18 : Plan A or B?

LOGAN GAVE A SHARP WHISTLE WHEN BELLA'S NAME WAS CALLED. Alec sat in the chair next to him, slowly clapping as he sent a fond smile in his mate's direction. Isabella Swan had graduated high school, and Logan couldn't be prouder of his only niece. 

"Oh, Bella - You're all grown up now." Logan smiled when he found her standing beside Edward and Charlie after the ceremony. "I'm so proud of you." He tugged the brunette into a tight hug. 

"Congratulations, Bella." Alec nodded, choosing to keep by his mate's side. "It is nice to meet you, Mr. Swan." He gave Charlie a small grin, who raised a brow and looked over at Logan who shrugged sheepishly. 

"Charlie, this is Alec - my kindred." He stressed the word and watched as his older brother's eyes widen as they flickered down to Alec.

"Oh, so is he like you?" Charlie asked and Logan laughed with a shake of his head - giving Alec a light squeeze. 

"Something like that." The younger brother smiled. "Unfortunately he is leaving tonight. He and his sister have a family emergency that they have to attend to." And it was true, Alec and Jane had nearly scared the shit out of him when they suddenly appeared in his office - claiming that they had to leave. 

He was sad to see his mate go, but Alec had promised that he would be back soon. 

"Well, it was a pleasure to meet you, Alec." Charlie nodded awkwardly to the immortal teen, who merely smiled back politely. 

"You as well Charlie."

"Uncle Logan, are you coming to the party? Carlisle wanted to speak with you." Bella interrupted when she saw the uncomfortable look on Alec's face. 

"Yes, I'll be there after Alec leaves." 

"Great!" Logan jumped when Alice appeared at his side, Jasper never too far away from his mate. "Emmett has been excited to see you again, he wants to see if he can beat you in an arm wrestle."

"Now that I paid to see." Charlie spoke up with a chuckle, having seen the large boy and whispering to Bella about him having to be amazing at Football. 

"I would like to see him try," Logan smirked before he took Alec's hand in his own. "We need to get going, I will see you tonight girls." He then nodded to Jasper before he and Alec were off towards their home. 

And soon they found themselves back in the cave. 

"You will call me as soon as you get back to Volterra." Logan all but demanded as he watched Alec flit around the living room, the vampire making sure he had everything. "I'd hate to have to teleport all the way to Italy to make sure you are alright."

"Logan." Alec sent his mate a look. "We've been over this." The teen chuckled and the Fae sighed, running a hand down his face.

"I'm just worried, with Victoria running around - I'm afraid of what may happen." With his eyes shut he missed the guilty look on Alec's face. Though he opened his eyes when the smaller male sat in Logan's lap.

"Logan, I'll be fine and I'll be back before you know it. I will call and text you okay?" Alec tilted his head and leaned up to peck Logan's lips. But, when he pulled away the Fae didn't let him get far.

Alec moaned when Logan began to trail his lips down the vampire's neck. The Fae's fingers dug into the teen's hips so hard that Alec was sure if he had been human - there would have been bruises. 

The vampire's fingers tangled in Logan's raven locks as he pulled back - and his now coal eyes connected with Logan's.  

Now usually the Fae's eyes were a brilliant cerulean blue - but now they were this dark blue. It was the type of blue that looked like a sea during a storm, wild and savage - though as beautiful as sin. 

"I have to go." Alec murmured as Logan leaned their forehead together. "Jane will come looking for me if I am not there soon."

"I know, it's just that I will miss you. Alec, I care about you so much that it scares me." Alec could feel his stone heart clenching. What was this new feeling? Is this what guilt felt like? "Be back soon, and I will be here waiting."

"Promise?" The vampire muttered softly and the Fae tightened his grip - pulling Alec into a strong embrace. 

"I promise, my prince."

ALEC STOOD WITH JANE, FELIX, AND DEMETRI AS THEY WATCHED THE SAVAGE NEWBORNS BELOW.  After he and Logan had kissed their goodbyes, Alec had joined his sister and fellow guards in Seattle - where they now watched the newborn army that was meant to kill the Cullens. 

"They've already drawn too much attention." Demetri hissed to his fellow vampires and Alec nodded silently - ignoring his vibrating phone that rested in his coat pocket.

"So has our 'inaction'. Others may begin to question the Volturi's effectiveness." Felix voiced.

Jane didn't let her gaze leave the newborns. "Let them." Her voice was sharp and right to the point.

Felix sucked air through his teeth and walked away. "Maybe we should consult with Aro." Though it wasn't long before the giant was on his knees, withering in silent agony as Jane used her gift on him. 

"Aro's decisions are being watched." Jane tutted watching Felix. "We must decide."

Alec resisted the urge to call Logan right then and there. He wanted to warn him, wanted to tell him of the great danger he, Bella, and the Cullens were in. But, fearing his sister's ire - he kept his mouth shut and instead place a gentle hand on her shoulder. 

"Then decide sister. It's time." Alec murmured, watching as his sister released Felix from her gift. 

"Yes, it is. Either we let them do what they were created for... Or we end them. Decisions, decisions..." Jane hummed quietly before she turned to look at the others. "Let us go hunt, we will need our strength.

Alec found himself with Demetri after that - watching the tracker feed on some poor soul who decided to walk through a dark alley. 

"You seem troubled." The tracker noted as he finished his meal. When Alec stayed quiet, Demetri hummed. "Is it about Logan?"

"It is none of your concern." Alec hissed, and the older vampire merely sighed.

"Alec, I'm saying this as a friend. You need to pick a side, the Volturi or your mate."

Alec looked torn and the tracker felt bad for the immortal teen. "What am I to do, Demetri?"

Demetri clicked his tongue and lightly shook his head. "That is something only you can decide Alec. Just keep in mind, what means more." 

❝THEY'LL BE HERE IN FOUR DAYS.❞ Logan sat quietly by Carlisle, eyes flickering around the room,

"This could turn into a blood bath." The Fae sighed, running a hand down his face. 

"Who's behind it?"

"I didn't see anyone I recognize. Maybe one..." Alice shrugged, looking at Edward.

The mind reader nodded his head. "I know his face. He's local, Riley Biers. He didn't start this."

"Whoever did is staying out of the action." Logan nodded in agreement with Alice. Thoughts whirled around in his head. 

Alec had yet to return his calls and he feared the worse. Edward had voiced his beliefs earlier about the Volturi being involved and Logan had almost taken off his head right then and there.

No, he refused to believe it. His Alec would never do something like this. 

Right?

"You can't do this Jake." Bella's voice brought him out of his thoughts and the Fae gave a sharp whistle, gaining everyone's attention. 

"You won't be fighting alone. My mother and one of my closest friends will be there as well." He avoided Bella's eye as he spoke the next sentence. "And so will I."

"Logan!" Bella screeched and the Fae merely gave her a sharp smile.

"Zip it! You aren't gonna talk me out of this Bella." He stood from his chair and gave a nod to everyone in the room. "I'm going home. Carlisle call me in the morning with the location and I'll be there. Goodnight." And he was gone within the blink of an eye - having used teleportation to leave. 

"He's been acting off since Alec left." It was Embry that spoke, much to everyone's surprise.

"I still can't believe he trusts him." Edward scoffed and Bella sent him a sharp look.

"Okay look I don't know what you have against my uncle but I am sick of it. Either you accept him or so help me god I will make the rest of your life hell Edward Cullen." Bella shot him one last glare before she stomped away, Alice right behind her.

"She sure told you."

"Shut up, Jacob."

★ Alec what are you doing!?

And you tell him, Bella.

I love the relationship between Bella and Logan. And the tension between Alec and Logan was whooo *fans self*.
