite horrible, actually." Biting into his wrist he shoved his wound to the wolf's mouth forcing his blood down his throat. "I need you two to find a way to save my hybrids. And for Tyler's sake . . . You better hurry." With that he snapped his neck.
A shriek left Elena and Rory's throats at the sight of their dead friend.
half an hour later . . .
A gasp echoed through the gym, from Rory's lap. Her sad eyes looked down at the frantic vampire who sat up looking around him panicked. Rory hushed the man taking his face in her hands soothing him quietly.
"It's okay, shh, it's okay." She whispered.
Theo's hand immediately reached for her cheek, "Are you okay?" He asked inspecting her appearance.
"I'm fine." She smiled softly, "I'm okay."
Klaus let out an irritated groan, "Ugh." He sat up, "Witches, go fetch your grimoires and enchantments and what--not. I'll hold onto Elena . . . For safe keeping."
Elena nodded to the two girls.
Bonnie and Terra turned to Rory who sent a nod their way.
Alec looked to his sister refusing to budge from his spot. Rory looked to the strawberry blonde and curly haired witch with pleading eyes.
"I'm not leaving her." Alec gritted out glaring down at the two witches.
"We need your help. Theo won't let anything happen to her." Bonnie reassure the hunter, "Please, Alec."
"Yes, Alexander please go help. Unless you'd rather I keep one of them under my watch." Klaus smirked glancing to the strawberry blonde who scrunched up her nose in disgust.
Clenching his jaw he looked to the vampire who nodded pulling the brunette closer to him if it were possible.
The four left the gym.
"So this is the latest doppelgΓ€nger." Rebekah noted walking around Elena, like a lion after it's prey. "The original one was much prettier."
"Enough, Rebekah. Take the wolf boy elsewhere, would you?"
With a sarcastic smile, Rebekah dragged Tyler out of the gym.
"Just ignore her." Klaus shrugged. "Petty little thing."
